The pizza was awesome. I ordered the cheese sticks also, they were also good. Not frozen. Well worth ordering. Delivery time was 40 min and driver was very friendly and Covid compliant. Owego visitors try these guys out!!
The absolute best chicken spedie sub you will ever have in your entire life. The chicken is so tender and savory, and the bread is so warm and fresh. It’s perfection. Probably the best restaurant in Owego! Great food and service every time. The owners are a good bunch. Rob especially is a great guy and a Marine vet. Support veteran owned businesses! I’ve been coming here for decades and I have many fond memories.

This was our first time at this restaurant and we had been driving through town on a road trip. We just wanted a quick dinner and to get back on the road. Street parking was non existent and we had to park about a block away in pouring rain. Once inside we had to ask to be seated as the staff were all too busy to seat us. Even at that the table was dirty so we waited for a server to was it off. It took about 15 minutes for a waitress to come over. About 15 minutes later we got drinks but no menus yet! After ordering we got our food about 30 minutes later. Although the service was horrible (the kind of waitress that quickly puts your dish on the table and rushes away immediately without asking if you need anything else). We had to flag her down just to get butter. The food was hot and servings huge. Their meat sauce and meatballs were very good and tastefully homemade as opposed to frozen. The apple pie was very good and had lots of filling. Price was competitive with similar restaurants. If you are in any kind of a hurry or looking for excellent non-frustrating service, this is not the place to go.

They dont ha e a salamander or a broiler or even a warmer, yet they serve many items that normally require that type of equipment. They just use an oven, which is why some stuff seems overly dry. Also, they serve the same buffalo sauce on wings, whether the customer orders mild, medium, or hot!I went for dinner there , on wing night, I ordered 6 wings, my husband got a dozen, I hot fries, he got a plain calzone, we drank water...the bill was a little over $40!!! MEDIOCRE AT BEST
I enjoy their cauliflower crust (gluten free) pizza, steak fries, and side salads. They have a friendly wait staff, and I appreciate that they are still open late. One thing to note for new customers is that they total your cost at the register, not on your check.
Owego Originals was amazing. The portions are huge...I got 3 meals out of my chicken parm dinner...and it was delicious. The service was top-notch. The setting in the dining room felt appropriately casual and homey.

Fantastic restaurant, kind staff. During really busy times the pizza can be a little undercooked (flooded with orders, popular place) so youre best bet is to order during slower hours, pizza and wings are always 10/10 during those more idle times.

Loved the Pizza. Hot and Savory. Bread was perfectly done. This is a good place to hang out in Owego. Their staff is very friendly. When we were there, someone paid for our food as a pay forward. Decent folks in the town.

Large menu vague descriptions of some items. Sandwiches had very large portions and the roll / bread was made fresh. The cheese fries were good. I would go back again to try their pizza even though I didnt particularly care for the marinade that the chicken was cooked in, and our chicken cheesesteak tasted either like onion or overcooked chicken

I got a 10 inch personal pizza with all veggies and no cheese! (Im vegan) and my family got their usual pepperoni pizza! Im never disappointed! Yummy food and great service!
The staff is friendly, the food is Italian styled with other menu items. THE Owners actually work in-house and make sure of customer satisfaction. The quality is not the best BUT is GOOD and you definitely get your money worth and dont leave hungry. If looking for a GOOD neighborhood eatery, for good value and good food- this is the place - OIP OWEGO.

This is protest pizza place I have gone. Fair on prices to. Clean (even before pandemic) can order subs pizza. Delivery option. There understand of allergies to so if you got food you are allergic to just say ahead of time. Never had reaction issues. Food is tasty and like how they do there subs. Good with costumer service and friendly. Never had negative experience have some fav foods but definitely have lots of good menu items. Inside smells AMAZING.
Had high hopes because was recommended by friends but the food we got was not good. And the service wasn’t very friendly. Was having a pretty good day and the service as well as overall feel inside the building put a damper on the mood, no one wants to go out to eat and end up feeling worse after they leave. The waitress we had would come over quickly put something on our table and run away quickly without saying a word (and there was not more than 5 tables split between all the waitresses working). Tbh wish I could give this place a 0. If I were you I’d save your money by heading somewhere else to dine.
The garlic wings were greasy and fried plain, with raw garlic and oil dumped all over them, so it all slid off the wings to the bottom of the container, and so the wings were slimy and tasteless. And overpriced.Once my pizza cooled down after about 15 minutes, the cheese became like rubber. And the sauce was very sweet and tasted like canned sauce. Two thumbs down!!

We went for dinner tonight and sat on the bar side. Both my husband and I ordered chicken cutlet parmesan with pasta. The portions were large and the flavor was excellent. What made our visit even better was the attention and service provided by our server, Brittany. I can’t remember the last time we had such great service!

Decided to come here for lunch since it had good reviews, and a few friends recommended it.Our “waitress” couldn’t even remember what drinks we had, wasn’t even able to get us something without us asking twice for what we wanted...I was recommended the garlic parm sub, our food came out and it looked like a child tossed chicken on a sub roll and threw sauce at it.. The chicken was dry, and the bread tasted stale.. The best part of my meal were the fries as they were fresh cut (only reason why it deserved 3 stars) and weren’t soggy..It was $30 for a chicken parm sub, a spiedie sub, two sides of fries & two drinks... (which isn’t bad priced for the portions)..
Must of been a off. Night my spaghetti was cold and flavor was awful.
Tonight I enjoyed a wonderful time with my family at Originals on Lake Avenue. Every part of our dining experience was fabulous. Plenty of comfortable seating for our large group. Exceptional service, from exceptional staff. From environment to our meals every part of our service was impeccable. The food was delicious and fresh. We were served in a timely fashion. Thank you Originals for keeping tradition alive. Wonderful!!
I ordered a daily special. Unfortunately, my lobster ravioli was uncooked, the pasta was just raw dough. The salad was just some iceberg lettuce and a cherry tomato; wasnt even worth eating. The alfredo had a texture like gravy, lumpy and thick. On the other hand, the bread was really good and my fiance loved the fries and pepperoni roll.
This restaurant is a classic staple of Owego. Dont get them confused with competitors who use aggressively similar advertising; Originals has the best pizza in town. The rest of their menu is absolutely worth your time, too. Ive had their steak, burgers, salmon, pasta, salads, wraps and sandwiches and Ive loved everything Ive ordered. Their delivery is quick, their employees are always friendly and their establishment has a great ambiance on both sides. Where Ive ordered from and dined at other restaurants in the area, this is the one I can always go to for good food, whatever Im in the mood for. 10/10.
Hard to find good gluten free pizza. It was a nice size personal pan, buttery, flaky. They also have a cauliflower crust as well. Wings and chicken ceaser wrap was.good as well. The women that took my order was sweet and respectful and order was put in correctly. Wait time was good.
Food is good normally. This may be a one off thing. But I called at 12:07pm and they stated 45 mins to 1 hour delivery. I called back at 1:06 they said a few mins. I waited another 35 mins in the parking lot for them. Still no food. Called again. They said a few mins. Terrible when you are ordering food for 5 people.

100 times out of 100 we have been happy with originals. We justmoved to Owego from Endicott and had always traveled to Owego to go to originals. We love the pizza, Sicilian and sheet pizzas especially and we tell friends about the fat cat. Our servers mostly have been fast, professional and efficient over the years. Recently we have had Brittany and she exceeds the expectations of this level of dining by far. We just had a delivery where the order taker mentioned a two liter comes free with a sheet pizza so we got one then we were charged for it but the delivery driver was a stand up individual and a pleasure to speak to. No place is perfect so I’ll forgive the 3.00. But like I said, 100 times out of 100 it’s still great.
Great local place - was visiting with a friend and he took me here- had the chicken cutlet dinner - insane portion and perfectly cooked - grilled shrimp were delicious and the HOMEMADE bread! Nice alcohol selection as well. Slice of pizza (I ate ALL the food) was solid too. Nice setting, and a family restaurant.
My favorite little hometown pizza place! Responsible prices, great food and great prices. Always my go to. A little outdated on the inside but I never eat in and that isnt a big deal to me. Waitstaff is always helpful and friendly.
Delicious cheese pizza tonight if you like thin crust. Giant slices. Roomy seating, typical pizza joint atmosphere,great chicken wings. My one complaint is the waitress couldve been a little more friendly, maybe it was a bad day. Maybe it was my face, who knows. Will come again.
Love Originals! The food is always great. My daughter was bopping along to the live music that we could hear from the lounge tonight. Even with strawberry festival in full swing we still got right in and had a good time.
Excellent restaurant to have genuine Italian food. Everytime i go to originals i can not help but to get a pizza, wings, and of course breaded mushrooms. I have never had a bad meal from originals. The staffs is always friendly when inside the restaurant. The restaurant is good size to sit down and have food.They do accept credit cards and offer options for bulk orders called party packs. When checking out they offer 2 litters of soda.

Good food, quick service. I had their small antipasto salad and it was big enough for a very good lunch. My wife had a spring greens salad. Our friends shared a pizza. Everyone enjoyed the food.

Giving one star for health and safety standards. The servers, cashiers, and the COOKS were all maskless within the restaurant and in the kitchen. We were blatantly lied to, the cook said the health department did not require them to wear masks, even in the kitchen. This goes against current health standards and legal restrictions. I paid 50 dollars for food that I dont believe is safe to eat, and they would not contact their manager for an opportunity to refund my order.Edit: this was posted prior to eventually being able to contact the owner/manager who was able to provide a refund, after we had already begun the ride home and made alternative plans for an edible dinner. However, the rest of this review remains true. I could not claim to know every employee, but certainly most staff were not wearing masks; and most importantly not one cook was wearing a mask while preparing food! I have a phone conversation saved in which the owner/manager defends the decision to allow maskless employees, I am happy to include the audio in my report to the department of health. If it was a mistake with my order, I wouldnt have cared; but this a major health concern and people deserve to know if they risk exposing themselves to a deadly illness.
Amazing resturant! Great atmosphere, love the lighting in it. We were served fairly quickly, and the mannerism of the waitress was polite and upbeat. The drinks were great, as well as the food. The taste, amount, and presentation was awesome! There are many different choices on the menu, although it is focused around Italian Foods, (hence the name). Have been here before, and will come back again. If you would like a casual meal in Owego, this a great place for it.

Absolutely DELICIOUS pizza. I was visiting and had to skate 2 miles in the cold with my pizza. It took roughly an hour to get home, but by the time I got home, the pizza was already cold. But the FLAVORS were still so good. Cold or Hot THIS PIZZA IS AMAZING!!!

This was my familys first time in New York.The lady at our hotel suggested we go here for dinner. Being the only African American family there felt awkward at first as we walked in,but that was on our part, no one there made us feel awkward,in fact everyone treated us like family from the staff to the other customers. It was a wonderful experience. And the food was great! I would only suggest they move to a bigger facility,it was crowded,which says a lot about their food and service.

Ordered a large calzone at 4:50 to be done and ready for pick up at 6:00. I waited 40 minutes for my food. Heard the kitchen say my name and that it wasn’t even made. When asked the cashier what happened she said they got backed up. But people coming in after me were getting their food and leaving. My boyfriend called and the staff told him they wanted to make it “fresh” they were told when I got there and the ticket said to be ready at 6. Will not be going back. If I could give 0 stars I would. Completely unimpressed.

Depending on when you visit, atmosphere can be pretty entertaining! I’ll give them that. Years ago, it was always a dependable place for a great slice. These days, it’s hit or miss, but definitely in the tops for the area!Other menu is good, but pricey. Unfortunately, I had an experience of being overcharged by a cashier a couple years back trying to pocket money, and they’ve increased fees way too much for larger orders (or different sauce, to which I’m always given attitude)... which, again, could be avoided by going elsewhere that actually want the business, and won’t make it taste like a heat lamp, or garlic knots that are stale. I recommend for a quick bite for lunch or during live entertainment. If you aren’t from Owego, pre-think your parking situation.
We ordered a pizza and 2 dozen wings plus a salad for dinner tonight. To my shock disgust and surprise not one person in the kitchen was wearing a mask! Especially during this viral pandemic and governors orders. I informed them and they lied completely about being told by the health department they didnt have to! We were so disgusted that we threw away our foodShame on you for not caring about your customers or workers safty.Update I tried those numbers youre owner or manager said that he talked to the health department. Also there is no room for social distancing in your kitchen as required if your not wearing a mask. Elbow to elbow. Front of the house pulling down the mask to go out back.. really hope you werent lying about the health inspector because we will both be calling tm. I just pray no one gets sick from your practi8
Just had their meat lasagna for the first time. It was perfectly made with generous portion amounts (I had to take half of it to go due to being full). Salad, breadsticks, & a dessert was also included with the price of the meal ($13). Will definitely be going back soon

Friends took us here and we were pleased with the food. The slices of pizza are huge and tasty. The homemade sub sandwiches are mammoth. One half of the sandwich filled us with half left for tomorrow. The chicken speidie sub had giant pieces of chicken. The Philly cheese steak sub was packed full as was the chicken parm. Cant wait to go again.

This place is not for everyone, but it is for most! Originals is a hard working establishment that is Iconic to the Historic Town and Village of Owego. The location is in the heart of the community and the food here is true to the region and restaurants heritage. If you are unsure about going here, I can tell you it IS the place to be. It may not be new or super fancy, but the family friendly environment with the delicious food makes the trip to Lake St. completely worth it!
This place has amazing pizza and pasta sauce. I am always skeptical of an Italian place being that your Uncle Gerry is from NYC, but I must say this place was close to what I would get from home. They even make their own bread for heroes (or hoagies around here.)The service was fast and friendly. Im glad I stopped in for lunch.Uncle Gerrys Tip: They have live music in the bar a few nights a week, so its makes for a fun night of dinner, drinks and music.
Classic in the area. Not personally a fan of their thin crust pizza, but a lot of people love it. I recommend their stromboli and big personal pizza rolls. Reasonably priced and they have good deals and sometimes entertainment and events.

When I was in high school I would meet my now fiance here once a week because it was halfway for us. I just went back for the first time in 4 years and it did not disappoint. Wonderful staff. Amazing italian dishes, their bread is great. Prices are good and the portion sizes are HUGE! Will always come back home for some penne ala vodka!
Great Brooklyn pizza from a brooklynite stuck in Owego 😜 In addition to great pizza with a nice crispy thin crust, and fresh made sauce, they have some nice entrees as well.They make a grilled fish and calamari dish in a house made marinara that is just delicious in its simplicity.Monday and Tuesday is their wing night specials, so expect much larger crowds on those days. But I have to say, discount or not, their wings are really really good. The owner is usually there and runs a tight ship, expediting orders and interacting with the customers. Since Im a regular, we usually have a nice pleasant five minute chat while I eagerly await my food to arrive.Overall, I highly recommend the place for a nice variety of Italian dishes. They even have a bar and entertainment on the weekends.

Ok , so this place has always given me food service and the food is good whether it be carry out deliver or you can just eat in. They also have a comedy club venue just next door,same business. Home made breads . I like the stromboli myself. I like spending my money at an establishment that cares about the community around it!
The best Friday night in Owego is at Originals. Brad does an awesome job of show casing local musicians. The food is delicious. The music is never too loud to carry on a conversation. Always a good time.
I grew up in upstate NY and have been to NYC many times over the years. The pizza at Originals is my favorite in upstate, and rivals the best pizza in New York City. I stop there in my travels every chance I get!
Great gf pizza (which is all I can specifically address.) My wife likes all of their pizza and pasta dishes. Good wings and antipasto salads. Adjacent bar is very nice as well.

Great subs and appetizers. Some of the entres are pretty good too. Service is hit or miss, but generally at least decent. Pizza is okay, but not worth the money. Stromboli and calzones are some of the best Ive had though.
They do not know how to make anything wit Parm. I ordered chicken Parm sandwiches and the put chicken in a wrap with No Cheese, and put the sauce in a cup. Are you kidding me?!?! Never again.
Good pizza in a small town, prices tend to be a bit higher than I would expect, especially when compared to Long Island pizza... Bigger slices on the island for the same price. Overall not that bad, service is outstanding.

***My review is for Gluten-Free pizza ONLY*** Its always a nice surprise to find a place that serves gluten-free food.However, people who have a gluten allergy will not find this place to be for them.Reason I say this, is because the dough for the pizza tasted like the dough that you can buy on any gluten-free pizza in a freezer in Wegmans or anywhere. As any gluten-free person knows that type of crust is hard to cook. It can come out mushy burned or even floppy. Mine was half-baked. No crunch.I had a reaction after eating here. I believe that the pizza was made in an oven or near other ingredients that contain gluten enough so that it produced a reaction in me. This was after I resigned myself to not eat the crust and just concentrate on the very yummy sauce and cheese.My boyfriend loved his gnocci meal. I dont want to bring the restaurant ratings down. I would suggest removing the GF pizza from the menu.

The Sicilian pizza is not a Sicilian pizza, it is a sheet Pizza, and they even apologize when you call that its not typically a Sicilian pizza even though they advertise Sicilian pizza. I also got a meatball parm sub, and the bread was very dry.

Since 1991, the BEST place in Owego to get pizza. Hands down, if youre in Owego, go to OIP, as the locals call it. There is a bar with live music, an area for simple sit down dinners (all sorts of American and Italian food!) My personal favorite are the brothers that own it. Theyre an amazing couple of guys and theyll chat with you. Theyre local and really know their business! This is a MUST visit! You will not be disappointed!

Best chicken spedie sub! Especially if you compare it to the Endicotts original italian. When ordering the exact same order I received sub that honestly couldnt be compared.
The Meatball Parm is the best I have ever had as well as the Roast Beef Sandwich. The meatball pizza is super yummy too. Their portions are super sized so over the top. I can only eat half a sandwich. Or 1 slice of pizza or just a third of their chicken alfredo with broccoli. For the same cost of drive thru or subway you get much better quality, portions and value. Family friendly.
Place is amazing food is great but for some reason when you order out and get delivery 1: portions are smaller 2: no matter what you order you always get shorted on sauces.... ive watched this place slowly but surely loose their care about there take out/ delivery wich is a shame bc this place has AMAZING food and homes style Italian and is easily the best in its town and in my opinion one of the best in the local binghamton area

Love Owego oip ate pizza from here for a long time grew up on it has changed owners but still yummy food too much onion and garlic flavor in meat balls over Powers a bit but good.

Homemade dough is used for pizza crust, calzones, stromboli, subs and table bread....delicious!!! Meal portions are ample and you can enjoy a beer with your dining experience.

Wow. I cannot say enough good things about the cold Italian subs here. Its what I always get and will always get. It comes on a huge homemade bread, piled high with meats. So delicious!

2021-12-26My family and I have been coming here for years whenever we are in town visiting. Its a spot that we always love coming too and enjoying lunch or dinner. Service is always wonderful and friendly. Food comes out in a good time. Food has always been delicious when weve gone. Today was my first time trying the cannoli and to my surprise the shell was nice and crisp a nice crunch. I was worried that it was going to be soft and stale. The cannoli was fully filled. Im not too sure if they made them there or get it from a local bakery. Im actually meant to ask but forgot. From pizza, pasta, sandwiches, calzones, wings just about everything is always fabulous.

2022-02-06I love Originals! They have great service and food. I am never disappointed. They even took care of a birthday party at the last minute for us, when Texas Roadhouse left us without a table and then told us to wait outside in 12 degree weather. We called originals and they got a table ready for our large party within 10 minutes. We appreciated everything they did and our meal was fantastic!

2022-03-21Ordered a half sheet party pack, came with 10 wings and a 2 liter of soda. Ordered my son a spaghetti dinner and fries. His French fries were raw, basically blanched potatoes and his spaghetti didnt come with any red sauce, just plain boiled noodles. No complaints on the pizza as it was pretty good. The wings didnt come with celery and the blue cheese was foul unfortunately.

2020-10-31We started with a slice of pepperoni pizza that was good. I had the the fat cat veal sub that was very good. I have to say the fresh cooked roll made the sub great. I had the fresh cut fries for a side and they were soggy otherwise they would of got five stars. My wife had the steak special that she enjoyed that she liked and said the roll was good to. Place was clean and staff was Friendly.

2022-04-2650% of the time the pizza is good exactly what we ordered. The other 50% it is not. Tonight was the last straw for myself and my husband and we have collectively decided to no longer order from here. Our order is simple and never changes. We get two pizzas, light sauce on each, one with pepperoni and meatball other plain baked on the darker side. On more than one occasion this has been messed up. We’ve gotten undercooked pizza, missing toppings, a white sauce pizza instead of the light sauce cheese, and tonight both pizzas were excessively saucy to the point the dough was super soft and almost soggy. Super disappointed as this is one of the only pizza delivery places we can get to us. Hopefully they improve but we’ll never know.

2021-04-20Had wings and a large piece of pizza and two beers. Service was great and prices were very reasonable. The wings were some of the best Ive had in a while. Beer was super cold wich is a plus. I will definitely return here.

2020-02-03Wow! Im from Western MA and happened to randomly pick this place for a quick takeout dinner while on business travel. I was not disappointed!!!! The locals have this thing called speedies, and it was really good! And the salad was crisp and fresh, I would highly recommend this place. Definitely have it bookmarked for a future visit!
