The seats are great but thats it everything is overpriced and the heat is subpar at best we didnt know it would be the same temperature as it was outside in the middle of winter very disappointing to take small children to for the first time and not enjoy the movie because we were freezing
It could use a lot more work. Even the new seats are breaking and not being fixed. The bathroom is 🤮🤮🤮. The prices of their refreshments are ridiculous, especially if you have 4 kids. Drop the candy prices and people won’t bring it in from somewhere else and you’ll actually make more money.🤷🏻♀️ We always get nachos or popcorn, and I never used to bring candy because I thought it was trashy, but they really jacked up the prices. A water is like $4.00. That’s insane. My kids love going to the movies, and they don’t care at all about any of those things obviously, so it’s good enough for them. But if I were going to go to an adult movie, I’d drive to a better theatre. ✌🏽
A little run down and last decade. However the movie experiences I’ve had have been superb, the snacks are priced as expected and the quality of the movies is average with most of not all of the theater rooms have comfortable reclining seats. Worth my time and have gone several times and will continue to.
Affordable, well run and friendly.. theatre 7 and maybe others are lit up wayyy too much for a theatre tho. You guys should really dim the lights for movies..I feel like I watched spiderman outside during the day.. there was literally light reflection and shadows cast on the screen the entire time. .
The employees there make you feel welcomed. The night staff lets you wait until the very end of the credits to see if theres any spoilers even though theyre probably wanting to go home. The snacks are expensive, but what movie theatre isnt! All in all. Never once had a bad experience there :)
The new seats in the select movie viewing rooms are super comfortable! I love how you can view the lovely paintings on the walls from eras gone by. They jazzed up the outside, but the downstairs ladies bathroom could use some sprucing up or at least fix the hanging ceiling tile, eww.
I love this theater. It is comfortable, and MUCH more affordable than most theaters. I am a part if the free VIP program and earned a free small popcorn after just two visits, compared to high prices theaters who rarely earn you anything with their rewards programs. A great place to bring your family!
What a gorgeous theater! Although it is aging, the historic beauty shines through. All the downstairs theaters have cushy reclining seats for exceptional comfort, and they are big enough for the largest guests. They also provide a sense of privacy, like youre seeing the movie on a huge seem in your own living room. Check out the reduced-price tickets all day on Tuesday, and before noon on other days. The staff here is always friendly and helpful.
Good, reasonably priced place to see current films. Some of the theatres really deserve a 3 star looking older and worn while others are updated and even have reclining seats. The mens rooms could stand to be updated but the popcorn and candy are reasonably priced. Overall a decent place to go.
Saw the new Spider-Man movie on December 26 2021 movie looked good on the screen and audio was good but it was not good that during the credits the staff was telling the audience what the mid credits scene was going to be and then told us to leave so they could clean up and go home since it was the last showing for the night.
This beautiful, historical building is the perfect mix of nostalgia and modernization. Theyve kept the beautiful art deco Accenture and murals whilst also integrating the necessities of a modern theater. They have wonderful roomy reclining seats that have foot rests and still room to get past should you want to get up and go somewhere while others in your row are fully reclining.Unfortunately, second floor, is not handicap accessible and it really the gem of the historical architectural design for the building. Big picture: The building is beautiful, the prices are the lowest around, especially for first release movies, the food is fresh and the employees seem to care about their providing a quality experience.
This upstate chain is known for their lower ticket prices. Around $9 per adult for matinees. Oswego 7 comes from 7 different theaters. Theater 2 is by far the best. Big comfy, reclining chairs and a nice big screen with no ones head blocking the screen lol. The downside being very poor speakers. The dialogue is sometimes too low or muffled to comprehend. Then the bass in music will make them rattle. The upstairs theater is cramped and out dated. I havent gotten a chance to go into the smaller theaters but Ive heard they have recliners as well. Typical concession quality, the popcorn and icees arent bad. Only go here if you know your movie is showing in a good theater.
First let me say I love this theater. Its by far my favorite and I always go here. The prices are great, comfy reclining chairs (downstairs), and the overall build of it is very nice. Now, why 3 stars? The upstairs theaters are APPALLING I mean most cramped, uncomfortable, miserable place to sit and watch a movie. If they revamped the upstairs 5 stars all day, for now, stick to downstairs theaters.
This theater wants children during a childs movie to be absolutely quiet. They have a strict stay quiet policy, I am told. This is for the convenience of a 65 year old man attending the movie alone. According to the manager, he paid too. So if you have children that laugh or ask the inevitable question during the movie, stay clear of this NOT FAMILY FRIENDLY THEATER!
Very nice place. I really like the XL Power recliners. The $5.00 admission before 12pm is a great value, and the similar $5.00 Tuesdays admissions is also a great value (not available for all movies it says to check with the cashier on this). I also want to mention that the upstairs large theater does not have the XL Power Recliner chairs, just the old style regular seats, which are hard for big people to fit in. To avoid this problem check the website to see if *VIP seating (highlighed in red) is available for the movie you want to see, this will tell you if the XL Recliners are in the theater your movie is playing in. The website is Oswego Cinema 7, in the website you can view movie trailers, see movie schedules, & see upcoming movie releases, also you can purchase tickets online as well.
Seats in the downstairs theatres are very nice. However presale tickets and tickets purchased at the door were in the same line. The line ended at the concession stand where snacks were bought with tickets. To be honest we did watch frozen 2 which is the most popular movie.
Extremely rude and wouldn’t let a couple friends and I into the theater because we were a couple months underage. my mother had bought the tickets and gave us permission in front of the EXTREMELY RUDE WORKER (sorry, had to exaggerate a bit because i’m frustrated) but they still refused to let us see the movie. sorry that your expectations weren’t met but I was not pleased with how we were treated in the long run.
We celebrated our grandsons 7th birthday at the Oswego Cinema. The staff was very friendly and we had plenty of room to have cake and open gifts upstairs. The price per child was very affordable and it included the movie and a snack tray with a drink(each child had a choice of drink) and popcorn. We saw the movie HOME and the seats were so comfy and the theater was so clean. We had a great time. Would recommend it to any parent looking for a great place to have their childs party.
The Oswego theater is located in a very safe and nice little city. Its a joy to go there. The staff that work there are very pleasant. The new lounge seatings are awesome. Location excellent . The prices are fair. We go just about every week sometimes twice. They always have up-to-date movies and good selections.
It is amazing how different the experience is between the upstairs and downstairs.Downstairs I leave after the movie thinking that was the best theatre Ive been in.Upstairs I leaving feeling like I was in some rundown dump.I think its been long enough. Please remodel the upstairs. The seats dont even have to be as nice as downstairs but they seriously need an upgrade.Tonight was the second time in a row I walked out instead of buying a ticket. Im getting to the point where its worth it to drive to Syracuse and not even bother trying Oswego 7.
Card machine was down so cash only. Popcorn was stale, theater was filthy, and the projector wouldn’t play so we spent a half hour listening to our movie without being able to see it before being told the projector was broken. Finally we had to request cash refund because they wanted to issue us a vouchers instead. The customer service was awful.
If I could give zero review I would. Starting with the programming. The second weekend the Joker is in theaters they put it upstairs in the 100 year old back breaking seats (room is completely packed), as opposed to downstairs in the large theater where the comfortable seats are. What are they playing in the large theater? Gemini Man, which is on track to be a box office flop, while Joker is set to take the weekend again, but it would be too much for them to consider this. This actually happens pretty consistently. Not to mention the projector is usually cropped or cut off so you’re missing the bottom third of the screen. I’d say pay a little extra and go to the RPX or IMAX in Syracuse.
Its a pretty beat up old place, but guess that makes it historic. Aside from the cosmetic stuff, the staff are always friendly and quick, the prices are very reasonable, and a couple of the theatres have some of the comfiest chairs Ive ever sat in. They could do with some investment to cover water damage on the ceiling and chipped paint in the bathrooms, but its always clean and the cosmetic stuff doesnt matter once the lights dim.
I Love Oswego Cinema 7 Its An Way Past Amazing And Way Past Awsome Movie Theater To Go See Movies At In Oswego New York In Upstate New York No Matter If All And Every Single One Of You Are Visiting And Staying In Oswego New York In Upstate New York Or No Matter If Any Of All And Every Single One Of You Are Living In Oswego New York In Upstate New York Please Take My Advice All And Every Single One Of You 😁
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE OUR THEATRE !!! So PROUD of the artdeco upstairs & main cinemas- I could just sit for hours looking at everything with its beautiful architecture !!! Secretly, I wish every THEATRE IN THERE HAD THE LEATHER LAZYBOY CAIRS (& kept a few for nostalgic feel)! Also- NEED TO GET A PHONE # OR AFTER YOUR MESSAGES CAN TALK TO A REAL PERSON! There are just some questions that can be answered in less than a minutes time& you could make a lot more $$$! One more thing- NEED a Stair chair for people who are disabled. Other than that-I LOVE OUR THEATRE MUSEUM!
I visit oswego cinema quite often seats in downstairs theater all recline so if movie is not the greatest you can comfortably fall asleep, prices for movies are under ten bucks, popcorn is great ,the theater itself is nostalgic ,reminds me of theaters of the past, then Oswego has great variety of restaurants and a lot going on. Being 45 minutes from syracuse is a relaxful small city
A little dingey and some of the auditoriums are really oddly spaced. I could hear the adjacent theatres film booking throughout the drama I was watching. Itll do but its not my favorite place to go to see a film. The process are typical of a multiplex if not slightly less expensive than typical.
Oswego 7 movie theater is way awsome and they show way past triple more than awsome movies that come to there theater that are worth paying the money to go see the movies that are playing there I Love Oswego 7 theater trust Oswego 7 theater you all will love the reclining very very comfortable seats you all wont want to get out of there very very comfortable reclining seats

2022-04-22Staff was great. Seating was very comfortable. Pricing was reasonable. However, the bathrooms havent been updated in 30 years and the towel dispenser doesnt work, the doors dont lock and the water doesnt work without holding it with one hand. One of the reclining chairs doesnt recline. But again, overall, its great for the cost.

2022-06-14Price was great! We have a larger family and this place was very affordable. Nice comfy seats. The sound could be better and the film machine was making a squeaky noise. (Theater 5) which was annoying. Definitely will be going again!

2022-02-20Great place to see a movie. The theaters are older but it reminds me of when I was younger. Sometimes that little bit of nostalgia is nice. If you want state of the art movie theaters this is not for you. If you want an inexpensive place to take your family for a movie this place will do the trick.

2022-02-19I Love Oswego Cinema. They Always Have Great Selection of Movies to Choose from to Watch. And who Doesnt like to sit in comfort to watch a Movie! They have Awesome Recliners! Only Problem with them is I ALWAYS end up Falling Asleep and Missing over Half of the Movie. My 3 Teenage Sons Are ALWAYS having to Nudge Me & There Father. Cause We Cant EVER Stay Awake. I Swear Those Recliners Are Cursed! 😆😂

2021-10-21Comfy recliner chairs, friendly staff, art deco historic building, and cool new sign. Need to improve a bit the sound system and the fresco art on the ceilings deserves to be preserved.
