Just ok Mexican food, and slightly expensive for the quality. The torta was a bit flavorless, probably because there wasn’t much birria on it in favor of a lot of refried beans. The birria was also just shredded beef without any seasoning. The bread could have also benefited from toasting to provide some texture. Tacos were ok, but nothing was stand out. They also never brought out our salsas, despite requesting a few timesWe also waited a really long time for the food to come out, despite ordering way before the lunch rush.
Impressive salad! Hearty, fresh avocado and chicken salad for a great price. The big chain salad restaurants (you know who they are) will charge you $10 more for half the salad. The bowl was PACKED and I had plenty left over for a second meal. The avocado was perfectly ripe and creamy. Grilled chicken had a nice flavor. All ingredients were fresh. Will definitely order again.
Came here because of the glowing reviews. Wish I had not. The guacamole is clearly whipped. Resulting in a strange blended creamy texture that does not taste fresh. The mole tamale was fine/bland. The chorizo taco was so heavy and oily that I was unable to eat it. Taco Al Pastor was OK.
Tasty, affordable food that arrived before the delivery window! We had a delicious feast with enough leftover for lunch the next day. I got enchiladas and my boyfriend got a chicken quesadilla, which were both great. Will definitely order again for Mexican food night!
I knew it was something wrong with the restaurant, when me and my guess was the only one there. My gut told me to leave but some of my guess wanted to stay. Service is horrible food was terrible the an not edible. They steak was dry and old and left a fishy taste on my palate. When asking the manager is the food fresh he replied they get fresh deliveries every day. This was a Friday night around 7 o clock at night and me and my guess was the only customers. There is no way you have fresh food delivered everyday and have no customers it dont add up. I was very disappointed. I still pay for the food that was somewhat edible. Generally feel bad for the owner of the establishment knowing with food and service like that his business cant stay afloat for long. Authentic Mexican food should be a burst of fresh flavors Chilis, spices and more. 4/23/2021
Server was great, awesome and attentive. Food came fast. That’s where it ends. We ordered two Chile relleno, one with cheese the other shredded chicken. Beans came straight out of a can while the rice seemed freshly cooked. The guacamole looked and tasted fresh. We requested their hottest salsa. It was bland, not hot at all. The entire plate was cold, like when you take your food out of the microwave too early and the food is cold on the inside. Never had a cold chile relleno. They should’ve kept it in the microwave longer. Even cold, the food had little flavor, plain and boring. Expensive and a real disappointment. Thumbs down.
Im giving this restaurant a 4 star rating, because the owner & employees was exceptionally nice. It was a pleasure to dine there. Not to mention the backyard is nice & cozy, as well as the inside of the little restaurant. Its like a homey feeling. And they make you feel at home as well. The food was good, but it wasnt great. There was nothing exceptional about my tacos. But I must say, the nachos was really good (a few came with my tacos). But I didnt care for the green salsa to much. But my experience as a whole, was a GREAT one.
This place is wonderful!! The food is very good. Coming from California I’ve been desperately searching for a burrito that delivers, and this place did not disappoint. The flavors are on point, everything is cooked and seasoned really well. I was quite impressed and will definitely be returning.Bonus the people there are so nice and really make you feel welcome.AND they have an incredibly cute back garden patio. It’s also BYOB, which is all the making for a very chill Saturday afternoon :)
Love this new spot! Food was delicious - I had the fajita plate and my husband had the chicken mole. Prices were fair, food was tasty, and had a lovely backyard for Covid safe outdoor dining. Plus its BYOB right now which is always a great thing! Staff was nice too. Highly recommend.
I would strongly recommend Ojalá Mexican Restaurant in Clinton Hill/ Fort Greene, Brooklyn. The food was delicious, authentic and generous at a very affordable price (plus, it’s BYOB). Excellent detailed respectful and accommodating service. Cozy warm decoration. Large beautiful garden. A very rewarding experience overall.
Nachos and the quesadilla w/ squash blossom - que delicioso! Easy eating for vegetarians and carnivores alike 🤗 Our server Rosa was amazingly sweet and shared the best recos 🌸 beautiful backyard with a cover so don’t let the rain deter youHot tip: BYOB from Olivina across the street or a nearby bodega - highly recommend a bottle of Txokolina from Olivina
Its a small place and I actually missed it while walking on foot on Fulton St. One of those rainy days and its in the middle if the block. There was plenty of space inside to maintain social distancing. There were only 4 tables inside. Since my buddy and I sat inside, there were quite a few people coming in for pickup.Due to the times, you order at the counter and you sit down. We ordered the guacamole and chips 1st which was very fresh. The chips were thicker than I prefer but they were fresh and does not break when you scoop! Also ordered the pozole soup, which was some pieces of chicken with the thick corn in a low spice broths. It was perfect for the chilled rainy day. My buddy ordered the steak fajita while I got the chicken poblano which was a nice size portion and they both came with rice and either black beans or refried beans. We also got 3 soft fresh tacos. I also tried the non alcohol sangria that reminded me of malta. The food was very fresh and a welcome addition to the neighborhood since I cannot think of an authentic Mexican place in the area.
I love this place! They not only do they make great food (try the Birria tacos!), but the ambiance and service is unique. Also, best Tres Leches and Horchata I’ve had in the city. Definitely recommend sitting in the patio, they put a lot of effort into building it and it shows.
Finally the homey Mexican we needed on Fulton Street! Their Oaxaca style tamales are outstanding, especially the mole one, and so are the tacos... Th people in there are also super nice.. Try to order directly from their website, and there is a nice discount! ojalamexican.com
This place is the best. We’ve been twice, once for pick up and once to eat in. Both times we felt like we were getting a steal considering how good the food was for the prices. Seriously, the food is SO good and SO reasonably priced. I’ve paid double for food half as good. The people are all so incredibly kind as well. An added bonus is the garden, which is so cute and comfortable.
I ate here on a Sunday afternoon with my friend and the food and service was amazing. Its a nice size place, not much foot traffic, but it has a lively atmosphere all the same. Rosa was a great waitress and very friendly and helpful. The nachos were $12 and they were definitely worth it, in quantity and quality.I got the quesadilla, which doesnt come with any sides, sadly, but after eating the nachos I didnt need it that much. My friend got the enchiladas which came with a lot of rice and beans and was amazing. Overall 10/10

2022-04-24The spot is nice. I eat on the backyard witch is all rocks leaving table and sets uneven. The Guacamole was way to thick for my liking. My shrimp dish had a sauce that was great . I give it a 3.5

2022-05-17A great experience with classic Mexican food. They have a great menu of options to choose from. We had the tacos which hit the spot, with plenty of meat and sauces. Pork is very juicy and flavorful and the chicken is a nice flavor but is a little dry. They have a lovely backyard with plenty of space to sit and eat. The staff was fast and friendly too. Easy to get to and is off the C train. Great place to get food! 🇲🇽🌯🌮

2021-08-14I had the Fish taco lunch special. It was a good meal that filled me up. I pre-ordered through ChowNow, it still a few minutes more to have my order ready. The fish was a bit too small and way too many onions. I am going to retry with chicken or vegetable to see if theres a difference. Staff was pleasant. Restaurant was clean and open air. I will definitely ordering for a lunch again.

2022-06-20What a great spot to have in the neighborhood! The backyard is a hidden gem, and it’s partially covered so you could eat back there rain or shine. For right now it’s BYOB (and conveniently located next to several bodegas) but their liquor license is coming soon. Their El Cuate burrito (I got carnitas) perfectly hits the spot when you get that “I need a big tasty burrito” feeling.

2022-03-28The delivery was super on time, very well packaged, great amount of food and delicious! I had a veggie Fajitas Platter; loved the veggies (right amount of spicy and not oily). Would definitely order again.
