The staff at this facility should be absolutely ashamed of themselves. I’ve never seen such gross negligence and abuse of power at a medical center. My close friend came in around 230pm, it’s 1233 am and she has yet to be seen. She’s been suffering in pain that comes with kidney stones for days now. It finally hit its peak and they still hadn’t passed, so she decided to be seen. (This is not her first experience with kidney stones, she’s had to have surgery in the past.)They are not at all taking her seriously or even trying to treat her.I absolutely pity the individual(s) who will inevitably end up losing their life due to the malpractice and absolute unfathomable negligence of this hospital. It’s only a matter of time before that scenario becomes a reality. Maybe it will at least invoke some much over needed change/staff overhaul.. until then, DO NOT WASTE YOUR VALUABLE TIME HERE.

Went in last month because I was having issues breathing, the nurse told me that they didn’t think it was a respiratory issue after continuing to ask me about any mental illnesses, then asked why I didn’t take medication for said illnesses, when I said I didn’t they said “why? Just didn’t want to?” When I said I didn’t take any medication for not being able to breathe, said “why? Just didn’t want to?” Turns out the doctor said it was upper respiratory infection, not sure exactly what it was because I’m still sick after a month & a half. Overall, terrible experience. The staff is extremely rude, I suggest going to wellnow

This place is a joke. All these reviews are spot on. I was there today and all I can do is shake my head.. I recently had thrush in my esophagus. I took all my meds and actually finished them 4 days ago. The er Dr said all my symptoms were from the medication I was taking. HELLO I finished them 4 days ago..now mind you I suffer from 3 diseases of the lungs. I went in coughing like crazy. The Dr didnt even listen to my lungs. I was given fluids and a cough drop. Are u kidding me. Im so frustrated. We go in sick wanting help. Its a weekend I cant go to my dr!! Just absolutely angry.

Horrible inadequate care. Exceptionally long wait times. Rude staff and nurses. Indifferent doctors who do not give a fair minimum of stabilization care. And as another reviewer pointed out, there seems to be an attitude at Oswego emergency that people seeking treatment there are all treated as if they are pain drug seekers even when they are in obvious pain or even if the patient does not ask for pain medication, and I’m sure this is partially due to the state’s war on opioids, but Oswego Hospital doctors are ridiculous in their withholding of pain medication when it is obviously needed for patients who are in real pain. I have seen this happen to my son who went in with a broken elbow, and it even happened with a friend of mine who is psychotherapist, she told me that when she was treated in emergency room for broken arm, that all they gave her was ibuprofen! Ibuprofen? Come on, really?! I’ve heard many other such stories from other folk I know in Oswego too. I know that friends of mine who teach at SUNY Oswego have had bad experiences with Oswego Emergency care. I’ve never once heard anyone have anything good to say about the emergency room staff, doctors and level of care.Oswego Hospital needs to do something about training their staff much better! And the emergency doctors at Oswego Hospital Emergency Care should have sensitivity training in how to talk to and be compassionate to human beings seeking their help there. I’m sure the doctors are all competent medically, but their rushed and arrogant attitudes and indifference to their patients, needs to be addressed and improved! The nursing staff and assistants also need some sensitivity training in how to treat human beings with dignity and compassion. Very rushed, rude, indifference, is a serious problem with all the emergency room staff. There is no excuse for it.

I would give this place zero starz if it was an option brought my daughter in with a fever a cough and she was weezing the doctor claimed they tested for covid the flu and a throat culture but I watched them only test for covid we sat their for 5 hours to be told nothing is wrong they should be shut down until they can find suitable doctors

Long wait times are due to covid. Triage nurse was prompt at getting people in to see priority. Rooms opened up when they could. I absolutely hate needles and the nurse was great at keeping me calm and only had to stick me once for the iv. Ive been in and out of the auburn er for two years now for abdominal pain. This er actually ran proper tests to see what was going on and actually gave me a diagnosis.

If I could give zero stars I would. Horrible rude ER doctor. Never examined and sent a patient away who was having tunnel vision, dizzy and a nose bleed for over 2 hours. That had happened for 6 days straight. Then had the audacity to say are you completely incapable of taking care of yourself?Avoid at all costs. Horrible place.

Treated as a drug seeker looking for a couple of days off work. I never even asked for pain medication, nor do I have a history of opiate use. (I would only take non narcotics anyway, if offered medication) Told no when asking for a doctors note (starting a brand new job 8 hours after my visit, no use of my right hand due to infection and swelling). No bloodwork, and not one person even touched or examined my wound. I sought treatment elsewhere the next day and was hospitalized for a couple of days.

I will never let any of my loved ones go to this emergency room. So many ways they lack in service I cant even begin to describe. I practically begged the staff for IV fluids because I was so dehydrated and they refused. By the time I went to St Joes maybe 24 hour later (wonderful hospital) I needed 2 bags of IV fluids and had a critically low potassium level. I am truly disturbed by the lack of care I received at this hospital. The only staff that IS helpful there is the office staff who will help find a DR to follow up with quickly.

Unfortunately the advertisements and billboard messages misrepresent Oswego Hospital. A heart attack requires competent, immediate care from a qualified team and it is not available at this facility. Dont waste valuable time here. Oswego try a little compassion rather than annoyance it would be a good start.
