This is the only place you should bring your car/truck. They’ve always been so accommodating for me and never overcharge. Henry is a great mechanic and takes care of your car/truck. Mike is great to work with. I have nothing bad to say.
I have been going to Oakwood for over twenty years. They are by far the best auto repair shop anywhere. They are honest, do what they say they are going to do, and do it on time. Joe I consider more than a repair shop owner. I feel like he is a member of the family because he and Oakwood care so much.

Picked up a screw on my drive home from work, I called spoke with Henry and they took care of me immediately
I had got my suv inspected and diagnosed. Someone reported the mileage wrong (70,620) and it was 60,620. So when I went to the actual dealer they told me it was a clerical error obviously and to go back to the establishment. I did and mike did not want to call the dealer personally. I called the dealer on speaker and mike was rather nasty. He said he wasn’t fixing it. On my car fax it clearly stated mileage reported from oakwood care center. Mike faced the dealer the invoice but the fact he didn’t want to fix someone’s error made at his place of business is unprofessional.
Amazing customer service! I called yesterday for an appointment for a oil change/maintenance routine check and was able to get one the next day! I was in & out in 30 minutes! I definitely recommend this shop if you’re looking for reliable service & a place that honors your appointment time slot! Im supremely impressed by the level of service, expertise, honesty, and friendliness I experienced while working with Mike at Oakwood. I was in the area from out of town, and needed a mechanic and Mike was very accommodating and went the extra mile for me even though he knew I wouldnt be a repeat customer since I was from out of town. Really appreciate him for that, and if Im ever back in the area with my car, I will definitely seek out his services. Thanks!
I have been bringing my cars to Oakwood Car Care for as long as they have been open. I have always been treated professionally and with care. Joe , the owner is always both personable and helpful. Mike, the manager is friendly, efficient, caring, knowledgeably, and ever so helpful. He oversees the work and you almost never have to come back after a repair.They always go the extra mile to help you out.I would recommend Oakwood to anyone who wants honest and quality service.

Oakwood Car Care has been our go to repair shop for years. Mike and Joe have taken care of all our cars including our kids cars. They couldnt be more thorough in checking for safety and in completing all necessary repairs. We truly believe that they are fairly priced and would never take advantage of us in any way. Theyve even given advice, when asked, on buying new vehicles. They are a great example of the wonderful service you can get at a small business.

I took my car there and it was diagnosed and taken care of right away. When I inquired how much I owed; the answer was nothing! I did not know that I have a 2 year warranty. I took my car to the Oakwood Car Care shop on Park Avenue (now replaced with a Subway) and had the ABSOLUTE WORST EXPERIENCE. I had curbed my car pretty seriously and needed a new control arm, wheel bearings and a reshaping of my front right rim. Everything looked great after completion, except they were never able to realign my steering (even though they said it was aligned perfectly, however I could deal with it). Long story short, three months down the line and $2000 dollars poorer, I ended up having to get all the parts replaced AGAIN by a proper mechanic. Turns out they never actually reshaped my rim, just polished it to make it look pretty. Never go here.
Joe, Mike and the rest of the guys at Oakwood are top notch. Anytime I need something done on my car they’re my go-to. If your looking for A+ knowledge & honest work when it comes to your vehicle repairs it’s a no brainer- head down to Oakwood
I cant recommend Oakwood Car Care enough. They are totally honest and ethical (not true of some car care and repair shops) and their prices are reasonable. Just as important, Oakwood is a family owned business making their reputation even more critical. Its obvious that Oakwood understands how important their reputation is and they go out of their way to satisfy customers. Oakwood Car Care not only cares for your car but totally cares for their customers. If your car needs repair or maintenance, I cant recommend Oakwood highly enough. You cant go wrong by taking your car there.

I recently visited oakwood care care on the recommendation of a friend. Needless to say I was very disappointed. I have several vehicles and am in the auto business and can tell you that this shop is subpar. I called originally and spoke to someone about an alignment and inspection. Told him the vehicle needed some front end work including a front spring and if it did not effect inspection to perform it. I dropped the vehicle off around 11:30 and had not heard anything by 4:30. So I called. Spoke to mike and he said stop down we will talk about the vehicle. I was expecting a call but had to call them. I arrive to find none of the work performed and a bill for an inspection with s fail result for a cracked front spring and a small crack in passenger side of windshield. Considering I told him the vehicle needed a front spring and you could see the crack in the windshield why would you try to inspect the vehicle. Shops do that for a quick buck and a scam. Also the alignment he could not perform due to cracked sting. I mentioned all of this on the phone booking the appointment then when I spoke to Mike. Bottom line at the labor rates they charge their are far better shops in the area with better customer service. This shop is a basic tire shop not a diagnostic and technical shop. Big waste of time and unfriendly staff.

Very rarely do you feel confident that your car is being taken care of and youre not being charged an arm and a leg. Joe, the owner, is a solid guy and I always leave there feeling as if I paid a great price and received quality service.
They are honest. Before I tried to find cheaper shops, so I went one on the 110 road, but after I realized they were deceiving me changing words. From that moment I decided to go to Oakwood. They charge a little bit more but they dont deceive and do a right job. Big thanks to Mike for his work.

Brought my car in for routine maintenance. Employees were rude and unhelpful. When I got back into my car there was a fowl smell that hasn’t gone away for days. Wouldn’t go here again

I travel from Queens for service for my cars. That should tell you that I find Oakwood reliable. Joe, the owner, and Mike, the manager, are easy to talk to and are very knowledgable in the automotive field.Oakwood has two shops, one on E.Polaski and the primary shop on the corner of Park Ave and Broadway. Both shops are easily seen from traffic. The parking areas are small, so call ahead for an appointment. The entrances are regular doorways.. There is handicap parking at the Park Ave site.They have a website that lists hours, however you can drop off your vehicle before working hours. The Huntington train station is about a mile west of the Park Ave site and about 2 mile north of the Polaski Ave site.Neither site is exactly child friendly and the waiting room is small so leave kids at home.

After traveling from Maine with 4 Tracking K9s in 87 degree temps, my AC unit decided to fail me. It wasnt long before my AC was running, engine and brake lines were checked, all fluids filled, and sharing of dog pics completed! Your team went out of the way to assist mine! 2022-06-23The mechanic Derek there is very nice. He took my car into the shop. He changed my oil, recommended a Lucus oil treatment with the oil change and explained the benefits on how it can prevent cold start up damage. He also recommended a tire rotation. He showed me that my tires in the front were wearing more than the rears and that the tire rotation would correct that in due time. I also went there for an inspection. I recommend this shop to anyone who wants their cars maintained properly for a decent price!

2022-07-10I went there today for a wheel alignment. Mike got me in and out within a few hours. I went to few other shops before stopping by them, but I was told that it was too late on a Saturday. I will definitively recommend them for accommodating walk-ins. Thanks.

2022-05-27Huge shout out to Joe and Henry at Oakwood Car Care Center in Huntington Station. I was driving home tonight when all of a sudden my car alerted me that my rear driver side tire was down to 6% (it normally warns me way before then so something drastic must have happened). I was trying to get to the nearest gas station and I looked up and saw Oakwood Car Care Center while I was at a traffic light and people were still there. I pulled in but they were just closing. I was about 20 miles from home so Joe asked one of the guys if they would stay late to help and Henry volunteered. Henry pulled a 3” strip of metal out of my tire - a couple of miles further and the tire would have been completely ruined. They went above and beyond, especially when everyone else just wanted to get home and start their holiday weekend. Highly recommend!

2021-08-27My 1st time using Oakwood Car Care and the experience was great! Mike did a great job aligning our Jeep Gladiators wheels and axles after a lift. He communicated the entire time and suggested some quick fixes that made it drive much better. Will definitely use again!

2021-09-11I visited Oakwood Car Care on Tuesday morning because I was getting a service code on my Honda Pilot that was telling me I needed to replace my rear differential fluid. My car also wouldn’t start normally. It required a jumpstart to get to Oakwood Car Center. I am a little over a year into my lease and the car just surpassed 10,000 miles. Joe encouraged me to take my car to Honda rather than have him do an oil change and replace the rear differential fluid because he said I shouldn’t need to replace the rear differential fluid so soon. I took his advice and Honda replaced my battery, which was causing the service code in the first place. Thanks to Joe, I didn’t pay for a service I didn’t need. Some mechanics might have just done as I asked without warning me that the code could be wrong and that I shouldn’t need that particular service so soon. But Joe didn’t. To me, that’s a sign of a person with good character. Thank you for your help, Joe.
