1. On Wednesday I called this store to order something and I was told it was too late to place and order.2. On Thursday, I called again and was able to place the order.3. For an item that they said cost $15, I was charged $27. 22.4. I have asked when I will receive it because I needed urgently. I was told I will receive it by Saturday. I didnt received it.5. On Monday, I called and was told that she was not able to get to the post office on time due to the protest and that the package should arrive today Monday.6. I was given a tracking number with not further reference to which postal service is being used.7. I called again around 6:30 p. m. to request the postal Service used because I was unable to track the package with usps.8. I was told it is USPS that was used and that if I dont receive the package today I will receive it tomorrow.9. I said that was not what I was told.10. I was yelled at with this:I am not the post office, how much did you pay for the shipping? That is why I dont like to do business with these people11. As I was explaining what I was told, she hang up the phone on me.12. Is that customer service?13. Last but not the least Who is those people they dont like to do business with? Clearky they discriminate against a group of people.
Please Do not come to this establishment, do not give these rude and disrespectful people your money. The sales woman was rude and considered me a thief from the moment i stepped in the store with my hoodie on. They are the exact reason why black people are treated like garbage in this day and age
The woman at the counter was very rude. She didn’t want to answer any questions and seemed annoyed that we (my husband and i) even asked her about the products in the store. She kept asking me if i’m done shopping despite the fact that she could clearly see that we were looking at items on the isles. I was excited to go there for the palm wine which turned out to be just palm juice but i’m never going back there.
Walked into this store a few minutes ago because I was surprised to see it open. I said hello to the woman behind the counter and looked at the products in Hopes to buy soap and toothpaste but before I even grabbed them off the shelf i was literally rushed to buy something because the owner said she was scared of this whole covid 19 thing. I was there all but 2 minutes. If you are scared to run a business dont open your doors. However I get the feeling had I been from some African descent I wouldnt havent been rushed to buy something. This is the only African Market in the area. Now I see why I was the only customer in the store!
You should go there to get special African artifacts and patterns and these special unique jewelry and go there now because there have these super cool beautiful unique roses but Im not spoiling its a clean nice store and trust me. Its worth it just go and see for yourself. The lady that owns the store is really nice. Go meet her too. And tell her I said hi plz.

2022-05-02Went there today to get some items and an outfit for the Oshun Festival and it was an awesome experience and I am also an owner of a Botanica but I came here for something specific and got it. The Customer Service was amazing and I felt welcomed and definitely will be coming back.

2022-03-01Laura is a wonderful shopkeep, shes always looking to help toy find what you need. Shes the old school ryosyof shopkeep that remembers your name and asks you how youre doing. I come here to get obi abata (kola nut) , orogbo (bitter kola), epo pupa ( red palm oil), ẹfun, and sometimes even egusi to make yummy food. The store also has a huge arsenal of dried beans, bean flour, pounded Yam powder, and spiritual colognes.

2021-11-12Nice place and well stocked. But it seems that if you are not African you are not trusted. I was followed through the store and admonished for pointing to a necklace like if I was touching it. Overall didnt feel welcomed and treated like a potential robber. Interestingly, I probably know more about their Yoruba items than them.

2022-01-11First time I went to this store (about a year ago)I found it to be well stocked with all the products I needed, but felt rushed and didn’t get everything I wanted because the lady in the store needed to go to the post office so I felt rushed and left.My friend went last month and the lady told him to hurry up because she had to go to the post office.Today I went back while picking up a few things and the same lady said again…”You must hurry up because I have to go to the post office “What’s the deal!?I needed plenty of things from this store, but after today, I will take my money/business elsewhere. They need another worker so the patrons don’t feel so rushed and this lady can handle her daily postal business

2021-12-11I ordered a trio of hats from the website. They arrived quickly and in good question, but one which I had ordered in black showed up blue. I emailed the store about it and received no response. So I called and was told that they had run out of black hats. So rather than email or call me to tell me that, they just shipped a blue one instead. The real kicker is that the blue hat they sent me isnt even advertised on their site. Maybe shop in person but buying online isnt wise as you may not receive what you ordered.

2021-07-21Always great stuff!! Good prices very very kind people that work there, super helpful. I just wish that that when you get a half a pound of kola nuts that they were a bit smaller. The size of them takes up the weight. But they are great quality. I love this place.Update: HOWEVER, Please CHANGE the store hour information online, it says Sunday. Thats the only issue. I went today, on a Wednesday, because it said it was open. It was not. The store hours on the shop say closed on Wednesday all day. I wasted a trip.

2022-01-14I went to spend my Black dollars with a Black-owned spiritual store & my experience at Owa was not pleasant. The saleswoman was so rude, I really felt bad for her.
