Had a super small wedding in Central Park in early January. Wed planned our big gathering before COVID-19 and wanted to keep our date and be safe. We ordered the Orange Olive Oil cake with mascarpone filling and buttercream. This is a delicious, moist, and dense cake. It was very rich, and very tasty. Padoca worked with a florist to get the look we wanted. They also delivered the cake exactly on time and for a very reasonable fee. I feel the price, the product, and service were perfect!
This bakery is one of my favorite places to have a good time in the morning grabbing a good coffee, the site is cozy, it offers free Wi-Fi, the coffee is very good and the pastries drive me crazy! But, I found that its expensive, or more specifically, overpriced. The staff have always a smile and are very fast with the orders. A good thing is that they have a card to stamp with your coffee order to get one free every 10 stamps. FYI: There is no bathroom.
Padoca Bakery is one of my favorite places in NYC. Its perfect for caregivers who have loved ones getting treatment at MSKCC or other nearby hospitals. If you want to eat gluten free, there are options such as the DELICOUS PDQs and more. I really like the almond butter cookies too. The window seats look over to St Catherine Park where there is a lot of happy activity going on. Highly recommend!!
The PDQ, Brazilian cheese bread, is a dream come true for those who must be or choose to be gluten free. Delicious! Other gluten free treats include hearty PDQ sandwiches, soups, wonderful banana chocolate chip bread as well as plenty of selections that are not gluten free. The red velvet brownie is life changing!
This is the second time we have ordered a cake from Padoca Bakery, and we hope to continue ordering in the future. Megan is so professional, a dream to work with, and very responsive. Everyone loves the cakes, taste and design. Always delivered right on time too ! Highly recommend Padoca Bakery, you won’t be disappointed .
I had a piece of Padoca cake at a reception at The Bowery Mission (nonprofit homeless services agency) last night and it was amazing! I took a bite expecting the typical birthday party cake taste and was delighted by its delicious flavor and texture (both the sponge and fillings). Havent stopped thinking about it since and would definitely recommend. I also learned later that Padoca made a point to deliver the cakes to The Bowery Mission to support the organizations work. Great business!
I love this place! Whenever someone visits me from out of town I always bring them to Padoca. The food is delicious, the staff is friendly, and the atmosphere makes you feel instantly comfortable. I usually get the PDQ sandwich with bacon and a cup of coffee. Theyre both amazing! PDQ bread is also a must. Nothing but good things to say about Padoca Bakery.
The food was delicious (I had the egg and bacon brioche) and so was the drink (hot apple cider). Id been meaning to stop by this bakery for a while and Im very happy that I did. The atmosphere is relaxing and the seating comfortable. The decorations (both festive and regular) are very cute. All in all, I think Ill be coming back!
Pricey, but unique and tasty! Their Brazilian cheese bread (pdk) tasted just like what I had when I was in Bolivia. Loved it. Their space is airy and clean, and the store hasnt been too crowded when I have visited. The staff has never been very nice, but honestly it doesnt matter after I take a bite of the food.
Bakery offers a selection of freshly baked breakfast loaves, muffins, pound cake. My favorite is the zucchini loave, moist and crispy on the edges. Their oatmeal soup is delicious!!! The Baristas are friendly and always get my latte right. They also have a good selection of lunch sandwiches. The place is small, bright and tastefully decorated.
Nice place I have gone for my lunch break so far. Or maybe I was lucky since it was a holiday. Either way the coffee was good and they were offering free cookies. Yes please!! Did I see oatmilk as an option do you know how expensive oatmilk is to have put in the counter for everyone! Thank you!
Great drinks and bakery items. Their hot apple cider is a certain hit on a cold day. Ours was excellent. Top choices are the PDQ Brazilian Cheese Bread and the Chocolate + Dulce de Leche Swirl. The cheese bread is light a fluffy. It is delicious. The swirl is like a mix between a chocolate crescent and a cinnamon roll.
Ive never been to a real padoca, but for the rest of us normies, this bakery is friggin delicious. The PDQs are amazing and all of the other pastries I tried here were some of the best Ive ever had.Sunday brunch food is great as well, get yourself an avocado BLT on a PDQ. Youll be able to die happy.Let me tell you something else as an update! I recently needed some cakes for a few events I held. These things were the most delicious cakes Ive ever eaten. Had 4 different varieties. If you have a bday or an event where you need a cake this is a great go to. Also the staff in here are just delightful.
Absolutely horrible experience. I came here for breakfast on my way to work. I paid $14 for a breakfast sandwich and a simple drip coffee only to stand there for 15 mins seeing everyone else coming and going. I finally asked the status of my order only for them to have no idea about it. The lady at the register hastily gave me a coffee with no sleeve (so my hand was burning) and then promptly ignored me. Apparently only then did they start my sandwich, which took another 10-12 minutes. The staff was so uncaring & the only reason I didn’t cancel the order and ask for a refund was because I couldn’t get the attention of anyone else to help me. Needless to say I was late to work and ate a hastily thrown together mediocre breakfast sandwich. I recommend that you go to the next door bakery where everything is $2 and they take care of you.
Might seem odd to write a review for a bakery from which youve never sampled anything...I had to rush order something for a coworkers birthday and didnt end up going with Padoca but they tried to be SO accommodating and really tried to win my business. We ended up just having to get a store cake because of timing and work schedules but I really appreciate Megan and her team trying to do whatever they could to get me a cake in under 24 hours (including emailing me and calling me back and then me calling back when another cake fell through...oof). Will definitely be planning to order from them (which more advanced notice) in the future.
Worst experience! Honestly was my first visit asked for a fresh chocolate chip cookie and I hear the baker saying sorry those are baked for tomorrow! Why would you have FRESH BAKED cookies for TOMORROW? What kind of service is this? And I asked for a latte after I ordered and paid for it they say sorry the steamer is not working would u like to order tea?? Tea? I asked for coffee and your telling me this after i ordered? Please learn how to treat your customers or you better just close this bakery! Careless service!
I ordered two lattes and two egg sandwiches to eat in. At first I was told there was only one egg left, but then they said they’d be able to make it no problem. For some reason one latte was given to me in a to-go cup and with one extra shot (which is how it was charged on the receipt). After ten minutes I inquired about the egg sandwiches, and was told they were still being made. Five minutes later I was given one of the sandwiches, and told the other was on the way. After another ten minutes I asked, and apparently it was not being made. I asked for a refund for the sandwich and ended up leaving after waiting for over 25 minutes.I don’t understand why it’s so complicated to make two lattes and two breakfast sandwiches. Also, if it’s going to take >15 minutes to make a simple sandwich at a counter service coffee shop when there’s no one else waiting then you may want to let the customer know.
My holidays were super incredible, all thanks to the amazing Pastries of Padoca Bakery!!! Delicious and very hard to find Sufganiyot with Dulce de Leche, cheese Puffs and Unforgettable Ginger Cookies, ohh can eat those every day!!!Thank you for making my holidays happy and sweet!!
You could rarely go wrong with their food. They have a Challah Avocado Toast that is to die for (and a lot of food for one person). On weekdays, its a traditional Avocado Toast topped with feta. On weekends, they serve it with egg and tomatoes. Its juicy and served on two thick slices of challah. I would always share that with one other person; too much just for one.
This is the place to get fresh Pan de Queijo (PDQ). They, also, sell it frozen. Apparently, The frozen one survived a trip to Russia with icepacks.Their other pastries are soo delicious. Orange and olive oil cake was very soft and moist. They gave me instructions on how to bake PDQ at home. They even have sandwiches made wuth PDQ. I believe PDQ Is vegetarian. Check with their staff, they woulx know.
This bakery is in prime location for business next to St Catherines Park where kiddos, moms, dads and nannies reign supreme also near major hospitals and clinics. In my judgement it lacks what is needed to make it a popular neighborhood staple. The seating area is small, there are no bathrooms for guests, def a more grab and go spot. Marketed as more of a gourmet style bakery, but I was underwhelmed. The PDQ ($2.75) was average; the small chicken empanada ($3.25ish) wasnt good due to bland flavor, needs to be warmed plus Im suspicious of meat that is left out unrefrigerated 😵 The saving grace is the chocolate cookie which was melt-in-your-mouth delicious!
Always drop in here for my coffee when visiting to work at MSK. Friendly staff, quick service and good coffee (could be a little stronger but I should ask for an extra shot and usually forget) but I really come back for the pastries and other baked goodies which are awesome!
Brazilians will be disappointed as nothing here resembles a real padoca (nickname for bakery in Brazil). Dont expect to find the combo pao na chapa and pingado here. But dont get me wrong: their bakery selection is decent with some brazilian products such as pao de queijo (cheese balls/puffs) and empadas (a kind of a shortcrust savory pie, not to be confused with empanadas). Expect a high price tag on everything.
WE had a very bad experience with MEGAN SESIL who should never been working there. She is rude and direspectful.. She is not nice with we COSTUMERS and even the staff. Somenoe like her should never be in touch with costumers. Ill be contacting the owner and explaning to them what she has done.

2022-05-31First-The Brazilian PDQ rolls are divine…cheesy inside these delicious crusty rolls and such a treat that’s made out of cassava flour! I’ve been enjoying them since they appeared here on the UES…They’ve got amazing birthday cakes in orange olive oil, vanilla and chocolate cake with loads of buttercream frosting…As well as loaf cakes in chocolate chocolate chip, orange olive oil, zucchini (seasonal ), banana with chocolate chips to name a few…Try their special hot drinks - grandma’s milk ( with Dulce de Leche mixed in), and seasonal iced teas…

2017-12-13This place has excellent coffee and pastries. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. The food is delicious and creative. They are very inventive with their food items and there are plenty of creations here that you wont find anywhere else. The only knock is that the food is pretty expensive for what it is , but it is still generally worth it.PDQ is their bread filled with cheese , which is a great snack !
