Stopped in for some hair gel and got to talking to the guy behind the counter, he pointed me in the right direction for a different product. I thought I was an up-sale at first but he was right, pomade was the way to go. Great store with plenty of beauty, health, and hygiene products. And obviously a knowledgeable staff. Thank you!

BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE.I love optima beauty as this is the nearest beauty supply store near my house and I’m a loyal customer there. I buy a lot of stuff there and they also try to give me $$ off sometimes. But today I faced a really bad customer service. I never saw that lady before there and I hope to never see her face ever again. Fix your customer service Optima Beauty. You’ll lose a lot of customer because of that. I was about to buy a lot of makeup today as I needed them but it was your loss because I walked out of the store because of the bad customer service.
Such a wonderful and friendly place. Bilingual staff. They carry both popular and uncommon beauty products from around the world. Their recommendations are excellent. I’m in there constantly ! Optima has a fantastic rewards program that gives you $$$ off future purchases.

Walked in and the owner was singing senorita we then locked eyes and started singing together. It was magical. Then he helped me find the products I needed for my wife, great store and prices.
I decided to give this place another try, and my experience was highly positive this time around. The people today were super polite and made me happy that I walked by all the other beauty supply in the area to come to this one.Why I like this specific store is because the hold a large selection of hair dye products, my main favorite being Wella. They have the Wella Multi Blonde hair bleach, which I could normally ever find online. If youre ever trying to bleach your hair, I highly suggest Wella Multi Blonde Bleach and Welloxon Perfect 6% (20 volume) developer. The formula is very consistent, doesnt get super watery, doesnt get dusty, and just makes fore an easy application. AND I CAN TELL YOU IVE TRIED A LOT OF BLEACHES BEFORE. And Optima carries like all of the Wella products I love for the bleaching and toning process.They also have the usual Wella toners. I obviously only go for T14 - T18 as I do love looking like an old man with white hair.Pricing is competitive. The Wella toners I bought were $2.99, where in other big franchise stores I would get the same toners for double that price. So if you want to get a good deal on toners, definitely GO here. I never EVER liked how other big named stores sold me a small bottle of toner for $6. The 1 ounce bleach packet I got from Optima were $5.49, where if I were to get the bleach online, the 1 ounce of bleach would cost me $8 + shipping. The store is priced amazingly fair for amazing products.But if youre not into blonde hair, then they also have TOOONS of other dyes to choose from. I ALMOST risked it and got soft pink hair dye buuuuut I start a new job next week sooooo Im holding off on it. For now.Overall, I love the huge selection of dyes and bleaches offered here. The store is organized so everything is super easy to find. The owner values customers obviously, and that to me means a lot. Will be back after my roots grow out again. :)
This store is clean organized and staff is muti ligo. Great rewards program as well. I have shopped here many times and always leave with something. Highly recommend

This place has everything you need. The employees are there if you need help. The store carries real morphe, sigma, smashbox and bare minerals products. I recently bought a morphe z palette and a morphe makeup belt. They also have a lot of hair products.Great place!!!
Very polite staff its incredible that in this day and age store still dont do refunds they try to give you a store credit so you continue to keep shopping in their store whether they carry your product or not it is a horrible business practice not to give refunds in 2020

I walked in to exchange a hairbrush which I had bought the day before. I am not familiar in this field so I asked an employee which one would get the results that I want. After taking it home I realized that it was a wave brush which did not work for me. As I walked in the following day, the cashier called the only male on the floor to come and continously tell me that they do not return products. I told him I made this purchase based on your associates recommendation which was clearly not for my hair and they could care less. As a business you should hand me my reciept upon purchase which was not. As a customer, I should not have to ask for one. Your policy as a licensed store should be to aim towards the satisfaction of your customers and with your ridiculous policy with no sign in sight and no reciept to instruct other wise; how should one know. I knew there was no point to argue so I left the brush that I purchased on their counter and walked out. I will be sending my letter to consumer affairs. I am giving it two stars because I know the associate did not act with malice. However their approach and unwillingness to accomodate is why they get 2 stars
I travel from Brooklyn to Queens to buy from this store. It has the biggest NYX cosmetics display Ive seen so far. They have Sigma, morphe brushes and eyeshadows and masglo nail polish to nail a few. I wish they carry more milani and Jordana cosmetics (they are my favorite). Excellent beauty store.
Andyson is the best stylist here for both men and women. This salon is best Asian salon in NY and it is me and my BF favorite. Andyson wont let you down with any style you want. He cut your hair as a pro.

Worst customer service Ive ever received.I came in to ask a question about their refund policy and as soon as I walked in the door I got a dirty look and attitude. I continued to try and kill him with kindness with a smile on my face the entire time but he was extremely rude and when I asked him a question he answered me very sarcastically as if I was an idiot for even asking the question. I will never take my business here again.
They don’t sell braiding or crochet hair and a very limited supply of extensions.
It is the best place in Queens the best brands of cosmetics. The employees are respectful and do an excellent job .I recommend that they go shopping.

2022-02-16Well I can say that is my first time walking in there they welcomed me in they let me stop they would not following me and I like that they had great customer service the girls always had a smile the very friendly and when I reach to the register I think that was the manager very great customer service from him to very friendly. And what I was looking for I found it never mention that finally walked into a beauty supply and found what I was looking for thats why I give them a five star

2019-11-20Wow...this store has everything you need for beauty supplies and also stocks some awesome men’s hair care products that you will not find in other stores. The manager Andy is knowledgeable about the products he has in stock and if you have any questions he is willing to answer. Prices are excellent and service is top notch. I definitely will be stopping by again in the future for any men’s hair care and grooming products.11/20/19....Back at Optima again and what more can I say...great selection of men’s grooming products and really competitive prices even compared to online stores. Stop by for all you beauty supply needs. Also the manager is saying they are having special promotions for Black Friday.

2021-03-30I’ve been coming to Optima for sooooo many years and it’s always an amazing experience. All the staff is very knowledgeable and super friendly. They offer great prices on all products. They always have everything I need in stock and if it’s not on the shelves, the staff can quickly find it in their back room. I can never go to any other beauty supply store cause none compare to Optima.

2020-02-25I usually avoid beauty shops but this one was highly recommended as they carry a wide array of products and the prices are great as well. I needed a product that was currently low in stock and Andy the amazing business owner he is was kind enough to have the right amount shipped to my house. The customer service here is phenomenal and Andy is very knowledgeable in the products that he carries. He made great recommendations and is a very friendly guy.
