We had been here years ago during apple season to buy fresh cider and apples. I remember it being very good. We happened upon it again on a drive today and stopped. They have everything from soil and peat moss and flowers to bagged trail mix and homemade sauces and salsa. We couldnt leave without snagging a large, fresh apple crumb pie!
This is the place to go for healthy, fairly priced trees and shrubs. I purchase all of my gardening needs from fruit trees to fungicides and everything in between. They have everything here. Beer and wine making kits, a bakery with amazing donuts and pies, fresh produce, and a TON of houseplants. The staff is extremely helpful and courteous and always a pleasure to work with.
Excellent place to shop and blow cash. The prices arent great but the offerings are fresh and tasty. Veggies, trail mixes and nuts, baked goods and pastries, pet food, all kinds of candies and treats, its just a wonderful place to shop. Very pleased with my purchases.
An unexpected surprise!! We were led here by our airbnb guests from Wisconsin who had discovered this place a few days earlier while exploring. She wanted to come back for more apples! Pulling in reminded me of our old fruit stand in Vestal. Ontario Orchards is full of unexpected delights. Its over an hour and a half from me but Im sure Ill find an excuse to come back.
OMG!! The perennials, the bushes, the flowering bushes and the fruit trees were absolutely beautiful and so many different colors to choose from. Inside there was homemade baked goods, local produce, syrup, cheese curd (all local) and so many other things. Cant wait to go back!
Beautiful nursery/greenhouse/ farm market. They have a great selection of plants, shrubs and trees. I got 2 rose bushes and so far they are doing great. They had baked goods, fruit, candy, soup mixes along with a host of other stuff. Flower pots, straw bales and stuff to decorate your garden/flower spot. Prices for plants were more in line with places like Dickman farms and Hornings greenhouse, rather than say, Lowes, or my local greenhouse.
Awesome place! Stopped in yesterday after checking out SUNY Oswego for my brother and we were in heaven. I had a GIANT vanilla half moon cookie yesterday and an currently eating an asiago bagel. So good! The produce was also great! Wish I had a store like this near me!
My wife and I have been married for 31 yrs come this June. She introduced me to Grandma Browns Baked Beans many years ago. I fell in Love with them, my wife likes them cold me, I like them warmed up. We live in Blacksburg, Va and had the pleasure of talking with Laurie and her co workers at Ontario Orchards a few weeks ago. We have not had their famous beans in a long time. We ordered a Full Case and it arrived yesterday. WE will certainly be doing Orders again with this Fine Company in the future! Please know that the Quality and the Price are very reasonable and if you have not tried at least ONE item from Ontario Orchards YOU are missing something very Special!
I cant help but stop here on my way home from the Sterling Nature Center to browse their houseplants. Ive found some really amazing species here for only $4. My only real complaint is that theres zero effort to label the plants in any way. Regardless, I appreciate the country store feel and local delicacies enough to give them 5 stars.
Love going to Ontario Orchards because the selections are so vast. However this time we decided to try the premade salads. Unfortunately, none of them had flavor and were just not good. 3 bean had no flavor, potato salad potatoes were raw and the Broccoli salad was just plain awful. You can’t ever go wrong with the cheese and the vegetables were fresh. The pricing of everything was very reasonable and would probably give them another shot.
Love love love this place! Ive been coming here my entire life, literally, and it just keeps getting better and better. The freshest, most delicious produce as well as a wide variety of other fun things, baked goods, etc...its SO much more than a produce store! They have the most beautiful and healthiest plants and trees. They cost a little more but they are worth EVERY PENNY!
What a cool spot! Lots of different local products including some delicious baked goods plus items to help you brew your own beer/cider etc. - they even had printouts of basic recipes to help you get started. Really neat place I hope to visit again next time Im up here.
Love love love this orchard! I always seem to spend a mini fortune there. They have a bakery that has amazing cream pies! I happened to stop on the perfect day and bought a banana cream pie on clearance for $6. They are so much more than apples. They have a little bit of everything including fudge, fruits and vegetables and even pet food. They also have a shop local section that features products made in central NY.
I called to verify a specific plant was in stock, verified there was only one left with a man that worked the greenhouse, put that plant on reserve to ensure it would be there later the same day When I was able to pick up. Drove 45 minutes to get it, and was told they Never put it on hold and that the guys in the greenhouse don’t ever know what they’re talking about. Pretty terrible customer service. The lady that works the back food counter was rude on several different levels, super unhelpful, and made me feel bad for even bothering her to ask. I definitely would’ve bought some of the other plants for my 1.5 hr drive had the employees not been so rude. Will definitely not come back here.
Love this place. This trip I went in for onions and garlic for my salsa and I was surprised to find guajillo and anchor peppers! Bought every bag they had. Now I dont have to wait for a trip down south for my peppers and can make sauce when ever! Also bought some lovely bell and tomatoes plants earlier in the season and they are growing nicely.
This place used to be the best farmers market around, but it has gotten crazy expensive. I didnt look at plants this time around, but the fruits and veggies are high priced and the pies are about twice what they used to be. Still tons of people there though. It was hard to even move around and they dont organize the check out lines at all, so people jump ahead of you in line if you arent assertive.
I loved the variety the market had..lots of neat things to buy. However I was not impressed with their apple pies. I purchased 2 of the small pies and there were hardly any apples inside. It was deceiving as the crust was puffed high..I thought it would have been stuffed with apples
A must visit place in Oswego. They have all your fruits, veggies, and bakery goods you could ask for. Plus, they have the good half-moon cake cookies! The cashiers arent the friendliest, but they are fast, so quick visits are an option. There is a big enough parking lot for plenty of cars and larger vehicles, too
Worth a stop but prices are outrageous. Four stars for selection, quality and uniqueness of the wares. Some hard to find items. Great selection of plants. Bakery items are OK some good some bad and some in between. Produce is nothing special for the price. But selection of produce is extensive, there is a fair amount of hard to find items. But a lot of them are pretty old. Freshness does not seem to be paramount here. I dont think they have enough turnover to keep things fresh. A lot of very old looking produce still priced to the moon. So not at all a place to go just for groceries but for the occasional hard to find item or to look around its great. The owner does have kind of a holier than thou attitude. Interrogating me when I was looking around what can I help you find? in an accusatory, buy something or get out tone... Uh just browsing thanks... cool place nonetheless but be prepared to suffer through the usual hoity toityness of self-proclaimed country folk who think theyre better than you.
Absolutely great about maple sugar products and customer service! Ordered some maple sugar candy from them to bring for friends/coworkers abroad, but had a tight leaving schedule, so paid for the faster UPS delivery. They talked with the post people on the shipping and found out that USPS delivery would have been faster and less than half the price, so they refunded me the difference, and everything arrived as it should be. (Not to mention everyone here in Finland loved the taste of Upstate NY). Highly recommend!
One of Oswegos gems. All around great country farm store. Best muffins in town and the best place for fresh fruit in the area. Are you tired of hard tasteless peaches from the big box stores? Well this place has the ones we remember from our childhoods; sweet, tart and juices running down your chin.
Its a great place to shop they have everything that you need. The employees that work there a really and truly helpful and friendly. The store it self is very well organized if you cant find what your looking for just ask and they will show you were it is.Great Job everyone.
Absolutely love their bakery, best sugar cookies & half moons, great pies & muffins too. Produce is always fresh, fresh apple cider & hard cider is to die for & OMG the Penuche!!! We stop here every year & get a box of local jellies, sauces & maple syrup to take home.
I love Ontario Orchards. They have a variety of things. Here are a few...amazing baked goods, syrup, honey, produce, nuts, dried fruit, trail mixes, bird seed, dog treats, great vegetable and flower plants in the spring...there is much more...go check it out you wont be disappointed!
Love this place- the nicest staff ever-the owners ate fantastic and have been very good to my folks. A visit to Sterling wouldnt be complete without stopping in- the half moon cookies, the Apple pies, the freshest produce ever and yes stop by the counter and get the most incredible cheese on the planet. We love this place! Just left today with something for every meal this week and cant wait to cook because Ontario Orchards inspires me !!! We love you guys@!!
Now this is an excellent place to go year round. The Baked goods are fantabulous ! The Produce always the freshest !!! You can find some one of a kind food gifts here as well. Do not miss the Sally Anders Soap Section !!! Great Food and Drinks !!! We love fall for the Pumpkin Donuts and Apple Cider Donuts as well as the Cider ! I also found some sweet resin Snowflake christmas tree ornaments and some sunflower ones for my daughter for her kitchen. You will always find an Awesome Christmas Tree or Wreath here during the winter season ! Also, get your 20 lb propane tanks filled her for a decent price ! They have a great section of Amish foods and Maple Syrup Products !!!

Very helpful and it was 10 minutes before closing time. Helped us pick out a dwarf Japanese maple and boxed up 2 half moon cookies for me. Tree is doing excellent so far at our home and cookies were delicious as always. I dont get out to Ontario Orchards too often, but its always a worthwhile trip when I do. Highly recommend! You wont regret it.
Local fruits and vegetables, homemade baked goods, local cheese, bulk nuts, bulk dried fruits, bulk snacks, local cider, plus plants, flowers and shrubs. This is the best and largest farmstand in Oswego County. The selection and variety are outstanding. Prices are fair and inexpensive. The fruits and veggies are high quality. The baked goods are delicious, especially the pies, which feature local fruit. I especially like their Dutch Apple pie and their cheese curds.
Busy spot. We were returning from visiting nearby Chimney Bluff park. Had our fav types of apples ...honey crisp, macouns and spies...got honeycrisp cider which we are keen to taste, so a successful mission. But son picked out a german chocolate half moon cookie which a nabbed a chuck of...it was the best cookie id had in a long while.
Keep it small and keep it local. Ontario Orchards has been a mainstay in Oswego County for years. Fresh produce, organic meats, cheeses, baked goods and of course...apples. Visit their store and youll be amazed at the variety. Beef jerky. Eggs. Popcorn. Maple syrup. Honey. Herbs and spices. Mulch. What dont they have? Every time I pass by its a must stop... even if just for a 1/2 moon cookie...
Located just past the SUNY Oswego Campus this shopping experience offers a farmers market feel year around. Full of seasonal favorites from flowering baskets, vegetables, baked goods to grab and go food. Not ready to shop? Grab some ice cream and just walk around for a fun little visit, you wont be disappointed!
Best place in the area for Apple cider donuts onthe weekend and Carmel apples in the fall. Also the best place to get a cinnamon bun, havent found a better one in Albany, Rochester or NYC. Good produce and a small but reasonable selection of beer/wine/ hard Apple cider making supplies.
I am verry un happy with how things are at ontario orchards their is so sanitized to clean your hands after getting what you need and signing for your things if you use a card or after you touch their key pad thing and that is gonna be the reason this keeps spreading if your gonna stay open atleast take the precautions not to spread the virus its verry unsafe and ignorant and people are just gathering in big amounts their today no 6 foot distance not following any of the protocols to make sure this dont spread you should be turned into the health department
Well I has here the prior and received a veteran discount of 10% I returned the next day to get more mulch so I asked about the discount the old women behind the counter told me I was lucky to get itI have been to war and there’s nothing lucky about itMy last trip here

2022-06-05I truly love Ontario orchards, it is full of everything do you need. From plants, to food, to pastries, and even outdoor and indoor decor. The only reason I put four stars because the pricing is a little high, But most the time it’s worth it. Just like my two cactuses. They were only two dollars and I love them! The images you see are them. Actually the one on the right was my brothers. He wasn’t watering them correctly and wasn’t using the right water, so I took it into my own hands. I’ve had them for months, and there are as healthy as ever. The one on the right has made a huge recovery, he doesn’t look too great because he was accidentally put him in direct and watered, so he bubbled. But all of that aside, Ontario orchards has great plants! If you read this far I really appreciate it and I hope this helped.

2022-05-15Very disappointed today. We were asked to not bring our dog into the stand. We have been bringing him with us for years because he has seizures and cannot be left home alone. He is small and quiet and fits in child seat on the cart. Guess we won’t be going here anymore.
