First, this is an unsolicited review. Weve been with orkin for 5 years for termite service. I just want to thank Chris Rowe from the Latham office for a positive experience with our annual inspection. There were a few small issues and I had a few concerns, he took care of everything, even returning as soon as the following day to tie up the loose ends and install two brand new stations where we were unable to locate them (we bought the house with the service in place), which other employees had been unwilling to do in the past. Im sorry I didnt catch the name of the gentleman he was working with, they were both top notch professional. After some less than positive experiences other years not being able to find all the stations and being told incorrect information, I finally had a truly positive experience as a customer and will continue with orkin.
Orkins customer service is absolute garbage. The extermination service (8/14) was barely mediocre, so much so that I ended up being the one to supply the materials and, eventually, take care of the problem myself with no help from Orkin. But thats not the worst part. I was told I could cancel the transaction within 3 days, so I called on Monday (8/16) to ask how it worked. After explaining my situation to Patti on the phone, I was rudely told shed have her supervisor contact me. By Wednesday (8/18) I still hadnt heard back, so I called to check in to be told that no one had ever made a note in my account to call me back. I was offered a new service, which I declined and requested a refund, which only the local office can provide. I was told Id get a call within 24-48 hours. I waited for two days and after the weekend I called again (8/23), this time extremely frustrated. After being on the phone for about 40 minutes, I was finally transferred to a call center supervisor who put me in touch with someone at the local office, Zachary. He again told me that he would look into a refund and call me back within 24-48 hours. AGAIN, I never heard back and called again on Thursday (8/26). Zachary told me he could offer me a 50% refund, but at this point it was an insulting offer considering the fact that I still have half a wasps nest in my living room. I told him absolutely not and asked to speak to a manager, and he said the manager wasnt on site but he would call me back. So AGAIN I waited, and I called again today (8/30) after not hearing from anyone. Zachary again told me there was no manager on site, which seems ridiculous to manage a business but never be there. I told him that I would be waiting on hold this time until I spoke to someone, and he magically was able to solve my issue this time. The fact that it took two weeks and five phone calls just to resolve this issue was atrocious and I will never use Orkin again for any services I may need in the future.
Technician left without coming into the home. I called Jeff and he had the tech return to finish the job. Also, I call the local Orkin office in the Albany area 2 times to confirm this appointment and left messages to return my call. There was never any response. Not on time, did not treat common areas as listed on invoice. The rep was not going to treat the second and third bedroom until I insisted. I was advised the tenants would have to leave the apartment for four hours, but the service person said they didnt need to leave, so Im confused add to what service they performed. I called and was told a service manager would call me about my concerns, but no one has called.
We have been swarmed by mosquitoes at my home and finally reached my limit. I called Orkin and they were able to schedule an appointment the same day.Michael came out and was able to evaluate and treat the problems areas, as well as answer all of my questions.Im looking forward to actually getting to enjoy my back yard without worrying about being eaten alive.
I had called over the past week 3 times. I had an appointment scheduled for Wednesday. THEY NEVER CAME. I called thursday to to find out what happened and reschedule. I had to speak to 3 different representatives. They rescheduled me again for this past Friday. Once again they never came. This is the most UNPROFESSIONAL business I have ever encountered. I would never recommend them to anyone. They do not live up to the standard they claim to have.
Techs are awesome, customer service reps are polite. The process of getting to a customer service rep regarding my account or rescheduling an appointment however is horrible. I dont ned to call them a lot, but when I do its always a headache getting through to the correct person.
We have had this service for under a year. Initially, Orkins service was excellent and very thorough, however, the tech just left the house and we are completely disappointed and will most likely cancel the service. We have repeatedly requested that Orkin let us know when they will be sending a tech to the house, they have yet to do so, which leaves us with no notice when theyll be treating the premises. We also requested that they send the same person for our service, that also hasnt happened. Today, for instance, the tech, one of many, came, unannounced as usual, didnt even treat the inside of the house. He didnt even let us know he was finished treating the house, he just left, leaving our garage door open on a 36 degree day. Really, the more I write the more upset I feel. Dan, the man who set up the service was great, and the original service tech, Daniel, was thorough, clean and personable. The service has steadily gone downhill after these initial people were here. So after thousands of dollars and very disappointing service calls, Orkin will be losing our business.
Chris is the company. He is out of commission for awhile but we hope he gets well soon. The other technician that is taking Chris’s place showed up two hours early as I did get a text he was on his way but never made it home to let him in our backyard but luckily someone was home. Not too keen on that and my wife told the technician to place the invoice in our mailbox which we did not get. I had to call company twice but overall the service was good.
I called Orkin after a very bad experience with another company. The results speak for them selves. My original problem was completely resolved after a few visits. This was a very big relief. The bee situation was done after the first visit.The service is excellent. The technicians are very knowledgeable, go right to work. The customer rep. is very easy to work with and they have a variety of plans to choose from.I highly recommend this company to anyone.
They never return calls. Had to cancel because no one in the local office ever returns calls after multiple calls to the national call center.Waiting on a refund if I don’t receive it today or a call filing a claim with my bank.IF YOU WANT NON RESPONSE AND HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE GO WITH THIS COMPANY
The person conducting the inspection was very professional. However, Orkin paperwork indicated that the appointment was confirmed. I had not heard from Orkin in over a year. I have repeatedly asked to be notified so that I could be home when the inspection (outdoor and indoor) is taking place. My request is noted by the office and then ignored. The professional at my home yesterday noted my request. Perhaps Orkin will honor it in the future.
Honestly the whole experience was pretty easy! I saw a cockroach in the kitchen of my new home I just bought! Was so freaked out. Didn’t have to hold long on the phone when I first called in, and the person I spoke with was very helpful and clear. They came out the next morning and checked everything out, explained everything to me and sprayed and placed baits etc. it was quick and now I have some peace of mind!
Customer service-centric, knowledgeable, kind/empathetic, professional and effective. Bill is what service companies, particularly in these dangerous times, need to meet the never ending brand building core character values. I thought he did a great job of listening, learning, thoroughly investigating my unique problem and then thoughtfully advising me of a plan to move toward success. Outstanding representative. Orkin is lucky to have him and he surely exceeded my expectations.
Quoted me $374.00 for a 10ft area because I have a 3 bedroom house when the service would have nothing to do with the bedrooms or the size of the house. I recommend Fox Pest Control because the customer service was way more friendly and wasn’t concerned with the size my house, just the area that needed to be treated. I signed up for a program that sends a service tech every 3 months to guarantee their service for a price was less than half of what Orkin quoted me at. Orkin is a greedy company in my opinion and the woman on the phone hung up on me when I politely said no thanks.
I really loved how everyone I spoke with about the issue I was having, was very knowledgeable, understanding, and patient. I would recommend this company to everyone, even if you just have questions and are curious on how to remedy the situation.Chris is the individual that has been serving our house from Orkin and I must say that he is absolutely awesome! He is very knowledgeable and realistic about remedying situations and coming up with prevention methods. I would recommend him to any and everyone.
They used to be great but now they constantly change my appointment or don’t show up or even call. I spent at least an hour this month calling and calling and the person I spoke with was condescending saying she was trying to accommodate me when it was she who changed my appointment not the other way around!
Making an appointment is very easy and I never have to wait for an appointment. I am very happy with how quick and effective the spray is with our bee problem, we could see it working almost immediately after the first spray. The staff is always very friendly and great at answering our questions and addressing our concerns.
Not happy with the service. I had called Orkin to reschedule the service as I was not available. I was told that they would reschedule. As a matter of fact the service was not rescheduled and they took care of outside perimeter. I wanted them to work inside the house. Tried to call Orkin for the appointment. Could not get hold of anybody on phone.
We were very pleased that you were able to fit us in today. Our service was wonderful. She actually found the huge spider that was the reason for our call. She also explained everything carefully as she performed our treatment and then when she completed our paperwork. Thank you.
Booking agent was friendly and fast. As soon as next day. Unfortunately the person who came to do the service was not as helpful. No initial inspection, no explaining the process, not much customer service at all. I had to make four more call to get someone to give me details on the product, procedure and follow up. The manager was quick to help though. Im reserving final judgment until another tech comes to complete the work.
The person who arrived had no idea what service was to be performed. I told him the barn needed to be sprayed inside and out for carpenter ants. He was in and out of the barn in 5 minutes, Im not even sure he did the loft area as I was speaking with a contractor when he arrived. He was ready to leave when I reminded him he was supposed to do the outside. Previous personnel told us what precautions to take after spraying, he did not.
Orkin provides useful materials and trained staff. But it is primarily the service person that makes the difference. In our case Chris does a great job. For a while the company was sending a new person every service call. If that continue we would have cancelled our contract. We have come to trust having Chris in our home and he knows exactly what to do and where to look. I would encourage building those relationships between the service person and the homeowners.
Mike Fitzpatrick is our Orkin guy, and he always does an extremely thorough job. He listens and is attentive to all of our concerns. He goes the extra mile when it comes to his customers, and offers helpful suggestions, ideas and treatments for continued success. Look no further for excellent customer service!
We recently had an emergency situation in which a huge bee population invading our home from the attic and bathroom ceiling. We called Orkin and explained the situation. Within hours their Field Tech, Michael Fitzpatrick, was at our home taking care of the problem and reassuring us that everything was going to be fine. Michael, Orkins call center and local field office did and outstanding job in an emergency situation which we very much appreciate.Thank you very much
Front office and technician were wonderful in giving us 24 hours notice of their visit per our request so that we knew when to have our dogs out of the yard. The outdoor treatment seems to have worked as we are bug-less. Did not interact with technician this time around, but he is always friendly, accommodating, & diligent.
Awful experience. The inspector was great but then 5 days later, no one was communicating with me to schedule the treatment. I called, asking when we could do that, and Jason told me were a 3.2 billion dollar company. Like thats a reason to not communicate? So rude. Rather go with a small business if thats their attitude.
Was notified by text less than 24 hrs of appointment. Tried to call and reschedule. But with such short notice I was only able to connect with the voicemail. I let them know I needed to reschedual but I got a text this morning that they have arrived and completed my service. But I wasnt there so they can only do the out side and its raining so they cant really spray. Another annoyance is they dont really care about your schedule. I have to constantly call the office up and remid them I can only have the service certain days and times. They reassure me they will note that in my file and the next month they scheduled the service for when ever and it doesnt work for me.The product is great and I have no problems with bugs and mice. But getting them to my house on my schedule is hard.
They were personable, professional and extremely wise combining knowledge with many years of experience.They did the estimate and the job very quickly 24-48 hours and gave a complete report with pictures. I needed a small favor above and beyond there scope and they were happy to do it with a smile.
Chris and Bill were a wonderful, professional team today. Orkin has proven to be much more than a pest maintenance company but a strategic problem-solving outfit as well. Personable, reliable, and professional. We are happy to be long-time customers and recommend them highly.
Today the guys from Orkin came to my moms house and hooked us up by spraying our entire place for carpenter bees, as well as making sure all areas were sealed so no reoccurring pests would be able to breech back into the roof. They were quick, inexpensive and courteous.. Very professional. Definitely would use and recommend their services anytime.
This was a worthless service. The inspector came out and laid a plan, but after that it was all downhill. The technician was told a 4 hour time window for the first treatment, while I was told a two hour window, so we had to reschedule. After that, the technician that came was asking me about the treatment plan, as he apparently did not have the plan the inspector put together. The only reason for sending out an inspector I could see was to justify the $500 setup fee. After that, I never received an email or phone regarding the monthly followup service. On reaching out, I was told that they already came for the first monthly followup and only did an outside treatment on Chrismas Eve since I never responded. However, I received no phone call or email. The customer service representative insisted they did come out, and when I pushed them I was told that they have tracking on their trucks, they definitely did come out and they would check there logs to prove it. Well, a couple days later they refunded the followup service that they charged me for but never really happened, as they apparently also proved to themselves. From customer service to pest control this was a mess, and Im still out $500, which in the best scenario means I have no mice but that Orkin left the traps for the mice to rot in.
We have been so pleased with the service we have received from Orkin, especially with the service provided by Jack Slaver. He not only does a thorough job but always good above and beyond-- is extremely accommodating. He is also sery pleasant and thoughtful. Its always a pleasure to see him. In all the years weve been with Orkin, Jack has been the best service provider. Thanks Jack!!!! 😂
Our service man was nearly two hours late. We have a general pest control seasonal contract. Typically, the serviceman who comes knows exactly what to do has a plan of action and hits every room in the house. He would explain what he was using and what hes put down. However this morning the serviceman had very little to say and seemed as though he did not know what he should be doing in our home. I had to ask for the windows to be sprayed, mice traps to be laid down, and ants to be dealt with in the kitchen. These are all services that have been provided in the past. I would have assumed that the servicemen would have looked at what was done in the past to make sure that was followed up on todays visit, but that was not the case. He commented on the cleanliness of our attic, Its very dirty up there, then paused for my comment or response I wasnt sure how to respond to that specially since it seemed irrelevant to the wasp problem that we are dealing with up there. Im a mother of three children under the age of 2 years old, . the serviceman seemed annoyed by the toys in the living room and our baby gates. I did have alternate childcare for my children this morning for an hour and a half, but because the servicemen was almost 2 hours late the kids were back home with me, therefore the gates had to be up for their safety. I am missing our original serviceman, Eli. I am sad to hear hes no longer with the company. I hope to have a more professional and personable serviceman in the future.
They never treat the upstairs apartment. We have to tell them every time. One time, the guy came and put a little squirt of stuff under a kitchen cabinet and left. Every time they leave, they never schedu the next appointment. I have to call every time. I feel like its a very expensive service for the little amount of stuff they do, and I hate having to remind them to treat upstairs, and to do the bedrooms, and to schedule future appointments. I shouldnt have to do that!
This service is done at our vacation home so typically this service is done while we are not at the residence. This time we happened to be there and met the tech face to face and quickly learned he was very polite professional and has a bubbly personality. He went about his business without interfering with our day.Nice job Orkin
Chris has been our primary service tech for 2 years now. He is always willing to address any pest questions or concerns and demonstrates the knowledge on how best to treat problem areas. He is always very patient and takes the time needed to complete the job thoroughly. He is always very respectful of our family, pets and property. Thank you Chris!
Last night, while home with my two small children and while my husband was out of town, I discovered an extreme carpenter ant infestation. As a person who admittedly is not a bug person, I was rife with anxiety and distress, especially knowing the situation required me alone, to resolve it. I called several local pest services and none of them were responsive, except for Orkin. The representative very gently eased my anxiety by explaining the likely issue, probable solutions and finally, scheduled an appointment for the very next morning. After the call, I felt safe and secure knowing that not only were my children safe, but the problem would be addressed in less than 12 hours. I was able to sleep soundly last night thanks to his very kind support.Today, the technician who arrived at our home thoroughly inspected our home, determined the problem and explained all of the above in a way that was direct and easy to understand. Then, your technician treated the issue and provided my family with the security in knowing that your company was, essentially, in our corner to rid our home of these pests. This gentleman, like the last, was exceptional in the service and security that he provided to my family.As a new Orkin customer, I couldnt have been more pleased with the service provided last night and this morning. In an incredibly short amount of time, they not only addressed our pest issue, but calmed the nerves of a worried Mom, and for the latter, we are most grateful.Thank you for your help and we are so glad to have you keeping our home pest free!Christina Calabrese
The service level is very good, especially the additional mitigation of bee, wasp, and hornet nests service. Our techs have been very polite, knowledgeable, professional, and punctual.Their ability to control field mice is a work in progress. We havent had a carpenter ant infestation since entering into the quarterly service. We continue to fight stink bugs & bees.
From start to finish, this was a quick and efficient process. The two gentleman that did the work were polite, informative, let me know each step of the process and left the house spotless ! Worked long days to get it done and went above and beyond ! Would definitely recommend Orkin!
I was plugged into the right outfit from the start. After one phone call, the inspector came to my residence, listened to my concerns, and wrote up a proposal of work to be done to solve my pest problems. Step two, the Wildlife Exclusion Specialist came to my house and installed the necessary rodent barriers in a efficient and professional manner while answering all my questions about installation details. The work was good, the communication was good, the price was good. Do yourself a favor —— hire these people.
The technician is fine. What is not working is receiving multiple centrally generated emails regarding appointment date and time that differ from each other and ultimately none of the times are correct. It would be much better to get an email from the local office with the correct appointment information.
Everyone has been very professional. I have used Orkin at another location for termites. Their bait system works excellent. I expect similar results at this location for a problem with flies and wasps.Wasps are tenacious. They keep coming back. Orkin is very good about responding and re-spraying problem areas.
When we bought our house we were infested with wasps, mice, and ants. Orkin found the wasp nest behind the siding of my house and treated it, then sealed it up. I no longer have wasps. They also replaced the insulation in my attic with treated insulation and I no long have mice. Every spring they come and treat my kitchen and the perimeter of the house and I have minimal ant issues. I love how they have always met my needs quickly and they are very professional. I highly recommend them. No matter what pest issues you have, they will take care of it.
I’m a new client. My tenant has a mouse problem and an Orkin representative came tonight to evaluate the problem and begin work. He told me his plan of attack, confirmed that he would not use any substances or traps where a child could gain access, and he made me feel confident that this issue could be managed.
Orkin provided a great inspection service. Shane Linn and the company were expedicious in their evaluation of my home and its needs. Updating me on the spot with specific details and solutions for preventitive rodent control. I have full confidence that my home is in good hands. Thank you Orkin!
Carla in the office is absolutely amazing and is always able to schedule service quickly and conveniently. Shane is a rockstar and has helped us get rid of every mouse and ant! Other providers were never able to eradicate or resolve our critter problem...Thank You, Shane!!!!
Rich was thorough and knowledgeable. He took the time to explain the habits of the pests I needed to exterminate and how he was going to address that. He was thorough in his work, and committed to coming back in a week to evaluatevery the effectiveness of the treatment.Rich was personable and professional.

2022-05-13I had an appointment scheduled between 12 & 2 and unfortunately I didn’t hear from a technician until almost 4 o’clock. The technician was great and seemed very knowledgeable and thorough. I am very disappointed that the states orkin system issues caused him to be more than two hours late (he was unable to see where his appointments were located). Orkin charges more than their competitors and I expect if I schedule an appointment and they are unable to make it, someone should call and let me know. I called the office multiple times and no one answered I left a message and never received a call back. At this point I’ve signed on for a year contract so if the problem persists I will move on to another company.

2022-08-10Cloth and pantry moth extermination/ pest control in progress to date and mouse issue clean up in basement was done. All on going work with Orkin.Michael, our moth pest control professional is helpful with communication since he started. But again, I am waiting for results as process takes time and patience with moths.They are very busy with appointments and I can appreciate that. Call backs to confirm appointment can take time. But appointments once made are kept.Nice job on assistance with plugs for mice issue in basement. I misunderstood initially some information but was contacted by Orkin and relieved to get clarification. Hard working staff on our basement and it looks good.Will update again as moth pest control progresses.Glad that started looking into pest control management for my home. I was so worried about the pest issues and Orkin has been understanding as customers can be upset when facing such situations.So far I am hopeful that this service is going to work out for both pest concerns and will update my review once times shows anticipated results based on services.

2022-07-11We used their services to get rid of bees. The bees weren’t exterminated and we couldn’t go outside. After a couple weeks I called for them to come back and they didn’t reply. They didn’t come 2 of the times when they said that they did (I wfh and they didn’t show up). I finally got through to someone after calling several times and asked for a refund. They said yes. I received a bill a month afterwards for $500. I have called their billing dept 5-7 times (and left messages) to straighten it out our bill and I haven’t received a call back.

2022-01-10This was a new person who came. Friday I was suppose to get the service and waited an extra half hour for the technician to come. No one showed up. I called and was told the technician called in sick. I was never informed. Today the person who came was very rude in addressing what I normally get done. He did not spray properly all the window areas for bugs and said I don’t want to stain furniture with it. My understanding from previous technician was that this spay is non toxic and doesn’t stain. This technician seemed to believe it’s toxic and I didn’t have him continue with the spray. He called me at 12:10 for 3:30 appointment if he could come. I told him I’m working from home and he has to wait. He was very adamant for me to accommodate his schedule. I did let him come at 2:45 but again my husband and I had to adjust our work schedule. In the past Orkin service has been great, but within the last year I’m not seeing the courtesy nor quality service I was receiving before.

2022-02-01The guys came to my home at around 10 am. They were friendly and professional. They sealed up my house and set traps up to get rid of my bat(s). Aesthetically it looks very nice. It’s middle of winter so we’ll know more as it warms up.

2022-04-30I paid $355 for mouse traps and sticky mats. They didnt plug the holes where the mice are getting iim as they stated they would. There was no extermination whatsoever. Now I have a mouse stuck to a sticky mat and they wont come out to take care of it because it is a weekend. .I couldve gone to Lowes and spent $20 on the cheap mouse traps they provided. What did I get for the money I spent?Fix my problem!
