The absolute WORST customer service ever!! In the ER department we encountered the rudest woman accepting patients at one of our scariest moments. Who hires someone like that to deal with patients? Tried for 3 days to reach anyone on the phone to share our experience and NO ONE in any authority answers or returns calls. Unbelievable! Management needs to retrain these extremely unprofessional people working there to let them know they should be working for the community or find another job!!!
Beware!!!!!! This place has the most disgusting customer service out of any medical professional I have ever seen. Not only did they violate my wifes disability requirements that are protected under the 1993 disabilities act of the United States of America. When I tried to calmly and collectively explain to them how my wife needs me with her at all times because of said disability. They got extremely agitated and aggressive with us kicked us out of the office when she is a high risk twin birth pregnancy. At that point we went and found a new provider and new physician the day after we found our new physician, we received a letter from the old physician Dr. Raj. Telling us they were severing our relationship due to my behavior when I was the one who was calm and collective and their nurses were being extremely aggressive and inappropriate violating the 1993 disability act. I have filed a complaint with the attorney general because this is a blatant disregard of basic human rights. This will not be the last that they hear from me. We found a much better physicians office. That doesnt violate the law of the land. Which had no issue accommodating my wifes disability these people should be ashamed of themselves they bring shame upon this hospital and the county of Oswego.
RUN. After my grandfather died here, the horrors got much worse....after an emergency cesarean they didn’t even give me my baby to hold after demanding they did! They then took him, placed him under plastic, injected him with sugar water and then took him to a nicu a county away. There is always difficulty breathing after an abnormal childbirth. This hospital and their incompetent and careless staff made a horrible choice that scarred me and stole long awaited moments that are needed to develop a relationship. I will never go back here.
Went in for an operation. Everything went well friendly staff. After the operation, I spoke to the doctor they said they would contact me in 2 weeks to check my progress. I never received a phone call. Between 1-2 months after my operation I was having some symptoms that were I felt were from the medicine I was given. I called the number the hospital gave me if there was any complications. I was only allowed to talk to a nurse, and was told I was fine that it wasn’t the medicine. I eventually went back to my doctors and requested never to be referred there again.
Wouldn’t even give this one star. Went to the hospital with difficulty breathing, severe chest pain and burning, and I’m pregnant it took 3 hours of me waiting and I absolutely couldn’t wait any longer so I left. I’m definitely not coming back. If anything I feel worse from being there. Just go to the Syracuse hospital if you can.
I had my son in 2014.my first one may I add and the nurses and doctors where by my side a lot.. one nurse I forgot.her name for the love of my mind stood by my side as I was getting the c-section down and was just down right lovey... any expecting mother I recomend this hospitals 100%
I was told by my primary care physician that I was having an allergic reaction to the Moderna vaccine and to go to the Oswego ER for emergency treatment for having trouble breathing and rapid heartbeat on March 22, 2020. After sitting in the waiting room for 3 1/2 hours, people being called in befire me, the doctor told me that it was probably anxiety?! No blood drawn, no oxygen given, given a steroid shot, a breathing treatment, a chest xray and was stopped and asked for my 20% co-pay of $175 !! The discharge paperwork did not say allergic reaction to Moderna vaccine, it said, mild reactive airway disease instead, therefore my insurance company will not oay the bill! I am still sick and have been tested for COVID and pneumonia and am on high doses of steroids and bed ridden! This hospital should be shut down!!
Sent to the hospital by my primary doctor, I am struggling to breathe and have lost feeling in my arms and legs. They asked me to stand in the outer lobby when I can barely keep myself up right. 30 mins later they put me in a wheelchair and just left me there. After several hours I still haven’t been seen, Im still struggling with my breathing
Went to hospital by ambulance due to chest complications/ breathing issues and my face was drooping , as soon as I got pushed into the ER before the nurse even looked my way, he asked how I was getting home and that he was going to get my release papers, no tests were done, nothing. Unbelievably unprofessional, even the EMTs were confused! This will be my first and last time going. Would not recommend!!
I usually have good care there. I have many health issues, and I forever am in there it seems. The staff treats me well all the time. This week I had the worst experience of my life. I felt like I had the flu, I tried to care for it at home. I ended up having a seizure, hitting the floor (uncarpeted). I fell on my right side. I had a massive migraine and pain in my hips, and back. The doctor was like oh a migraine. I have a plan of care in the computer since I am there a lot for my Complex Cluster Migraines. I have had it for years now. This doctor refused to listen. He gave me what he wanted to and sent me home cause he cant do anything. Mind you I have the flu or so it seems. I cant hold medication in. I went back later and had a lot wrong. Lets start with administering me medication I had an allergic reaction to when taken before and it was in my chart?? I almost died May 23 into the 24 as I was all swollen and couldnt figure out why. My doctors I was told to contact told me to go back to the ER. I got kick ass service after the doctor who tried to right the wrong the best he could. I have many options here and just am disgusted with doctors who think they are god. Guess he didnt read the bible (my allergy chart)!! Just because you have been there the longest and treated lord knows what doesnt mean you play god with my life or any other persons life. ~Diana~
I cant give them anything more than one star considering the fact that I went here with kidney stones, a kidney infection and something that imitated the flu they couldnt figure out what it was. I stayed her for two nights and within the first day they moved me from my first room (which is normal so Im not complaining about that).. to a room upstairs then less than two hours went by and they decided that they were going to to move me to maternity even though I was running a fever of 103°. I stayed the night there and finally got comfortable after being moved around and being in so much pain for them to tell me the next morning that they were going to move me again because I was running a temperature and cant be around babies (which I completely understand and didnt understand why I was being moved to maternity to begin with). Seemed like I was just being thrown around like a hot potato and they didnt really care about my comfort. Wouldnt recommend to anyone and will only go back here if I get shot and cant make it to Syracuse.
Slowest , worst ER ever I cant believe that the hospital doesnt do something about this . I wish I would have read reviews before we came here . They didnt even seem that busy as we waited 3 hours to be seen . Then an hour to get a shot with nurse saying 15 minutes you should be out of here . Two hours and waiting on discharge papers . Unreal. Cant say understaffed as 10 people giggling and talking around desk.
Well do I have a few things to say. Well start with positivesPositives: leaving is very easyNegatives:-they prescribed me with an antibiotic for a viral lung infection (bronchitis), worsening my symptoms tenfold and actually setting me back in the recovery process. Which is something fundamentally wrong and every doctor should know this-They take an extremely long time to perform simple procedures, and are bad at describing what they want as far as your cooperation.-Upon a return trip at 6am while in excruciating pain due to their inadequate and improper treatments they still took 45 minutes to get me out of the waiting room and into the hospital, then another hour passed before I was seen-they forgot to give me pain medications during the entire time I was there up until 30 minutes before I left.-let me leave and drive myself home with chronic chest pain, as well as a fever of 101.8 degrees Fahrenheit-still no pain meds
My daughter goes to college in Oswego. I have a background in healthcare. She had sudden severe knee pain after doing a stretch. Sounded like a subluxed patella to me. Her boyfriend had to carry her to the car because she couldnt walk. After waiting over 2 hours in the waiting room I instructed her what to do to try and put her knee back in place. It worked and she started to feel much better. She spent another hour in the waiting room then 1 1/2 hours in the back. Still no dr. I called ER and was very annoyed but not rude. Shortly after that the dr spent 30 seconds with her and discharged her. No X-Ray to check if it was completely back in place and to check for abnormalities that may have caused it in the first place. To me the X-ray was a minimal level of care to expect. Total waste of time there. She could have easily been properly triaged on a quick track orthopedic problem. Quick X-ray and out. I think the problem with this ER is their triage practices. They need a good manager to teach proper triage techniques. As an aside when she first arrived at ER she told me most of waiting room was full of people who looked like druggies. Not for nothing but the regulars waiting for a fix should be put on the end of the list. Not first come first served. It would help your long waiting time issues if word got out that ER isnt for a quick fix of drugs.* update. No response from owner. Only good reviews get responses.
I had an ultrasound done here and they told me nothing was wrong, a week later I went to another hospital for another doctor and they showed me everything in an ultrasound that Oswego missed and now I am set for surgery at the other hospital. I am so thankful I went for a second opinion. If im not bleeding out I will make the drive to Syracuse if I need to get ANYTHING done!
On July 11,2016 I took my third ambulance ride to the ER. I had been having fainting spells, sweating profusely, weakness, dizziness, shaking and severe heart palpitations. My first 2 trips ended me in the waiting room very sick for over 4 hours each time. The first 2 trips I was only given a pill. Ativan 2 mg as they concluded without tests that it was anxiety. I had been taking Hydrochlorathiazide for 2 weeks, On July 11...Dr. Ahmed was the Er Dr. He came in the room after laughing with the 2 ditzy ambulance attendants and was laughing with them when they told him i believed I was low on Potassium. He wanted to know what I wanted. I told him bloodwork to check my electrolytes After the test came back he admitted to me that my potassium was low 3.5 is the low end of normal. They hung a half of a bag of normal saline. I still felt ill.......they said they were discharging me. I asked the nurse to let me talk to the Dr. as I was still weak, shaky and still dehydrated. Instead of seeing the Dr. A Nurse named Dave physically put his hands on me and told me to get out of his hospital.I returned home and went to Walmart to buy Potassium Supplements and Gatorade. Today I am feeling much better due to the potassium supplements. II would not bring a rabid dog to this ER. Very very unprofessional. I am totally disgusted with Oswego Health.
This hospital seriously needs to address the issues indicated in their reviews. Not only is the service extremely slow, which sometimes I can understand, but the pure and utter rudeness of the staff, especially the front desk is unacceptable!!!! Retraining (or training) in customer service is essential. Get these attitudes in check. This is a hospital where people need care, and concern, and some compassion wouldnt hurt. Disappointed!
Worked at Oswego Health beforePros:- Working in the healthcare environment gives you a sense of purpose that your doing something great for the community.- There are some wonderful individuals working here, most of the staff is friendly.- The head Chef does an amazing jobCons:- Upper management only cares about numbers and revenue and not practical solutions.- Employees are treated like cattle- Communication & expectations between departments is horrible- Doctors, surgeons, and some of the Admin personnel; regularly disrespect the nursing staff with their entitled attitudes- Security is an absolute joke, any one can walk in off the street and access almost the entire facility- Nepotism amongst management>Advice to Management<- Stop trying to operate like a corporation- Remove the ideology of calling sick patients your customers you should be ashamed of yourselves.- Listen to your employees from the bottom level- Stop punishing employees for their desire to work overtime. Its no secret you have an appalling turn over rate of new employees. The rotting core here begins with corrupt management.
I and my family included have been to this ER several times and have always have had the utmost courtesy and care here. Sometimes people have to realize that when there is a wait.. Maybe there are other cases that have come in by ambulance with life and death situations.. being said my husband with 2 different episodes of heart attacks. One night we went and had to wait a while and later found out that they had to teenagers helivact in from a car accident and one of the young ladies was in critical condition.please understand it isnt first come first serve... you are seen by the severity of your illness and there are only so many rooms.Appreciate the staff of whom work at all hours of the night to take care of you. if the emergency in the back was one of your family members wouldnt you want them seen first in a life or death situation...Blessed Always... #tomanyhaters#havenoclue#therealsituations#P.s. to all of the staff Thank-you for saving my husbands life, my sons, and now my moms who is in there right now as I write this at 3:33am.
The staff here is disgracefully bad at there jobs every time my pregnant girlfriend has something wrong and needs to speak with someone for a question these morons hang up with out even saying hello after going through there automated system. Hire people that have brain cells please.
Horrible, lied to by everyone there on everything. Im gonna get a 2nd opinion on my gall bladder needing surgery. The ER doctor seemed to know or care less about the issue than I did. These people are cheap ass bastards they promise you a meal after going through a battery of fasting tests. I had to refuse to sign out to get a cheap $1 tv dinner, and they claimed they didnt even have a piece of bread. Claiming to be a poor hospital with limited resources.Never again will I step into Oswego hospital for as long as I live. Next time and for now on its only gonna be St Joes in Syracuse where theydont starve you, and where they care about you as a patient not a # or wrist band ID.Oswego hospital is poison, stay clear at all costs. Dont believe me see yourself and see why Id rate them a -1 if I could!!
Took my wife to Urgent care no one there to to x-rays so had to come to Oswego not happy poor customer service like they dont care about the comminty at all Then we get to the Hospital and the lady behide the window very rude What the heck dont like your job get a new one . At least Dr Ahmed was on he is awesome very nice doctor to badhe still dont have his practice
This excuse for a hospital has a doctor of osteopath, Dr. Neely working in the ER, who is clueless about medicine. Tells patients they are anxious, while ignoring the symptoms that brought them there, refuses to take a medical history, ignores orders by the Cleveland Clinic and discharges patients without getting all test results back. She has no business working alone in the ER; she is not a MD!!! What is wrong with the administration of this hospital to allow this to happen???
Had my first surgery ever at 71 years old I was a little nervous but the staff treated me with care and respect very professional just their attitude made me feel every thing would be fine the operation went as they said it would and in the time they said I could not have been treated any better at any other Hospital it has been a week since my surgery and there are no problems with my recovery I am so glad I picked Oswego Hospital for my surgery,Thank You Oswego Hospital.
Kid went there as she was a week post op from fusion surgery at upstate... She was running a 102.5 fever after middle of the night call to on call Dr she suggested to go to nearest ER do too possible infection...the ER Dr was so rude he was like oh post op pain cant help sorry go to upstate.... We said no post op fever here to check for inflection... Told we need to drive 1 hr to upstate as he cant help with pain HELLO not pain fever say it slow feeevveerr...treated like she was a drug addict yet we went there for high fever after spinal surgery..... People got problems lose the ride and do your jobs.....will never go again....remember judge jury and executioner we pay your salaries your no better than anyone else.....wasted time...charged 500$ oh post op pain we give no drug... Sigh not pain Frankenstein post op fever....shove your drugs.......no wonder Everyone says dont go there truly unprofessional
Im on my 2nd week here, have had to stay here temporarily until I get moved to a nursing home...I stayed on the 3rd floor and the dtaff here have been more the gracious and very helpful...unlike the emergency/triage dept.was a very long, cold wait and some unpleasant staff members.
Oswego hospital is a effing joke urgent care Doctor diagnosed wife with kidney infection and refered her to hospital for IV antibiotics we get to the hospital and doctor on call says we are not urgent care we are the emergency room big difference what an arrogant comment from someone who is supposed to be a professional this is by far the worst hospital and not suprissur that it only has a rating of (2) maybe this place is better suited to be treating farm animals
This is the first review I have ever written, because I actually feel compelled to in a hope that no other parent has to watch their kid suffer like my wife and I have had to these last 2 days. This place is such a joke, my teenage son had surgery and the doctor sent us home saying to just give him Tylenol, while stating that if the Tylenol was not enough they would prescribe him something a little stronger. After 24 hours of giving him proper dosage of Tylenol every 4 hours and him in constant pain, while getting a total of maybe 40 minutes of sleep I called and left a message to see if they could give him anything. My wife received the call back and they told her to just keep giving him Tylenol. After another 24 hours of literally the exact same as the first 24 hours I called again, since 48 hours of watching him in constant pain and him getting a total of roughly 2 hours of sleep was getting hard to watch. This time I answered the call back and the woman told me that they never prescribe minors any opiates ever. I asked if they could write something even like tramadol, which I was told the doctor does not write anything like that. She then tried to claim that giving minors any opiate, even one time of the correct dosage is known to kill minors and there’s no way of knowing which minors opiates will kill. I then asked for any non-opiate and she sarcastically told me, “believe it or not, he will make through this”. Unbelievably unprofessional, so I told her, “Of course he will I never said he was going to die, but it’s not right to just let him suffer though”. As I could tell the women had no compassion and was unwilling to help I told her as much and hung up.

2022-02-12I think its great to hear that my sister in DKA (deadly) is told that they didnt give her insulin sooner because they are taking care of actually sick people. She is a MOTHER, a DAUGHTER, a SISTER, and an AUNT. If all you see is a hopeless addict you are sadly mistaken. NO ONE is hopeless. Anyone can change when theyre ready. START treating addicts as PEOPLE. People who need to be cared for. If youre incapable of caring then get a job that youre able to do. This isnt the first time theyve treated my sister like garbage. Im sick of it.

2022-06-14Worst standard of care my family has experienced, ever. My daughter was denied the ability to shower for five days. Failed to properly administer daily meds for siezure maintenance. She also suffers from Gerd, needs medicine before she can eat. Every day we were left to buy her a new breakfast because hers had been out for hours before she was able to have it. Beyond upset that Im not able to maintain a higher standard of care for my daughter in this facility.

2022-06-17If you go to the emergency room they wont tell you about receiving two bills. Just one. The second bill will be for Port City Emergency Physicians. They will send you a totally separate bill with a letter head on the envelope that is unrelated to both the hospital and Port City Physicians. So make sure you are vigilant in opening strange unrecognizable mail or else you will miss an EXTENSIVE bill and go to collections. I dont have insurance since its expensive. I struggle leaving my house and going places so I usually use Wellnow telehealth. But I had a nasty allergic reaction and needed assistance. I have not been to this hospital in years. Next time I have an emergency Ill truck myself to Syracuse. Id rather suffer than deal with deceptive practices.Edit: Thank you for replying, but you did not address remotely what I have issue with. I am in collections. There is no contacting you or Port City Physicians, whom informed me I should have opened my mail, and I can only deal with the collections agency now. I was in need of care, which you provided and your staff was very kind. That isnt in question. What is however, is not being properly informed about payment, the bill from you that I was informed about I have been making payments on, for a few shots and medication that came to around $900. I was not made aware I would have a completely separate bill nor what that bill would be presented as or titled when it arrived at my house. The ennvolope, which I found, was not even titled Port City Physicians but something else. That bill is over $2000 dollars. There was no consideration made on the part of this hospital to ensure I was informed and armed with all knowledge needed.

2022-02-23I brought my son to your hospital ER a few weeks ago for leg pain and swollen lymph nodes. Your doctor ran a basic blood test and assured me its not cancer and sent us home. Golisanos just diagnosed him with stage 4 neuroblastoma. I will never ever use your ER again.

2022-01-09Very unorganized, The only staff worth speaking with are the lady’s up front in intake. the E.R staff were very rude 01/05 the E.R apparently forgets that rooms are right beside the desks where every one chats. Listened to them talk down on my situation along with other individuals needing to be seen. The doctor seemed very consumed with flirting with his staff rather then helping patients. 🤦♀️😞

2022-01-27This is just a really horrible place. I wouldnt recommend ever going here. It will take 3-4 hours just to be seen. They probably wont help you either. Just run a bunch of tests and send you on your way. And probably take way too much blood out of you. Pump you full of medicines without telling you what they are. Ive had many bad experiences here. Go anywhere EXCEPT this place!

2021-09-22Long story short,my poor son was here for 8 hours total, 4 without being checked on, I had to call to get someone to check on my child, yes he was alone! hes 17 and away in college. We ended the night with his results getting mixed up, phone call from different folks with different results. Just terrible. I will say that some attendees were nice and attentive to him once inside but this overall visit/experience was horrible!!!!

2021-05-23Had both my children at Oswego hospital. Both times the nurses and staff were attentive and friendly. They made sure that my child and I were comfortable and well taken care of. When struggling with nursing, they came in to show new techniques and cheered me on to keep me motivated. They were always willing to answer my questions without hesitation. I would recommend Oswego to everyone who is expecting!

2021-08-05If I could rate lower than a one I would! Took husband to E.R. last eve. & we were ignored, disrespected & got into a confrontation by RN there!! Most unprofessional staff I have ever seen!!! After 3 1/2 hours not even in a room later we left!!! And yes I left a message on the Qualty management line!!! They need to train more thoroughly and follow up to make sure they are following protocols!!! Will not ever return there!!!
