Omni Berkshire Place in New York
Walkability to many attractions & subway. Check-in welcoming & efficient. Bathroom had traces of prior occupant. Front office staff was extremely responsive & apologetic with regards to the bathroom situation and remedied the unpleasant experience with a room upgrade and a cheese/cracker/fruit tray.
Its a great hotel with a fantastic location. Room was nice and quiet too on the 8th floor. Great shower pressure which surprised us. We went to a show at Radio City Music Hall and it was so convenient to walk a few blocks up back to the hotel when it was over. Very close to St. Patricks, 5th Ave, Rockefeller Ctr etc. Staff is friendly, helpful and down to earth - bellman and doormen great. (Shout out to Lenny too, who also does Tik Tok apparently 😊). Super efficient process to get you sorted out at valet with your bags etc. when you pull up in the car which is so helpful especially when you have kids with you and especially so in NYC given the traffic! Will definitely stay here again.
The location of the Berkshire nestled right off 5th Ave and 52nd street is great if you want to be in the action but not right on top of the hustle and bustle. More importantly, the staff is absolutely amazing. The Berkshire will be on the top of our list for annual family trip to NYC.
The Omni Berkshire is a Four Star Hotel but Damil at the bar turned it into a Five Star experience. Visiting Damil at Berks Bar every evening was a must for all my family (makes the best Gibson and Dirty martinis.). The Omni was what we expected for the price - but Damil exceeded our expectations for a hotel bar. Hes probably the greatest unexpected asset in the hotel. We met many locals a Berks Bar that mentioned, we just came to visit Damil. ANYWAY GREAT EXPERIENCE AT THE BAR AND AT THE OMNI BERKSHIRE - HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!
First the cons:No in-room coffee (coffee is available in the on-site restaurant beginning at 6:30, but if you are a really early riser like me, this is way too late)No complimentary coffee (you get two tickets good for one free drink, but a) I was actually charged when I used them and b) who doesnt provide free coffee?)Website says room service is available but I did not see that as an option (this could have been me and not them)Could not connect to the streaming option on the television (but who needs TV when youre in NYC?)Pros:Everything else is amazing. The marble bathrooms are beautiful, the staff is top-notch (I learned from a friend that Lenny, the doorman is a long time employee -- so glad to see they brought the old guard back instead of hiring all new staff), the beds are super comfortable. They upgraded my stay to a Madison suite (because they had the room they probably saw a chance to earn a repeat customer. It paid off because I cannot imagine staying anywhere else now.) The location is one of the best in the city -- we walked nearly everywhere. To be honest, this is not my usual price point, but I decided to gift myself an early Christmas present to celebrate my new job. I am a fan and I will be back.
The hotel is located in the perfect location in midtown right off 5th avenue. The personnel are incredibly nice and accommodating. The staff in the restaurant are phenomenal. I brought colleagues and they too found the place fantastic.Nor, Naz and Thomas were awesome to me (recognizing and remembering me) and my colleagues. Just a great hotel and one I will use for my future trips.
Amazing service! The staff is very attentive, the rooms are very clean and comfortable. I was very pleased to hear they opened up after COVID and of course it was my first choice to go in my stay in NY. The hotel location is fantastic, it’s near everything you may need and amazing shops. I would recommend it 100%.I’m a really happy customer!!!😁😁
I am most impressed with the care and service of the people who work at the Omni Berkshire. I have frequented this hotel for many years and when I return each year the staff remembers me and the times I visited with my grandchildren. They are so warm and inviting and make you feel like a welcomed guest in their home.May 2022.I returned to the Omni this past weekend. The staff is amazing and I learned that most of them have returned. Lenny and William are still gracefully doing their job as DOORMEN. Adam at the front desk is professional and most accommodating. Mary and Blossom in housekeeper were so kind and helpful. And not to forget...Ean in tech support and Kamal. This hotel has the very BEST internal staff/ and the location is perfect for a wonderful NYC visit.Looking forward to my next visit..
Very courteous staff, bellhop was super friendly, the room was immaculate and well laid out with pleasing decorations. I appreciate that the hotel took the time to invest in decent chairs in the hotel rooms. They had a very nice Valentine’s Day mini celebration with complimentary drinks and baked goods. I’d recommend staying here.
We stayed a week at Omni Berkshire over Christmas 2019 and it was fantastic, nice big room with a really comfortable bed. Rooms were nice and clean. We didnt buy anything or ordered room service or charge to the room and when we checked out there were no nasty surprises. We booked January 2019 when there was no resort fees and the hotel honoured this with no additional resort fees which was great. The hotel lobby is really nice and had amazing decoration for Christmas. The concierge service were a great source of knowledge on how to navigate the sub way so that was great to. We went to bobs bar for a few drinks and the bartender Sonny K was first class and was also a great source of info about the city he was the best bartender in New York (trust me, I got to loads of bars during our visit). The hotel are active on social media which is a bonus for me as they were interacting with me before and after our stay. I would highly recommend this hotel, it was everything you hope for in a new York hotel with the cool looking entrance and door staff who were also very helpful.
We loved this hotel! The staff was friendly, the check in/out was easy, the room was incredibly clean and all new decor. The room service was great, but the food wasn’t really worth the price. However the staff were so wonderful. The beds could be comfier, but even with that, we would definitely stay here again.
Stayed her for about 3 nights and 4 days. Honestly, one of the best hotels I’ve ever stayed at and it was extremely clean. The door men were nice and opened the doors for the building and our car service. The gentlemen at the counter was great and welcoming. I am very picky of the places I choose to stay and I have to say when I come back to visit NYC I will stay here again. Thank you to all of the staff here at The Omni Berkshire Place!
I cannot say enough wonderful things about the staff and property. We were floored by the friendliness and professionalism of every staff member we encountered. The accommodations were fantastic - much more spacious than other nearby hotels and shockingly quiet! Excellent location as well. We will absolutely be returning. I wish we could experience this level of welcome everywhere we travel.
Great hotel. I had a weekend in NY to myself and could not have picked a better hotel. My room was spacious, cozy and impeccably clean. Hotel staff was courteous and helpful. Location is ideal. It is in the heart of everything but also very quiet. Everytime I choose Midtown I do not regret it. Never heard any street noise and the lobby was never congested. It has everything you need and nothing you dont. If you are looking for a respite from the hustle and bustle but want to have it right outside your door this is a perfect place.
Good hotel. Not massive, which helped keep crowding down at check in and check out. Bed and pillows were comfortable. Bathroom is big and clean. We had a view of St. Patricks from our room. Fitness centre is average - not great, but not bad. Did not eat at the hotel. The only thing that kept this from a five star rating was loud staff in the hallways in the morning. On our last day, maintenance was banging on the door at 9:00 even though we had the do not disturb sign showing. They needed to replace the tv. Very polite when I told them that we hadnt checked out yet, but seriously, do not disturb generally means leave me alone.
Great location. Close to multiple subway stations, but also close enough to walk to many attractions, including multiple Broadway theatres. We were celebrating our daughters’ birthdays, and Krystle left a sweet birthday note and special treats for our girls on our first night (Thank you!). The concierge and doormen were extremely helpful and friendly, and the front desk was always willing to answer questions with a smile. Comfortable beds, clean room, and nice, adequately sized bathroom for multiple girls to get ready in the mornings. Would stay here again.
Great location, close to everything but best part was the staff that my daughter and I encountered. Front desk staff (lady named Luci?) was super friendly and made us feel so welcome! The concierge (Mary?) was also a breath of fresh air..personable, knowledgeable and very friendly! Really enjoyed the staff at this hotel..made you feel at home right away.Room was clean, not very large but washroom was good. Room did not have free water but otherwise ok.Ate at steakhouse and had pretty good food!Recommend Fig and Olive across the street!
We only had a short stay of 3 days but we had absolutely no complaints! Our room was ready for an early check-in, it was clean and newly renovated, and housekeeping came every morning to tidy up and make the bed. The staff was also very helpful and polite! I would recommend this hotel to anyone I know visiting NYC and wanting to be in a great location. We were a short walk to the subway, Rockefeller Center, Times Square, and tons of shopping/restaurants. Cant wait to hopefully come back and stay here again!
Stayed here last spring with my boyfriend and we had a more than pleasant experience. The staff was very friendly and welcoming, we were even able to check in early since the room was ready before our check in time (they didnt even charge us a fee for that). The doorman was our favorite employee, he was so helpful and gave us easy directions to where we wanted to go, he also took the liberty to tell us about some great places nearby. The room was a very nice size with a big bed that was perfect considering how tall my boyfriend is. We will definitely be staying at this hotel often.
Overall nice stay. Staff overall nice. Furniture in our suite was a bit damages, tatty and worn out and should be changed asap. Lovely location and food at hotel was a bit limited in selection but overall good. Room service level of service was very good. Lack of protocols for picking up car service to airport booked through hotel led to a stressful trip to the airport as we somehow were put into the wrong car by the doorman and felt like we were caught up in some sort of scam that fortunately did not lead to anything more than some emotional discomfort for the duration of our ride to the airport. Overall a very nice stay and as long as they get the furniture sorted and some basic protocols established for using the hotels car services we would likely stay here again.
Our stay at this hotel met all of our expectations. Our children are adults and they wanted their privacy as we did yet we had the spacious living room for a gathering place. Im a bit of a fussy person when it comes to cleanliness but the room didnt disappoint. The staff was extremely helpful and courteous. The door guy was great.
If I’m ever back in New York, and, can’t wait to be, I would definitely consider staying here again. Super clean, excellent location and staff is super friendly! My only issue is they do not have vending machines or even a boutique store on site, so you have to either get room service which can be expensive or walk across the street to the store/restaurant which has pretty good food by the way. My husband has a preference for a more “ happening” bar as well. Otherwise, food is excellent, beds are super comfortable and the rooms are very well laid out! Love love LOVE the bathrooms!
Hotel very well situated. However rooms are not clean, lots of dust especially on lamps. the mattress are old and need to be changed asap, you would expect this type of bed in a two star hotel not in a 4 star.We asked the concierge for a kid friendly restaurant he reserved for us at the seafire grill. What a mistake. Not only its not kid friendly, but the food was less than average even for adults...Over all not a good experience.
Location is convenient. The hotel receptionists and concierge were all friendly and professional. The lobby was clean although smelled slightly of smoke. The blanket cover didnt look laundered and had yellow stains at the bottom.Fire alarm checks were done sometime between 8 and 9am (maybe in the future do this at 11am when people are checking out ?)For me, a hotel is as good as it is in returning items youve left behind. I left an old Kindle ( which was a gift and I dearly loved). I clearly remember leaving it on the room table and unfortunately forgot to pack it. I called 24 hours later and the hotel said they didnt find anything. This was very disappointing to me. I liked the check- in and check-out but considering the dirty blanket covers, being woken with fire alarms and my Kindle not being returned, my overall the stay was not enjoyable. I wouldnt come back.
LOVE IT! Staff was nice and helpful with room change from 2-double to 1-kind bed. The room was a 5-star standard, comfy bed with down pillows. Top quality shower and toilet. Prime location with walkable distance to tons of fine restaurants, convenient stores, drug stores. Highly recommended!
Amazing anniversary weekend made possible by the Omni Berkshire Hotel New York. This hotel is a beautiful gem located in upper midtown. The staff went far and beyond not make sure our stay was a memorable one. Clean room, great guest services and walking distance to major points of interest. Highly recommend this hotel.
We have stayed at Omni Hotels all over the US and this was our first negative experience. Our problems started with the booking agent - as we were trying to use a free night we had earned. They had to make the reservations separately since we were staying more than one night (total of 2). The agent made a mistake and booked the free night for 1 room with 1 king size bed...we had our 3 children with us so this was obviously a mistake. The gentleman at the front desk...while not rude...did not believe us when we said there was a mix up by the reservation assistant - The best they could do was one room with 2 full size beds and a cot. Due to the tiny room, we needed to have furniture removed just to be able to fold out the cot...considering we were not planning on spending much time in the room over the 3 days (2 nights) we made the best of it. - since our room had a terrible view, we wanted to take the kids up to St Patricks balcony (i think it was called) but it was locked for maintenance? Add to that the frustrating TV and Internet service and we were actually happy to leave on the morning of the 3rd day. - I will say that the door man was excellent, NYC did NOT disappoint (this was out first visit) and the location of this Hotel could not be better! Walking distance to Central Park and lots of small cafes. **Update** - Omni did refund us for the parking upon check out. - Then just recently we received an e-mail that they have had a chance to review the phone conversation my wife had with the Reservation assistant and we were offered a free night at the Berkshire. We will be back in the hopes of creating a different experience and renewing our trust in the Omni Chain of hotels.
Great location, clean room, friendly staffs. Many independent cafes around. Steps to shops on fifth and central park. Enjoy our morning coffee walk to the park. The hotel is fairly clean and organized, nothing negative to point out; except we got stunk in the elevator once but hotel engineer got us out within five minutes.I would stay here again, very decent hotel accommodation for your money.
I stayed here for NYE weekend and the location was perfect. Extremely close to many venues while still being in a decent and quiet neighborhood. The inside decor was very sophisticated and definitely provided a cozy feel especially when contrasted to the cold winter air. The room also was very nicely decorated. The bathroom was quite big and fancy. The bed was one of the largest and most comfortable that Ive had the pleasure of sleeping on. I would definitely recommend this hotel to others.
First of all, Krystle Nieves, the Loyalty Ambassador, was fantastic. Very friendly, and was more than happy to help with my room requests.... Krystle is a great asset to your Berkshire Place team. Bravo. The room itself was fantastic - how can you go wrong with the Madison Suite? Ive always enjoyed the food and drinks at Bobs, as well, and always look forward to a great dinner. From the front desk to the housekeeping staff, every single employee with whom I had contact was absolutely generous and fantastic. Thank you for a great stay - we are very grateful to everyone.
The staff and room service were excellent, our room was upgraded and we were truly disappointed to leave at the end of our trip. Just love this place and it is in such a great position for sightseeing. My husband is going to arrange a trip back to the Omni Berkshire For my birthday next April which I shall be so looking forward to. We stayed with you last December but didn’t realise until now that I had not put on a review. Look forward to returning next year and thank you for a wonderful stay last year.
Great location! For Times Square, Central Park, Grand Central etc. this is a great place to start your day. There are some things that could be improved upon in the rooms. Size of the bathrooms, drawer space and no coffee maker. For the price of the room these could be better.
I dont try to be overly negative with reviews but my experience here was very poor. My girlfriend and I tried to check in early at 2:30, we were tired from going around the city and we had a meet up with a friend at 4 that we needed to attend. The front desk associate told us that they would text us when the room was available. This was totally understandable and fair. Check in isnt until 3. 3 came around and they still didnt have anything. We had to visit the desk two more times to get updates, finally getting our keys at around 3:40. We had to cancel with our friend. Patricia the front desk staff told us that we would receive a complimentary bottle of wine and fruit when we arrived back later at 11:30 pm.The room itself was very nice. Had a poor view overall but the bed was soft and luxurious, the room clean, and the shower hot. It was a small king deluxe room which seems to be the generic king room for the hotel, but it satisfied us.We came back from our journey at around 11 pm and were waiting to receive our amenity. When 11:30 rolled around I called the front desk and asked about the status of the amenity. She told me that she was checking with the manager and would send it right up. After around 15 more minutes of waiting I called and asked to speak to the manager. She said that he would call me back in 5 minutes. 8 minutes later I called again and finally was able to speak to the manager named Patrick. I explained the situation to him and he said that the note on our room was not put in and that he had to rush them preparing the wine and fruit. I told him that I appreciate his transparency, but my issue with the hotel now is not because the physical features of the hotel are wrong or bad, my issue is that the staff doesnt seem like they can keep a promise. I told him that we were ready for bed, but he said that it should be up to our room shortly. He also stated that he would try to alleviate this error by comping us breakfast the next morning. A little after 12 I called again to speak to the manager and received his voice mail. I clarified that we were still waiting and wanted the wine and fruit. We waited till 1 am before sleeping. The next morning we woke up and went down for breakfast. I told the associate at the front desk that we had never received our amenity. He apologized and handed us two more drink tickets to the bar. The associate also assured us that we could order whatever we wanted for breakfast and that it would be covered by the breakfast ticket. Unfortunately I am not sure if the front desk associate knew what he was talking about regarding breakfast because the tickets would only cover cost up to a certain meal on the menu ($28). After explaining the situation to the restaurant manager. He understood that we received the wrong information from the hotel but was happy to let me receive my meal anyways. At checkout a front desk asked me how my stay was. I told him that I was really disappointed and had a negative experience because of all the confusion and broken promises I received from the hotel. The associate that was checking us out told me that someone from Omni would be in touch to try and take down my concerns, and I hope they do.I didnt need free drinks, I didnt need a bottle of wine, and I dont need free breakfast. Those are awesome, great benefits to staying, and it did help brighten my mood. All I wanted was to be treated like a person, like a real customer. I understand that humans are imperfect, and I understand that organizing a large staff on individuals in a hotel can be challenging at times, but the Omni failed for my stay. I didnt feel respected, I didnt feel like my time was valued, I didnt feel like my concerns were listened to, and I didnt feel like they were actually going to change the way they were doing things. And that is the problem with all of this. Because if it has happened to me, it can happen to someone else.
Hotel was very pleasant and our room was very comfortable and clean. On our last two days, however, my husband became very unwell and had to be taken to an emergency medical clinic a few hours before we were due to depart. The hotel staff did not offer any sympathy, ask how he was or ask if we needed anything (we are not American and clearly far away from our home). The only concern seemed to be how much we were going to pay to extend our check out. It was a real shame as it really coloured our opinion of the hotel and indeed the trip of how little they cared about general well-being of their guests.
Omni BerkshireThis is our second visit to this hotel and a different experience from the first.Staff was friendly and efficient at check in. Our status with Omni is Black and has been for several years so perhaps our expectations are a bit high but a couple of the things we just take for granted were not there. We were not offered a room upgrade, we had to ask about the amenity that normally just shows up, and we had to ask for the door tags to get our complimentary morning beverages, again we are a bit spoiled by Omni with these perks and I would prefer to never have to request them.We had multiple holds placed on our account that no one could explain. Our room was right next to the elevator and we could hear all the conversations in the hallway, they were doing some kind of work on our floor and it was loud enough to wake us up in the morning.Internet was spotty this and the TV kept freezing. The hotel is in a very nice location, close to Rockefeller, and a reasonable walk to Central Park and lots of shopping. Our previous stay here a year ago was perfect, so I only would hope this was a fluke.
Room very small!!! The room was advertised as a king bed deluxe room; however the bed is definitely not a king and the room is smaller than most standard hotel rooms. They also charge $80 per 24hr period to park your car. The room was clean, but linen and bath robe looked dingy. Very expensive, mediocre hotel, I would not consider this a 4.5 star hotel by far!!! I do have to say the staff were friendly and very welcoming.
Such a wonderful stay. The hotel is ideally located, close to some of the city’s top attractions like the 5th ave which is at a short minute walk, there are fantastic restaurants nearby, and the subway. We had a gorgeous room with a breathtaking view of the city from the balcony. The staff is excellent. Highly recommend this hotel. One of my faves in NYC.
We chose the Omni for our daughters 21st birthday. We initially considered staying at the hotel because the website offered gorgeous upgraded suites and apartments and guest rooms appeared spacious and the pricing was affordable. The hotel is also in a prime uptown location and some rooms have spectacular views of Saint Patricks Cathedral.Once I called the reservation desk the woman was so friendly and accommodating that we immediately called back and reserved rooms for our 10 guests.Upon arrival the doorman and bellman were extremely helpful and friendly. The lobby needs an upgrade, however, the very accomodating management and check in staff quickly makes up for the lobby appearance.Due to the fact that our reservation request was not available, they quickly rectified the situation by upgrading us to another suite that was recently renovated and absolutely gorgeous! With a terrace that offered breathtaking views! Our family travels frequently and stays at numerous hotels around the world - the Omni staff is comparable to a five star hotel - the rooms are spacious for a NY hotel and the prices are extremely fair. With continued renovations, this hotel could quickly become a five star ... the staff and hotel culture is already there!
We were in NYC for 5 nights at this awesome hotel. Large, comfortable room. Friendly staff and a perfect location close to the sights we wanted to see. Bobs Steakhouse was great for a drink and the Prime Rib sliders are the best! We will definitely stay there again and recommend it highly to our friends and family.
We had an amazing stay at the Omni Berkshire Place. The location is superb, the rooms were nice and super comfortable. We booked a suite and it was very spacious. The staff is friendly and helpful. The room service was fast and delicious. I could go on and on- this is a great hotel for the price and location and service!
Price, location and quality were the criteria that I used to select our hotel. Our check in process was quick and easy. We were told that we received free Wi-Fi access because we used Prestigia to book our reservation. This was an unexpected perk. The location is conveniently located in an upscale area. Our room was the Deluxe with a king size bed. It was clean, nicely furnished, and in good shape. The bed and pillows were comfortable, and the room was quiet. We had two minor issues during our stay: 1) The air conditioner did not work properly in our room. We notified the staff and they repaired it while we were out. 2) We asked the concierge one question, and both of us found him to be a bit rude. Kudos to the rest of the hotel staff because they were excellent. Thank you to all of them for making our stay so pleasant.
Very disappointing experience at the Omni Berkshire Place. Although we are Platinum Level Select Guest members, we got a We got none of the amenities promised for this guest level. The very basic room was equivalent to a motel room for a quarter of the cost we paid. Upon arrival, the room was very dirty; dust on surfaces, debris on floor. While the loyalty manager and housekeeping supervisor made sure the room was thoroughly cleaned, it shouldnt be necessary to complain in order to get a clean room. It is unlikely that we would stay here again.
Expected better. We arrived over an hour after the check-in time to find our rooms (2) werent ready. After some complaining we were offered food/drink credit. But then were told they found some available rooms for us instead. This was done pretty quickly which was good. But an hour into getting into our rooms for one of them we were told they gave us the wrong room and they had to move us. And the new room had double of some toiletries and not others like conditioner. As part of the Select Guest program there was a note saying we could get complimentary juices delivered to the room in the morning. However instructions werent clear so we didnt realize we missed this benefit until it was too late.We did book this through expedia and got some food/beverage credit. But this would barely cover more than 1 drink.Paid for valet and they brought the wrong car! Which we didnt realize until asking about it. This all took an extra hour of our time to get out of here.Room was clean though and bed was comfortable. However Ive stayed at cheaper hotels in the city that were of similar quality and much better value for money.
Amazing Service and Great Hotel restaurant!!!! We stayed there for Thanksgiving eve 2017 and my husband and I were very impressed how attentive they were with their guests. The first night when we arrived, shortly after there was a knock on our door and surprised our kids with milk and chocolate chip cookies...The rooms are very nice and there were so many little detail touches that made our stay very comfortable and inviting. I will definitely consider staying there again maybe around Christmas, because the location is fantastic.
I recommend a higher floor for better sleep. Traffic in NYC is loud. Beep beep. The Omni was able to move my room for a quieter stay. The closets and safe were great. One mattress was better than the another. Pillows were good. The rooms were clean. The bathrooms and amenities were good. The hairdryer needed to be replaced and cleaned. The towels were nice. The rooms dont have water bottles. Very odd but there is water in lobby. No vending machines. Water pressure better on lower floors. Toto toilets were good. I liked the desk and lounge chair. The A.C. worked well. Dark drapes were great. Lots of electrical plugs were great. Also loved the evening turn down service. Great touch!
Pretty nice hotel in a great location of Midtown. It seems fairly updated but not overly fancy or full of amenities, and we enjoyed it for the room rate we had (as part of a wedding block it was $209; I wouldve been disappointed had we paid $450+ for the nights). The beds are SUPER comfortable, highly recommend at least a King Deluxe.
Nice hotel. Large rooms. Nice closets. However, a billing mistake took too long to correct while checking out. A manager had to be involved to fix a simple double charge. Also, I received a note in the room for free coffee and a garment press, but I could not use it. I was told this was for next time, which did not make sense.
Had a wonderful time. It was my sons first time in NYC and he was amazed with the service. A special thank you to your doorman (Lenny?) who gave us some great suggestions and actually helped with the bags when we departed. Loved the food at Bobs as well. It has been 20 years since our last visit to NYC. I guarantee because of your hotel and staff, we wont wait that long to return again. Thank you.
The location is absolute perfection for Manhattan. We were easily able to walk to Central Park, Rockefeller Center, Times Square, St. Patrick’s, Saks and more. We arrived on a Saturday and the hotel was sold out. The room we initially had was a standard king and was a little small for two adults and one small child, however, we were able to move to a much larger room overlooking Madison Avenue the following night. It was awesome! It felt quintessentially New York and the people watching really did complete our trip.
I was working too much to be able to enjoy any of the amenities here, but the room was spacious and quiet. The bed was great, and the water was hot when needed, and the staff (whenever I encountered them, which was rarely) were friendly and interested in my comfort. What more can one ask?
The Omni Berkshire is a fairly affordable hotel in a very expensive area. Its nice enough and clean enough. Rooms are small but sufficient and very dated. Staff is friendly, restaurant is decent but extremely over priced like most hotel restaurants. The only major complaint is the elevators were extremely noisy and could be heard from my room that was 4-5 rooms away.Overall just an ok experience but good enough if you just need a place to sleep.
Great location, very efficient check in. Ive stayed many times here and am never disappointed. Even though facing Madison avenue, I find it relatively calm and quiet. Rims are comfortable and will arranged though mine was showing a few small signs of wear, and I imagine the Berkshire will be up for a full renovation soon as to stay fresh and current with others in the chain and competing hotels in the area. Still a great place in new York
After a 12 hour overnight flight I was not made to feel welcome at the hotel. The hotel would not take my card and had me go to the ATM to withdraw all the cash plus a large deposit for ‘extras.’ They could have done much better. Beyond that the rooms are average not to the standard I expected. Do better
The rooms were cleaned thoroughly everyday. The location, the room, and the service were all wonderful. I was willing to pay the fee but the desk staff cut me off almost before I had the chance to ask. Their service and staff and very friendly and helpful. What had been a great little gem in ***hattan has lost its charm.
I have been staying at this hotel for years. We celebrated anniversaries and birthdays at the Omni Berkshire. We’ve also stayed at many other locations around the country because we trust the safety and convenience of Omni. For this trip I planned a surprise vacation for my husband and I was beyond excited to come back to this hotel. Upon checking in I was advised that there was a $100 hold to be placed my card for incidentals, I did know this as I had called the hotel ahead of time to get the exact total. While waiting for the room to be ready my husband and I went to grab lunch, at which time I checked my account and I was in fact charged $300 instead. When my husband checked with the hotel he was met with a “it is what it is” response and “call your bank” instruction. The manager did apologize for the lack of information given when we checked in but nothing would be done. I am very sad and very upset at this experience and I will say we sadly won’t be back. I can’t understand treating a customer this way.
Lenny, the best door man ever, welcome you like a princess. He is such a gentleman. Each time we come to OMNI Berkshire place NY, we look forward to that warm welcome. Also, Danielle, assistant director and Jassica, they are amazing. They take care of us. They make sure we are happy and satisfied. We feel home at this hotel. We are close to fifth avenue, great shopping. 10 min walk to Central Park, amazing location, 10 min walk to Time Square. Finally and not the last, the rooms are clean, bed comfortable, everything is perfect 👌. Congratulations 🎊🍾🎈 to all, you all make us feel home and VIP. Thank you so much. We cannot wait to come back.
Here is a quality hotel that has SUPERIOR service and prices that are reasonable for Manhattan. A few years ago, I stumbled upon the Omni Berkshire Place through a discount coupon that my girlfriend received through her business. That first stay was amazing. She had stayed at a lot of different hotels in Manhattan for business and I came in on weekends to stay with her. Those other hotels (some right in Times Square) were pretty awful and worse, trying to sleep in those other places was virtually impossible because of the noise. NOT so at the Omni. The room was quiet. Couldnt even hear the street below. It was a great night sleep.Ive been back to the Omni 12 times since that first visit, and each time has been superior. This is truly a gem in Manhattan.
Excellent hotel in a great location in Manhattan. Rooms are large (by NYC standards) and very good value. Staff were also extremely friendly. The only slight negative for me is that there are no coffee making facilities in the room (at least in the deluxe rooms). Not a huge deal as there are plenty of cafes within a couple of blocks.
The staff at the Omni made this trip to NYC so much better then we could ever have imagined or pulled off ourselves. From beautiful and historic accommodations, to personal dinner recommendations and reservations made by staff, sound advice for navigating our trip to unexpected midnight desserts arriving at the door with a handwritten note from staff, this hotelexceeded all expectations. I would recommend this hotel to anyone passing through the city.
We went to New York for a mother-daughter weekend and had a wonderful time. The hotel staff was friendly and cheerful. The person at the front desk when we checked it (his name started with K) helped us get the best room available. Sergio and Abu in the bar/restaurant were attentive and kind and helped start the weekend off with style. The drinks at the bar were delicious as well as the appetizer we had. The entire staff was friendly and helpful the whole weekend. We will definitely go back.
Excellent overall experience with a great location in Manhattan. Also, we joined to the Select guest members and they offered us 2 beverages and wi-fi at no cost per day. Rooms including their bathrooms are very clean and they have ample space to move around. Definitively, a high quality hotel to stay again.
I am a frequent traveller, all I really expect is that the towels and sheets are clean and there is no hair. This place was ok really friendly staff and clean enough. Our toilet clogged and would not flush properly though, and had unwashed cups in the washroom. The bathroom walls were dirty too looks like they hadnt been wiped down in a while. Location was really good and we were able to walk to central park, times square, chicken and rice, empire state building all that stuff.
Just finished a 5-night stay at the Omni Bershire and enjoyed it from the minute I arrived and was sorry to leave! The front door staff was incredibly pleasant and helpful. From a friendly tip on which direction to go to catch the subway to help at departure with a vehicle, their smiling faces were a very pleasant part of my stay. The concierge personnel (located right across from the elevator) remembered me and were so pleasant. Front desk, very helpful and professional. Above all, a great experience with folks focused on providing an exceptional level of customer service. The room had a great view, was spacious and was a haven in the city. The 17th floor patio was a perk at the end of a long day. Chilled lemon water at the elevator was a welcome spa-like feature. Will book again!
Nice hotel, let down by poor organisation and communication. So me and my partner stayed here from the 26th to the 30th Dec 2019.Her birthday was on the 27th so was a special trip, I had communicated with the hotel for maybe doing something like balloons etc, and they were more than happy to do this. We arrived to abit of a frosty response on reception, rushed check in, wasnt told where the room was so we checked with the concierge. Arrived in the room and there was no decorations or anything. I went back to reception with my email from them and they apologised and sent up a champagne, they also said to let them know the following morning when we go out as her birthday was that day, so I did this and again came back that evening to no decorations or anything.Back to reception I went and they ended up giving me $100 dollar credit to the room for food and drink, which I took. I might add that we used the credit for breakfast which was overpriced. American breakfast and a eggs benedict and tea, and that was the $100 gone. Be careful on the tip scam on the reciept as service charge is included, but there is also another line to enter a tip... Cheeky. The other issue I had was the resort fee, I gave my credit card to them as thats the rules, but told them I wanted to settle the fees in cash on check out, to which they said no problem, nothing will be taken... So I paid the resort fee in cash, asked again about the card and they said again, nothing will be taken. Only to get home and they had taken $117 from my card! Which I might add took me over my limit.Im now waiting 7 days for it to come back which is ridiculous. As for the room, it was clean and nice.Kept clean by the house maids, although I might add, they chucked away my partners birthday cards, which really is not acceptable. All in all a frustrating stay which I think could of been made better, the hotel is in a pretty good location, around 20 minutes or so to times square.
This is the very best hotel to stay in if you are planning a trip to New York! From start to finish, you will love the experience. Krystle is the very best Loyalty Manager, Mary is the most knowledgeable and helpful concierge, and Tseng at the front desk is so friendly and accommodating. This was our second time to stay here and we will very definitely be back! During our first stay at the Berkshire, we realized we were situated just a block from the St. Patrick’s Day Parade. That was fun! St. Patrick’s Cathedral, Rockefeller Center, and 5th Ave. are all just around the corner. The Theater District and Times Square are an easy walk. This weekend we saw 3 plays in a day and a half and it was a breeze getting to the theaters. You would never know you are in New York in terms of street noise when you are at the Berkshire. It is so quiet and it makes sleeping so easy. What truly makes this immaculately clean hotel so wonderful is the staff! Everyone is so friendly, from doorman to desk. I am sure the warm and welcoming climate did not just happen by chance. Kudos to the management!
We were there for a few days for my husband’s job. The hotel is in a great location! We walked to Rockefeller Center, Central Park, Times Square, and St Patrick’s Cathedral and took a quick cab ride to Soho and The Village. The service at Omni was excellent- prompt and friendly room service, housekeeping, front desk, and Bell Services. Our room was clean, had a beautiful view of Madison Ave.- especially at dusk, and had one of the most comfortable hotel beds I’ve ever slept in (I seriously did not want to get off the bed when we’d stop back at the hotel to relax/refresh before going back out for the evening.) We would definitely book Omni Berkshire on a return visit! Thank you, Omni staff & concierge services, for helping make our business trip/mini-vacation so wonderful!
The steakhouse restaurant inside the hotel had an excellent ambience for a classy meal. We had brunch in a private room in the back of the restaurant and all 30 guests seemed to enjoy the food from the prefixed menu and the delicious array of cakes brought out for dessert. The very classy and professional service staff made sure every cup was always filled with water, coffee, tea, juice, or whatever beverage was being had, and I was very impressed with their overall attentiveness to detail and professionalism. My only gripe is that my steak which was supposed to be medium rare came out as well done. When I sent it back, another steak was brought out which was half the size and still well done (or barely medium, if at all). I expect better from a steakhouse.
We have just returned today from the Omni Berkshire and were certainly not disappointed. Staff is good and some have been there for years -so good consistency. We have traveled to NYC a fair bit and were very pleased with the size of the hotel room and we had a fantastic view down Madison Ave.
Old World Charm without New World Amenities - like Heat! Unfortunately, we had the pleasure of staying at the Omni for New Years weekend sat one of the coldest times of this Winter and experienced a room without heat. We stayed in the room the first night with the heat on 80° but it never exceeded 61°! Management was kind enough to give us complementary breakfast the next morning. We spoke with management who said they would reissue the issue. After breakfast we went out for the day. Upon returning for the day, we were shocked to find a portable heater in our room! We looked at each other and were trying to decide if management wanted is to stay in the room with this heater since the room was a bargain at $769 pet night. That wasnt happening. We called spoke with another manager who explained the heater was temporary until another room was ready. We subsequently moved to another room at 6pm New Years night. Although it was nice to have a heated room, I personally think the room for the first night should have been totally compose compd. My next trip will be at another NY hotel. My company use to hold meetings at the Omni and I assumed this would be a great experience with it family - I dislike being wrong!
Its a nice hotel. However, they need to work on their billing policies. We paid $950 for two nights stay for two rooms and still got charged an Amenity Charge. They did not explain what it was for, despite our insistence and the fact that we didnt use anything beyond the normal appliances provided as part of the room. This is ridiculous and definitely not what Im accustomed to from hotels in this price range.
The room was clean and well look after by cleaning staff, one bellman was very helpful and friendly that works late evenings. All other staff rude and unfriendly. Dont expect any customer service or warm welcome during your stay. There is a cafe across the street but you will get creeped on (I couldnt go back my whole stay as I got creeped on so badly), there are a couple of breakfast options 5 minutes walk but I found it an awkward location for dining. You have to request a mini fridge as they are not in each roomConcierge is rude and unhelpful, so avoidTraffic is really loud, you will hear cars honking repeatedly all night as the windows arent soundproof and its its on a busy roadAll in all it was fine but overpriced for the experience and I wouldnt recommend it.
They messed up our request for a roll away bed and the problem persisted into the next late afternoon with a 17-year-old not having a place to sleep the first full day of our stay! The hotel is nice and the rooms are very clean, though. This was our second stay but we will probably search out a different hotel next time.
Overall, our stay at the Omni Berkshire Place was wonderful! It was our quiet, clean oasis with accommodating front desk personnel and knowledgeable and friendly concierge staff in a great centrally located place in midtown Manhattan. Be sure to check out the roof top lounge accessed from the 17th floor for outdoor seating and a sky view of the city. The total out the door cost was a bit high, however, which is why it did not get my 5 star rating.
Fantastic location close to Central Park, Times Square, Rockefeller Center and not too tough of a walk to Empire State Building. We had a great experience here from check-in through check-out. The folks who work the doors are awesome and always had great recommendations and made you feel like a priority. Shout out to Lenny specifically. I also had some post check-out issues that were handled timely and politely by Mr. Beltran which I appreciate on so many levels.Omni Berkshire takes care of you from start to finish and even after if need be. We will be back.
This hotel is a gem and so close to everything I want to do when in NYC! From the doormen upon arrival to the front desk staff at departure every detail of the Omni Berkshire experience is stellar. The Select Guest program is among the best in the field. I have stayed at this property at least 20 times and have never been disappointed. It is an oasis just steps from the kinetic pace of 5th Avenue.
The room was nice, a little small but it is New York. No amenities really, but the location is great. The hotel is pricey and they charge for everything. What I dont like is that they wanted to charge an extra $45 for a roll away bed, PER NIGHT!! The concierge (male) that I asked for the roll away bed didnt even seem to care that the charge bothered me. He was very dismissive about it. Room service was also a bit of a challenge because they were slow (ordered coffee and orange juice) in New York time is money. Ive stayed in many hotels and resorts, some nicer than the Omni, none of them have ever charged for something as simple as a roll away. Its a shame that something like that will keep me from staying here again. Being in the travel industry, I give clients many recommendations on where to stay, one being the Omni in San Diego. I wouldnt feel comfortable referring my clients to this Omni though. What a bummer :(
I am about to start my 4th stay at the hotel. I travel for a living and I have never stayed at an Omni until September and this location. I am hooked, from the staff to the room to housekeeping. This hotel is a treasure and I am delighted I found it. Oh and shout out to the door team - wow so kind and thoughtful!
I stay here several times a year on work trips, and it is consistently quite good. Im not a demanding traveler. I just want a clean, comfortable, quiet hotel room with no hassles. The Omni Berkshire delivers every single time. The room service pizzas arent the greatest Ive ever had, but plenty of other items on the menu are good. If you have a weakness for min-bar chocolate, watch out. The rooms are always well stocked with chocolate.
I always enjoy staying at Omni properties. I was totally spoiled by the staff but the beds werent as comfortable as Im used to and the rooms need just a little updating. Other then that I was very pleased. The staff was very attentive. I was very pleased with the service I received there.
This service and amenities at the Omni Berkshire were impeccable. my family and I were treated like royalty something I did not expect.icon shears and loyalty ambassador went out of their way to make my familys trip to Manhattan a special and memorable one. The rooms were new and updated and the hotel was very clean. Another great thing about the Omni is that its centrally located near Rockefeller, 5th Ave Shops, Radio City, Times Square and the Broadway theaters.
Pleasantly surprised by their service. Cleanness. Convenient location.Front desk staffs are all professional and friendly. Yumi was the best.I even signed up for loyal membership.Only one star away from five for doorman and bell man service was not good. Car drop off area is confusing. Doorman and bellman are not as professional.
This was an amazing hotel that we got a great price via our platinum Amex card. It was in a great central location walking distance to everything. I came to college tour with my daughter and we were close to everything and was given such great service regarding direction and how to get to NYU/Columbia/and even UPenn. So many amazing places to visit and eat so close to this hotel not to mention awesome shopping. Thanks Omni-great trip for me and my girls. I appreciate the immense hospitality of your staff.
Top notch service all the way. They hosted our business event there this month and the entire staff was so kind, flexible and accommodating. The fare at Bobs Chop House was amazing as well. Loved my suite! Would definitely return for pleasure the next time Im in NYC.
My daughter and I stayed at the Omni Berkshire June 11-15. Fabulous hotel, but even more fabulous was the entire staff, from the front desk, to the bellmen/doormen, housekeeping, and concierge. Never have we experienced such fantastic service. Our room was always beautiful when we came back from a long day out (thank you Elizabeth!). Another special shout out to the concierge staff, they were so helpful with directions, dinner reservations, subways, and just about everything else; any question we had they went over and above to help us out. This was my daughters first trip to NYC and the Omni Berkshire and its staff made it that much more memorable. We are already planning another mother-daughter trip back to NYC, and the Omni Berkshire will be, without a doubt the place well call home while were there.
My husband and I had a great experience while staying at the Omni Berkshire in NYC. The hotel is beautiful and the service we received was over the top fantastic. Everyone including Jun and Cindy Fong, Loyalty Ambassador made sure all of our needs were met. I highly recommend this hotel!
Weve been staying at the Omni Berkshire Place for years. I sometimes work in NYC and the hotel is in a convenient location relative to my office, but its also in a good location for shopping, restaurants, walking to Times Square, Broadway, Central Park, etc. The rooms are always clean, with nice furnishings - very comfortable. The staff is simply great, and always has been. About 5 years ago I used to know all the front desk staff because I stayed there quite often, and they treated me really great. Well, even now, without knowing anyone personally, I still received the same treatment. One piece of advice, join their loyalty program - between the free WiFi, complimentary morning beverages and the ability to pre-request certain room types/locations, it makes your stay that much more enjoyable. I highly recommend this hotel for a stay in NYC.
Best Santa ever! My son is 9 and hes teetering. Meeting Santa Claus in the lobby on Saturday and again on Sunday (and seeing his car in the street out front with its custom license plates!!) truly made it a magical weekend. He remembers our house! He has a wooden pocket watch made by his elves! His suits and hats are fantastic!Best Santa Ive ever met.Hotel was good too. Convenient to the park and all the tourist-y Christmas stuff.
Great location if you need to be in midtown. Close to, but completely out of earshot from the madness so youre guaranteed a good nights sleep in a comfy bed; though be sure to ask for a top sheet when you arrive as somewhat bizarrely I was told theyre only provided on request. Blue Bottle coffee right next door makes up for the missing coffee makers in the room. La Grenouille and Fig&Olive are also solid brunch and dinner options 20 steps away. Friendly hotel staff, good gym, large (for NY) clean rooms
Central location excellent position for all main sights, within walking distance of ***y. Hotel is close to a couple subway stops. Ideal for families who want a midtown base, close to the sights but not too noisy. Would definitely go back to this hotel on our next trip.
Lovely, classy hotel. Overall, a great experience!Yes, some parts feel dated, specifically the wood surfaces throughout the building and the leather in our dresser have a well used look. When we went to take a shower, there was a long black hair on the wall. I mentioned and housekeeping came in a remedied quickly. A toilet in the lobby doesnt flush. Our tub didnt drain exactly right, but the slope of the bath tub made it manageable. The staff said they will address. A LOT of good feedback: all of the staff was very caring, and accessible. The food is very, very expensive from the hotel but we learned that Isadoras Cafe just out front is a jewel of a cafe for really inexpensive home cooked dishes. And they deliver, you just have to tip the delivery personnel. The bed was a bit firm for my husband but comfy for me. I loved the plush bathrobes provided for our use. I also loved the good strong water pressure! How unusual to find a great strong shower. There was no coffee maker in the room but they brought us one at our request. Wolgang Puck coffee came with. Views were of office buildings across the way. We were close to trains and buses but enjoyed mostly Ubering and walking to close by shops and Central Park.
Fabulous location, nice size rooms, impeccable upkeep, and a good value for what felt like an upscale hotel. And we mostly appreciated the amenities and just how darn nice and friendly everyone was, especially for a New York City hotel. Highly recommend , I’ve stayed in many NYC hotels, most did not leave a lasting impression - this one will be a “go to” choice for my next city visit.
I was not the one who made the reservation so I didnt know what to expect but when you have three people checking in and there is only one towel in the bathroom doesnt sound like they are on top of the game .... No amenities no fridge no microwave ... But the atmosphere was very friendly.
Not a great place to stay in the winter. Prior to guest arrival, they heat their rooms to 85 degrees and there is no way to cool them because they turn off the A/C and the windows dont open more than a crack. Otherwise, its a nice hotel and a great place to stay in the summer.
This hotel is in a great location. Everyone was very accommodating. I mentioned to the concierge that we had to leave at 445 and we would need to get a cab. When we came down stairs that morning the front door man had one waiting for us. When we visit NYC again we will definitely consider staying here.
Horribly disappointing. I selected the deluxe King room with city view. the room was small, one of the lamp shades was held together with clear tape, no microwave, no refrigerator, my city view was of scaffolding. The best part was the shower which was very strong. The employees were all very nice though I will not be staying here again.
The best hotel you can find near at all the fashion stores in NY. The hotel offer 4 star quality, services is on 8 in scale of 1 to 10. The steak house restaurant is a very good place to have a nice dinner or a drink at the bar. The rooms are very cozy, no bad comment or incident on my stay.
The bellmen were amazing, also the concierges. Room was very clean and spacious. However, we booked thru Booking. com and there was no mention of a $175 pet fee. Front desk claims that Booking knows that there is a fee and that we need to take it up with them! Also there is no area for the dog to do her thing, other than the Median in the middle of Park Avenue!! Poor dog was totally freaked out by the traffic! My first trip to NYC and the last. In response to Omnis reply - Booking. com does mention $75 pet fee. Omni charged us $175! Why would we need to visit additional web sites?
Great rooms, super clean and spacious. Close to everything. Amazing service, especially Lenny the Door Man. Every morning he greeted us with a smile and helpful suggestions for places to eat and sites we might enjoy. I was very happy with my stay at the Omni and will stay there again.
Great midtown location. We had booked a premier executive king-size and we had asked for a high floor. We were on the 18th floor the room was extremely spacious with a nice view not directly on the street so quiet for new York. Bathroom is very nice with robes and toiletries. We will stay again
Bell staff was amazing, was recognized on street by one of bell staff while walking in city, he was in street clothes on his own time. The room was a shoebox with what felt like concrete beds with pillow from 1800s . Was delayed over an hour checking in, Cross Omni hotels off my list. This was supposed to be our dream vacation turned into a nightmare
So an exec room should have robes and slippers, had to ask for both. When the robe arrived it did not feel fresh. Bottled water and toiletries not replaced when used. Hallway smelled. Curtains did not meet and let daylight in.Concierge does not make eye contact depsite being opposite guest elevator.Front desk staff do not ask of you have visited before or if you know area. No mention of hotel amenities on check in.On check out was not asked if all was ok with our stay.Location good for 5th Ave and Central Park. Close to 5th/53rd.station. rooms large for NY. Lots of scaffolding and hoarding around hotel so do not go by exterior photos on hotel web site.Would I stay again - no. Lots more hotels in Manhattan for the price range that would live up to 4.5 star rating
I stayed just one night. Apart from the convenient location, check in was handled efficiently, my room was spotless and in great condition and checkout was a simple tap on my phone. I travel often for business and while based on a single short stay, this hotel is near the top of the list. Will try it again.
You know what? For being a stones throw from Times Square, Central Park, etc it’s pretty damn good value for money. Rooms are large and spacious for New York. It’s getting a little bit tired looking and website pictures a little misleading but the staff are fantastic and helpful, rooms clean with big bathrooms and most importantly a powerful shower!!Well worth a stay and visit to the restaurant.
A hotel group I like using around the world, but NYC premises is not the best they have to offer. Location is good, price is comparable to others of a similar rating but I think better quality for similar or less cash is available. Staff are friendly, rooms are nice & very clean. I will still use Omni in other cities, but not NYC in future.
Great hotel with very nice rooms. My only complaint would be that I tried 3 different floors and the ice rooms were locked on all of them. I finally gave up and went down to the front desk and asked about how to get ice, their o my response of thats weird, try the other floors. Not about to go to every single floor looking for damn ice, so I went to the bar and the bartender happily filled my ice bucket for me!
Beautiful hotel but staff doesn’t keep to it’s promises. Was told I could check in around 10-11 and got there at 7 told them I was here and ready whenever a room is ready, never heard from them, went and waited in the lobby until 1 o’clock and finally after getting a manager involved were they able to check me in. Excellent location in safe area.
Great location, spacious suite, pet friendly. The staff was warm and friendly with the exception of the front desk associate at check in who was cold, curt, unhelpful and really set a dour tone over the entire experience. We also never received the kids club package touted on the website. There are so many other choices in the city, we know now that this is not going to be one for us in the future.
Excellent staff at this hotel. I hope they are paid well. We arrived and unfortunately the room we were given was not cleaned - trundled wearily downstairs to inform reception and they immediately upgraded us to a larger room. The only thing I would say is about WiFi - for a European used to free WiFi the arrangement was weird. And we only discovered WiFi in the foyer on our last day.We loved NYC and this hotel was perfect for our reason for visiting this time -to see Children of a Lesser God at Studio 54.The excellent staff would be the reason we would stay at the Omni Berkshire again. (Otherwise we would stay in Brooklyn or Bowery)
The Omni Berkshire will never disappoint!!! The location is fabulous. The staff is amazing! The hotel and the rooms are fresh, plesant and comfortable. There are a million place to stay while in NYC. Once you stay at the Omni Berkshire, you will find that it is the only place to stay.
This is a hotel that is what we like. Its not some modern, bare necessities hotel, it has a large room, large bathroom, plenty of drawers and a usable closet. Although it is old, it is up to date and very comfortable. The staff, concierge, and reception are very nice.We go to New York every year for our anniversary and my wifes birthday. They sent cake and Moet Chandon Champagne to the room. We joined their select guest program and received complementary coffee and juice delivered to our door as well as free Wi-Fi, free bottled water, free pressing and shoe shine. I said that this is what we like because its what a hotel is supposed to be.
We booked this hotel through JetBlue Vacations and chose it for its location in Midtown. Right at 52nd St between 5th Ave and Madison, you cant go wrong! Everyone we encountered at the hotel was great. Very friendly and personable. As we were leaving and sharing that we were returning to LA, everyone gave us their condolences over the Dodgers loss to Boston in the World Series (they could definitely feel our pain). The only reason for the reduced star is that for the price we expected a fancier room. I was travelling with my wife and daughter so we had to go with the 2 beds and they were very small. No room coffee maker was also a surprise for a high rated hotel. Other than that, the location and the staff definitely make this hotel a recommended choice for your stay in NYC.
Very dissatisfying experience. The staff I had contact with was beyond rude.I was accused of smoking and will be charged a cleaning fee. I DO NOT SMOKE!!!They proceed to say the whole floor smells and have to deploy Ionizers to clean the air.I HAVE NEVER EXPERIENCED SUCH A MISTREATMENT OF A CUSTOMER.I feel sorry for non New Yorkers having to stay here.STAY SOMEWHERE ELSE! I DO NOT RECOMMEND.PS. TVs are outdated, Remote wouldnt let me change channels.
The Perfect location 52nd and Madison Ave. Across the street are restaurants and a hairdresser which was suggested by the front desk staff and found to be great -especially when I had a wedding and didnt want to grab a cab and waste time. The room was decent enough. We would definitely stay at the Omni again on our next trip to NYC.
A very conveniently located hotel, just off 5th Avenue and only a few blocks from Central Park. There are subway stations and a number of nice cafes all within walking distance. The Omni staff are all friendly, we had zero hassles. A couple of things to note, there is no free wifi in the rooms, nor was there there a mini fridge in the room we stayed in. Both you would think should be included for the price youre paying.I would recommend staying here as its a quite, clean and comfortable room.
We loved our stay at the Omni Berkshire Place hotel in NYC. The location was excellent, approximately 6 blocks from Central Park and the Broadway Theater district and a couple more to Time Square. The entire staff was 1st class. Oh yey, our birthday dinner at Bobs Steak and Chop House was fantastic and highly recommended.
Pleasent stay at a hotel with an enviable location. We arrived in NYC at 9am and our room was ready at 10am. We were on a baby-moon and appreciated the wonderful hospitality. The location was great, but unfortunately thats all the good I can say about this particular location.
Clean hotel, friendly staff all the way around. Room was on the smaller side, obviously no fridge/microwave/mini bar would have been nice. $15/day for wi-fi..really? In this day and age WiFi is not a commodity, it should be a common place fixture. Part of staying at a premium hotel for me was the expectation I would not be nickel and dimed. Even though I am part of the loyalty program, one should not have to sign up to get “free WiFi” I feel revenue could be generated in other ways.
I just have to say I did not stay here and due to the horrible customer service I NEVER will. I booked the Omni and unfortunately could not make my reservation due to hospitalization. The hotel would not refund my money OR let me move the date with MORE then 1 week notice. I am so disappointed that people could be so unkind due to unforeseen circumstances. It’s businesses like these that do not deserve anyone’s money.
I usually dont sleep very well in NYC, but I lucked out here. Room was big by NYC standards. Room was quite for NY and I got a good nights rest. The location is really great. Hope this will help anyone going on a budget, shame all the iconic yellow cabs have been replace with little Toyotas.
I will start with the few positives about this location.... there is a robe in the room, the location is great and bobs steak house is inside the hotel. I wanted to try a different hotel during my business trip and thought I would try out the Omni, I was left with disappointment and will spend my $s at another property. Since I have stayed at Omni locations before, this was disappointing. When arriving to the hotel, even though the front desk was somewhat friendly, he wasnt up to par with other hotels I have stayed at in the city. Didnt really great me or welcome me to the property. I had to wander around to find the elevator and there is no market in the hotel lobby in case you need a snack or forgot something. My first room I walked in to an overwhelming smoke smell, they were able to give me another room but it was right next to the ice machine which I lucked out no one used during my stay. the room is super tiny even for nyc standards = overpriced. the bed was very uncomfortable and the pillows sucked!!! I would think they could invest just a bit into decent pillows. I had to use several to just get a comfortable cushion of which my neck is paying for it now. They were nice enough to bring a blanket up to me and a new remote bc mine didnt work in the room. Many of the channels were fuzzy and didnt really work so ended up watching my slow internet speed computer. the gym is ok, bit crowded but it has new equipment and even a trx setup - about the only positive and nice workout towels. Each time I tried to find the bell guy upon my checkout, I had to hunt him down, he was friendly but just seemed distracted and always away. the desk didnt offer any solutions for the best way to get to the airport with the snow storm, I ended up finding out from a friend that the E train was a block away from the hotel which gave me a smooth and easy ride to the airport instead of a lengthy stressful cab ride.Just really disappointed in my stay and the lack of enthusiasm with the staff, room quality and price/value. I would look into other hotels rather than this location.
Amazing. When I booked my hotel and I was asked the reason for my stay, I mentioned my wedding anniverasary and thought nothing of it.We were greated with a wonderful surprise and gesture that I won’t forget. Thank you Cindy and all the others who made my stay memorable. We’ll be back.
This place was great and I will definitely be staying there again soon. Friendly staff, great accommodations, HBO. Big bathrooms, decent views from big windows, quiet, has a bar and steak restaurant attached. Great location for upscale shopping and sightseeing. Great value!
We booked through JetBlue and I gotta admit, I was not disappointed. Kendric checked is in and he was super accommodating and friendly. The room we stayed in overlooked 52nd street so we had the perfect view. House keeping did a wonderful job an super attentive. The doorman was super friendly and has the same energy throughout the entire day.Thank you Omni for the stay.
Excellent location just off 5th Avenue between the Rockerfeller Centre and Central Park. Room service from Bobs Chop House (sounded like it was fairly recently opened) was very fast and efficient. The steakhouse downstairs connected to the hotel has great servers but the steak does not compare at similar prices to Del Friscos etc in NYC. Great value at this hotel.
Nice hotel, with a few disappointments. You have to be part of the rewards to get the free WiFi, but they still put it on our charges and we had to get it removed. We also got complimentary beverages each morning. Occasionally they would mess it up. Sometimes we got a paper, sometimes we didnt. Guests next door would smoke nightly. Complaints werent really addressed but we got a free breakfast voucher as we were on our way out. That was a lame attempt of appeasing us. And it turned into a whole thing because the restaurant said we couldnt get it to go. Got that addressed and had to chew down in the lobby waiting for our ride. Maid staff and doormen were great though. Might stay at this place again, just disappointed at the lack of concern for smoking in a non-smoking hotel and for the money we paid to stay here we get a free breakfast for that trouble. It permeated the wall and lingered for hours. A maid was even using an ozone machine to get the smell out of the smokers room.
Ive stayed at several Omni Hotels in the past, and I am a Select Guest member. This particular Omni really needs a lot of improvement. It is the only Omni where the staff is inattentive, indifferent and almost rude. Very disappointed for the first time with a stay at an Omni property. I do not recommend the Berkshire Place Omni, sad to say
The Omni Berkshire is the go-to place to stay in NYC. Service is promp, efficient and courteous. The location is very convenient. Great shopping, subway access, and easy walk to the theatre district. The room is comfortable and quiet. The adjacent steak house is a convenient option as well as the deli just across the street.
The hotel was everything as described. However, the service was poor. We were not able to check in as planned due to late check outs. NO1 communicated that valuable info until we arrived to check in.....FROM OUT OF STATE cold and tired with my 5y/o and 10 y/o and were offered to put our bags in holding and we would get a text when our room is available. So we decided to change up our itenerary (really had no choice- or to camp out n the lobby or go to the restaurant) WELP, that text never came... We got tired of waiting so after 2 hours we head back in FINALLY a room for which we booked 🤗 SO -1 star for not having our room ready, no communication ((thats key)) -1star for LYING and not notifying when the room was ready MEANY

2022-06-23Dont forget to use ʜoᴛᴇʟʙoʟʟʏ.ᴄᴏm when booking a place. This website will compare countless hotel sites and usually will have prices much cheaper than others! Youre welcome :)! This hotel is one of the highest rated in the area. Ive been coming here for a very long time. If you choose this place you wont be let down. The staff here is fantastic! Everyone is very nice and welcoming. The rooms are also very clean and comfortable. Bathrooms are on the older side but very clean and very well maintained! We will be back!We would’ve given it 4 stars because we paid extra for a specific room and it wasn’t exactly as described. We will sort this out at a later time but a place where we’d definitely stay again. 5 stars as Lenny (doorman) is always smiling and welcoming folks!

2022-02-15Spent the Valentine weekend here and found the staff to be friendly and accommodating. I cannot say enough about Lenny the doorman. He was amazing and gets 5 stars!! Mary the concierge also stood out as a rock star. Friendly and sweet. My only constructive comment is the toilet water pressure isn’t great but typical of stately old NYC hotels. Bravo Berkshire!!

2022-05-26Such a beautiful hotel, with a chill, relaxed, understanding, yet professional staff. The suite was large and the balcony just as large. Was definitely worth the price and the roar of construction outside in front of the building. Will definitely be staying again in the near future.

2022-02-25We are thrilled to be able to stay at our home away from home again. The hotel and city are less busy due to the pandemic but still greatly accomdated. We are glad that many of the old staff were called back. Its nice to be welcomed by a friendly staff that remembers your name. Highest recommendation

2022-02-04The hotel lobby is really nice and had amazing decoration for Christmas. The concierge service were a great source of knowledge on how to navigate the sub way so that was great to. We went to bobs bar for a few drinks and the bartender Sonny K was first class and was also a great source of info about the city he was the best bartender in New York

2022-03-31The Google reviews live up to the hype of the Omni. So happy that we stayed here. The location is perfect; Central to walking around to all major attractions, shopping, and subways. All the staff is kind and considerate; we were even helped by off duty staff on the street as we tried to get our bearings. What type of review would this be if I didn’t mention Lenny; what a dream, what a delight. This will be our permanent location whenever we are in Manhattan.

2022-06-08Positive: The location is great, staff were so kind and understanding of our flight delays and cancellations. They did everything they could to help us get around the city and gave us advice on scheduling activities in town! Negative: This hotel was amazing! We have no complaints.

2022-05-20I had a very pleasant stay at this hotel a couple of days ago. The hospitality was wonderful thanks to Gissel and the front desk staff. The rooms & bathroom are really nice. Highly recommend for anyone traveling to the city.

2022-06-26This place is closer to all tourist locations. Cleaned every day. Barring that nothing good. I was treated differently on a Juneteenth day and when I called it out the director was rude and said sorry that I was upset sounded like a very insincere apology. The wifi was non existent especially at night when they assumed guests slept so probably took wifi out. Also, we were three females in a room that had a common door shared with another room and it did not lock. I checked another floor (by mistake long story due to the issue of discrimination) and it was locked. I called out that too and the director did not care probably because I did not sound white enough. I will not be staying here ever and wont recommend this hotel to anyone. The first two stars are explained for location and cleanliness third star is for the doormen. Lovely fellows who made our day with their big smile and made the stay extremely bearable with the horrible emotional experience. So, again not recommending and please avoid. I dont think leadership cares if they do the director needs counseling on how to treat emotionally hurt people and a big lesson on communication.
