Ok great barbeque in the middle of no where long island?? What?!Hell to the yeah! Heading back from the Hamptons and the fam wanted bbq to end our awesome night and as we coasted along 495, this spot was enroute towards our final destination, had the eat in and outside patio option and also open late on a Sunday, so triple brownies score there!Staff was really nice from the host to our waitress and seating inside and out was ample and apart so it was comfortable and safe. We placed our order with the host and then given a number to bring to our table where our waitress took our drinks order and then our food was brought out to us.My dinner peeps gave everything 2 thumbs up, 5 stars and then some. Ordered the Cheeseburger that came with smoked gouda cheese melted on top, the pulled ribs, the smoked brisket, and a smoked half chicken with fries, mashed sweet potatoes, mac and cheese, house-made veggie pickles and corn bread for the sides. Loved the fatty marbling on the brisket, the chicken was not dry at all, the smoked gouda worked well on the burger and the pulled pork had a nice sweet and spicy kick to it. The sides were very good but wished the candied pecans were a tad sweeter and crunchier since the sweet potatos natural sweetness wasnt present. They also served up a variety of bbq sauces on the side and the only one that was a bit disappointing was the Carolina sauce... They got the vinegar part right but thats all you tasted...A bit aways from the main highways but totally worth the detour! Will definitely be back! Eat local!!
First I almost walking in saw the step down, didnt know there was ramp which I tripped on. The girl at the register didnt understand me, the kid to the right did. Chicken and pork were okay, the hamburger tasted wired I get better at my local deli. The tomato on the burger was so thin it fell apart,no flavor. Mac and cheese portion was a small portion for $5 and had a strange taste couldnt identify. The peach cobbler was over cooked and sweet it taste like peaches. Havent tasted the pies yet ,but they dont look good. It sucks you order over the phone, only good thing the order was ready quick.
So we decided to try Old Fields thinking it was similar to the Port Jeff or Greenlawn locations. Food listed on the wall behind counter wih items in 3 inch letters, prices are 1/2 inch high and not readable.Small space, no menu, limited selection. You need to place your own order. Ordered 2 brisket. Tray came with 6 slices thats 6 dollars a slice! Also ordered 1 half of ribs they were dry and bland. An order of fries and 2 mac and cheese. Sides were smallest portions imaginable. Bill topped $95.00. Will never go back.
Came here on a Saturday night, first time experience. Food is great, but the service was alright. Their system is you have to place an order first and you are queued in for a table based on availability. A lot of newcomers behind us in line were confused about the dine in (not your usual check in for a table and wait) and did not know what to order which backed up a line. Well we purposely chose takeout due to limited tables and our order for 3 people took longer than expected (1 hour wait). They kept fulfilling orders for customers that dined in which was disappointing. The restaurant is pretty small and feels confined when waiting in the back to order food. I would recommend ordering takeout here vs eating inside.
Large portions and great drinks too, an almost Texas style barbecue as the owners toured the country pulling their flavors from multiple styles of barbecuing. The Collard greens with chorizo were better than my families in the South make it (dont tell me Auntie that to her face though LOL).
Came on a Friday night around 5:30 pm. There was plenty of open seating. We ordered several meats and side dishes, all of which arrive on a platter for everyone to pick from. The size of each portion of meat is only 1/2 a pound, which actually isnt that much food for one person. But, what I like about this restaurant is that the waiter keeps your food tab open, and you can just order an additional serving if you are still hungry.Id recommend the ribs and corned beef!
This place is amazing!I haven’t had beef brisket this good since I was in Alabama. There entire menu is a true representation of good southern eating. First off there completely causal. I came in and plopped down at the bar, the bartender gave me the complete low down on ordering and the food. Very hospitable. Then he started me off with a sampler platter. I had some beef brisket, which crumbled as I picked it up and melted in my mouth. The half chicken was succulent and moist. The Ribs melted of the bones and the corn bread, THE CORN bread!!! Omg. It was the best corn beef I have ever had. (Period)! This food was so good I went for a second round. This time off the happy hour menu, where I got to sample all there other foods. I’m telling you now, each thing was better then the next. And then the cook/owner/manager? Scott came over and introduced himself. And provided me with a complimentary peach cobbler desert. So right now I can’t move, but when I’m done with my heart attack, I will definitely be back for more!
BBQ meats were solid: 4 starsSides were even better: 5 stars (dang baked beans)Drinks were awesome: 5 starsService also great: 5 starsIf our ribs had been a tad less dry, and the brisket a bit better salted (a bit under-salted today) it would have been perfect all around.
Great bbq!!!!! And a nice bar, all priced right also great music!Since its been open I have gone like every other week, great BBQ, the brisket alone is worth it, ribs are A+ they have a thing called a pulled rib in Korean flavor that is unique and interesting,Pulled chicken too, and of course pulled chicken both are excellentDrinks are solid and creative, they infuse things very coolWine listBeer in tap changes and they Aways have something cool .I really like this place, it now has table service, gotten better
My husband and I were first timers and everything was amazing. The atmosphere was very cozy. Everyone was friendly and very helpful. Our waiter, Andy made us feel comfortable. Every bite was made with love. Thanks to everyone for an awesome experience. We will definitely come back and visit.
Took take out here last night. Food was old tasting not fresh. Brisket very dry Ribs tasted that they were sitting for a few days and left over. Coleslaw was sour and soggy not fresh. Afterwards the whole family had food poisoning. I would never go during the week maybe on the weekend they cook fresh but not during the week
First time for us. Brisket was dry. Sweet potatoes would have tasted better if it wasn’t cold. We brought it to their attention and it was exchanged. Very good topped with pecans served hot I’m sure the Mac and Cheese would have been good but we didn’t order that side dish. Restaurant made good by giving it to us on the house. The baked beans that we had ordered instead were just okay. Ribs were good. At least we tried something new. We are still searching for a Texas equivalent of BBQ up North.
Was only able to try the sandwiches on St. Patrick’s Day and came away satisfied. Just a step below Texas bbq, meat was juicy though not as tender or fatty. Sandwich creation were very interesting and toppings really complemented each meat. Loved the side bbq sauces especially the peach habanero. Like the atmosphere, very open and cafeteria style.
Pulled pork and cornbread were excellent, ribs were OK. Waitress was very attentive. Didnt love the atmosphere. Wierd set up. You go to the back to order your food, then find a table on your own and waitress shows up for drink orders etc. Sat by the bar and it was super loud. More bar that serves some food atmosphere than restaurant. Not what I expected for Huntington area.
Ribs and brisket are awesome. Collard greens delicious (Im from the North Carolina and it was like home). Mac and cheese too cheesy. Baked beans was more juice than bean (unless we were given the bottom of the barrel). It was pricey (almost $90 and we had no drinks, just water). I can find the taste for less in sure. Cafeteria like. You have to get your tray of food and go to the bar and get your drinks. Tables, who ever gets the first.
Nice BBQ joint. Got takeout, staff was extremely friendly and the restaurant seemed very clean. The portion size was very good for the price. The chorizo and ribs had amazing flavor. The brisket was very tasty and had a good meat flavor, just not a huge BBQ flavor. The sauces were all amazing though.
Awesome BBQ. You buy your meat by the pound at the counter and take it back to your booth or table. Great food and sauces. If you come with a group, just get one of everything and share it. Bartenders friendly and the place had a good vibe. We are definitely coming back!
I really liked this place. Needed a place to eat go and I have seen this before so I decided to go here. That was a great choice, the food was amazing, and service was quick. Think I found a new hotspot. Try the bourbon sauce with the ribs, that was lip smacking. Cornbread was amazing as well, and the mac and cheese was out of this world! Come here with a big appetite.
Amazing BBQ! I love BBQ and Ive been looking around Long Island for the best. I found excellent restaurants. But this one has a ton going for it.You walk into a large bar and dining area. Its nicely decorated in rustic style with very cool memorabilia. Nice booths, family style tables, bar, etc. I didnt know how it was set up so I asked. You just mozy on down to the back order your meat(s) and fixins and sit. At the table if you wish or at the bar and get some drinks. Ez casual, I like it! The water is served in chilled old liquor bottles, I dig it. Tons of sauce at each table, get your own utensils.Meats:Brisket- off the hook amazing. Juicy, smoky, lots of great bark, and a nicely pronounced smoke ring. Flavor notes; peppery, hints of coffee, savory and tender inside. Just eat it and youll discover the complexity.Half rack of ribs- Crusty dark bark with lots of flavor. Then a beautiful pink smoke ring around the outside which is so hard to find in most BBQ joints. Takes work to get that. Sweet succulent savory porky 🐷 goodness.Id give this BBQ joint 10 stars. PS sides were also great! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Smoked a nice cigar from across the street afterwards at Huntington Humidor. Perfect end to a great smoked meat fest.
Stopped by Old Fields last evening for dinner after wanting to try it for a while. Ordered half rack of Baby Backs, Brisket, Chorizo sausage, Mac and Cheese, and Corn Bread. To start out, the atmosphere is great with great music playing and a friendly welcoming staff. As far as the food, the ribs and brisket ... while smoked adequately in terms of tenderness were missing taste in the bark. You really had to use bbq sauce in order for them to have any taste. So while the consistency was perfect, the taste was not.The Chorizo was top notch - 10/10.The Mac and Cheese was better than most bbq mac and cheese and the cornbread was very good. The cornbread was not as sweet as other cornbreads that Ive had but I like it that way.The place has promise, but the bark needs work.
Came here on a friday night no wait or line. This restaurant is cafeteria style. You go up to the counter and order what you want. Staff is very friendly and attentive. Menu is small and simple. I recommend the pulled pork, corn bread, mashed potatoes, cole slaw and mac and cheese. Overall the place is very laid back and causal. Highly recommend it and i will be back. The sauces are also amazing. They also have a bar in the front!
My husband loved this place. Very fast service. Typical BBQ place yet a unique experience for a restaurant. Order your food at the counter and have a seat. The restaurant is large and fairly dark. The roasted nuts were great. Hubby loved the pork and corn bread. Tender pork.
After having everything on the menu over the course of a few visits. Its a solid spot if youre craving bbq in the north east. I feel they rely on the flavor of the sauces to carry some offerings. The pulled pork on its own is smoky, but thats about it. Will I eat here again? Yes. Will I recommend it? Yes.
Let me tell you this is one of the best dining experiences I had. Melissa and Gianna our servers were super friendly. The food was fresh and so good. The corn bread with the honey butter and the creamed spinach was out of this world. I also noticed they are very sanitary cleaning all the tables after each table gets up and they are all wearing masks. I am very pleased with my the staff and the food. I will definitely make this a regular spot. Thanks again to our wonderful servers.
A la carte style food ordered at the counter, indoor & outdoor seating, table service after initial order. Solid specialty drinks - especially the mango jalapeno margarita - and not a bad bite of food was had. Creamed spinach and pulled pork were top notch. Old Fields quality through and through. Excited to go back~
Great atmosphere. Strong adherence to covid safety. Signs everywhere. Some guy walked in without a mask. The staff immediately addressed it and offered a mask. Food was spectacular, decently priced. Briskets were perfectly done. Sausages were great. Small issue was that peach cobbler was cold. Great service. Plenty of indoor/outdoor seating.
Oh my goodness! Who is the chef? Who’s grandma/grandpa is back there making the collard greens and how did they find my late Nana’s recipe?! Haha, sooo good, only place out here (besides my mother’s) who I can trust to make some good collards! Cornbread, baked beans, and pulled pork good as well. Love it!
Absolutely AMAZING food here. Some of the best BBQ I have ever had, and I used to spend a lot of time in South Carolina. Their Carolina vinegar sauce, its divine. I tend to take away the food back to my place in Smithtown where I have to reheat it, and it isnt any less tasty or a loss of quality. My favorite is the brisket, but if you love BBQ, how could you not love brisket? Oh and they make a pretty heckin good mason jar full of dark and stormy
Absolutely amazing from the food to the atmosphere. Prices are also amazing. The ribs melt off the bone. The sauces are delicious. The corn bread has a glaze of heaven on it and hands down THE BEST greens I have ever tasted in my life! I will recommend this place forever and it was my first time going there. Staff was so friendly as well!! All around 5 stars!
I thought our server was a delight. Very professional and personable. The same goes for the guy where you order your food. The brisket was tender and tasty. Same goes for the pulled pork. Fried chicken was fried well, crispy and crunchy yet the meat was juicy only problem was that it was so salty. I am hoping that was just a mistake where someone forgot they salted it and then forgot again. Peach cobbler was tasty as well but I would cake it peach cake, but no matter it was very good. Good feel to the restaurant, would definitely go again.
The aesthetic here is great, comfortable, with good staff. have been here a few times, but am never wowed by the food. Its not bad at all but not the best Ive eaten. I like the sausages the most here, but have been underwhelmed by the brisket and pulled pork. Both smoked meats need the addition of the offered BBQ sauces, just not to my liking without. I wll definitely eat here again but its not my top choice.
Excellent spot for BBQ and sides, all prepared with care. Wanted to try everything - between me and my friends I sampled the ribs, pulled pork, brisket and sausage. All very good, but the ribs and sausage are standouts. The cornbread is superb - moist, flavorful and just a bit sweet - the best I have ever had. Coleslaw and collard greens are well seasoned. Great casual atmosphere, a good bar, attentive service.
The young girl behind the order counter had quite an unnecessary attitude with all of the members of my party yesterday while trying to place a food order. We were however Thankful for the sous chef who happened to be standing next to her at the time and was actually helpful. For a food business during these times I would expect a friendlier staff.
Been here a few times over with friends and love it! Here are some of my favorites/ recommendations:Brisket: so tender and tasty!Pork sausage: I usually get 2, because they are kinda small, one doesnt cut it for me.Collards Greens: they are great, have a little kick to themCorn bread: I recommend sharing this one, they are the size of a small brickSweet rolls: so good!Mashed Sweet potatoes: topped with toasted pecans- tasty!Creamed Spinach- also good.Drinks:Corpse Reviver 2Speaking in TonguesNew Orleans Sazarac (one of my fave drinks. Strong though!)
Excellent ribs and mashed potatoes. I dont know what they do to the mashed potatoes but theyre great!Texas style ordering (youll have to look that up) they have an excellent blackened mahi fish sandwich. Ive never had it but my friend swears by it.Just very good food reasonable price nice atmosphere I only wish it was closer to Brooklyn where I live
Amazing new spot in Huntington. Great food, great staff and great atmosphere. Me and my boyfriend decided to share a bunch of different things, the corn bread and Mac and cheese are a must! We also really liked the brisket and trying out all the different bbq sauces at the table. Drinks were also very good the electric cool aid was my favorite!! Will definitely be coming back hopefully soon!!!
Never thought I’d rave about kale salad in a BBQ place, but it was awesome- fresh and garnished with a made-from-scratch lemon Caesar dressing. The cornbread had a light honey-glazed crust and a wonderful aroma. And yes the brisket was tender and tasty. The ribs could hold their own anywhere. Nice food, nice people, nice price.
Best southern food ever! Really good place for our first time. And in setauket which is really rare. The service was amazing and the place is really old fashion. It smells amazing like real wood. Really great place. Whom ever is looking for an awesome old fashion southern food this is the place for you!
Greeted when walked in. Fast service. The waitress was fantastic. Calm, cozy, and comfortable place to eat with friends, family, individually. Had the Brisket - for my first time having Brisket i must say that was the best ive ever had. Mac and cheese is delicious and the fried are to die for!! Definitely will recommend to people i know! Will definitely come back!
Incredible. Ive had BBQ in NC and Texas - not as good as this. I had the brisket and sausage and tried most of their sides. Best BBQ brisket Ive ever had. One side per person enough because generous portions and rich. Melon salad and creamed spinach fantastic. Rustic decor, order at counter and seat yourself...it is an intentional LACK of decor and the fastest way to start eating. Makes sense - focus on the food, the sauces, great beer...Old Fields is a winner!
Brisket was outstanding so was the pulled pork I dont have higher praise for the cornbread then it was excellent. The mashed potatoes were also outstanding I dont normally leave High reviews like this. I can be somewhat picky. Is this a fancy sit-down place for barbecue know it is set up for what a barbecue place should before you order your food it Sports you write your table all the barbecue sauces are there none of it is put on your food for you. Whats the visit outstanding
Great happy hour specials, good drinks, and the bartender was a delight. Plenty of seating in the back and good food options make this a really good choice in the area. A little expensive, but gladly worth it for southern-style food that’s not often found done right nearby. Recommended!
I am so excited this place has come to Huntington village. Cute place, excellent service..and the food! Magnificent!I had the chicken and sausage.they were outstanding. The sides and cornbread were cooked and made to perfection. I can tell a lot of thought was put into the menu, and I appreciate that. I have been spreading the word about these food eats! You gotta try this place!
Holy Smokes!!! The food, service and atmosphere was absolutely phenomenal! All the smoked meats and sides were “to die for”! Had the best time, will definately be returning to try even more different things that i missed tonight. The chef was extremely friendly and humble as he took some time to explain some of the items on the menu. What an experience!
Meats are high quality and incredible. Favorites are the ribs and chorizo sausage. The smoker is the real way to cook meats. Side dishes are superb. Excellent collards. Home made sauces are amazing...Sweet and Smokey, and Bourbon are exceptional. Large cornbread can be split by 2 or 3 people. Will try other meats and sides next time...wings, and brisket, with mac & cheese. Prices are not cheap but are fair for the quality and quantity you get. Highly recommended.
Interesting concept. Crowded bar in the front and counter in the rear to place your own order for food. Seat yourself at open tables. Restaurant has a great look . Staff will stop by tables to refill water take orders for beverages and clean away soiled trays. BBQ was very good. Brisket, ribs, chicken and chorizo. Sides were also very good. Kale salad, collard greens, mac and cheese, and the loaf of corn bread which was fantastic. Will definitely return.
I had the blackened Mahi sandwich and the broccoli side. The Mahi tasted amazing and was much better than I expected for barbecued fish. Wasn’t too keen on the lemony broccoli side but can’t complain about value for money in terms of portion. My colleague had the pulled rib and corn bread and was more than satisfied. Will have to come back and try the pulled chicken and peach cobbler at some point.
Very good classic BBQ, yummy sauces. Doesnt follow a particular style of BBQ.Great thick cut brisket, falls apart by itself.Chorizo is great (could be better if seared on a grill)Sides are awesome (slaw and mash my two favs)Drinks are real good and reasonably priced.Staff is really friendly and helpful!10/10 would go again and recommend.
Let me start by saying the staff here is incredible from the front staff to the kitchen staff! Our first time here and we were welcomed by all with open arms. We ordered the ribs, pulled chix, sausage and more to share with sides. Just order in the back and find a seat. My favorites were the ribs and sausage! My husband the brisket! We were given the watermelon salad to try... It was out of this world! All the food was delicious in this very casual, rustic setting! Even had great music playing! Will be back for sure!
We really loved it. Great food drinks and really amazing staff. We went on a very busy sat night and they could not have been more accommodating. Great ribs onion rings potatoes pulled pork was a favorite of the table. A must try if u like bbque and there are not a lot of places to go around this area and this is worth it
I went when they opened over a year ago, food was bland, stomach hurt after and $$$. I went and got take out last week and nothings changed. How people can give this place a high rating are the same people throwing their gloves and facemarks on the ground. Smoking Als is the only place on long island (john browns in queens too) worth eating at for BBQ.
Wow, first time coming here and ate at the bar. Fantastic style and good selection of meats and sides. Good Texas style BBQ and what a location to find it !Edit: I have been coming here consistently for a couple months and it has turned into my FAVORITE restaurant in Huntington. I have lived in this town all my life, and a BBQ spot of this caliber is the diamond among diamonds for food, atmosphere and especially the food.
Me and my friend went . spent 82 dollars . the ribs were dried out with no flavor and chicken dried out no flavor , the brisket ok with a little flavor , is this a smokehouse ? there was no bark at all on the ribs or brisket . the best thing was the 12 dollar cocktail and the port and beans . 82 dollars . as well the atmosphere is nice but the food is terrible . will bring a date there for a drink , never food . if it wasn’t for the sauces we wouldn’t of been able to eat the food . won’t be back .
Went here with my family of 3 and had a big platter of ribs, brisket, sausage, creamed spinach, mac n cheese, and cole slaw. Cook guaranteed his food and he stood by it to check in with us. Food was more than enough for the 3 of us and take home. All the food was very good and would return again to try the foods they ran out of on a Sunday.
We stumbled upon Old Fields while wandering about Huntington Village on the way from Book Revue back to the Paramount. It was a happy accident since we normally would have walked down 110 vs the side street Old Fields is on.The wonderful aroma drew us in and past the front bar area to the back of the restaurant where the very non-vegetarian delights awaited. After a little lack of clarity on whether we had to wait to be seated or find a table, we staked our claim to the tall bar-height table near the food counter and ordered some mouthwatering brisket, smoked wings and a variety of classic bbq sides including baked beans and some tasty collard greens.Everything was delicious (family thought the coleslaw was a little vinegary, but I enjoyed it) and I personally loved the habanero peach bbq sauce. They even served Shiner Bock beer which is a staple in western bbqs. Definitely on the list for a return stop before the next concert we go to at the Paramount.
If youve had moderately good barbecue in the past, youll be disappointed. Their sausage is just a hot dog, their pickles are straight from the jar, and their pulled pork isnt pulled (bonus, its dry too -inedible without their homemade sauce!) Thoroughly disappointed based off the reviews. The only thing saving it from one star is that they gave me more food than charged for. Disappointing overall.
Good food. Setup a little strange as we were unsure at first how to order or get a drink or table but we were guided through the process by the staff just fine and now we know. :) Limited fare of smoked, bbqd meats and some sides but more than adequate choice. Portion sizes were good. Different bbq sauces at the tables. Will go back.
If you are looking for simple food very well done then look no further. The cafeteria style is supported by the other old fields restaurant staff so they have an idea of good service. I’m not going to take off a star but I wish the bar had more of a vodka selection, but hey it’s a bbq joint.
The bbq here is good and expensive and its a nice atmosphere. Its also a bar so the later you go to eat the less food there is and more drinking going on. I find this place is hit or miss.. for the most part you can see the food youre going to eat when you pick what you want. Its great if its a fresh cut out from the oven or its just sad if its the last pickings from the cut.
Very disappointing. I had chicken and ribs, I had 3 sides: mac and cheese, creamed corn and brisket chili. Honestly the meats were cooked perfectly. But lacked flavor. Its almost as if it had no seasoning. The bbq sauces at the table made up for the lack of flavor. On top of that I was served chili with moldy cheese! I asked for a new chili and the same guy who served it first gave me a new one just to discover that they are using moldy cheese here again. Not sure if I will give this place another chance. The best part of my meal was the bbq sauce and the water. Not so happy for spending 45 bucks in blend food
Best barberque I had in a while. Beats other barberque restaurants that I have been in the east coast. The simplicity of the menu makes the choices easier take. Their beef brisket is moist but their ribs are to die for. It literally falls off the bone and their sauces makes the taste more spectacular.Laid back ambiance, nice crowd, great place to have barbercue!
In the year since I first reviewed this place, the brisket has only gotten better, but I’m going to remove a star because the ambience is not quite up to the food. To get 5 stars, a restaurant has to make everybody feel welcome. Diners who do not share the views expressed on the newspaper-based collage near the cash register in Oldfields will feel disinvited. I admit the disses on what will be some people’s favorite president since Lincoln are subtle. But unmistakable. What a distraction from great ‘cue. Now, back to the brisket:“As a Texan, a lifelong Q-fancier and even a former wannabe pitmaster, I know what good brisket should taste like. And Oldfields has it. I will admit that I’m grading on a curve here, it being New York and all, but the brisket I had at Oldfields was excellent, the best I’ve tried in NY (ask for your cut from the fatty end, not the lean end, no matter where you are).Oldfields’ pork ribs are also very good, tho getting these right is not as impressive as getting brisket right. The brisket had a proper spice bark, perhaps a little mild for my taste, but still very distinctive. And the collards were simply fantastic. Someone has done their homework. For sure, we will be coming back. As an added plus, there was a very nice selection of beers. The only thing I missed was regional music on the playlist: some Robert Earl Keen, some Jerry Jeff Walker, some Joe Ely and, of course, Dixie Chicks, would go very well with the food.”
Went last night for dinner. When you enter, head straight to the back counter and order your food. The bar is at the front. You can grab a beer on the way back.Meat is sold by the pound. We had the Brisket, Pulled Pork, Mac & Cheese, Collard Greens, Cold Slaw and Corn Bread. Everything was excellent. The collard greens were a little under cooked but they were still good.Grab a table or a booth. Theres no waitress or hostess service. No fancy decor here. Alot of antiques, an old table and bike, etc.Since the place is new, everything was clean, including the bathrooms.
If I could give 10 stars I would. From the hospitality at the bar to the food behind the counter, everything here is on point. The brisket, Fire! The corned beef, off the charts! The pulled pork, knock your socks off.. don’t even get me started on their sides... I will blow a gasket. If you are looking for the BEST bbq on Long Island look no further!! Much love and pura vida :]
I was driving around the village looking for a place to eat and stopped by old fields LET ME JUST SAY I WAS VERY HAPPY I DID. Not only the food is amazing but the service was great the people is friendly and I felt very welcome Victor made sure we were taking care of while we enjoyed the delicious food. If you want to get yourself a quick fix some bbq ribs with some mash and Mac and cheese please visit this place.
I took my brother-in-law here for his birthday we have been there before for my birthday the drinks are outstanding the beer is great we love the service because you go up pick out your own food decide how much you want no hassles from a waitress and the quality of the food was excellent to one of the best barbecue places Ive been to in New York I am looking forward to going back again and again

2022-04-03Lets start with this. This is an excellent restaurant with quality food, drinks, ambiance and service, however the BBQ meats tasted just average. In all fairness, I cant speak to all the BBQ meat as I only tried the Brisket and Ribs. Both were barely warm and lacked taste. Maybe the other meats (Sausage, Chicken, Pulled Pork) may be much better.Despite that, we will be back. The Fried chicken (Boneless) is some of the best Ive ever tried. Drinks were good and decently priced. The Beet salad was a small portion but filling and only $8. Very delicious even for a non salad lover like me. Chicken sandwich was slightly spicy but good. Corn bread was also some of the best and they serve a huge piece. The sauce selection was good. I would recommend adding a spicy option. For dessert, we got a Peach Cobbler (only dessert item on the menu) to share and it also didnt come out warm. Still very good as my kids devoured it and barely left me any.Its Texas style ordering so be prepared to order at the counter and the food gets brought to the table. Parking lot is right next to the restaurant but still tough to get parking. Highly recommend this place, but dont come just for the BBQ.

2022-05-01Always like to try BBQ places out in NY/LI area because how I miss the south.Brisket was well cooked, Ribs lacked some flavor but the many BBQ sauces helped.Decor was really nice, the staff friendly and welcoming. Corn bread was amazing and the peach cobbler was okay, drinks were fairly priced and sides were good as well. Will come again as it’s a nice place and parking wasn’t easy but you just have to look around because the lot is always packed.

2022-05-30Found this place rather by accident, saw a sign that said BBQ and was in the mood for BBQ. Two entrances, one on the street and one one the side of the outdoor benches. The front entrance is a bar look and feel but the side entrance leads you to the back where you orde and then find a table. Nothing fancy, very rustic, but the atmosphere was comfortable. Ordered the Ribs platter which comes with French fries. When seated, a server will deal with your beverage selection. The food was delicious and the ribs were falling off the bone. Actually enjoyed this place, great music from the bar area (80s), will definitely return again.

2021-09-29Found this place while finishing up a really long walk. Saw the huge sign that said BBQ and felt the gravitational pull. Since that day I have been here numerous times and it is always amazing. Literally every regular item on the menu and all of the specials I’ve tried have been phenomenal. Best BBQ on the Island bar none

2022-06-05Brisket is juicy and tender, burnt ends are saucy and delicious (maybe the best part of the meal), broccoli was grilled to perfection, ribs really tasty but better adding bbq sauce. Onion rings crispy on the outside and juicy inside. Wife liked the watermelon arugula salad. Fries are more like potato wedges but well seasoned and good complement to bbq. Decent quantity of sauce selection but by far my top choice was the spicy sticky sauce. Texas-style, I think, but I liked it better than what I had in TX. Wife n son were also pleased. Like the arrangement to meat n sides at counter and then drinks at the table with payment after the meal. Service not particularly personal but very prompt esp. on a Fri night.

2022-05-28Old Fields in Huntington is in my opinion the best barbecue you can find on Long Island. End your search now, I’ve gone through them all. It reflects a taste that can only be found out of state. Quick, consistent and have never been disappointed!

2022-02-01The food is absolutely delicious.. and the environment is really chill. You can sit at a table or a booth, or at the bar... And the staff is very friendly and helpful. My only complaint would be that I feel like the serving sizes for sides could be a little bit bigger, but other than that I love the food! I especially like the fact that they give you the option of about five different barbecue flavors that are at each table.. so its easy to experiment with what you like sauce wise. Located right in Huntington village.

2022-07-01I come here every time I visit my parents basically and everyone always loves it. I think I’ve had every side at this point and they’re all great. The smoked chicken is phenomenal as is the pulled pork. Great sauce options and the drinks are strong at the bar. Far better than a lot of overhyped places in the city.

2021-08-25I come here very often and would give it 5 stars, but my one BIG complaint is that the food is served cold, and is made worse with cold metal trays at the tables. Maybe other customers like luke-warm brisket and cream spinach, but how the owner hasnt figured out that many customers want hot food is beyond me. Otherwise, the food here is delicious.
