Couldn’t be happier with my decision to reach out to Mike for my 8 month old puppy. Mike is very knowledgeable, professional, patient, an excellent teacher, and a dog whisperer! Before training with Mike, I dreaded walks with my pup. Mike has completely transformed that feeling and I now look forward to long walks. He was extremely helpful with teaching me how to eliminate unwanted behaviors and refine important obedient commands. Mike was sure to train me as the owner and not just my dog which is very important. If you’re looking for a trainer, Mike is your guy!
One Companion has given us the tools to teach our dog any positive behavior we want. After adopting a puppy in May, our sweet little girl started testing the limits. In 4 short sessions, Mike showed us how to channel her energy into the positive behaviors we want her to exhibit. Mikes knowledge, patience, and creativity were perfect for our dog. Mike is an incredible trainer. He is very thorough and not only does the work to train the dogs behavior, but the owners behavior as well. Mike is hands on and genuinely knows what he is doing. I cant thank Mike and his training methods enough. As a new puppy owner, we didnt know much about our dogs behavior and how to approach training him. We tried the local PetSmart but didnt see great results from the training there. So we reached out to One Companion and had Mike come work with our puppy. After only 3 sessions Mike already had our Bruno following commands not only from us but also from our kids. We are looking forward to training more with Mike and seeing how much more Bruno can learn. We received Mike’s name from a friend who had been very pleased with his services. Brooks is a rescue dog who was proving to be a bit more difficult to train than our goldens, so we thought we needed some hands on one-to-one training. We are so pleased that we found Mike! First of all, he is so professional and responsible, available for quick questions even if it’s not a formal training day. As for the training itself, as most people know, the key to training a dog well is to properly train the owners to train the dog. Mike’s guidance to us was detailed, clear, and simple. As a result, we started seeing positive changes in Brooks instantly, and he has done better and better as the weeks went on. Mike doesn’t sit staring at his watch, so we never felt rushed and always felt like we were Mike’s only customer of the day. Lastly, Mike is flexible, so if he showed up and we said we had something we need to work on, he was ready to go and it was like he had planned it all along. We can’t recommend Mike enough.
I am so happy we found One Companion Dog Training as our young puppy was giving my wife and I so much trouble. Michael did wonders for my 7mo old Shih Tzu. We were pleasantly surprised in how well the training sessions went and how our puppy responded and continues to respond. I cannot recommend highly enough.
Mike at OCDT really delivers what he promises - that once you work with him you will never need a dog trainer again. My 4 month old puppy is now a well trained obedient, happy girl all because of Mike. We mastered sit, down, stay, come, off, walking, place, leave it, drop it, and many many more in just 5 sessions!!!! He is incredible to work with - his professionalism, his expertise, and his passion for helping train your dog is truly remarkable. I will never go any where else. Even when my pup is having an off day, you are able to text him and he is the type to drop everything and FaceTime me to assess the problem - he really cares and assess the human and the dog, which is awesome. We have a French Mastiff named Ferris and boy is he big!! We knew we needed to train him and Michael was the right person for the job! Five sessions later, our 9 y/o and almost 8 y/o know the commands and how to communicate with Ferris. Walks are easier as well! Very glad we called One Companion.... highly recommend!!
Mike is a super nice guy and breaks the learning process down to an easy to follow formula. Really knows his stuff and immediately was getting results out of our pup.He also was very responsive and met with us on short notice when we were having some obedience issues with our little guy.Would recommend to anyone!
Honestly I cant thank Mike enough. He takes the time to not only show you all the training tips and commands, but he explains the behavior and the reason why dogs respond to the commands and exercises. Our dog kona was impossible to go on walks with but now we look forward to going on a daily walk with him. Thank you again for all the help!
Mike was recommended by my cousin and by a neighbor for dog training when we got our puppy, Bailey. Mike comes to you, which is convenient. He is patient, great with dogs, and great at explaining what you, the dog parent, needs to do. He is always available to answer questions and give recommendations. I highly recommend him. My dog LOVED him.
After just one lesson with Mike it was not only evident how knowledgeable he was in dog training, but how well spoken he was in his delivery of the information so that it was easily comprehended and understood by us, as the dogs owners and trainer. Mike is clearly passionate about the well being of our pups, and has taken the time to fully understand why they may be reacting to situations or scenarios in a way that we dont understand. My 2 year old Border Collie is the love of our lives, but has been having reactivity issues while on walks to anyone (person or animal) that walks past us. In one lesson Mike broke down a few simple to understand, but key pointers and instructions on how we can handle the situation in the future. We really appreciated how Mike did not just give instructions on how to handle it, but he explained to us WHY this was happening, and WHY we should follow the next steps in order to handle. Mike made us fully confident in how to proceed in the future, and we are so thankful to have his expertise and guidance. After just one lesson we already have noticed a difference with our pup, and are confident that with continued work and patience that we will all be in a better place because of Mike. We can not recommend him enough! Thank you so much Mike!

2021-08-17I reached out to Mike from One Companion Dog Training when I first got my puppy. He was too young to start, but Mike was still responsive and sent me over some puppy tips to start basic commands and obedience before we began formal training. My puppy Monty started with him as soon as we could because I am pregnant and I wanted to have a trained dog before baby comes. Mike kept that in mind and personalized my dogs training based on knowing that I will have a baby in the house. So we did baby noises, walked with a shopping cart (when in Lowe’s) and basic commands like leave it, sit, stay, etc. he also changed the way Monty walks- he walks perfectly now without pulling. I am confident that my dog is well trained to be around a baby! Mike is also responsive via text when not with Monty if I had little questions here and there. My pup has grown so much and loved sessions with Mike. I highly recommend his services for your dog- no matter the age!

2022-08-19Michael Oliveri, from One Companion Dog Training, is the real deal; a master of his profession.He uses individualized techniques geared toward building a positive/comfortable/ respectful relationship between you and your dog.Thanks to Michael, my dog is calmer, more relaxed, eager to please and has a better understanding of his placement in the family. My Irish Setter puppy (IS puppies are known to be somewhat stubborn) was extremely receptive to Michael because of Michael’s calming/professional demeanor.I HIGHLY recommend One Companion; look no further.

2022-07-03Mike from One Companion went above and beyond for me and my dog Murray. I reached out to him before I even got murray and he guided me through the first steps I should take with training. We have done three sessions together and Murray is growing into a well-behaved, well-mannered dog. Mike was available at all times to call or text if I had a behavioral issue arise. He gave me all the tools I needed to help make Murray a wonderful companion. I recommend Mike to anyone who is getting a puppy or has a dog that needs training.

2022-04-03One companion dog training is the best. My husband and I worked with Mike who was super patient and sensitive to our concerns. My dog rumble became more confident throughout each session and so did we. Just remember consistency is the key. We definitely recommend one companion. Thanks for everything Mike.

2022-08-05Michael is an incredible trainer and someone I would recommend to anyone. He has made walking my dog an enjoyable experience knowing I’m in control. Truly priceless in my opinion. A lot of the focus is on helping the owner feel confident to apply the things he teaches, which is extremely valuable going forward.

2021-08-25Michael was recommended to us from a friend and we couldnt be happier. We rescued the sweetest dog during the pandemic but we needed help learning how to walk together and to refine some of her obedience skills. She was very skittish at first but Michael was so gentle and reassuring to her that she quickly learned to love his praise. She was not motivated by treats but by the love and affection her listening earned her. I would highly recommend Michael to anyone that needs help learning to live happily with their new friend.

2021-09-04We couldn’t be happier with our experience with Michael at One Companion Dog Training! We have a Vizsla puppy with lots of energy and we didn’t know the first thing about how to train him. So glad we found Michael — he is patient, professional and loves what he does. No session ever felt rushed— he was always glad to work on whatever we needed help with and trained us to train the dog! Now we feel more confident and our dog has definitely learned so much! After every session I was so happy to have learned so much ! I wouldn’t ask anyone else to train our pup— you’re in good hands with One Companion!
