Eric Middleton was a great help. Hes an amazing employee located out of the Bronx office. It was my first te and he was patient with me and helped me step by step all the way. I definitely recommend this place. GO SEE ERIC AND TELL HIM I SEMT YOU! Vote Eric Middleton for employee of the month!
Donating plasma is an experience of a lifetime. I encourage anyone who wants to pay forward the blessing of their good health anonymously, to make your way down to Olgam Life Plasma on Fulton Street in Brooklyn. Brian will be happy to treat you professionally and with a personable attitude. Even on those busy days when all of the great staff is under pressure to get you in and out safely. He is a true leader. Congratulations to Chase on the promotion. I appreciate all you guys and gals. Great team from the front of the house to the back. Thank you for making it easy to give.
This is my third time here, and it will also be my last. There is a lack of communication between the receptionist in the front, and the technicians in the back. Misinformation and a bad attitude = long waits and a bruised arm. Avoid this place, unless you are absolutely desperate. PS - Incredibly long wait for returning donors.
Olgam is the place to be when you want to help people and get paid to do so, I feel like a doctor. Never have I had staff at an establishment be so attentive and concerned about my health!Especially Ciara. Ive been going for a year and got friendly with some of the staff, and shes been amongst the friendliest and the most professional. More so, while most people left, she stayed working her butt off during a worker shortage, thats so much stress on one person Also, she listens to people. If I worked there and was listening to my weird self, I would have quit a while ago.And yes, some people might say it takes a while to complete the whole process (waiting in the lobby and back, then donating), but that comes with any business that suddenly (and constantly) gets an influx of new people. So I aint complaining, thats like going knowingly into rush hour and saying why isnt traffic moving, bc its rush hour, and you know that! You knew that going into everything.Even though im someone who isnt afraid of some needles, this place is the best when it comes to comforting people through an easy process of getting stabbed for cash! Its a nice way to make money and save lives.Edit: you should give Ciara a raise since youre beaming with pride
This is literally the worst plasma donation place in the history of plasma donation centers. They pray on the misfortune of the people who use there services. Treating them like there donations don’t matter and like the donators time is not precious. I have been here many times and other plasma sites as well and in all my experiences this is the worst place to go. The manager is horrible the staff is slow and rude which seems to be the theme of this place. I have been here as long as 4 hours waiting to give a donation that only takes 30 mins in a donation room full off beds and they claim the wait is because of ratios that have to be kept (6 donators to one staff member) and donation times varying from person to person but this is not the issue. The donation floor is the slowest part because the staff don’t move fast enough, they stop and talk to each other make jokes and play when they should be moving as efficiently as possible to get the job done. Not only is this a low income community it’s next to a shelter so they know exactly what they’re doing when they treat you like trash. For all that you go through and the time you will spend there you might as well just get a job there because you will spend half you day just trying to give a donation for $60 at best and most places give you $80 or $100 the first donation. Not to mention I have been left with bruises where they put the needle in, I have seen people literally dripping blood down there leaves and staff has done nothing. I have seen people be taken away by paramedics after being pulled off the donation floor for medical reasons and while they where awaiting medical services again the staff did nothing but move them to a different bed and not check on the person. This place should really be closed for terrible practices and if it was in a nicer area they would not treat the people who literally keep them in business like they mean nothing. DO NOT GO TO THIS DONATION CENTER. The front desk staff is rude all but one in fact and the donation staff is slow and don’t care about the time of the people coming to donate. Min wait time is 3 hours so be prepared if you don’t take my warning.
From top to bottom very professional, was kinda expecting some type of unprofessionalism but honestly theyre very hospitable, the ladies up front call you by name once they recognize you have been a repeat donor, very clean & for that area of Brooklyn that says a lot, the doctors are nice as well & I never felt as if I had to worry about anything & Im the type to get very nervous about needles so with that said I wouldnt trust anyone else with my donation, give them all their flowers please 👏🏿🌺🌹
I have donated several times and I must say my experience and my treatment from Olgam staff was absolutely superior, the entire staff team treats you with the utmost dignity and respect, they make you feel so welcomed from the reception staff Ms RAYVIN and her colleagues to the medical Professionals who start your plasma extraction and I must say they are very trained and skilled in what they do, DANNY is my preferred choice because not only does he exhibit a high level of professionalism and knowledge in what he does, but he inserted the needle in the exact same spot he did it the last time and leaves barely any noticeable mark on my arm. I am really pleased with the service and treatment I received from Danny. I recommend DANNY he is definitely the one you want if youdon’t want to have any noticeable marks. The service was excellent from the beginning to theend as well as the entire Olgam team was great I give Olgam a thumbs up!!!NEW ENTRY:I recently discovered upon my last visit that Danny is no longer working at that site however there was another gentleman worker which I have very high regards for his professionalism and his masterful Plasma extraction skills/technique, and this gentleman was the one who originally attended to me the very first time I arrived at the Plasma center as I was very pleased with his level of professionalism as well as his skills in inserting the needle connection along with his genuine concern he displays toward you as his patient; I would like to introduce the world to one the the best Olgam plasma center staff members to whom I highly recommend as your request, I his top of the line Olgam staff member name is SAM. Tell Sam that Jamiylah referred you to him because she is very pleased with the level of care Sam exudes toward you as his patient. ASK FOR SAM IF YOU WANT PLEASANT EXPERIENCE!!!
FRONT DESK STAFF ARE GREAT. THOSE WHO DRAW BLOOD EVEN GREATER. THE DOCTOR OR EMT ON DUTY IS PREJUDICE! AND THE HEAD ADMINISTRATOR. BOTH CAUCASIAN AND ONE FEMALE INTERVIEWER. THEY MADE A NOTE ABOUT ME BEING ON AN ASTHMA PUMP?! A MEDICATION THAT ISNT ON THEIR MEDICATION LIST! I WAS TOLD I COULDNT DONATE. BUT ITS OKAY FOR ADDICTS AND ALCOHOLICS TO DONATE PLASMA! WHEN CERTAIN STAFF FOUND OUT HOW I WAS TREATED, THEY WERE SURPRISED AND A LITTLE ANGRY. THE EMT TOLD ME THAT MY VENTOLIN SHOULDNT BE USED EVERYDAY. I TOLD THEM I DONT USE IT EVERYDAY. BUT I CARRY IT WITH ME. THE EMT (MALE) DIDNT SEEM TO BE WELL LIKED COMING FROM OTHER OBSERVERS! NOT COOL AT ALL!!!
I was there today. They measured my blood pressure as 79/41. Which is unbelievable. They asked me to wait inside for 15 minutes. I thought they asked me to just not go home. That was my fault. I went outside to get a cup of coffee and chocolate. When I went back they said that they have a policy, do not leave the office. In that case I couldn’t donate today bc of the policy. I was saying okay, but they just need to fix their blood pressure machine. I didn’t say anything bad. They were telling me that for 15 minutes I could take amphetamine. Then the “medical assistant” and receptionist left me alone.I didn’t understand what’s going on. Then their Supervisor, or who is she there, came. She asked me what I wanted. I was telling her about the broken machine. I asked her if she has a medical degree and what symptoms would be for a person who would have this blood pressure 79/41. She doesn’t know. With 79/41 I would call to 9-1-1. I asked her if they had a mechanical blood pressure monitor. Instead of answering my question, she said to me, “Good-bye”. What’s the customer service skills she has?! “0” for problem solving and empathy. She didn’t ask me how I was feeling and maybe I need first aid. And this is the center where all employees have at at least Associate medical degree! In May, the same person came to me when I was already prepared to donate. She said that something was wrong with my weight. Like I lost my weight in 4 pounds in a week. Of course, I was telling her. That’s because in April I was wearing a jacket and winter snickers and I was in hoodies that day.Guys, I’ve never used any kinds of drugs. I don’t like the smell of wheat. Sometimes I see people under the influence of drugs there. And you close your eyes and still take them for donations. I was donating plasma not because of money. I’m just working remotely. I just wanted to make in my life something different.I’m a Quality Assurance Coordinator in Customer Service field. Instead of saying “good bye” to people, please, fix the machine; check them daily because you have so many people coming; have mechanical monitor just in case; keep in mind if someone has blood pressure less than 100/55 than this person couldn’t do anything that day.I went to the CityMD right after. Telling them this story. They were surprised about that Supervisor with medical degree. They measured my blood pressure. I had 117/79.I hope my post will help that lady to improve her customer service and medical skills. I can say that Sarah is the only person who’s very professional and customer service skilled. She is like sunshine there. Thank you, Sarah, it was nice to meet you! Good luck Olgam Life Plazma Donate office!
My experience was very pleasant. As soon as you walk in the staff greets you with a smile. When your donating there the staff is there for any questions. I highly recommended this facility. Ive had the pleasure to have Ciara and Delana help me with my donation. They always keep me calm when Im nervous. Thank you.
Even if you make an appointment, if you’re a first time donor expect this to take at least 3.5 hours minimum. I had an appointment for 1:30 pm, got here at 1 pm. Told them at 2 pm that I needed to leave by 3:30. They were like it’s not going to happen so I said I’m sad, but I guess I’m going to leave, then they changed their tune and said they would bump me up in line. So I was like great! Waited around. 3:30 came and I still didn’t get to donate. I will say some of the staff was friendly but a lot of the other staff was not. They told me to come back before noon to guarantee I would be seen promptly. A staff member told me they would give me some money for still coming and me not being able to be seen. They then refused. Overall just not a great experience.
Olgam life iß great the environment is clean. The staff is very friendly and professional. Marco and Chase are great. They have an unique technique for calming your nerves because believe me. I was definitely nervous my first time. They are great at what they do. The male staff that sits at the front of the office is very professional also. He gets the job done fast and efficiently. Sorry I dont know his name but these three staff keeps me coming back. I hope you have a great experience as well its all worth it.
Olgam is great for the community. Helping people put some money in their pockets while helping others in need at the same time. I love their staff & girls at reception, Shaloma, Chase, Alexis, & Danilo are amazing at what they do. Very comforting, professional, & great personalities. I’d hire them all myself. Other staff can use some more guidance like Accel (a little rough at times) but other than that, amazing.
Currently donating at olgam life and Ive noticed that only one staff member since Ive been donating at the Fulton street branch his names Danny Diaz.He seems to be the only one to notice that the needle should not be exposed.I have been all over the united states and have donated every where that Ive been and no other state does what the staff at Fulton Rd seem not to do its unsanitary to leave the needle exposed . This is a sirious issue and Danny Diaz should be recognized for for using his expertise and common sense. Please train the remaining of your staff to cover the needle please.
Super nice staff. Very welcoming and courteous. My three stars is due to the fact that this location is placed in a poor area, so it is a bit exploitative. You only get $60 the first time, then it goes up to $75, and eventually back down to $60. These plasma donations centers get about $500 from hospitals for our blood donations. They can most definitely afford to pay people more than the amount offered. Its sad as well, many people in the center are trying to make ends meet.
Ive donated in various states Ive lived in and was looking for a place to donate when I moved back to NYC, but unfortunately there were none. From time to time I would do a search, but the closest I could find was in New Jersey. Driving home late one night a light caught my eye and I noticed it was for a sign. It was the Olgam sign. I came in the next day and have been quite pleased. The facility is clean, the staff is friendly and the facility is well run. I look forward to coming regularly.
Be cautious of this commercial donation site. As a new patient, I agreed to wait for 2 hours to donate plasma & when it was my turn to donate, i was told my “veins are not adequate for draw”. There was no secondary action such as squeezing a ball or even drinking water and waiting longer. I asked for a secondary opinion and was denied that because per a rude receptionist “the person who did it, is the best for the job”.. So no one else can feel for a vein?.. Yeah, ok.Although I agree that this step is an important step for drawing blood, it would make a whole lot more sense if this was done prior to my 2 hour wait. The staff was also not very apologetic to this matter either. I will not be returning.
This is the best plasma center Ive ever been to!! Everyone at the center is so kind and welcoming, I felt extremely comfortable while I was there and I felt like part of the family. An amazing establishment to have in Clinton Hill. The staff educate you on every step and really know what they are doing.
The staff here is the absolute best! Its such a positive environment at this donor center! Shout out to Marco, Sierrah, Chase, Lauren, Ilana, Safia, Cierra, and Jean. Im unable to continue donating here, but its been a pleasure working with this wonderful crew. Highly recommended!
If I could give them negative 5 stars I would. THIS PLACE INSTITUTES POLICIES AND PRACTICES THAT IMPLICITLY DISCRIMINATE AGAINST THE POOR!!! Allow me to explain. I traveled to their GRAND OPENING in Brooklyn, NY in the hopes of donating plasma so that I would have $60.00 for pharmacy essentials. I presented my STATE ISSUED, UP TO DATE identification. They told me that because my STATE ISSUED, GOVERNMENT identification has a SUITE that their search revealed to be a POST OFFICE that it was INADMISSIBLE! So THAT MEANS ANYONE THAT’S HOMELESS CAN’T DONATE PLASMA. Then I provided mail that was sent to my ACTUAL ADDRESS AT THE YMCA. THEY SAID THAT TOO IS INADMISSIBLE. As such, it is implicit THAT IF YOU ARE POOR; THEY WON’T ALLOW YOU TO DONATE PLASMA AND GET SOME FINANCIAL RELIEF!!!
They dont require anyone, staff included, to wear masks or be vaccinated in this facility and do not maintain social distance. The unprofessionalism of potentially unvaccinated staff not wearing masks while working up close with high risk populations, also unmasked and potentially unvaccinated is extremely frightening. As soon as I saw the majority of staff not wearing masks, I should have turned around and walked out, however I had to pee and they try to persuade you to donate.
Olgam life is a very unprofessional work environment. I a lot of the things they do it’s not by the book and they try to go around it, to allow people to donate. Management is very unprofessional and if two employees are involved in a problem and one of them is there favorite they would make sure you get fired and all the blame would be put on you and not the other person. Management would make you think they ok your side when they really not
When I first went, I was one of the scariest people you would ever meet when it comes to needles....now because of the staff at Olgam life, I can get a needled in my brain while staring in a mirror and I wouldnt be scared..lololo...those guys are the best!!!...but to be serious, no brain needles for me...ever...just saying they are soooo nice

2022-07-02I have been to both the Brooklyn and Bronx location, and I must say without a doubt by far the Brooklyn location is better in so many ways. The staff is just as friendly but way more professional. The center itself its cleaner better looking more bright more inviting. The waiting area at the Brooklyn location is never dirty and never has wrappers and cups and water all over all over the floor. There are no ghetto vibes no ratchet vibes whatsoever. There are not people hanging out in front of the building cursing and smoking right at the front entrance at the front door. Staff is extremely accommodating extremely knowledgeable extremely patient extremely helpful. Ironically enough if you look at the reviews for The Bronx location there are a lot of five star reviews stating that its quick and how great it is. From my experience the only reason for those positive reviews is because of the $5 compensation that the Bronx location gives you for said review. I travel from the Bronx all the way to Brooklyn and back to the Bronx again and it takes me less time than if I go to the Bronx location which is only 20 minutes away from my house. If it is an option for you the Brooklyn donation center is the place to go, avoid the Bronx Center.

2022-07-18I went in on Sunday. Front desk staff not very friendly. Not really experienced in customer service. The young lady that took my blood pressure was friendly and lady that took my physical was professional. The lady that set me up on the machine to take my plasma was okay. She was brief and was stand offish. I called today because my card wasn’t working manually. I explained my situation to the receptionist and she was very short with me and hung up the phone. Very rude. I called back to speak with management and a different woman answered and put me on hold. I hung up because I didn’t feel they would even get the manager. As black women we must do better professionally and personally. Don’t get a customer service based job if you don’t like interacting with the public. As a manager I would see this as unacceptable and bad for business. Do a better job at screening and hiring front desk staff. They are the first employees the public interacts with and is the first impression of a company. Thank you.

2022-07-25Been coming here for a while now, staff is super friendly & nice. Facility is clean. I was attended by Ciara, who is a sweet & caring employee who I always share a laugh with. Very attentive with every donor she helps, I didn’t even feel anything when I was pricked w the needle. 10/10 service from her

2022-07-25The medical staff is very nice, the facility is clean, and the donation process is straightforward and quick. However the front desk process is made very annoying and difficult, and not worth going through for the money. Their computer system is bad and you have to go through the form to enter in your information over and over again. The music is loud and the waiting area is nauseating. They will refuse to estimate how long the wait is, so you can be waiting 20 minutes or 2 hours and youll have no idea until you actually get called. The payment system is through a prepaid card that has many restrictions on it and the process to activate and use it is very long winded.

2022-05-16My experience in this place is all positive the workers are so nice and the chemistry between workers is impeccable and they make sure you are okay while donating and will do anything in their power to make sure those who come in for their first time has a memorable experience. I am still a current donater and I continue to go every Monday Wednesday and Friday. I recommend Julia and Darwin if you feel nervous about donating

2022-05-17I enjoyed it and my service was great. Ms. Julissa not only provided comfort and professionalism but was also urgent in her effort and diligent about her working with me and co-workers. Good job Julissa.

2022-06-26Staff is friendly and professional but the only problem is that there are never enough of them working. Be prepared to be there for about 4 hours from start to finish especially on Sundays. Dont be decieved by the rather empty waiting room when you arrive because you will be comfortable there and then they bring you to the back waiting room which is jam packed and you will stand there for about an hour before they even put you in a bed where you will lay there for another hour before they even begin taking your plasma. Its a full day affair. What a waste of time !

2022-07-27Extremely slow. Checked in this Friday 340p didnt leave until 730p. A whole 1.5hrs after closing. My time spent actually donating was only 40 mins and no it was not my first donation. Its ridiculous how long you wait for intake(1hr+), then you wait to be assigned a bed(40min+) and then you still wait for them to connect you to machine (20min+). They need to work on processing speed.Edit: the email I was told to reach out to returned undeliverable
