I give you my a star because I don’t have the option to give you less. We star to pay $40 dollar monthly for the service, then the company up to $65 because we are more of one with the company, that’s ok, today we receive the bill and get charge $98 for a basic internet, and we get charge $20 for a partial month because somebody make changes in our optimum account. We call and the tree persons who talk with us are not available to give us a reasonable answer about the new charges, the only give us new excuses every time I ask for every charge separate, when I tray to discuss with the customer service representative about to open an investigation of who call and make the changes the customer service person start to be sarcastic with us, and say is nothing more to discuss. More of one hour in the phone and I resolve nothing. Now I’m going to call Business Bureau.
Terrible. The WORST cable company I’ve ever dealt with. Can not get through to customer service and if you do they will hang up on you rather then take care of your problems. WiFi speed is not at the speed you pay for. Went to the local store to up WiFi speed and get new modem and router. The refurbished ones they gave me were faulty. Paying for 200 MBPS was getting 8.9 MBPS!!! Yes that’s not a typo. The technician appointment was 6 days later. I was told it was the earliest. Not to mention the time frame is between 10am - 8pm. Cannot get any representative that is in the United States. Terrible, terrible service. If you can get another service do it. Even if you have to pay double. Save yourself aggravation. Absolute worst company I’ve dealt with. You might be better with a regular digital antenna and not even getting cable. If I could give it no stars or negative I would. Stay clear of this company
This is the most horrible tv provider in the world!!!! There is no way I could find to contact a living person. The options they stubbornly provide when one calls for help do not jibe with my problem which is a downed cable line outside my house, but there is no one to talk to about that. Extremely Poor Customer Service!! Have been trying to switch service from old owner to new owner for the past 2 months. They dont use email for business documents but rather rely on fax and physical mail. Once you submit documents, no one gets back to you if there are any updates or if you are missing anything. Have to call and ask status, and every time you call they say currently working on it and use the pandemic as an excuse for 2 months. Was told to go to the physical store for better customer service, went there, and the store representative told me they only handle residential issues and told me to call the business line. It has been very frustrating as a small business to have to deal with this nuance and to waste time on stuff like this.
The reps at the counter were courteous and very professional! However, to have my cable card bound to the system i use is another story. Its been 3 weeks now that i dont have service. The customer service line talks in circles and doesnt address my problem. Then finally i am put into a call queue to speak to a person instead of a computer. Finally, after 2 to 3 hours later they could not fix the problem.
I showed up and there was a line of people waiting outside. The worker quickly checked me in and told me that I would get a text message when its my turn to go in. I waited for about 15 minutes I was called in and the staff was very friendly and took care of my needs. As I was waiting I noticed that they were cleaning the counters and making sure everything was sanitary for the customers.
It is 5:43 pm. I have phoned three times to request more current cable boxes (4) than the ones I have, primarily because a new television set I bought to replace an antique has an HDMI 1 input but the cable box does not have an HDMI output. On each phone call here’s what happened: pressed 1 after prompt, for English; pressed 2 after prompt, for correct phone number; said “new cable boxes” following final prompt.Here’s what happened next: Robot said I was being directed to the proper department. Then silence. No hold music. Occasional beeps. I looked at the ID panel on my phone—still had a connection. Silence reigned. After 5 minutes on each of the calls I gave up.Optimum sucks.
Every few months its something else, costing money, time and aggravation. This weekend I spent at least 3 hours on the phone, 6 phone calls, to get my cable service restored. Still nothing! Im a senior and have to drive to drop off another burnt out cable box for an exchange. They charge me $259 per month, and I have to exchange it and hook it up myself, or pay an additional $81 dollars for them to do it. Unbelievable! Optimum, you suck!
Counted 7 people ahead of me while I waited 32 min outside ,wairing a mask in 91degree weather. Went inside the male worker pleasantly accepted my box. Female coworker looked out the window to see how many customers were waiting & commented not too bad. I would like to see that woman wait 32min in 91 degree weather wearing a mask. Shame on her and Cablevision!!!!!
I have never left a review in my life before, but my experience was so bad I had to. I have tried calling in to cancel my TV service and upgrade my internet and was told it was done for me on FIVE different occasions with a call center overseas, TV was never cancelled and my internet was never upgraded and they tried up selling me on Altice Mobile.
This companys service is the a solute worst. I work for one of the largest global corporations in the service industry. If we had service like optimum we wouldnt have the business we do presently. I am completely dissatisfied. If tere was another provide r in my area i would switch even if it cost me three times the price. They have you buy the short ones and they know it. This company isnt worth a toss.
I WOULD GIVE A NEGATIVE IF POSSIBLE WAITED 27 MINUTES ON HOLD THE B WHO ANSWERED WAS NASTY ASKED HOW MUCH FOR JUST INTERNET AND SHE WOULD NOT ANSWER ONLY SAID YOU ALREADY HAVE CABLE I SAID I KNOW I WANT TO CHANGE TO INTERNET ONLY THEN SHE HAD A FEW CHOICE WORDS AND HUNG UP ON ME. THEY NEED COMPETITION, TOO BIG FOR THEIR OWN SHOES AND THEY WOUNDER WHY PEOPLE LEAVE THEM. WHERE ARE THE BOSSES DONT KEEP TRACK OF HOW YOUR CUSTOMER SERVICE TALKS TO YOUR PATRONS
This is the worse cable ever. Had Wi-fi issues,the rep name NICOLE couldn’t speak english well.I’m trying to ask a question,I couldn’t understand her,so I tell her I don’t understand her,She hangs up,if I could reach threw the phone I would ring her neck.. They keep saying I owe them$1.44 really. THEY SUCK
Reps here were very nice and understanding. I just hate how overpriced optimum has become especially to customers who used them for over 25 yrs. New customers get package deals of $89.00 old customers pay $204.00 for the same. Ridiculous!!! Basic chanels were costing us $166.00. And now internet alone it costing us close to $100. a month. As soon as i can get rid of them i will.
Lets start with Optimum offering internet and TV to new customers at $70/mth for life. Us old customers for 30 years get nothing. Oh yeah we do get a $20 rate hike. I cancelled HBO to make up the difference. So my bill is $225/mth and my new neighbor is $126/mth. Same service. Once I figure it out Ill cancel the TV service and just keep the internet. As a plus the person who waited on me yesterday was very nice.
During these difficult times, service calls from Optimum are not prompt, but by going to this location I was helped by friendly and competent staff who got me closer to fixing a service outage. Still needed a service call, but office visit definitely helped and I am grateful.
Optimum/ Altice. The worst customer service on the phone ever , no one knows what is going on, you get false answers. My services were down for 4 days it took them 3 days for someone to come out and I lost half a days pay and it did not get fixed. They dont offer a better time frame for the repair person to come out or after 5 for the repair. The Altice box was the worst I was always on the phone for them to download another fix. So Im done. I returned all my equipment and said goodbye Altice hello Dish.
Riverhead location is now doing dual business in their location, selling altice phones AND doing regular optimum business. Making a simple optimum payment gets mixed up with people looking to purchase phone service. Arrival time 11:13 extremely slow service, line OUT THE DOOR and not progressing.Disastrous customer service solely in terms of wait time. People working the counter are very courteous.
Terrible service,they are highway robbers every year I go away for winter 3 months when I come back they offer package for new customers now I order just internet because I stream through android tv boxes(a thousand channels) and they said well this time you are returning customer internet 60 will be 65$ with my equipment instead 49.95$. The problem with them is that dont have many competitors and they fix prices the way they want and if you downgrade service they have fees after fees for anythThey search for new fees...lately 2.50 enhance fee...maybe next will be a forgotten fee....Hungry..very hungry!...when is coming competition here? I have a house in Europe too...I pay internet 7$ a month for a speed 10x than here where they charge now 32.50$ for optimum 20....yes 20!!!!...and we are close to end of 2019!
I asked them to remove an outdoor cable, which has been dangling for years, as I am not a Cablevision/Optimum customer. It has been there for almost ten years now. I called them a few times, and although they promised to send someone to remove this outdated, unnecessary, dangling exterior cableoutdoor eyesore, but no one ever showed up and it has been years now!!
Total waste of time. People working there were uninterested in my problem and definitely not helpful in the least. No better than calling into the very poor customer service people on the phone. So wish Optimum was not a monopoly. Customer service is basically is non existent here.
Worst internet I have ever experienced for the highest price I have ever paid. If you only like having the internet for half of the business day, than Optimum is the place for you! (By the way I had to write this review using cell service, because the internet was out... shocking)
Worse, the technicians do not know how to do anything, they leave everything wrong, they only lose it in time, they have already come to do an installation in my house four times and they only come to collect from their employer and they do not take anything, they are technicians garbage

2022-02-03Great place to go to if you need help. Friendly staff, very clean store and the wait time is really short. They always have been able to help me and showed sincere care for my issues. Highly recommend that if you need to go to an Optimum location that the Riverhead NY Store is the place to go!

2022-03-09If you can avoid at all costs customer service is terrible. Takes an hour to speak to someone and then they kept referring to me as a female. Disconnected on the 8 of dec they want me to pay for the full month. Find a different alternative. 03-09-22 Once again tried to resolve billing issue they will not work with you find a different alternative for cable on long island.

2021-12-28Just had a technician here and was told everything is fixed. I try using my devices and the same problem still exists. Multiple devices all the same issue. They tell me over the phone that everything tests fine and to check my connections. Isnt that the technicians job to check everything before he leaves. For what this service costs me I would think the repair service would be so much better. Very disappointed and I wish there were better options out here!!!

2021-08-27Very poor service and customer service. Prices are astronomical and there are NO OTHER OPTIONS. THEY HAVE A MONOPOLY IN OUR AREA. per other reviews, they hang-up, disconnect you after you are waiting over an hour sometimes to speak with someone. Very frustrating. The just increase your charges when they feel like it again, per other reviews, with no explanation or unsatisfactory excuses. The service cuts in and out, they cant tell you why BUT! OF COURSE they insist the higher speed options (more expensive) will fix it!!!! Im so done with this company. Cant wait to be rid of them. One tech actually SAID he was installing a damper on our wifi when we first moved in. I could never figure out what that was but we have always had poor service. Now we increased our service and included a phone. Our service STILL cuts out AND THE PHONE WORKED FOR ALL OF ABOUT 2WEEKS AND WE NOW HAVE NO DIALTONE. cant really call and talk to someone unless you have 3hours to spare. I just want a traditional land line connection no digital phone!

2021-10-26Do not believe the deals they offer for new customers. If they offer a $200 gift card BEWARE... any change negates the offer, even adding more services! They are a monopoly so if you want cable and internet in their service area, you may have no good alternatives, but know.they wont honor the deal used to suck new customers in.Following my review, Optimum reached out to me, presumably to review and resolve my issue, but instead they told me too bad you lose. Amazing! I WOULD GIVE THEM A ZERO IF I COULD.

2021-08-08Horrible customer service. You cannot talk to anyone, except an Indian call center. We pay an exorbitant amount of money for service and have been dealing with wifi problems for months. Cant watch any TV without it freezing every 30 seconds. We had a tech out who said we needed a new modem. After hours on the phone and text we were assured they were sending us a new modem but received a router and upon contacting them again we were told we had to try that first. Did not work. Here we go again.

2021-11-10I am beyond frustrated with Optimum. Our home service was fine until a few months ago our cable service was erratic. Pixelating, unable to access content etc. multiple reboots but it continued. Technician came and replace the outside cable. Now we have a WiFi extender as well. Our service has never been worse. Calling Optimum is an exercise in futility. I am now being told it’s $80 for a tech to come back in an attempt to fix the issues. They are pushing a $7.99/ month insurance policy. This is all beyond ridiculous. It’s Optimums wiring, boxes, router etc. and it’s not working. I am paying a fortune for this.
