Had the Chicken Souvlaki dinner. The chicken was super tender, crispy fries, nice greek salad, yummy tsiziki sauce!
We came here for Father’s Day breakfast. The service was ok but the food wasn’t very good. I had the blandest pancakes I have ever eaten out and they were on the dry side. They were also yellow, which if I’ve had yellow pancakes in the past, it meant there was butter, but there was no butter. The bacon wasn’t very good either and the sausage too. The eggs were a little runny for scrambled. Probably won’t be back.
A beautiful Long Island diner that seemingly spends all its money on the decor and not on their kitchen staff.I honestly can say this is the nicest looking diner I probably ever stepped foot in. I came here with my family and we were impressed by how nice it looked. It was a Friday at 5pm, so it was right before any dinner rush.We got 3 burgers and 1 plate of chicken fingers. Every burger ordered was over cooked to well done, when we asked for medium rare, and there didnt seem to be a pinch of seasoning on any of the food either.Sadly we didnt have enough time to send the burgers back to give the kitchen a second chance.We might give the diner a second chance the next time we are going to Westbury Gardens though.
I picked up 2 burgers on 1/31/22, pizza burger and regular cheese burger with mashed potatoes....the brown gravy had an extremely strong odor my husband almost threw up from the smell. The pizza sauce was just about the same. I called the diner back thinking he would tell me to bring the food back or something, his response was Ill look into it and hung up. Im sorry but thats not how you handle business. Doesnt phase me one bit why the parking lot is empty everytime I drive past it.
Couldnt quite get the order right. Waiter was good, paid attention, tried hard, but whoever was in the kitchen kept messing up. Nothing complicated, just breakfast. In no hurry to go back.
$25 for steak and eggs over easy, eggs were over hard and looked like theyve been cooked in dirt, home fries completely raw. I wouldnt even feed this to my dog. First and last time customer!!!!
I live for this place. The Pizza Burger, the spaghetti, and the chocolate chip pancakes are the best meals I have ever had in my long extensive life. Go here. Now.

This diner is OK, but nothing special.I suggest never to buy a gift card from Old Westbury Diner.I received a $100 gift card.The first time I used it I spent about $35.On my second trip when I went to pay I was told by the cashier that there was only about $8 left on the gift card and that I had to pay the rest by other means.I tried to explain their error but I was told by the, not so nice, casher that I must be mistaken because their system can not be wrong; and she just silently looked at me while waiting for me to provide her with cash or a charge card to pay the balance.When she handed me the receipt she pointed to the zero balance on the gift card receipt with a look as to say: See! the system is correct and you are wrong.I will never eat there again.
Front desk gentleman, I believe he is the manager, was very rude and unpleasant. I waited over 20 mins to pick up a burger that was order over an hour before that and when I got it all he said was here!.
Its a dinner that offers the usual menu. I enjoy the brightness, cleanliness and the clientele is not loud. You can enjoy a good cup of coffee and a good conversation with the family or friends and a good meal. If something is not of your liking all you need is mention it they keep the customer happy.They keep it clean, the service is good and they will accommodate your needs.Last time I enjoyed the french toast stuffed with cream cheese and blueberries. I bring with me my own fresh maple syrup, I need to ask next time if they serve it. Will let you know:-)

Great food and service. Carl place dinner had a blocked ramp for a wheelchair. They lost me as a customer. Wife called and all they could say sorry. They need a better job to help the disabled.
Except for the fact that they had gluten free fries (dedicated fryer), and they were decent fries, I have nothing good to write. Burgers were thin and dry, and the buns substandard. Tap water had a weird taste. Service was quick and decent, but tipping was possible only at predetermined tiers.

Not happy with the food, and less happier with the bill. The coffee was terrible. My sons spaghetti was undercooked. The home fries were not that. They were frozen shredded potatoes that were bland. My wifes omlettes with broccoli and cheese has a funky, frozen food taste to it. And to top it all the bill was a whopping $75 for 3 adults and one child meal. We will not be visiting this place again.
Very clean and well decorated inside and out. The food and service was not great. I’m not one to complain but the food was off. Everything we ordered just wasn’t good. Even the French fries. Service is non existent. I wouldn’t come back.

Middle eastern middle aged guy, who should be a greater, barely speaks English and was rude to me. Also I’ve seen how bad he talked to delivery guys who came there to pick up orders. Probably needs to learn proper manners in order to work at restaurant business. Food is just OK but overpriced.You have to pay in a counter for your order after you done. Also they ask you if you want to add tip from your card - I’m a good tipper but I don’t like when someone forces me to tip.

Visited 7/18/21 .This was my first time visiting this diner. This food was just average but the service was horrible. It took 25 minutes to bring my one glass of water. I understand it gets busy sometime but waiting 25 minutes for one glass of water is just ridiculous. I thought the waitress must of forgot or some thing so after 10 minutes I reminded her and she said she will bring the water right away. After 15 minutes has passed i still did not receive my one glass of water so then I just asked a different waiter and he brought me my one glass of water right away.The female waitress we had was Rosa.The waitress Rosa never brought my water or apologized. She seemed very disorganized and provided very poor service. Then suddenly at 3pm when the male manager or owner showed up waitress Rosa transformed and started do her job but the damage was already done.Even with the horrible service we tipped the watiress Rosa well but we will never return and make sure everyone that follows us do the same. My advice to management please watch your employees very closely especially waitress Rosa that they are doing their job properly if you want to stay in business.

Very nice diner to go to, they have great food and their serving are generous. They also have two very spacious dining areas that are kept very clean. Everyone is extremely friendly as well and Im happy to see them opened again. Enjoy

First time here. My son and I ordered takeout and the food was good. It held up well from here to Hempstead. My son ordered a cheeseburger with fries. He liked the hamburger, they forgot the cheese. Only reason for 4 stars instead of 5. We ordered chicken strips and fries for his mom and she really liked it. I got potato skins and I liked them. We also got a brownie for me and his mom and he got a blueberry muffin. We liked those as well. Everything was great portion sizes too. When Im ready to dine in again this will definitely be one of the first places we come to.

Always a great Diner, there salads are great burgers are cooked well and the people are always friendly and i love there coffee its actually very strong which is a plus for me. Ill go here when i have no idea what i want for dinner because i cant get a great mix of items. Like the other night i got a chicken noodle soup and a grilled cheese with a side salad and it was perfect! Get this, bonus surprise i got coleslaw and pickle with out even knowing and it was very good! Highly recommend this dinner. FYI they have outdoor searing if you want and they renovated the dinner so all the booths are extra high and it feels very private, it was really nice!
If I could give this establishment no stars it would be more accurate. Just literally left after waiting for 40 minutes for eggs Florentine, a farmers omelet, and childrens chicken fingers, the English muffin was burnt black. My 4-year-old childs chicken fingers were raw on the inside.
Five stars go to the Westbury Diner! From the minute you walk in, the manager greets you like an old friend offering you a choice dining table. The service is excellent, as is the food. The little touches like pickle bowl and coleslaw are tasty and fresh. The cheeseburgers are juicy and flavorful. The French fries are crisp and soft on the inside. The staff is attentive and welcoming. Well worth repeat visits!
I actually liked this diner. I was a little surprised at the timing it took for us to be seated on a Sunday morning (around 10 mns or less!) We enjoyed the service and the food. Very quick and delicious. Will be coming back with the family again.
Placed an order with Old Westbury Diner for a turkey, bacon, and lettuce sandwich on gluten free bread. I clearly put in the comments section Gluten Free, Gluten Allergy, no tomato, no mayo ( to avoid cross contamination). When my order arrived I noticed that the sandwich bread looked different as I have ordered from here plenty of times. In addition they put tomato’s (another indicator that the person who made the order didn’t read the ticket). I called Old Westbury Diner and asked for a manager, he kept arguing with me that the sandwich was gluten free an that the bread was “whole wheat gluten free with grains”, I explained that I have never had this bread at the diner and it was always white in color. Instead of arguing with him I asked if he could bring me another sandwich with the white gluten free bread and take this sandwich back. He was very nasty and said no eat the sandwich it’s gluten free, I asked him “so your willing to loose a long time customer because you refuse to admit you sent me the wrong food?” He laughed and said “Yea bye ... click”. I would be very cautious to all those going to this diner to eat, the manager doesn’t care if you are given the wrong food and become very sick.
Food was absolutely horrible. The Reuben was soggy and the beef was cut too thick to even be on a sandwich. Then it’s thrown on the plate. My girlfriend’s burger was a greasy mess. And both our fries were ice cold. It was almost like the waiter knew the food looked horrible. He was really nice and the only good thing about this place. When I went to pay they did not care at all after saying I won’t be coming back and that the food was terrible. Absolute waste of money. $14 for a sandwich? Just because you renovated doesn’t mean your customers need to pay for it. My girlfriend and I have been going there since we started dating 5 years ago. Since the renovation we have been back two times. The last time was so so. This time was the last time we will be there. So the place looks nicer but the food is terrible. Do not eat here, save your money and go somewhere else. Management clearly doesn’t care. I’m hoping they will see this, however, I doubt it and they probably still won’t care. How there is good reviews about this place is beyond me. Did these people stop in, look around and not eat the food? This place does not deserve any of the 5 star reviews (which are more than likely fake).

I was very disappointed by what I was served today in the form of a turkey burger. Usually I give this place good reviews, and I wish I took a photo of the serving as you might even laugh. I was so taken aback that I didnt think of doing that and I didnt complain to the waitress. The staff is always nice. Im sure she would have taken it back. The burger was served open face on a role. No lettuce. Nothing added to give flavor. No taste and dry as a bone. Flat as a pancake. I have never had a turkey burger that bad and with such awful presentation. The person I was with had a nice salad, so I used some of that to make the burger somewhat palatable, along with ketchup. I wonder if the owner would eat something like that.
I have been to many and found that each Long Island diner is remarkably similar as all the others. This one is just as good as any other, but not really any better. No diner is great. The desserts looked phenomenal, but I didnt indulge. Good experience. Wait staff was excellent. Overall a good meal and experience, but not exceptional.

As far as diners go this one is great to go to, as soon as you walk in the manager is very friendly, youre at a booth or table asap. Its all smiles and the waiters/waitresses are friendly as well. Theres no rush here and the dishes Ive had have all been delicious. The diner is very clean and bright as well...Great place!!
Food has been better, not seasoned well. Also noticed prices went up since they renovated. Ok to stop by if your starving or you can keep going south on Glen Cove road to Carle Place dinner.
In town for husbands high school reunion and stopped here after six hours on the road, before checking into our hotel. Clean, large dining room. Decorated for Halloween.Typical overly large diner menu, I get a bit overwhelmed with so many choices. Everything looked great. Decided to keep it simple and just get a cheeseburger and fries. It was really delicious, beefy tasting and juicy. I liked that it had cheese on top AND on the bottom. Service was attentive and quick.If we lived nearby Im sure Id be a regular. Hoping I get chance to return and try them for breakfast before the weekend is out.
Open question:Are diners overpriced?The food was fine, pretty standard for a diner.I went with friends and had a good time, though - and thats maybe where diners shine! Its a fairly casual atmosphere.Would I go here again? Not of my own volition.Would I go if a bunch of my friends were going and invited me to catch up?Yes, I havent seen them for 3 years and this place is as fine as any. It wont break your bank, you wont be hungry after, the and banter is top notch with friends like these.
Like most restaurants these days they are trying to survive. This place used to be really good but now they are clearly trying to make things stretch and the quality of what is served has declined. Its edible but not worth what they charge. I dont mind paying for good food...this wasnt it.
I have been going here for over 25 years, its changed names over the years but two things remain constant. Great food and extremely friendly service. The hostess is always sweet, friendly and attentive, the waitstaff very accommodating and food is well proportioned, on the larger size. I would recommend it to anyone on the area.
Great local diner with consistent good food and service. As with all diners the variety is welcome when you arent really sure what to order. Breakfast all day and my favorite is the grilled chicken Greek salad. Definitely ask for a pickle and some fresh Cole slaw to compliment your meal!

In my opinion, this has been one of the worst places I’ve dined, mainly bc of the staff. The so called owner and manager are extremely rude and unappreciative of their customers business. As I was paying, there was 0 acknowledgement, no hello, no how was tour meal, and no thank you! Furthermore, I feel their food is below average. There are so many other places to not only get better food, but to have your business appreciated.

Well-decorated and clean. Good service. Main reason for two stars is that the food was small servings of mediocre deli fare at an unjust price. I ordered a hungry man egg wrap yet the wrap had more peppers than sausage and the plate had more mushy hash browns than it did actual wrap. Diners are generally known for large servings so this was a rather underwhelming experience, though they do deserve a second shot in the future.
We used to live in New York and while visiting we had to get a diner deluxe cheeseburger. The Old Westbury Diner served us delicious burgers that really hit the spot.
Delicious Cobb Salad, and I like the cleanliness and ambiance of the place. Classy for a diner. The staff was nice too. I would definitely come back and probably order pancakes next time.
They get 4 stars for having gluten-free options. It makes getting a diner meal so much easier for us! The food is diner food. Nothing exceptional and nothing horrible. Good omelette, good burgers, good sandwiches. Waitstaff are always friendly and nice. Wish they had more salad options.
A great place to dine with your family. came in for the second time in a week and the experience was great. The portions were huge. The food was perfectly cooked. The serving team worked in perfect unison. I have no doubts recommending this place to everyone!

Standard american diner. I understand its hard waitressing for a living as ive done it myself- but the service was not good. we were a party of 8 and she would ask if we needed anything and one person would answer and she would run away. She didnt come back. The flavors were average and the portions were very big.
Nice staff, clean as one would expect, food was fine - had a turkey panini - came out with french fries which were just warm enough not to complain but were clearly sitting for a few minutes before being served, and the bacon was pretty rare so good if you like it that way - I dont.Not packed when we arrived but a very steady stream of people coming and going
Have had salads, burgers, steak sandwiches here and consistently delicious. Had California plate and came with tons of fresh fruit- nothing canned here! Service is excellent. Conscientious staff always makes us feel welcome.

Been going here for 30 years. Great food nice staff. Renovations make the place bigger and better. Easy to see right off of Glen Cove Road. Close to the Northern State Parkway and Old Country Road in Westbury. Clean facilities with a wheelchair accessible entrance. Plenty of parking. Reasonably priced. We will definitely be going back.
Not real great for breakfast, home fries seem to be from a frozen bag. Ate because my sugar was low and I took the first open place I found. The staff is very nice.
We were rushed out of there before closing time and the manager hovered over us at our table waiting for me to give him the money so he could close out the cash register. It was pathetic.

Ate there for dinner last night. Had chocolate chip pancakes and while I was eating them, I thought they tasted “different.” It’s currently 2:44am and I’ve been stuck in the bathroom since. I have been nauseous until I couldn’t be any longer. Did not eat anything besides that meal since the afternoon, so it had to be the pancakes. Just giving everyone a heads up, if I got sick off pancakes, imagine the rest of the food.
Sorry, I and my family were not impressed with this diner. The dining room was very neat and clean in addition to being modern and visually appealing. I and my family were just not impressed with the food. It wasnt bad; instead, just not a standout compared to some other diners.

Food wasnt bad..but I have had better diner food in other places. We are a family of 4 and ordered a combo platter as an appetizer. It was mozzarella sticks..chicken fingers and wings..the wings were basically fried chicken in a buffalo batter. There were only 3 wings while 4 of everything else. The mozzarella sticks were the best part of this dish. My daughters ordered a grilled cheese sandwich and a cheese burger..I had a California burger with avocado. The dish came with 3 onion rings ..they were cold..the fried were a little soggy. Both my burger and my daughters were ordered as medium rare..both came over cooked. My wife had a vegi burger. She had no major complaints but at the same time was not the best she ever had. For dessert the kids had a jumbo chocolate chip cookie and a jumbo linzer cookie.. my wife and I split a baklava. The baklava was very cold inside. I know it is in a fridge but it also seemed very dry as well..like I said..not bad food..just better in other diners!!

Love this place. This has been our go to place for years. I bring my 81 year old dad from upstate NY to see his 86 year old sister (who lives down the road from the diner). Our entire family gathers there for hours to have lunch or dinner enjoying a variety of food prepared and served by true professionals. No matter what the size of our group and no matter what we order or special requirements we have, the old Westbury diner meets our needs 100% every time. I plan to be back there....we the whole gang at the end of March. See you then.
The food from this place gave me intense food poisoning. I had a farmers omelette...simple! How can you serve customers rotten food like this and put them at risk? 24 hours of hardcore intense pain that has yet to subside! Should have known something was up when we walked in and it smelled musty. I do not understand the good reviews! Makes zero sense to me. It smelled....booths torn and food poisened me. I will never ever return and will spread the word intensely about this disgusting place.

The food and service are consistently very good here. I eat here at least once a week and have tried many items on the menu. I have yet to be disappointed by anything that I have tried. They also have a good selection of gluten free food available. I suggest giving them a try.
We ordered eggs florentine and the quality was terrible. The eggs were undercooked, the hollandaise sauce was gross, the spinach was mostly uncooked and the english muffin was untoasted. The home fries were raw inside. When we called to get it fixed they didnt really offer many helpful solutions.

Good diner. Easier to travel to it coming from the North so you dont have to make a left across traffic since its a busy intersection. Parking is available in the back.Service sets this apart from some other diners in the area. Food is on the same level for the diner classic meals.

OLD Westbury Diner is absolutely one of the most beautiful comfortable eating places anywhere.The matzoh ball soup thats right matzoh ball soup is the best anywhere on the planet! I happen to like their burger which is fantastic, they have an airy dining room and a professional waiting staff.Order home fries with everything also the best,Highly recommend

Id say that this is one of the cleaner and nicer dinners in the area. on weekends, its packed. The service is excellent. Theres room for improvement in the food, hence taking off 1 star....Still, its better than in most other diners.

Ate here last night. Very expensive for a diner and the food was terrible. I was starving but only ate a few bites and went home hungry. My girlfriends sandwich wasnt much better. $40 for two lousy sandwiches. I wouldnt go back if the food was free.

Typical Long Island diner with a bazillion items on the menu. Sometimes you wonder. Stopped in after a show for coffee and desert. When am I going to learn not to order desert in a diner. Lots of sweetness and dried out from sitting in those cases for how long? If youre hungry go, you will be fed.
Service is good. Ambiance is good. Ample parking. I would say the food was average. Burgers, omelets, BLT werent bad but nothing special to write about.
I have never had a bed experience at this diner. Food always comes out correct and cooked the way I want it. Ask for Parker as your server. She is outstanding!
This is one of the very few diners that I will go to in the area. They are owned by the Williston townhouse Diner which is another Diner that makes excellent food. If youre going for breakfast I recommend the corned beef hash. Its good at both location.
Terrible! Terrible service overall! Unbelievable! I’ve eaten better in jail! And have been serviced better in jail! There isn’t enough words in the English language do describe my disappointment!
Drove here from Queens, we wanted to dine in instead of takeout. We craved for cheese burgers & fries and it tasted the way I imagined it!! I was very happy!! 😁
Good for breakfast, menu quite full, dont carry real maple syrup and I was rather disappointed with the burger which I was bummed about. It was a table of 8, four of us got burgers ....ehhh, would go back for bfast but definitely not that moist juicy smokey firegrilled sloppy burger. It was ehh, we all agreed

Most diners on Long Island are pretty good, however this one is great. Plenty of parking and a warm, welcoming atmosphere. The service is very friendly and keeos the locals coming back.

The French onion soup was not very good, good service and the food came out pretty fast. The server could have told us there were no free refills on the ice tea too...
I only go here on Sundays about once a month. The food is always good and the portions are always large. This is a typical Greek diner where the menu is extensive. I recommend this restaurant for breakfast.

Had breakfast and was dissatisfied. The eggs were not good and service poor. Servers decided to have their breakfast while we were still eating. I never had that experience in any restaurant. I had to contact the manager to get the check.

This place is very good they make good breakfast lunch and dinner. This is a fairly new place but its owned by the same people on the Williston Townhouse Diner in Williston Park. They make great food never had a problem.

WE WERE READY TO ORDER WHEN THE MANAGER CAME TO THE TABLE AND HE SAID OH WHY ARE YOU SITTING HERE THIS TABLE IS FOR FOUR PEOPLE.. I DONT KNOW WHAT TABLE IS FOR 2 or 4.. HE ASK AS TOMOVE TO DIFFERENT TABLE LIKE WE WERE EATING FOR FREE VERY EMBARRASSING BECAUSE HIS BOSS WAS GOING TO GET MAD BECAUSE TWO PEOPLE WERE USING THE TABLE THAT WAS FOR FOUR.. I always recommend people to this diner I work close by and I always order food from there but never again..PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE..THE WORST
Three stars because food is usually hit or miss. More misses than hits lately.Edit: this week was a hit! I went for breakfast so maybe the morning crew does a better job than evening crew.

2022-04-16In celebration of the end of Passion Week, our church members gathered here for breakfast fellowship. They prepared a table of 21 and was able to seat us right away. Despite the table being ginormous, the staff were incredibly nice and had so much energy, they were very attentive and our glasses were always full! I was fortunate enough to order their waffles (Waffle Deluxe) which I loved and loved! We waited about good 20-25 minutes, but the kitchen was amazing, we all enjoyed hot dishes of breakfast at the same time (which is very hard to do for some restaurants) and we very much appreciate the fact that they went the extra mile to make this happen. The staff are so amazing and I believe Google and Yelp is quite underrated. Well definitely be back!

2022-02-11Unbelievable how you see the place crowded but the food is not good at all. Please do not get the Calamari, I beg of you. I bought this to go, and they breaded way to much, it tasted mushy not slightly crispy how it suppose to be... Buffalo wings was just regular fried wings, no sauce. The eggs benedict was not good at all... sad! Wrote thus review on the spot before I got up from the table... 1 star was for the decor of the place! Looks nice inside.
