My family, including my dog, visited Orchard Hill Cider Mill this weekend - wowZa..! Where to begin? The team greeted us - very welcoming and accommodating. The cider tasting was reminiscent of our last visit to wine country in Sonoma - we tasted 5 and bought 3 to take home. The food was simply incredible. We were visiting from Brooklyn and enjoy eating out often. What we tasted and enjoyed surpassed our expectations! We are looking forward to our return trip - soon - Cheers..!
Service is HORRIBLE! You order off of your phone, had to ask 3 times for our drinks. Waited over an hour for our food. Food came at all different times for the same table. Food was mediocre. Worst part is they add in 18% for tip no matter the size of the party. They werent even worth a tip AT ALL! Pick your apples / peaches here but DONT EAT HERE!!!
This is a must go to venue when youre in the area! The ciders and cocktails are delicious! And the atmosphere is very welcoming with live music on a Saturday. My friends and I befriended a friend of the owners and detailed our uncomfortable abd unsafe taxi ride over. Having heard this story, the owners not only came over to make sure we were having a good time but made sure we got home safe that night! Its incredibly important to support small businesses during this time and we are so happy we were able to come here on our weekend escape from the city - would 10/10 recommend this place to my friends and come back in the future!
Quaint and cozy. Great for a day trip! There was plenty of space between tables so you dont have to worry about germs (very important these days). The food was tasty and very reasonably priced. We got the chili, chef salad and potato and leek soup. The soups were very hearty; there were cubed peices of beef in the chili. And the chefs salad included fresh prosciutto which was a nice addition. There were some gluten free options as well.We also got the beer flight ($10) which included 5 samples. It helped us decide which beers to buy in the attached storefront. As the waitress explained, their ciders have no added water so that gives them a higher alcohol content. They were delicious! My personal fav was the red label cider which is made like a champagne. We loved the farmers market next door which had plenty of treats, fresh produce and frozen pastas, meats and pre-made foods. Gluten free options available in there as well.We even got a visit from the shop dog (such a cutie). This was a great little place and we will definitely be back.
This review is long past due. I have been coming here for about a year now and have never been disappointed. All the cocktails are spot on and the staff is really some of the best/interesting people to get to know. The ciders are definitely something to make a trip here for. They have an amazing pommeau! They have a new seating area that is great for parties or large crowds. The best thing about this place is how each cocktail on the menu has its own characteristics.Overall, I highly recommend this place if youre looking for tasty drinks, great conversation, and a good time.
Enjoyed our lunch, steps from the farmers market @ Soons Orchard’s in New Hampton @ Orchid Hill, who serve Bruch, Lunch and Dinner. There is our second visit—I think we are eating our way through the menu. The food is terrific. The best surprise and experience are the fabulous drink creations by Donnan, who brings you on vacation and exotic fun—yeah , right here in Wawayanda, New Hampton. Pine Island has the “Black Dirt” - we have Orchid Hill! Please save me a table.
Ive visited Soons since I was a child. And theyve only expanded and improved over the years. With a beautiful new outdoor area right next to thier new building for adults to enjoy. Or the classic pumpkin rides, and other outdoor amenities for the kids to enjoy like always, its not only a great place to spend a few hours but safe as well with thier ample space to social distance. Great place to take a date or the kids on a weekend Or any day of the week.
On arrival all looked very nice, the market is good although small and with current co vid bit on top of each other. The tap house was a let down. Had to move inside because they wanted to accommodate a larger group outside even though they arrived way after us. And I was extremely disappointed with the cider flights.. if there was a mouthful of cider I would be suprised!!! And then to watch other servers take full flight cups out did make me feel annoyed. So I guess for best service you have to go in large groups. Mmmmm
I loved my time at Orchard Hill! First and foremost, the cider was delicious. I did a tasting before ending the night with a glass of the dry cider, which was my favorite. Highly recommend doing the tasting to get a sense of what you prefer. Besides the cider, there was great music (and acoustics), hearty sausages for the cold night and friendly people. Will definitely be back!
Parking was a bit of a challenge because there is a circle. If you are coming down 17m and the orchard is on your right, you are better off going around to the far entrance. People are quite friendly and cocktails are nice. Overall nice people and good times to be had here.
Great customer service. There very personable, the owner was amazing down to earth and very welcoming! They have local bands playing with a great atmosphere that welcomes everyone. This is a definite place to bring friends and family! A must visit location of the Hudson Valley!
Great cider selection as well as all kinds of wines and hard alcohols from the region. There is a $5 tasting and you get to try 4 ciders as well as an apple brand. On Friday and saturday nights there is a speakeasy with a late night menu and live music, I would highly recommend the cheese board!
No detail is left out. From the lighting and the woodwork. The atmosphere it creates makes a tasting or a nightime out a wonderful experiance. I like the fact that they offer different tastings not only of their products but other local products as well. I cannot wait for them to finish construction. I am sure the final result will be amazing

2022-02-11I highly recommend this Cidery. The cider is wonderful, the cocktails are delicious, the space is beautiful, and everyone inside is very welcoming and knowledge. We did the cider tasting- so tasty, it is a true testament to the taste of the NY apple. Not too sweet, very refreshing, and lots of flavor. They have some champagne style ciders which i also loved, great option for those who like a little more funk and flavor.I also tried the gin and tonic cocktail (pictured) which utilizes HOUSE MADE tonic in addition to cider and is probably the best g&t I’ve ever had. They allowed our dog indoors- though i don’t know if this is standard or if it was a kind gesture due to the fact that we were the only customers at opening time (12 pm) on a Friday. Either way, they are pet friendly and have a patio to accommodate. They also have food if you’re hungry.Highly recommend this place!

2021-10-11Charming atmosphere. Helpful staff. Got the flight of cider and was delighted by trying all the types. My favorite was the Verde.Got the BLT which was very good. The prosciutto sandwich has way too much prosciutto with a very big roll. Not worth it.Their regular apple cider is very very good.

2020-10-09Great tasting room and outdoor seating. I recommend the cider sampler to taste different types of adult ciders. The service was great and the atmosphere is the best, especially during the fall or spring when the weather is best. The Soons store next door should definitely be visited, take home the fresh cider and some apple cider donuts. Say hi to Hudson the doggo for me.

2022-06-05Located at Soons farm nice atmosphere, good ciders and cocktails, live music at times. As of June 2022, they are serving brunch. By pure chance we were there for the soft opening and the food was terrific

2018-10-14This is a nice addition to the community. It gives me the similar feel of the tasting rooms and Central California area--Monterey and San Louis Obispo Counties. I tried their types of cider. Although I am definitely a sweet wine and cider personally, this was pretty good. What was a big bonus that they have live music and a limited menu for those who would like to have real food. And if you want to kick it up a knotch, you can bring along some of the delicious fruits or donuts from the Soons Orchard before the store closes.

2019-11-03I left frustrated that the guy giving tastings kept ignoring us and focusing the descriptions and information towards the couple at the bar. When we paid to do the tasting I asked if we should bring chairs to the bar where I saw a couple was and he said that it didn’t matter where we sat so we just sat at a table. We wanted to go to our next stop and get somewhere before sundown but he kept leaving us waiting and not presenting the next taste in a timely fashion. Additionally, we could hear him explaining more about the samples to this couple at the bar and when he would finally come and address us he gave little more than the names of what we were drinking.Skip this place and get on with your day elsewhere.
