Theyve resurfaced the track twice in the past 2 years! ...Then the clay gets taken up in the middle of October and the track gets ruined again when it goes back to asphalt 🤣Jkjk,. The Oswego Speedway is a legendary half mile asphalt track located on the SE corner of lake Ontario. It is The Home of The Supermodifieds and is also known as The Steel Palace. It runs a regular program of Big Block and Small Block Super modifieds on Saturday nights spring through summer and into autumn. The track is the home of the 200-lap, Budweiser Classic every Labor day weekend as well as Race Of Champions (a modified touring series event). Oswego Speedway also hosts the annual King of Wings event for winged supermodifieds.Through out the race season Oswego Speedway hosts special events as the facility is visited by ISMA and MSA (winged supermodifieds) as well as DART Asphalt Modified Tour cars, Buckeye Super (winged asphalt) Sprint Cars.Since 2016, The Steel Palace gets covered with about 7000 cubic feet of clay and becomes The Clay Palace for DIRTcars NAPA Auto Parts Super Dirt Week that takes place every October.
My first speedway experience. Food was decently priced. The tickets were a $5 weekend special for the 18th (yesterday) so definitely a great price for my first stock car race. Cars were fast and loud, loved it! Watch turn 4 though, they love making moves there and 3 of them ended up in the foam wall. Great time!!! I definitely recommend this place! Oh and free parking too!
Went to a food drive at the soeedway to pick up food for a family without a car or means to get food. The people there were great and so helpful and everything was so quick. The friend was able to get enough food from those boxes to feed her family of 4 kids and herself for at least a month.
Weather and mud sucked but thats not the tracks fault. However be expected to walk up and down the giant hill there youll burn those greasy calories lol. The stands are old iron clad bring blankets or seat cushions the track design itself is good lots of good racing. Was here for dirt weekend had a lot of fun watching and the people who were working the track stuff its self (checking bracelets at grandstands or the food counters underneath the grandstand) were friendly enough no one gave me a hard time or was a dink about being there or getting snippy with people. Good experience just know what youre in for and youll enjoy yourself.
Oswego Speedway is kind of like a super cool car club and everyones invited with open arms. I go here every weekend, mostly because my significant others father owns a big block supermodified and his uncle drives it, The Sharkeys and his cousins the Danzers and Hawksbys are there racing/running as well. He has an amazing racing family..Its in their blood. I love them💜 My friend Dalton races the small block cars so we always say heyy to him and his dad after the race. The owner John is a nice, softspoken yet down to earth guy who he listens to all the racers and any concerns they may have. All around Great people who love the lifestyle!! The cool part about the speedway is everyone knows someone so its like a big family, I cant tell you how many foodstuffs, smiles and laughs weve passed around once we enter the pits after the race. And fyi to anyone who didnt know, YOU CAN GO IN THE PITS AND SOCIALIZE AFTER THE RACE! come see the cars! Youll get autographs, make friends, and random people will offer you food Lol. As the s/o of a pit crew guy I could be in the trailer or watch in the pits with my son, but generally I sit in the stands during the race because Unless youre running personally I think its harder to see things down in the pits as the cars wooosh past you so swiftly. However you can do both, some people buy a pit pass and you can go from the stands to the pits and vice versa. (Granted theres no cars running...or youll be squished.) The red section of the stands is non-smoking so its a safe environment for little lungs. They sell noise reducing headphones down in a booth where the food is for 10$ (The booth to the right of the popcorn booth) Protect their little ears! Theres excellent food, Dinos has great stuff, My lovely friend Cheryl and her husband run it and their daughters all work there as well, support small family businesses💜 My son and I freaking love it there! I love the people, the grub, the excitement of the races, the whole shabang. We go every weekend since the season started and well continue to support the steel palace in all its metal glory forever💜
Ive been to over 50 Winston Cup (NASCAR) races all over the Country, love Dirt track racing, watched just about every kind of racing on 4 wheels. But Brother- when those SUPERS enter Turn 4 at Oswego and put The Hammer down heading for the green flag ? INCREDIBLE!!!!For me ? Nothing else like it!
Great place if you are a racing fan a little high on prices to get in to watch but the drivers put on one hell of a show each and every week low car counts for the companion classes but with the cars that are there in the super modified class you have at least 12 cars that could win on any given night food prices are about the same as any other track they are handicapped accessible
Would be nice for warnings about fireworks. PTSD doesn’t mix very well with those when the person is woken up out of a deep sleep! Also those who work overnights and get disturbed as well. Maybe a better notice should be given for those who live by to hear it. Thankfully dirt week is the last week 🙌🏼🙌🏼Please have more respect of those around you who may have PTSD! It’s common courtesy wether you know or not when it comes to fireworks!

2022-05-30I contacted to do advertising for my small local business. I did receive one email back but after I asked about the lower priced advertising options I never heard back. I emailed again to check back in and still no response. I would have thought every advertiser helps and would be appreciated no matter the size, but I guess not. :-(

2018-07-18Good time on a Saturday night. Brought my kids and they got in free. It was a quick night of 3 heats for the two divisions, and then a fast feature race for each. Small block races were all fairly boring with minimal passing. Overall a good time for the price.

2021-08-01It has been many years since the last time I have been to the track. The cars have gotten faster and sleeker. Nothing in live ever stay the same as what you experience when you are younger it was exciting a couple of close battles wheel to wheel racing I guess I expected more side by side racing. Again I grew up going in 60,70,80&90s things change the Torrese are doing a great job with the track in keeping it going, keep up the good work

2021-10-16Super Dirt Week is the best weekend of racing! Fun for the whole family. The two bad things for me was no outhouse in the tent section and the track was in horrible condition.
