Great stay right on the beach! We loved our little “studio” like room. It was so cozy, clean and made us feel right at home. It’s about a 10 minute drive to the downtown area and was perfect for exploring Montauk and Hamptons alike! Would recommend and will be returning in the future
My boyfriend and I just returned home from staying 3 nights at Ocean Vista. Everything from check-in to check-out was outstanding. We traveled from upstate NY and decided to stop and see some friends on our way down the island. I called the front desk to let them know we’d be late. We arrived around 10pm and had our keys waiting for us in the mailbox. We were extremely impressed with the cleanliness of our room and all of the extra amenities it offered. Because Friday was rainy, we decided to go into Montauk and do some shopping. Ocean Vista is in close proximity to the town, but far enough away that you’re not in the midst of all the crowds. Saturday we spent the day on the beach. Ocean Vista provides you with umbrellas and beach chairs. Having the private beach was a HUGE perk, especially as we’re still recovering from the pandemic. All around, we had an amazing trip and can’t wait to come and stay at Ocean Vista again. Thank you!!!!
Stayed here for labor day weekend and I found my favorite hotel in Montauk. Friendly staff, clean facilities, on the beach, useful kitchenette, comfortable beds. The hotel is conveniently located between three stores that you can walk in 4 minutes. On the left Best Pizza (grandmas pie was awesome) and Goldbergs Bagel (must for coffee and breakfast) and on the right side of the hotel you can find Mortys Oyster Stand (very satisfying). If you are looking for snobby luxury then please pay the price and go to Gurneys.
Overall we had a good stay. Great location and the “president” of the hotel was amazing- he helped accommodate us when we inadvertently sat in chairs that were owned by the resort next door. Trip was left sour when management berated us at the end for not leaving the housekeeper a tip- despite our room only being cleaned one night out of our stay. Also had to make repeated requests for toilet paper, made our own bed, and took our own trash out all weekend. Had been hoping to stay here again but being screamed at by management was a major turnoff- huge bummer.
Good location a few miles east of Montauk. The room we stayed in was clean. And roomy The beds were comfortable. The bathroom was large and clean with a really nice shower. The kitchen included a stove small ice box and microwave. We had a pleasant stay and would recommend it
The resort was clean and comfortable, with incredibly beautiful beach access. The staff was friendly and helpful. We did not use the mini kitchen in the room, but having it was a pleasant surprise and would be very helpful for longer stays. Having the pool was also very convenient, since we didnt have to freeze in the ocean to swim.
We loved our stay at Ocean Vista! The location was perfect - right on the beach and a short drive to our favorite things to do in both East Hampton and Montauk. Our room was clean and spacious and the grounds were quiet and well appointed. The staff were also very friendly and helpful.Well definitely be back to stay again!
The location can’t be beat. A short walk up a dune to the ocean. The view is spectacular. Only downfall is the resort houses owners who live there all year round. If you don’t like people stomping over your head, request a second floor suite. We were in room 113 and the owner above us was an early riser and heavy on her feet. I was woken each morning at 7:30 with stomping above my head. Grounds could have been cleaned more often as there were tons of cigarette butts near the eating areas. I know people are slobs, but come on clean up. Other than that, the stay was awesome.
Perfect place for a relaxing visit out east. Location is amazing! You are right on the beach, unbeatable. 5 minute drive to the main town of Montauk and 5 mins to the main town of Amagansett. Walking distance to some of the best restaurants around there. Rooms were very clean and had everything we needed. We comfortably fit 4 people in a room, bathrooms were large. Highly recommend! Thank you
My girlfriend and I stayed here over the weekend of 9/21/18 spur of the moment, there were 2 ladies that were working the desk (etc) and I only wish I knew there names so I could mention them because they were extremely nice and helpful. The room was nice & clean, it had a tiny kitchen with a 2 burner stove, microwave, toaster, coffee maker & fridge. The bed was VERY comfy & the bathroom nice a roomy. The beach was just feet away with lounge chairs and umbrellas. So overall we would love to and definitely will visit again. Thank you Vista.
This resort was lovely to stay in. While the rooms are a bit small for more than three people, they were cozy, and you could make yourself at home. Each room is slightly different, but comes with dishes, silverware, cooking utensils, and extra blankets and pillows. Ample space to sleep since there were multiple fold out couches. Nice short walk to a lovely beach, large swimming pool and sauna, tennis court, and outdoor eating areas. The only downside is the parking lot, which is not very big, and made of gravel. Other than that, its an amazing place to stay!
Location is kind of in the middle of nowhere. Its smack dab in between the Hamptons and Montauk. So cab fares can get pricey and add up fast. But do those looking to get away from all the hustle and bustle, this is a nice location. It has a heated indoor pool, and private beach access. Rooms have a full kitchenette stocked with dishes and silverware, etc.
Pool is indoors, functional sauna. Room was attractive and updated with beachy decor. Private beach is short walk and Lounge chairs and umbrellas are available to guests for no charge. Resort was quiet and peaceful. we were able to stay an extra hour which was appreciated. Downfalls: far from downtown Montauk and with no car the cab rides were pricey. Also the shower was very small, leaked all over the bathroom and the bed was quite firm and squeaky. Would stay again but would bring car or rent vehicle.
A peculiar set of arrangements and oddities characterised my brief stay at Ocean Vista Resort- yet ultimately one from which a superlative experience emerged. I say this due to the downright uncanny disparity in character and spirit between the overall resort (and its sundry amenities, such as tennis court, conference room/bar, and sand) and the specific room in which I stayed- room 223.Now, that is not to say the former elements were lacking in any way- they too possessed a warm charm of their own. But the frankly otherworldly aura of room 223, achieved via some ethereal and inscrutable combination of its decor, furnishing, and seemingly strategic placement (highlighted by its sheer superiority to neighbouring room 224), surpassed every one of my expectations for a leisurely weekend excursion.
Great location and right off the dune next to the beach. The rustic charm is what helps you overlook the lack of attention to detail when cleaning rooms. We found a womans scarf under the bed. However, our room was updated and visually (the upgrades) looked great. However, the shower leaked more water down the shower head then came out of the shower head and there looked like nail polish on my comforter. Each room is different but the same overall size but some have larger bedrooms and smaller bathrooms while ours was smaller bedroom and large bathroom. The pool is indoors and they have a meeting/party room that was extremely dated. The female manager (owner?) wasnt the most pleasant person. The room rate was cheaper online (mid July $280ish) then what she told me in person @ $350.00 a night. Not worth it unless you just want to be on the beach....and in the Hamptons.
Place is an overall a dump for these $$$, needs to be professionally spray for Mosquitoes and ticks in the table area. Sauna is poor and they control it from the desk No umbrella on the sand without having to first ask and carry it yourself. No time limit on the one Tennis court so one guest spend two hours and I never played. By back window in bathroom was busted and this placed has not been unkept for several year. Employees here are VERY strange and lock up lobby at 6pm and thus the indoor pool and Sauna and prices are of course Hamptons summer prices for a slightly better then Motel shack.
We stayed at Ocean Vista during an extended Memorial Day weekend in 2019. As a 25-year New York City resident, our family has owned houses in Southampton, and vacationed during summers in Bridgehampton, Sag Harbor and East Hampton. I must say that Ocean Vista is the best kept secret. First, its in the middle of Amagansett and Montauk next to the beach. The rooms are beautifuly maintained and the staff are friendly and helpful. Its calm, which is a nice retreat from all the Hamptons hustle and bustle. Yet, theres easy access to all the amazing restaurant and boutiques. See you there soon:)!

2022-06-17We stayed in a double queen bed room, which was a bit tight but the location is great. There is a path right onto the beach. And having an indoor pool was a lifesaver. The pool is big and clean. The staff was kind and so accommodating.

2021-10-19We stayed the night at the very end of the season. The beach is a very short walk away. Each room is a little different but they all seam to be very nice as we saw two of them. The indoor pool we my favorite. The water was nice and warm. Down town Montauk is a short drive away. You can walk to a few restaurants near by. We had a very nice stay.

2021-08-04Beautiful and right on the beach. Couldn’t ask for anything more. Loved the peacefulness at the resort with only a minutes drive to town. Rooms were kept very clean and having a kitchenette was very convenient. We love the ocean, but indoor pool is great for a rainy day. Our kind of vacation. Can’t wait to return. Many thanks to Pam, resort manager, for her fine hospitality.

2021-09-20The place is clean but smells like mildew. Was very close to the beach and had a tennis court but lots of young children there most the weekend.. so lots of noise and running back and forth from 7:30am until 9pm. Hard to have a romantic getaway with the sound of children yelling out most the time. The mattresses are cheap, the walls are thin and I felt like we were in a cheap motel but the rate was $300 per night I did not sleep well either... had nightmare... the place could use a psychic clearing. Otherwise, its close enough to town and the bathroom was large, big shower... very nice.. and the kitchen area was nice also. I would not stay there again.

2021-06-13I booked a very last minute weekend trip for the first weekend of June. My daughter was turning 12 and said all she wanted was to be outside and on the beach for her birthday. I AM SO GLAD WE FOUND THIS GEM! We checked in late so the key was exactly where they said it would be. The room was beyond our expectation and the next day we found out from the NICEST woman at the front desk they gave us a surprise upgrade. We were steps from the path to the beach and most importantly the room was SO CLEAN! I fully intend to come back with the rest of my family and have been recommending everyone to consider staying here! Anne K

2021-08-05My fiancé and I stayed here for the weekend with another couple and we all really enjoyed our time here. The location is close to town but far enough so that the beach (that is just steps away from the room) isn’t super crowded. Across the street is a great bagel place / deli (Goldberg’s) and an awesome pizza place (BEST pizza). This hotel still has an authentic Montauk vibe, not the ritzy trendy overpriced vibe that seemingly every other place in this town has turned into. It’s clean, the staff is super friendly, and the location is tough to beat. Oh and there’s an indoor swimming pool, ping pong table room, tennis courts, and free lounge chairs on the beach. Can’t wait to come back!
