Long Beach is easily accessible for New Yorkers by train from Penn Station. The beach was clean and not too crowded. The water was warm and the waves were not too wild. Would highly recommend this beach!

Very nice scenery public bathrooms water fountains the only thing I would add is more workout sections great to watch the sunset great to watch all the movies on the beach Saturday night Live and the free concerts only thing that is missing that it needs more parking they have another empty field they can turn into parking so people who live in apartment buildings do not have to walk mile and a half at night to get home only thing that that I would change I mean if you cleaned up after your dog which most of Long Beach people do very nice and neat when you see them walking their dogs I dont see they would jeopardize messing up the beach in any way shape or form and it would be more bonding time between the dog owner and the owner worst that would happen otherwise its beautiful
Beautiful beach, very clean! Not crowded but mostly very organized. You dont want to leave from here, the concerts are nice and you can feel very good vibes here. Kids love it too
This beach gets extremely crowded and is not worth the $15 to get onto the beach. It’s mandatory that you carry around the plastic PLASTIC card that they punch which is beyond wasteful and extremely disappointing. On top of that, there’s a huge beach but only a small section you can swim in and it’s smaller that others. They wouldn’t even let people walk on the rocks which seems a bit much. Alcohol was allowed on the beach which you will need if you’re going to make it here for the long haul.
Our good friends live across the street from a portion of ocean beach; it’s beautiful. They charge $15 a person to get on for a day pass but once you’re there, it’s very quiet. The Atlantic is clean and the waves are nice. It’s a great beach for all ages. Cops roam the beach for people drinking and usually kick the drunk people off timely so that’s always nice. Beach is clean and they clear the ocean debris before the day starts. Really cool spot.
Once you figure out which parking lot is open, its a beautiful place.

Great place to longboard, bike, or just walk along the boardwalk. The beach is super nice, especially the rock outcroppings that let you stand among the ocean waves. Awesome beach to unwind, work out, or relax with friends.
The daily pass ($15) is worth every penny.
It is one of the nicest places to live if you consider its close proximity to the city.
Beautiful beaches even off season. Look into nonresident season passes if you dont live here but want to come often during July and August.
Amazing but the water was cold
Long Beach, Long Island - if a location can be described as gifted, that term would fit Long Beach. The actual Beach is one of the best beaches youll ever find, with soft no-rocks sand and a reasonably wide stretch from the Boardwalk to the ocean. The Boardwalk is a recreational mecca, with cyclists, runners and strollers all safely sharing its ample width. And the community abounds with restaurants. Residents are young, old, all across economic and ethnic lines. I dont live in Long Beach but I worked here for nine years and to me, its a second home.
Great place to spend an evening. Beach is clean and evenings are lovely.

Great place for a day trip from NYC. The beach is close to the train station. Never crowded, great lifeguards, clean, and fun. Easy access to bathrooms and food if you want. Would go back again and again.

The beach is nice and clean and the water was great. But the lifeguard could have a better attitude. I live in oyster bay but I love Long Beach. I came to the beach early cause I have things to do in the afternoon. I was here by 9:30. Still had to pay the 15 dollars. Around 11:15 I go to the water and slowly start getting use to it. When I was finally comfortable enough I went a little deeper. Just to have to lifeguard blow her whistle. She motions for me to walk to her. Then she says its 11:30 and its for surfers only. So I respond to her ok. Then she goes ok so why are you in the water. Mind you there was only two surfers in the water. I told her Im not from around here and I dont know all the rules and I saw two other ppl swimming so I thought it was ok. She responds with an attitude that they were lifeguards. They didnt have anything on that would identify them as lifeguards. She acted like Im supposed to know all the lifeguards on the beach. She couldve told me not to swim when she saw I was getting deeper into the water. Or She couldve been nicer and told me to swim away from the surfers. Which now there is only one. But I sill have to wait to 12 to swim.
Good beach to go with family or on a date. Older crowd, not good much fun for younger type crowd.
First time there but I couldnt fully enjoy the experience because it was raining. It looks very beautiful, even in heavy rain though. The surrounding area is also very, very nice. Will definitely have to go back when its not raining.
If youre looking for an inexpensive, easy to get to, quiet in the off-season place to just relax on the shore, this place is it. Was perfect to let us and our kids just relax.
Nice beach to spend the day and go for a swim. Great sunset.
Quiet and clean. Not crowded although I visited the weekend after Labor Day. Take everything you might need including snacks and entertainment because there’s not much provided along the boardwalk. You can bike the boardwalk which is a draw. Might try that next time. Simple and serene makes this a great spot.
I had so much fun playing by the volleyball nets.We went early so there was little to no people. Was very windy but still enjoyable.

We obtained season beach passes for non residents,if youre over 65, the price was $40.My wife is 61 years old,her price was $140 which I found to be exuberant.AARP considers seniors at 50 years old.We lived in Nassau County for 15 years,but there was NO ROOM FOR NEGOTIATION.
Boardwalk, Beach,Blue Sky, Bicycles, Arts&Crafts, Food Trucks. Perfect Day. Parking is TOUGH. Go early.
I like this one better than jones beach but u have to pay 12 dollars if u dont leave there and the parking is hard to find
Beautiful place. Walked down the boardwalk for the first day of spring and did not disappoint. Looking forward to coming here in the summertime 😎

Clean beach which seems more family oriented, quieter and not as rowdy as some others in the area. Because beach access is so tightly controlled, we had plenty of social distancing space on the 4th of July. We went early and had no problem finding nearby parking.

What a beautiful place to go on a summer day. Im the beautifully clean beaches to the wonderfully manicured Boardwalk on the weather is beautiful so is the environment at this beautiful Park. Unfortunately during the winter this place gets too cold to hang out at but when summertime rolls around you can count on Ocean Beach Park to be ready for all to come and have a great time at. What a wonderful environment.

Love the clean and tranquil beach scene, note that all the restaurants and bars are about three blocks away from the beach and boardwalk. So if you plan on spend your whole day at the beach, you might want to pack all your going to need. No real hip scene either, just good family fun

Very clean, very scenic
Nice lengthy boardwalk with plenty of beach access points. Somewhat easy to find free parking in the fall especially during weekdays. I would suggest bringing your own food or snacks as there are only a few options along the boardwalk, and are very spread out. The sand on the beach is well maintained and clean, great for kids to play.
Its pretty but no better than any other beach Ive been to. All the other places are free. Never again would I go there. It is absolutely insane to pay when there are more beaches just as nice and beautiful

Beach was clean and water was great. Its super easy to get to from the LIRR and I personally prefer paying to get onto a beach if its nicer to keep it clean. There were also tons of beach volleyball nets set up for anyone to use.

The murals are a sight to see and are fascinating up close. The bar and restaurant have some good beach food options but I wasnt impressed with the drinks. However the Highlight for many will be the beach. I look forward to returning
A beautiful place to go out for a solitary walk or a jog. Its also a perfect place to bring your friends or family especially when the weather is good. Moreover, this is the place where I had one of the loveliest conversations ever. I just sat on a bench and talked for hours with a dear cousin while basking in the gentle warmth of the sun and feeling the breeze from the ocean. Surely, a memory that will last a lifetime.
Beautiful and much cleaner than NYC beaches. The depth is fairly shallow so you can safely wade pretty far away from the beach. Newly rebuilt boardwalk after Hurricane Sandy. Very modern and clean looking.

A beautiful beach and boardwalk is really the heart of Long Beach. The ocean stretches out for as far as you can see and the water is crystal clear, except when the waves come crashing in!Its certainly worth the trip and the cost to experience this two mile stretch of beauty.
$15 per person to enjoy the beach as in sand and water very disappointing.however its a lovely beach. The life guard was very rude, I understand its her job to make sure everything is ok. But come one her behavior was terrible.
The beach was full of flies. In the hour or so that I was there I knocked down around 30 flies but new ones kept coming.For the $15 they charge for admission they should: clean the garbage cans/place plastic bags inside, clean the sand, and spray.
Nice beach and boardwalk. Need more places to eat. Very clean so thats a plus. Parking was good but its the end of September when I was there.
It was great to go back to the board walk and see what a great job the city did. After the hurricane.

Ocean beach is nice
Not the greatest when it comes to age diversity. My daughter is almost 4 now and the park is geared for kids 4-6. It is small, but right off the Boardwalk. I usually try to let my daughter play in the park for a bit before trekking the remainder of the Boardwalk.

Favorite beach trip from NYC. Easy to get to from Penn station, get the beach getaway package and save $5 on a beach pass. Stop by Stop & Shop for lunch or drinks, the beach is clean and has lifeguards on duty. Dont get caught drinking on the beach though as police walk by and ticket anyone being obvious about drinking (glass bottles visible.)

Clean, quiet, serene place.I was there for the sunset and it was worth it. The food trucks were a mixed bag, but Taco Tuesdays definitely highly recommended.
Great place to clear your mind....
Thanks to some of the most awesome pholks on Earth (Thx Roy & Elise!), I scored an entire day on the beach including the pass, folding chairs, towels and a jeep to store my Phish cups in. This gift was presented toward the end of the 13 night BakersDozen Phish residency in NY. Our host treated us to REAL NY city pizza at Ginos and a fantastic time, to say the least. I was impressed at the very little garbage/plastic I cleaned up that day, as well as the runners on the East Coast...they all seemed to keep truckin like the Energizer bunny.

Very small ocean front park with a playground for kids. There is street parking depending on the time of day and season. Great for when the kids are getting bored of the water.

The boardwalk is one of the best reasons to visit Long Beach and here is where the food trucks all sit, giving you multiple options. You can even mix and match cuisines with bites from several.

Waters are always pretty rough but the beach is nice. Having restaurants and little areas right behind the buildings is great.
I loved the ambiance, quiet on the streets, safe for females to walk at night from the restaurants in town to the boardwalk. Locals are very friendly and welcoming.
BUT seriously . $15 per person (non resident) is ABSURD ! Should be $10 & a donation .. or $10 then additional $5 per additional person. ( Still a nice place though non the less )
Nice but not like it use to be there more water than there is beach but has food for those with expensive taste and big pockets or wallets..the hotels are ok

Beautiful sugar Sandy Beach. Friendly, boardwalk eateries, movies/music on the beach. Walk to town. 1 hour train to Penn Station, NYC 24/7.

Its a beach near NYC itll serve its purpose. Wasnt too crowded and was pretty clean. But its expensive, they raised their prices to $15 for a day pass to get onto the beach.

Clean!!! Its a little pricey if you get there after 9am ($15 per person) but youre paying for the location & being away from loud obnoxious ppl. This place gets packed tho, so go early!
Decent beach, knocked off a couple of stars for 1) bunch of seaweed in the water, and 2) fair amount of white trash. It was also pretty fun taking the LIRR with these folks...

Very nice beach to relax yourself. You can also rent umbrella and bench there, the transportation is convenient too.

Enjoyable beach I went at night time and as great as it was the homeless people living below the docks throws it off.

My neice had a blast, this was our second trip to the beach this summer. The water was murky because it rained a day or two before.

One of my favorite beaches to visit in Long Beach L. I., its a small quaint city with a vintage whimsical flair yet a modern appeal to it.
It is an amazing beach. You can get there by LIRR or car. Definitely a place you will enjoy.

Was surprised they charge $15 a person to access the beach. Have been to many beaches on south east and have never paid to enjoy any beaches.

Nice Beach with Broadwalk. We went in a weekend and there a bunch of stores set up on boardwalk like a flea market.

2022-06-16Had a great time, peacefully and relaxing, great place to catch some sun. Nice and clean well maintained beach. I really enjoyed the Beach, I was there a day after Memorial Day so it was perfect not so crowded, Great board walk, good Facilities and after labor day no charge to get in great parking, by the way no dogs allowed. I recommend and definitely coming back again.

2022-05-23A really nice and clean beach. We went just out of season and the beach was quite empty. There are some big waves which will knock little kids over. I only gave it 4 stars because there appeared to be no conveniences, such as bathrooms, anywhere. The area is quite built up so not sure if it is just expected that you would use conveniences in the hotels nearby???

2021-07-07Excellent location for soaking up the sun and cooling off in the Atlantic. This beach is definitely worth its $15.00 (non-resident) entry fee. The beach/sand is well kept, waves are great, and the life guards are always aware of the activities in the water. Restrooms are available and the boardwalk is maintained very well. Theres a small parking lot as well as a more challenging local parking in and around the area.

2020-08-19Adults have to pay $15 to get in. There is a lot of seaweed by the water. It was not crowded which was great. Arrived at ard 11 and left at 5 and it was not crowded at all. Everyone was well spaced and also wore their masks. Would definitely come back.

2022-06-23Regular visitor to this beach for years, so i think i want to share the pros and cons with you:- The beach is nice, sand is good and its kept clean. Five stars.- The city has managed to remove all showers from the ramps leading to the beach 2 years ago and despite the insanely high beach pass prices, not managed to reinstall them. Poor showcase of major complacency. Minus one star.- There are no drink, food or any kind of vendors on most of the boardwalk. Minus one star.- The lifeguards constantly squeeze the visitors into a controlled area of the ocean where your fellow swimmer is more dangerous to you than the sea. I understand its to keep things safe, but it really is not safe to see people squeezed together in wake. Minus one star.After all Long Beach has rested too long trying to harvest every penny from the beach and not spending money on it. It shows.‐--------Edit 2022A year later, not a single shower built, but price hiked to 15 bucks... Thats Long Beach for you in a nutshell...
