Poor management! We purchased ride bracelets but were cheated. Closed early without making any attempt to inform the fair goers! But the people with the concessions seemed to know, perhaps word of mouth. There didnt seem to be any organization in terms of communication. We didnt know until a man riding a cart came around and said that the fair had closed a half an hour prior and we had to leave because they were going to lock the gates. There was no way to budget our time to go on rides. Despite allegedly having closed, some in our party were able to order food from a concession stand. We were at tables eating when the man came around with the cart.
What a hugh disappointment. Now I know why you can only but tickets on line. If you pulled up you would see the farce and save your 25 dollars. 4 dollars for a cup of hot chocolate. Id say each light displayed cost you a buck fifty. What a rip off. Better deal orange county park. Its free 100 more displays. You walk through. No hot cocoa but its free.
Thank God it was in the Monster Truck purchase to get into fair free. It was boring. The only thing I liked was the Lions Club game. Food was expensive. Will never go back and even the monster truck show was boring and got poured on. Actually drenched. They is more in Ulster County then Orange.
Not a great experience. Bathrooms are filthy. Porta Johns on the grounds look like they were never cleaned since being placed. Grounds are in poor condition. Unkept at best. Go to the Dutchess County fair instead. No comparison. Dutchess County fair is far above this Orange Co garbage.
The annoyance of having to buy a wristband for my three year old, my wife AND myself was irritating because we had to just because some rides my son needed to be accompanied by an adult and we didnt want to be limited to just one parent going every time. The wristbands are not non-transferable so we had to spend $110 just to get Im and for rides for my three year old. Also the worst part was watching the man who was running the merry-go-round get berated by his boss mechanic in front of customers while he was fixing the ride. He was a nasty little man that was constantly cursing at the gentleman and I nearly steppedin and punched him myself
Drove an hour for this nicely advertised show. Obviously false marketing. NOT WORTH THE $26 PER CAR. $15 at most makes sense. The lights are lame lawn displays. The show was a weird edited assortment that was supposed to be 15 minutes, but was less than 10. The food was wayyyy overpriced and there wasnt much to spare after the car fee. We are leaving disappointed and with little to no Christmas joy.
Im giving this a 3 Star rating, overall because I can only recall going to Orange county fair once in my life and I was 11 years old, back in 1971, that being said, I loved everything about being there ,but whos to say, back then I was in a sleep away camp resort.. I can certainly remember the Horse shows, and Car racing, and the general attractions ,rides..
Went for 2020 holiday light show. And it was really badly done. Maybe 20 or so small 2d light setups mostly leaning on pickup trucks. And then 15 minutes of listening to christmas and or winter themed songs, Rudolf. Frosty, and 2 frozen songs. The lines after 8pm were as expected. Which is to say waiting 20+minutes for a fried oreo.I went with 3 other adults. It was a bad idea. It would still have been a bad idea with children.
Whoever did the advertising for this event clearly earned their keep. It was the saddest light show I’ve ever experienced. Could have saved my $20 and drove around my neighborhood, the outcome would have been exponentially better! Scattered lawn decorations, a “light show” that was 15 dangling strands of lights, being forced to listen to Let it Go. Just terrible. Also the radio station they tell you to tune into was nothing but static, until we were leaving. Overpriced, not worth the hour drive, and sad. So very very sad.
Purchased tickets for December 17 at 7 pm. When we showed up, every gate was locked and no lights. They apparently canceled without any notification and will not refund the ticket price. What a complete rip-off. We were trying to support local business but it seems they have little respect for paying customers.
The atmosphere was very positive, reminded me of Coney island in Brooklyn but on a smaller scale. Wonderful fair filled with lots of activities and games for the kids and young people. Live free entertainment i.e. lions and tiger show and a wide variety of food selections. Gifts, clothes and keep sake for the children and a petting zoo full with animals and birds. They offer a discount to seniors and fee admission to toddlers and infants. Plenty of parking and the road race right next to the fair. The road race is very loud and kicks up lots of dust. There were plenty of picnic tables to eat on and areas you can relax on the grass. Security was notable and there were no incidents known. Although the food variety was awesome it was pricey. I saw no signs which band bringing your own food or beverages so you may save by bringing sandwiches and your own beverages or buy a meal and share. Please call ahead ro make sure on this. There were restrooms and no long waiting lines noted for this. Overall it was a excellent experience and I plan to go again. Hope this review was helpful!
Went with family Sunday..one booth open a chicken gyro and water $14.00.Tried to get a hamburger from Jakes food truck...only egg sandwiches come back in 30 to 45 min. That was at 12.00 1:00 tried to get a fried dough..not yet, they werent ready!.Dirty, filthy overpriced, unorganized mess. All the animals looked as sorry and neglected as the carnies. The fair is embarrassing .
The service for the food, drinks the jousting w/those beautiful horses & the gator exhibit inside the big building w/the price ribbon exhibit & the small brown building w/the beautiful birds, monkeys long w/all the other beautiful animals it was great etc. Everything was great please bring back everything again next year. Please thank you.
I went to the Orange County gun and knife show on September 11th 2021..It was a great show lots of vendors and it was a good showing. Many people showed up. Everybody the vendors and customers were very nice and polite. That is the way the 2nd amendment believers are.. I could tell you there were no democrats there.. Im gonna go again in November when it comes back.
This gun and knife show is more like a flee market type of set up. There are many tables set up but most of the vendors are regular Joes. The atmosphere is totally garage sale left over feel. Good luck finding a particular item. Not worth the admission or the time. I was disappointed.

2021-07-28It was a fun night for my little girl. They didnt have enough retail shops, but the fair had plenty if concession stands and rides for the kiddies. I was very impressed that they had a huge stage set up for bands to play, and music played the whole time. Its think its totally worth taking your family.

2021-08-01My 8yr old son had a blast so thats what really counts. It was a fun night but I feel the games and tickets were over priced. The wristband for $30 was the best deal. We went to the little circus show 2x, he loved it.There was a good selection of rides for young kids so that was a plus! Overall good time.

2022-04-05I went to the 2020 Christmas lights display. It was the worst that i ever saw. You couldnt even tell what some of the lights were supposed to be. Then you go into this huge garage with about 25 to 30 cars. They close the doors with only one way out to watch a 15 -20 min of different sceans of different movies. carbon monoxide filled the room from the running cars. This is not safe at all . Save your money on this one. Like others said ride around and look at your neighborhood homes. THIS WAS AWFUL!!!

2018-07-16Moved here from Texas, and although our fairs are bigger, the longest running Fair In America had so much to offer! Endangered Siberian Tigers, well loved animals in the petting zoo, safe FUN rides for the family and great booths offering some finger licking treats!! Wonderful experience for the family! Going back again this week for the MONSTER truck show!!

2022-02-20It was ok , could be a bit more organized seperate tables and vendors buy ammo on one side and hand gun by them selfs and long arms at a different location so to have the guess moving a constant flow which I think would help in sales and comfort, so far it was a nice experience noone was out of order and everyone was nice and friendly special thx to the security team there they where also very nice that important... I will definitely return ...

2020-12-04For the holidays there is a light display. Its great because we dont go out places (because of COVID) but were able to take the kids to see Christmas decorations and a little show. Its nearby and not too expensive. I didnt take many pics. This is just a tiny sampling of the display.

2021-07-26Loved it! Its a cute hang out spot for a late summer evening. They had all kinds of food. Concession stands were everywhere. Games galore. They even had a monster truck show and mini concert. Highly recommend. My only caution is to go on a day when there will be no rain as most of it is on open grounds

2019-05-25Great place for a gun show, huge selection too. Found a great dealer and ordered my special Kel Tec shotgun. Most people didnt even know what the KS7 was.
