I am so grateful Ive found Yogacare as my studio to practice yoga. Id been to different yoga studios in NYC and I can honestly say that Yogacare provides the space that I called home. Actually, its my second home. I practice here frequently. I used to work around the studio but my company recently moved to Midtown. I still come back to Yogacare because I love the community this studio provides. The owners and teachers are extremely friendly and knowledgeable. The studio is clean and bright. There are plenty of classes on the schedule through out the day, seven days a week. The best part is that this studio offers a transformational lifestyle program called the Full Circle a few times during the year. This program has transformed my life both mentally and physically. My health has gotten so much better because Ive learned not to let stress and negativity consume me. Ive become a better version of myself by incorporating the teachings from this program into my daily routines. I love my life now and Ive learned to love myself more. Thank you Uli and Candice for establishing Yogacare and bringing the Full Circle Program to NYC. So many lives will be transformed!
The feeling you get when you step into YogaCare and attend its classes is that it’s truly a community-focused family. The vibe, the staff, the teachers, the space, the students, and the practices will make you feel at home. Uli is just a unique and special teacher (and person!), and Candice is the mover behind the studio who is passionate about everything she does and who makes it a priority to establish real relationships with students. They’re the kind of people who will invite you into their homes. Such a warm and inviting space!
YogaCare has been life changing. I joined the Fall Full Circle program and began my Bikram practice. It has been an AMAZING journey!!! I am soooooo thankful for the YogaCare staff for their guidance and support. I’ve met so many beautiful people on this journey. I have a sense of peacefulness that I’ve been yearning for a long time.
They are beyond a yoga studio! This place and the people change your life and make you challenge yourself physically, emotionally and spiritually! After coming here for less than a month, I’ve not only seen changes but feel better throughout every facet of my life. The results are amazing and the team truly a family, there to welcome all, provide support and inspiration every step of the way. They have taught me gratitude, discipline and how to achieve a calmness I’ve never experienced at any other Pilates studio, gym, private training or other yoga classes.
I’m extremely grateful that I found Yogacare and the Full Circle Program. I had been traveling a lot for work and I was searching for something to help me get back into healthy habits. The program was amazing focusing not only in fitness but getting your mind in the right place as well with meditation and breathing classes. I’m also very thankful to the Yogacare family for their continuous support and encouragement !
I joined YogaCare as a member of the Full-Circle Program. At 53 years old, I had never done Yoga before, but I was determined to change my lifestyle. I had been diagnosed with a bunch of health problems including asthma and sleep apnea and I was looking for a sustainable way to improve my health and lose weight. The Full-Circle Program gave me exactly what I was looking for. In eight weeks, my health has dramatically improved, I lost a few inches, and I’ve reduced my stress levels. The program is challenging, but the environment is supportive, and no one is left behind. If you’re looking for a path to a permanent lifestyle change, this is the place for you.
I love their dedication to the online Yoga community and how they moved their platform online. Yoga teachers from all over - American, Kenyan, Mexican, Russian, Filipino, Ukrainian - bring their own unique flow so each class is different. Their YogaCare App makes signing up for a class so easy!
I’m so grateful that I found Yogacare, they are family! I was a first timer of Bikram yoga when I joined the Full Circle program last winter (Feb. 2017), which was truly LIFE CHANGING, making me a better version of myself! The entire staff and yogi’s are extremely supportive; they truly care about each student that walks into the studio, making it feel like home with open arms. I’ve made some wonderful, life long friends, I cannot imagine my life without the Bikram practice…Thank You Yogacare family!
Great studio in the heart of the financial district. If you’re looking for a classic 90 minutes Bikram class, please visit us. We keep it authentic and hot at Yoga Care! Dharma classes, breath work and meditation also available. Classes to suit any schedule along with inviting and personable staff.
Im writing two review for them - One about their Retreats and the other about their Full Circle Program.Retreat:Magical Tolan is an ecofriendly yoga & meditation retreat lodge, remotely located on a quiet, private beach front with sweeping ocean views and cooling breezes from every room. Designed to deeply reconnect you with the natural world and your human connection within it. Relax, Restore & Rejuvenate. There is a common dining space & a beautiful ocean side yoga cabana where all the retreat events are held.Satsanga refers to the act of sitting in the presence of a spiritual teacher, absorbing their energy and listening closely to their words. A true teacher helps you see beyond your everyday fears, grudges, and to-do lists, and invites you to experience a higher state of awareness, so its easier to rethink your priorities, contemplate the deeper meaning of life, and move forward on your spiritual path - The Retreats founder & teacher - Ulises Calatayud is eager to share with you the gifts of healthy living, spiritual wisdom, and the joys of practice. All of this, along with deliciously home cooked meals in a beautifully tropical setting, are just a few of the many things you will receive when you attend a retreat in Tolan. I gained all this and so much more. It was a powerful, amazing, life-changing experience. This retreat helped to solidify my newly learned practices and has made me want to dig even deeper. I cant wait to continue the journey and hope to return to Tolan for another retreat very soon. I highly recommend this experience to everyone. ~ Mar 18 Tolan Retreat attendee - Stephanie LackeyFull Circle Program:I travel a lot for work and that’s not good for trying to stay and eat healthy. I’m currently on a work contract here in NYC and I finally decided to do something about getting fit and healthy – but I didn’t want to go back into a gym – at least not yet. I wanted to try something different. YogaCare is 4 doors down from my apartment building. I passed by it for 5 months before I decided to look them up on the web because I felt starting out with Yoga might we be a great idea. Their sign said Go The Full Circle. Upon checking out their website to see what all they offered – there was a small blurb about The Full Circle and to e-mail to inquire. I did and that was the best decision I have made in years. I’m so grateful to have found YogaCare and the people who own it. They are amazing. The Full Circle Program has completely changed me and my life. It was exactly what I needed. I just completed the Winter 2018 Full Circle Program and ended up signing up for the Spring 2018 FC Program. I’ve lost 20 lbs so far and my body continues to change daily due to practicing Yoga several times a week. I’d never done Yoga before much less hot Yoga. Their Bikram teaching standards are some of the best around. The breathing and meditation classes are awesome too. I highly recommend this studio and I highly recommend that you inquire about the Full Circle Program – you won’t be disappointed. It has literally saved my life and the support and community I have gained in the process is truly a blessing….Stephanie
Very highly recommend. I went in on a referral from a friend having never done any type of yoga. Very clean and the staff was super friendly. I did the 90 minute Hot Yoga and while it certainly wasnt easy, I had a great time doing it and learned a ton of new stretches that I had no idea about. Our instructor Nacho, was super knowledgeable and very attentive to all 10 or so people in the class.
BELIEVE IT.I should preface this with a disclosure. I have never done yoga and while I was interested and curious about meditation, I never committed to anything beyond an app.My wife did YogaCares FULL CIRCLE program and was so impressed by her experience that she booked me into their URBAN MEDITATION RETREAT and essentially commanded that I was doing this.I am a cynical sarcastic person, and had a worry that this would be slow torture as Id been sent under duress -- I couldnt have been more wrong. What Candice and Ulises have built is a truly warm and welcoming community. One where a complete (out of shape and sedentary) novice like me felt absolutely comfortable and all doubt evaporated in seconds. This three-day experience was absolutely invigorating and eye-opening. Ulises approach to meditation is grounded in the real world without sacrificing a profound sense of the spiritual. His openness and encouragement made the three days resonate and they continue to. All of this is done with no dogmatic right or wrong -- it is all presented with a just try it sense that made it inclusive and all the more impactful. Our group was made up of a newbies like me, as well as a number of returning students -- they shared the same kind and open tone that Candice set. Over the course of the retreat, we did all manner of breathing exercises, deep meditation and some yoga movement. While the movement was wildly uncharted territory, I remained open and thoroughly appreciated it.A highlight for me was after a morning session of breathing and meditation, Ulises led us down Fulton Street to the bustling South Street Seaport to see if we could maintain a meditative consciousness while surrounded by the relentless chaos of New York City. If there is any proof needed of the value of the practice -- this was it.I have returned to Yoga Care for a number of weeks now to do their breathing and meditation workshops and am beyond grateful for my forced weekend in their kind care and have been inspired to make meditation part of my life as Ive already begun to see the results.
Full disclosure, Im a Bikram teacher, but not at Yoga Care. Since their renovation under new management a few years ago the space has improved significantly. It is cleaner and has a serene feeling when walking in. The teachers are solid with their instruction and the room is definitely warm enough. I love that they also offer meditation and breathing classes. This is a jewel in down-downtown that I wish more people knew about.
YogaCare is like a hidden gem! I learned Bikram there just a year ago and it, coupled with the Pranayama breathing and meditation sessions given there have been such a positive change for me. The Full Circle program was an incredible way for me to learn these practices AND how to incorporate them into my life. Thank you Uli, Candice and the entire staff for all that you do every day!
Created this account TODAY just to rate the studio. They have a woman named Candace who likes to lie....now granted I missed my first appt....all me but when I reached out to Candace to see if could POSSIBLY reschedule she said sure. Then she proceeded to schedule me for a class that does not exist! If she didn’t want to reschedule she should have just said no and of course she did it at a time she would not be there which is typical for women like her. Yogacare Studio sucks! PERIOD. AND DONT AT ME I can get vulgar beyond vulgar!
This review is for (1) Bikram Yoga and (2) the 3 day Urban Meditation Retreat at YogaCare:(1) BIKRAM YOGA AT YOGACAREIf you are looking for REAL hot yoga, this is your place. No music or unwarranted pats on the back. Just a great opportunity to learn about your body and mind with incredibly knowledgeable teachers and alongside a wonderful and welcoming community. I honestly feel so lucky to have found this place.I came to NYC for a summer internship, disenchanted with yoga in general, but thought Id give this place a try because of the great reviews claiming similar things to what I did above (and because it was located so near to my work). I knew after my first class with Suda-May, that I would be coming pretty much every day after that. This places captures the EXPERIENCE of yoga very well. A lot places Ive been know how to talk a good game about it, but every person here just lives it. I loved that.(2) 3 DAY URBAN MEDITATION RETREATBefore I went to the retreat, I wasnt sure what to expect. Would it be totally hippie-dippy? Pseudo-intellectual? Etc.? Now, having experienced it, what I can say is that everything you practice and learn at the retreat is extremely USEFUL for your everyday life, and that it is about as grounded in reality as you can get. Thats actually kind of the point. One of the things Ulises, the teacher/guide of the retreat, says is just try it, see what you think. You wont get brainwashed or anything. Just try it with and open mind and see what it does for you. What do you actually do at the retreat? Each day is a series of breathwork (breathing exercises), meditation, dialogue, and yoga/movement practices. Doing them for 3 days helped me create a foundation to continue them on my own. Additionally, and I think in no small part because of the kind of space created at the retreat, you get to know the other people at the retreat on a deep level. This was wonderful because each person was such a light, and it was great to begin friendships in such a healthy and positive environment.Doing this retreat is like traveling: you never regret it. Yes, it is something new, and, yes, it may seem a little weird, risky, or out of the norm to some of your friends or co-workers (it did in my world of Management Consulting), but that is the definition of something that can be amazing in your life and even change it. I know it did for me. BIG thanks to Ulises and Candice for organizing/leading it.

2020-11-30Great yoga studio with amazing classes and be sure to check out their Full Circle Program! I wasnt sure I would have time to commit to the Full Circle program but thankfully Candice convinced me that even with starting a new job it was a great time to start. The program focuses on yoga, meditation, breathing, and nutrition. I now have more tools in my toolkit to deal with everyday stress and, currently, this never ending pandemic. Cant recommend enough!

2020-01-27YogaCare is amazing! Everything from the classes, to the atmosphere, to the staff is wonderful at this studio. The breathwork and meditation classes have been particularly transformational for me. There is a true sense of family and community at this space that is obvious the moment you walk into the studio. Owners Candice and Uli are two of my favorite people ever. You can tell that they put their hearts and souls into running YogaCare, and it is reflected in the way they connect with and support all of their students. I highly recommend checking out this studio!

2019-11-26I’ve been to many yoga studios and Yoga Care is my absolute favorite. This place has checked boxes I didn’t even know I had when looking for a yoga studio. The studio itself is extremely clean. The classes are relaxing yet challenging. Plus the staff (and even regulars) are genuinely friendly and welcoming. By your third visit, it feels like you’re apart of a community. Also, if you are thinking about joining Full Circle. DO IT! Just finished my 1st one and I feel completely transformed for the better.

2020-06-19I’ve been a member of YogaCare for a little over 4 years. It has transformed my mind and body through a great variety of classes in Bikram yoga, Dharma yoga, breath work, and meditations. The teachers and staff are warm, supportive, wonderful people to be around. Their “Full Circle” programs are amazing experiences that incorporate nutritional education along with in depth yoga practices and life choices. The online version of classes and programs are interactive, multifaceted and include personal attention to all aspects of practice. At 59 years old I learned how to stand on my head and continue to learn how to be younger.

2019-05-18I decided to try out yogacare since I work nearby and had recently got into yoga. I wasnt a fan of bikram but once I started attending classes here I instantly saw improvements in focus and posture so I started attending class 3 to 4x a week. All the instructors here are great. They are stern and engaged in class - which influences all the students to be dedicated to the practice and this sets an excellent environment for class. Also, the instructors provides the right amount of adjustment for the student to learn or deepen into the pose. The business owners, Ulises and Candice, are very invested in maintaining a friendly community. They are open to chatting with everyone who attends for the betterment of their practice and their experience at yogacare.I am participating in full circle at the moment. Initially I was very skeptical but am very glad I committed to it. Its fun, amazing for health, and a great learning experience to productivly transform the mind, soul, and spirit.

2017-12-12YogaCare is such an awesome studio! I found the studio when I was looking for a Bikram class in the city. I soon learned that this studio offered so much more! They offer breathing and meditation classes that really helped me with my yoga practice. They also offer an amazing lifestyle program that incorporates diet, yoga, strength, and meditation. This program changed my life! It changed my body and my approach to my health. I also met so many amazing people who have supported me through my health journey! Everyone at the studio is awesome and cares very deeply about everyone who walks through the door! Thank you!
