As soon as you drive up, you are welcomed by a nice big sign! Just a forewarning, if you take the left at the light, immediately turn on your indicator to turn right as the driveway into Olivers is right there! When you step inside, the smell of fresh chocolate, and sweets fill you. They carry every sugar concoction you can dream of! The chocolates are my favorite! Milk, dark, chocolate covered, bars, candy coated, chocolate covered nuts, gift boxed, SUGAR FREE (and a great variety!), a make your own pixie stick station for the kids, or the big kid in you! They have Jelly Belly brand big gummy Dinos, and jelly beans, as well as other licensed candies, for the little ones to enjoy. They also have the cutest decor for serving your delectable sweets on, and greeting cards for many occasions. What I love, and have utilized twice myself, is their ability to pack and ship your goodies to send, right from the store! Thats right, and my items were sent to Arizona, and arrived within a week! My grandmother was so happy to receive some NY treats! Last but not least, check out their delicious ice cream shop around back! Delicious sundaes, and my favorite, the banana milkshake. You can sit in the little indoor area, or outdoors and enjoy your treat. They also have a freezer filled with yummy frozen treats to go. Take the scenic route, and get yourself some yummy sweets!
Ever since I was a little girl, Ive loved Olivers candy and the store! Such a variety of delicious chocolate creations! From mouth-watering truffles to original sponge candy and malted milk balls to glazed cashews and almonds to seasonal treats for Halloween, Easter, Thanksgiving and especially Christmas! Their ribbon candy is excellent! 💜
Its nice to see a chocolate store that makes its own candies. While the prices are a bit more than what you would pay for from store brands, the quality is better. Just about all of the candies if not all, looked as though they were all hand made in the back which shows the quality of the people making them. They also have a small ice cream parlor on the side which adds to the enjoyment! While this may not be a place to go all of the time, it indulge in a sweet treat here on occasion will definitely be worth it!
My first time visiting Oliver’s and WOW!! If you can’t find it here it doesn’t exist! They have it all. Chocolate, sponge candy and in many different flavors, rock candy, licorice, gummies, fudge, truffles, ribbon candy, nuts, and OMG the Ice Cream!! Their scoops of Ice Cream are enormous!! Like the size of my head! I had the Bourbon Caramel and it was phenomenal. I can’t believe the number of times I’ve driven past and never stopped in until now. I’ll never make that mistake again.
I ordered candy from this store online and the person helping me was so personable and efficient. When I received the candy, it was shipped with an ice pack to insure it wouldnt melt, and there were no broken candies due to the excellent packaging of the products. Yum, Yum, yum! Thank you so much for sending out these hard-to-find items, and for your outstanding customer service =)
Visited back before the holidays and the place was crazy busy. You can tell its a beloved local shop.Selection is decent, they have a nice variety of things to choose from in a range of sizes. The chocolate is pretty good, not the best Ive had from area chocolatiers, but overall pretty solid.
I have so many sweet memories of Olivers. Im in my late 60s and have been coming there since I was in 1st grade, traveling from Clarence to Keuka Lake...and Olivers never disappoints. Brought some friends on Tuesday and received outstanding customer service from Dave. He was friendly, courteous and very helpful...he is a great representative for your store. Many thanks!
This is how my gift from my granddaughter arrived. There were no separation between the different kinds of the ribbons. I used to live in Batavia and bought your Ribbon candy and this is unacceptable. My granddaughter Rebecca Gusler from PA. Along with assorted chocolates and nuts had this sent and arrived in port Orchard, Wa,today. Rita Greco
This is not only the Finest candy shop in the world, and yes, Ive travelled 63 countries, but no chocolate on earth is close in texture, flavor, and natural warmth. This shop does not just make candies, they make childhood memories that last a lifetime. You can not find anything crafted in this shop that is anything shy of perfect. If you purchase anything less for your wife or mother, you dont really love them.
My husband and I ordered chocolates from Olivers. We live in Jacksonville Florida. We received the candy in less than a week. The candy was packaged very carefully and they even included an ice bag, so that the chocolate didnt melt. We have never ordered from them before, but I can say, we will order from them again. The chocolate is so delicious! None of it was melted. I also ordered some pecan logs, like the ones you can buy from the state of Georgia. You usually find them in truck stops and gas stations. I have to say, that Olivers, has Stuckeys beat. The pecan logs were very fresh. The nougat in the middle just melted in your mouth. Both my husband and I are very happy with our purchase!
Their ice cream is out of this world! Their selection of candies and confections have hugely improved over the last couple years. Im still not a fan of their chocolate though. Im a chocolate lover, and even otc dove is better. Niagra and Henrys chocolates are creamier, sweeter and just better.
First time there, have been by it a thousand times. Glad we stopped this time. Nice shop that has variety of chocolates and unique gifts. We bought orange, coconut, peanut, and peppermint chocolates. Haley that works there was very helpful, and a pleasure to talk with. Will definitely stop there again!!!
Years ago there was competition for the best icecream place in Batavia, not anymore, better service and icecream is not to be had in town. The price is marginally high but not by much. Also you better get while the getting good because flavors seem to always be changing, but there is always something good.
While looking at items on a shelf a female employee rudely step in front of me never said excuse my or anything, blocking me from the items I was looking at and she began stocking the shelf and talking to another customer. When we went to check out the same female was at the register and asked the people in front of us if they were a rewards member and explained it to them. When we stepped up she never asked us about the rewards membership and rudely said are you paying by credit, does it have chip well put it in the machine. She then began talking to another customer who had asked another employee a question and never said anything to us including thank you. We will not return to Olivers and will recommend to others not to go there. The whole experience was a great disappointment.
What a gem of a place! Lots of different types of candy to choose from. We got the peanut butter sponge candy and salted caramel candies. They were amazing! And the 2 women working there were nice enough to make us a makeshift cooler so our chocolate candy wouldnt melt on our 6 hour drive home. Very nice!!! Whenever we are in the area again we will be sure to stop back!!
Hands down, this is the BEST chocolate store Ive ever been to! True, I grew up in Batavia for the most part, but honestly I even order from there now that Ive moved away. I think theyre chocolate has the best texture & taste - smooth and creamy. Sponge candy is my ultimate favorite, and nowhere else compares. The employees are always very helpful and nice. Even my kids love this place and we stop every time we are in town.
This is the place of legendary chocolates and sweets. My mom brought us to her hometown chocolatier for a special treat when we were little. Everyone in the family had their favorite. Homemade and still use the same displays. They serve ice cream in the summer too. Plenty of parking at the intersection of 2 major roads. It will always be a treat.
Great place for specialty candies. I do miss being able to see the candy made. They closed off that part of the facility. Staff has also changed. To the boy running register.... those nails looked great but nys food safety clearly states workers should not have painted or fake nails when working with food.
Every time Im in the area, I have to stop here. They have quite a variety of chocolates, including some sugar free varieties. Every visit offers something different, especially the various holiday candies. This time we tried the ice cream, which was delicious! Definitely worth a trip if you are in the area and looove chocolate 😍
Best chocolate in New York state! All candies are made locally and they have a huge variety. I love that they also have samples to try. You can buy large packages or smaller treat sized. They have specials occasion items as well. Olivers has an ice cream parlor as well. For those in your party that have dietary restrictions there are no sugar added treats too, and I tried the dark chocolate almond bark and it was as good as the sugar added stuff! End you visit with some fun family photo opportunities outside as well. A must visit for all with a sweet tooth(or even if you want a quality plush toy!).
While I was in Batavia for work this was one of the few worthwhile places to visit. In the two weeks I was in the area for work I came here 3 times to sample chocolate and over buy candy. Staff was extremely nice, friendly, accommodating and helpful. I asked one woman what chocolate sponge cake was and she explained that it was a western New York specialty and offered me a full sized piece to sample, it was awesome! Highly suggested if you happen to be in the area, you wont be disappointed :)
Great candy shop! All of the candies are homemade and taste great, the prices are fair, but are high compared to those bought in a normal store. The best part is they are open until 2100 everyday! They also have some rejects at the counter you can try (usually ones that broke or were not the correct shape). Their ribbon candy is superb and there is nothing like it in any other store.
This place is a gem. Being from the area I have consistently visited here for holiday gifts. Mothers day, Easter, Christmas, birthdays, anniversaries. A basket or box of chocolates from Olivers is a guaranteed smile. I also highly recommend their rewards program! Saved $10 on a purchase today!
Great local candy shop in Batavia -- highly recommended. Literally right on Main Street. So whether you are traveling through town or jumping off the thruway -- this place is not too far off. They have everything your heart may desire if you are having a chocolate craving. Bring your sweet tooth!
A great candy store! If you like thin ribbon candy, this is the place to go. It is available starting the week of thanksgiving until they sell out. If you have never tried sponge candy, you need to try theirs. If you need sweets for the holidays or a special hostess gift, Olivers is the place to shop.
Delicious chocolates, hard candy and nostalgic treats await the visitor who enters Olivers Chocolates in Batavia New York. Whether youre looking for sweet party treats or holiday favorites Olivers is the place to go. They even have your favorite ice cream flavors available in cones or cups...perfect for a summer day visit. I thoroughly enjoyed my visit.....especially the treats I took home! You should check them out!
Craftsmen quality chocolate. Folks drive for hours to shop here. Its a zoo around Easter but so what, the smell alone is worth paying for. And not just chocolates, glazed cashews are addictive, heck the whole shop is addictive! Every thing is made right there and you can order online and have it shipped or made ready to pick up. Look for their half dipped mint creams too. My kids would clean out the garage for them.
A must-visit location for anyone that loves homemade candy. Christmas is especially festive with an array of wonderful gift ideas and stocking stuffers – from cute mugs full of “snowball” candies to Christmas themed chocolate lollipops and chocolate candy canes. Let’s not forget delicious sponge candy in assorted flavors along with the beautiful boxes of ribbon candy. Make sure to check out the ice cream parlor in the back of the store, too. Delicious and homemade flavors some of which are inspired by their candy variations such as cashew glaze and sponge candy ice cream!
Olivers has changed over the years and not for the better. The quality of the chocolate has gone down The part that turned us off several boxes of chocolates had more of the lesser expensive candies in the assortment . On the display shelves is the piece count per box. We decided to see if the counts were accurate on the boxes we purchased. Every single box was under the amount listed. Mistake? If so why were none of the boxes over? The size of the boxes didnt matter they were all under the piece count. Dishonest to say the least. Shame on Olivers.
My wife and I have had chocolate from everywhere: Sees from San Francisco, Leonidas and Godiva from Brussels, Munsons here in CT, but we both agree that Olivers in Batavia is the very best. We make a pound of their milk chocolate caramels last as long as we can (we hide them from the kids!). There are lots of other good sweet treats as well, including white chocolate lolipops that we bring back for the kids. Quality at this level is worth paying for, and were so glad Olivers is going strong.
We used to live in Batavia...20 yrs. ago, and loved Olivers Candies then. Now, when we come back to WNY, we make sure to stop and stock up on our favorites we cant get in Denver...cashew glaze, orange flavored chocolate, and coconut snow peaks. DELICIOUS! Worth the drive, from Buffalo or Rochester!
Did not even try the candy yet but the whole time we were in the store they were following us around i did not get to look at everything I wanted and did not purchase what I wanted and bought things I didnt want to purchase because we felt so uncomfortable and felt like they want anyone in there even though it was in the middle of the day
So i have had one of the worst experiences with ordering my mints mind you they were suppose to be delivered on November 19 2018 didnt arrive till november 24th when i opened the first box pieces were broken and stuck together. They are refusing a refund. So ill never ever be buying from this place again.
I have loved Olivers for years, and my most recent experience only confirmed this yet again. There was an issue with the post office and shipping. After finding the problem, they hand delivered my order to my office to ensure it got to me by my deadline. Huge thank you to all who worked to resolve this for me!!

2022-05-04They used to make the chocolate in store but it appears most if not all is brought in and resold as their own. Its good chocolate wherever it comes from. The younger staff are rude and not helpful but the more seasoned staff couldnt be nicer.

2021-02-28I forgot to take pictures in the store! Weve driven by so many times on the way to Buffalo/Niagara and today we finally stopped.Immediately walked in to an Easter candy wonderland. Chocolate in the shape of bunnies, eggs, even tractors! They have chocolate covered nuts, brittle, gummy candy, and so much more.We purchased dark chocolate covered buttercrunch (not sure of the actual name but it was like a toffee/brittle taste), cashew clusters, rock candy, assorted chocolate pops, etc, and the most delicious sponge candy!!! Very light and airy, not hard, covered in yummy chocolate. Also had complimentary coffee in the icecream shop area which was nice on this chilly day.

2020-01-09MY FIRST TIME HERE!!! Honestly great place came for the Ice Cream. Wasnt sure what to get. The employee was very quick to help me and gave me an EXCELLENT SUGGESTION. If you like Carmel get the Sponge Candy Ice cream. VERY friendly staff willing to strike conversation quick and help me as well. Heck the bathrooms blew me away by how beautifully nice they were DEFINITELY COMING BACK.
