For me its a five-star little place close in our nice little town the food is always great the staff is always helpful The Waitresses are always checking on you to make sure everything is good and if you need anything else and the owners are always on site talkin to you making sure theyre doing a good job and the prices are excellent we had two glasses of wine 4 rum and cokes a full size antipasto salad mixed vegetables chicken francese and a New York strip steak which came with salads and for dessert cheesecakes plus Saturday night there is live music all four 109.43 to get that kind of price you have to stay home and eat and play the radio!! Its a place definitely worth going and checking out
I havent been here in almost 10 years... and you know when you walk back into a place and you hope it still is what you remembered and then youre not satisfied? This is not the case. Everything was delicious. Service was great. Their pizza is just awesome. Love their house dressing. I love this place. I love that I feel like Im at my aunts brownstone in Queens and we are sitting in her living room because we couldnt fit in the kitchen. I am not going to wait another 10 years. Thank you for bringing me back home.
Had a terrific meal. I am tough on Italian food and I was made very happy. Service was fine. The place was so that we can have a conversation without talking loud. The menu was diverse and everyone was pleased. Parking was fine. I will return for sure. This place is about the food.
My family has been going to this restaurant since before I was born. Its a great family Italian restaurant. The waiters/waitresses/owners always greet us when we walk in. It can get crowded at dinner time, so come a little early or expect a little wait. The food is delicious! They have pasta dinner nights and they also do takeout. The pizza is awsome and according to members of my family they have the best pizza crust on long island.
Quaint little Italian restaurant serving your usual Italian cuisine. My wife had a garden salad and commented how fresh the lettuce was. I had French onion soup which was passable. As a main course my wife had fried calamari, it was over cooked and appeared to need the oil changed in the deep fryer. I had Chicken Marsala. Mine was under cooked, a little tough in spots. Besides these problems, the food took a long time to come to us, and our server was more interested in another couple who were obviously regulars. The guy kept yelling across the restaurant. When we were ready for our check, our server, possibly the owner, sat back down with the other couple once more.
Could give it any less, I would. From the get go, disappointment was imminent. We had to go get our item silverware so we could bitter our bread, eat a salad, and eat what they called French onion soup. When asked what type of dressing i wanted, I was not given any choice, but rather played a guessing game as to what was available. When I finally settled on house made creamy Italian, I was given something that resembled kindergarten paste. My wifes French onion soup resembled some sorry of steak or prime rib au jus, with burnt cheese on top and a burnt bottom. When we did finally recieve or meal ( an hour later ), it was the most horrible adaptation off Italian food that I have ever witnessed. I had what appeared to be 2 and some pieces of manicotti drowned in a flavorless sauce complete with a topping of not very melted mozzarella. I ended up adding salt and pepper too it just to get some sort of flavor going. My wifes stuffed ravioli were undercooked and rubbery to chew, and her sauce was just as horrible as mine. Water was served in dirty glasses without ice and or beverages came in clear solo cups. Paying $17 per plate, again 2 and some pieces of manicotti and 4 rubbery stuffed shells was horrible. Calling this establishment an Italian restaurant is like calling McDonalds a seafood gourmet. I would be embarrassed to run this place. Next time, Ill just drive the 25 minutes out of my way too go to O Sole Mio in Stony Brook, and even wait 3 hours in a snowstorm for that matter, at least I know it will be real Italian cuisine. Spoiler alert if you still want to go, the bathroom light switches are about shoulder height ( for someone thats 61 ), so have fun with that. AND, as I type this review, my stomach is making some funny sounds and same thing is happening to my wife.
I started eating here in 1973 and the place was already around for decades.. Although the pizza is very good, I prefer the entrees including heros, pasta and ravioli as well as the salads. Interior is clean and old school and typifies what a real Italian eatery should be.
Food is decent. Averagely good typical Italian. No bells. No frills on the decor either which seems to be there since the towns heyday in 1955. The biggest issue is service and payment. If you get one of the local hires to serve you- great. If you get the OWNER to serve you or especially to figure out your archaic style know-your-math bill, too bad for you. I didnt eat in-house much, but out of the few times I did, she blatantly overcharged me, with NO APOLOGY.
This place was recommended & we live in area. It was worst Italian place ever been to. Went 1st time will never go again. (Later people said it was very good w original owners it changed.) Your outside sign is misleading as well when people looking for this name but in big letters you have your names. Heres highlights..When u have some1 greeting u when walk in please tell the 2 guys/waiter to wear NON stained shirts. The mens room was gross he said. 1st place been to ever with issues putting ice cubes in glasses. Water to table should have ice. Same with icetea/soda. Why not? Is ice expensive for you but you charge alot for meals We had.We had to ask and brought out 1 cup w some ice. We sat ate dishes. For 2 it was expensive (we didnt have alcoholic drinks). Appetizers I had the tortellini was very good. Salad 2 choices dressing isnt enough, had house dressing sorry but it wasnt good I didnt eat it. My shrimp parm had only 6 shrimp non breaded which it wasnt cheap. Idk where u get your red sauce/who made it I got sick throwing up from it. Never had experience in Italian restaurant like this. Fyi iceteas, soda are poured from can-no soda dispensers (saw him do this).
Spent a few beautiful nights here. The service was warm attentive and delightful. Amazing garlic bread made of clouds and love in all seriousness. Everything I have ordered has been melt in your mouth delicious. Chicken marsala and Veal especially. I frequent Onofrios on special occaisions as they are slightly expensive but completely worth every penny. Must try it you will fall in love!

2022-01-30Been going here on and off for 38 years when I would go to my friends summer house in Mastic Beach and the pizza still tastes the same. Consistency is the secret to the delicious pizza pies. The many dishes they serve are also excellent.

2019-06-27EDIT/WENT 6/16 to go out for fathers day. We were very very disappointed. Been living here 10+ yrs tried Ontofrios now but you might pass it looking for the sign to say it. Easily you can spot which I didnt know changed owners which reflects on the sign as Steve & Pattis-same place different owners.( does say Onofrios est.1950 underneath). This day it wasnt packed @ that time. Dont expect it to be big inside.FIRST its very nice when you walk into a place & are greated! To be honest Steve & Patti it would have been better if they didnt. Both fellows had STAINED TSHIRTS on & no it wasnt that something just spilled on them. Im sure you could agree on that.It was 2 of us the bill was just over $80 before tip! Thats pricey for what we got which I will detail. Portions werent big, no alcohol, no desserts...read on-Our drinks were icetea & soda. This is only place ever been that serves your water and drinks w no ice. Then when asked for ice brought us 1 cup out w some. Idk y skimp on ice. Fyi beverages saw him pour out of a can usually its fountains. Took several times ask for our beverages.-Ordered the appetizers of tortellini and muscles for him. 1 french onion soup and came w 1 salad. Hope u like 1 of 3 choices of dressing-greek ,blue cheese, creamy italian. Got italian as dont like the others, the italian had weird taste I didnt eat it. (We are not picky and eat out all different types food, places)-french onion soup was just ok.-app tortellini I had was actually the best of everything, was very good.-he had muscles in white which were cooked perfect and on the bigger side-he had seafood combo cooked fine tasted fine except red sauce-I had shrimp parm w penne alla vodka for the pasta. The pasta penne alla vodka is my favorite but not good. Its the sauce they use dont like. Took 2 bites and couldnt eat it.-see by the pics not much to eat less then 10 shrimp. They are not breaded if thats what u r used to.-sorry but this is an italian place. The red sauce sb yummy. It was the worst Ive had out at an Italian place ever.I got sick right after we left all night.-he used mens room said just cant understand the upkeep. The walls not all way painted but not as if they started to repaint them more its been the 1st paint job never got chance to finish. Needs to be cleaned too. Its not good feeling walking into something like that.Maybe times are tough for them Idk but very disappointed as we went to celebrate fathers day.As a reviewer I just tell as it was/is as I would want someone to be honest when reviewing place. We wont go back, I have family moving out this way they wont go.PS another poster said there was live music not when we went. Maybe its on different day/night.---Below from week before top post..They are closed Mondays will have to try another time (have all stars because havent tried yet so wouldnt give bad review)

2021-09-15LOVE Onofrios! They have the best pizza, hands down! Small family owned little gem in Mastic. My family has been going since they opened way back when- my dad, my sisters, and now my nieces all love this spot. Great for a family gathering or to just pick up a pie!

2021-07-20Food was just so so. Their prices are definitely cheaper than Mama Lisas or La Volpes, but you get what you pay for. When we arrived they werent that crowded. Waitress kept apologizing saying the oven was full with baked clams so the food was taking longer to get out. We were there for over 2 hours!

2021-04-23Im sorry to one my growing up. This meal was kinda like when you realize grandma isnt the same grandma in cooking anymore. Maybe let grandma coach from the sideline. But with all this, I cant imagine their pizza ever losing its grace..please please, please.Yes, thats right, by the late James Brown.Sauce extremely salty. Carbonaro is very disappointed. Their replacement was Lasagna, I felt so bad. wasnt much better. It is with deep pain. I dont want to believe this..so Im hoping it was just a bad day. Their service was great.
