Great campground with plenty of space for 2 tents and 2 cars. It is a beautiful virgin place that even the cell phone service cannot pierce it. The Arctic lake is not best for fishing, but swimming in it is a pleasure. Well be back next season and well make sure we bring some bug spray with us, because those insects are relentless. And also bring all the necessary things you need, because the closest supermarket is about 25 min ride, and they dont have the best prices contrary to their name Price Chopper.
Camped 5 days before memorial day, Very peaceful, Clean grassy sites, we were the only ones there so...YES bathrooms were clean, friendly staff, very secluded, so much wildlife Deer, Wild Turkey, Bears, Bald Eagle, the lake is so beautiful with plenty of GOOD sized fish to catch! Rainbow trout , Largemouth Bass, Crappie, Yellow Perch, did not even need to rent a boat plenty of shore access,my only complaint would be the shower, only a single shower for the entire camp circle (and not very private) so if its busy might be hard to get in the shower.I would recommend making sure you have everything you need with you because its a drive to find anything ! No cell Service.cant wait till our next visit ![
Nice beach. The water is nice and shallow so its great for kids but is still good for adults just have to go further out than many beaches. This summer 2020 there is no admission and no life guards. People often have blow ups this summer which often is restricted at many places. At the beach they do have charcoal grills and picnic benches near the beach.
As a family we always enjoy this peaceful, clean state park. The camping spots are large with a charcoal grill, fire ring, picnic table, and lots of space for the tent. The camp store has a few basics, the staff are helpful, the beach and lake are well cared for, and the hiking trails are enjoyable. Its our go to spot each summer.
7/4/14:Visited here for the first time and it is a great state park. We camped here for the weekend and the sites and facilities were generally pretty good. The check in process was straightforward and there is enough space on the sites to pitch a medium-sized canopy. If you go down south in the park there is the Arctic Lake that offers kayaking, swimming, and other water-based activities. It is a pretty scenic lake. Overall it is a great spot.
Oquaga offers quiet, secluded, and beautiful campgrounds. They are two-tent only and quiet hours begin at 10pm. The Arctic Lake beach area is well-maintained, the sand is swept clean, and the bathrooms are spacious. However, the showers do not have hot water. There is hot water at the individual shower stalls near the campgrounds but you must get there early in the morning or late at night. The front office is stocked with supplies and the beach life guard office offers movie night, snacks, beverages and supplies. There is no cell service so if you use GPS, save your map first.

2022-06-04We rented the cottage for an extended weekend, and it was beautiful. There were a decent amount of trails, a sizeable lake to paddle around or fish. All kinds of wildlife, you name it. The park staff were super helpful, even when we showed up a day before their campsites were open, they let us know a beautiful dispersed camping spot to spend the first night. The only downside, if you want to call it that, is that theres no cell service in the park. I liked being able to disconnect. The costs were very fair, and I would drive 6 hours there to getaway again any time.

2021-07-26Great place. Fun fishing. Beach area was great and you can have floats. Not a alot of shade for tents. Hot showers. Nice playground. No cell service we didnt mind. Fishing was great..Only down side was quiet hours start at 10 and we had noisy neighbors with 5 kids screaming and yelling till 130am and running through all the campsites including ours till we spoke up. Waking our kids up and other neighbors, bunch of kids being super loud at 530 am. Park doesnt enforce quiet hours. No patrols in the evening through morning.

2020-07-13A date in time.Lots of nature trails. Plenty of places for picnics. They have a row boat/canoe/kayak launch area.Place seems very dated. Like it is stuck on the late 60s or early 70s. Lack of upkeep on one of the buildings with holes in the shingles on the side of the building. Parking area was paved but 2nd and 3rd lots are grass mixed with pavement. They do have tenting and RV campers. The day was overcast but still had several people swimming.

2019-08-26This park and campground is a hidden gem, a real treasure. If you want to experience an exceptional experience come camp here. Lots to do. No crowds. No worn out facilities. Peace and quiet. The view of the stars at night is exceptional as there is no nearby light pollution.

2021-07-31Oquaga Creek is a nice state park surrounded by beautiful mountains. The park needs funding to work in the day use area. The snack bar was closed, and the restrooms didnt offer showers, the ones outside were out of order. The man made lake is pretty, swim at your own risk. The beach is nice, spacious. The cottage is very charming and quiet, its on a road with no much traffic, some trucks, across the road from the park entrance.Pots are a little worn out, no hangers in the bathroom but nice and clean, mattresses queen and full, so so.The staff was very friendly and extremely helpful. We had a great time.

2019-01-14We did a 2 mile trek in the peaceful setting of the Oquaga Creek State Park with our dogs. We saw only two sets of foot tracks and their dog. We had our 2 dogs with us. We never ran into anyone while walking. There were 3 people out in the middle of the lake ice fishing.Last week we did the same trek. On our way driving away from the park, we saw two, golden or young, eagles on the ice eating some prey. It was an awesome, tranquil experience. We are so appreciative that we have such a place in our own back yard.
