I received a text from a friend in October 2018 about Olean Coral Reef trashing me on their page, so I go there and see the nasty post that they put up about my store and along with those lies, in the comments there are more lies, someone asks cj if he was the owner of Olean coral reef and he replied, no, and he also says that he is in no way affiliated with it and after a few exchanges between us, he either removed the post or hid it and that was that. Then a couple of weeks ago, I get a notice from google that Skyler Martins left a one star review along with some nasty comments in one of the reviews for both of my stores Wellsville and Olean, so in return Less gave them a one star for posting trash about us, Skyler then removes both of his reviews and they put up a post on their page crying about how they would never leave a bad review on another store and how much it bothered him that we gave them a one star. I in turn commented and put up the reviews and trash that they put up on us way earlier, then as expected, they removed my comments and blocked me. It was important to me that people knew the truth. In my comment I told him that he should mind his own business and I would mind mine, this clearly didnt happen and all of his friends and unsuspecting customers started in trying to defend them by saying hateful things about us also. Now, I get that they dont want any competition, but starting a smear campaign is wrong, hate and lies are wrong! A little competition never hurt anyone. I have had my store open for 21 years and I love my stores and our customers and I certainly would not have been able to stay in business this long if I was as mean and as awful of a person and kept such a nasty store as you guys claim. I am not claiming to be perfect and that I run a perfect store, but I damn well try! I work daily to improve my stores, it is proving to be a challenge, especially with getting several orders of inventory in weekly. I have several rules that I have clearly posted and these rules are for our pets safety as well as peoples safety and yes I ask people not to bring drinks in the store, not to put fingers in the tanks or cages, not to tap on tanks, cages, not to park in our parking lot unless you are shopping here, not to bring strollers into the back of the store etc.... I know that this offends some people but all of my rules are clearly posted at the front entrance and at several other parts of the stores. I do have a sign up asking people not to ask to hold a pet unless they are seriously considering getting one and this is because the pets get tired of being mauled all day, people have dropped pets on the floor, stolen pets and inventory and pets can get illness from people and there is a lot of work to do an a daily basis and if we are spending time with people that have no intention of getting one, just wanting to hold a pet because they want to, then that cuts time out of our time caring for our pets. I just wonder why someone would break the rules that a business has and then be offended because you get called out on it. If I didnt like a store and/or its policys then why post lies and hatred? Just dont go in there and post good things about the store that you do like, behind every small business there are homes and families that count on that business to survive. I am posting these copies of their post in hopes that the truth matters to some of you.

Olean coral reef is the best pet store in Olean . He knows is animals and cares about them. He can tell you there personality there care. Hes honest and trustworthy. He just helped us set up our first salt water tank and took extra time to walk us step by step through it. Cj works with all his customers to make sure they have a full understanding of what they are buying and have all the supplies they need for the best animal and fish life after the pet store. Love Olean coral reef!!!

Olean Coral Reef has a great variety of fish, corals, reptiles, and supplies. If they dont have what youre looking for, they can order pretty much anything which is pretty convenient. Weve recently decided to start the salt water hobby and CJ has been an incredible help with the process. Hes very knowledgeable and helpful. Were always looking forward to our next visit!

Love Olean Coral Reef! We have done a lot of business here since our first visit in August. CJ is a great guy, is very knowledgeable, very helpful, and has always given our family great customer service. We have purchased a lot of different things from here from hermit crabs, supplies for them, guinea pig food they always make sure they get in for us, fresh water fish, and our very favorite our saltwater tank! CJ has went above and beyond with helping us cross over to the saltwater world! From our actual tank, to supplies, to maintenance, to knowledge, to fish, and the list goes on and on! Now we are going to start the adventure of adding corals! We love having this store in Olean and are thankful to have someone like CJ running it. Highly recommended stopping in and checking the store out. It’s a lot more than an average pet store. If your looking for something specific just ask! CJ will definitely try to get it for you if he doesn’t have it. This is the only pet store in town we shop at.Thank you for everything ;) The Havers Family

I love this store always willing to help and just talk about anything and any questions we have about our animals ! I have also purchased 2 pets from here and possibly in the near future another one ! Its walking distance and the guy is always willing to help with anything we need ! Thank u and we will be in tomorrow for more crickets :)

Best fish and reptile store in olean. They have the best customer service ive seen in a pet store. Very knowledgeable in all areas of the hobby. If your looking for a fish or reptile store this is def the place to go

Have purchased several freshwater fish and enjoy the quality and clean environment the animals are kept in. CJ is very knowledgeable and friendly, its fun to go into a pet store thats kept in excellent condition and order and where the animals welfare is paramount!
