Absolutely amazing people work here. Always smiling and happy. The food is always delicious, super fast to come out and large portions. Gluten free options available. Obviously the pancakes are the best but everything is really good. Has lunch food as well, like burgers etc. Highly recommend.
Stopped in here the other day and I was pleasantly surprised. This place has a very nostalgic feel...old school ketchup bottles and syrup containers, a counter to sit at, etc. I loved it! Now let’s get to the food. The pancakes were awesome, nice and fluffy. I had the home fries too and they were also good. What’s so special about this place though is the hospitality. I was provided with such friendly service. I’ll be back for sure
The waitresses are super friendly. Food is served very quickly and it is delicious. It is a very busy place no surprise there. Even though they are busy the waitresses come around asking you of you would like a refill on your coffee and making sure you are OK. The price is reasonable. Had really good French toast with a side of strawberries. Yummy!
Ordered gluten free banana pancakes. The two that arrived were each about 9 across, hot, and delicious - bananas mixed right into the batter. Place was busy at 10am on a Sunday morning, but seats were available at the counter. Staff was friendly and my coffee cup never went empty.
Absolutely the best choice for breakfast. The only place ive ordered from that makes PERFECT bacon. Thank God. Not burnt or fatty like other places. A perfect bacon egg and cheese! I ordered from Grubhub this morning and i was pleasantly suprised how fast it got here.
Locally owned, hidden treasure. The staff was warm and kind. The pancakes were the best combo: giant, fluffy, and perfectly sweet. They even have vegan, vegetarian , and gluten free friendly options. There’s something for everyone here at this amazing breakfast spot. It’s a must try for everyone and now a regular spot for me.We also felt very safe with their COVID precautionary measures.
Pancakes plus has a good old fashion breakfast menu with good food. There are also lunch options. My husband loves their pancakes and I love the home fries which have a nice flavor. Somebodys throwing some sazon on that. :) The chicken pita is also really good and so are their salads. They close at three so you want to get there early enough. Parking can be a challenge for breakfast. Overall the food is pretty good. And the service is exceptional. They work really hard to please their customers. Our favorite breakfast place.
Finding this place for the first time can be a little tricky. It is in a unusual area, I mean the building itself was clearly made and originally zoned for industrial /warehouse. There is a busy garage part of the same complex. Look for an event banner hanging over the door and you will know you are in the right place. Once you are inside, be prepare for some serious breakfast. Pancakes Plus says it all. Ordered the Blueberry pancakes which were fantastic. They use real blueberries and plenty of them. The eggs, potatoes and toast were great as well. Server was awesome and people inside were nice as well. Just a great experience. Love these places , never judge a place by its cover. They own breakfast at Pancakes Plus.
Best pancakes Ive ever had! They have a wide selection of food including burgers, sandwiches, pancakes, french toast and omlettes. They offer gluten free pancakes too. They have red velvet, pumpkin, chocolate and a wide array of fruit pancakes (real fresh fruit!!). Very nice staff. I like their t-shirts too, wouldnt mind having one. I ate at the breakfast bar which was so fun because they were playing animal planet on TV. I would definitely come back. I had apple and blueberry pancakes, scrambled eggs and coffee. I was so happy they had almond milk because I cant have real milk. The pancakes are large (taking up most of the plate), soft and fluffy! Their home fries have a very delicious orange colored seasoning with little flecks of what I think is green pepper. I snagged a few bites from my friends plate. Definitely give this place a try.
Very friendly. Great breakfast deals. Excellent banana walnut pancakes (even though I would prefer the bananas to be cut into thinner slices than the thick slices). Very reasonable prices. Not a fan of home fries in hash browns in general so you can take my opinion with a grain of salt, but the corned beef hash was particularly grainy with a spam like flavor which was not my cup of tea. Will return when in the area.
I love coming here for the simple fact that it’s a local-owned family establishment that serves up good basic food. Nothing fancy, but the quality is there unlike the bigger diners in the surrounding area. My only gripe is that there is always a ten to fifteen wait almost every Sunday. A bigger space with a better layout is definitely in order.
Pancakes plus is my favorite breakfast spot: period. My friends and I frequent this place for breakfast. They have lunch foods as well and when I’ve had it, it was delicious. The prices are more than fair and the portions are often ridiculous. Most important, the food is delicious. Definite recommend.
This is my first time coming to this cafe and I came here mostly for takeout (lunch) and the prices are reasonable. And they deliver what you ask for. And they have an old fashioned Cash Register (Machine) which is a big plus in my book and for the restaurant. And they have a chalkboard in which they write the daily specials. And they have about 3-5 people at that cafe including the owner himself. They have been around for more than 15 years. The only thing is that they are open from 7am-3pm daily. And next to it there is a Carousel Cakes Bakery next to it because this cafe does not have pies or cakes available. So this is an excellent place to go to if you want to avoid the big chain diners/restaurants and big chain fast food restaurants that are out there.
A marvelous breakfast eatery in an unexpected location. Everything is good here. The staff is courteous, quick and has possibly the most multicultural mix of any restaurant in the Hudson Valley (seriously!). There’s typically a line on weekends but stick it out if it’s your first time coming, definitely worth the wait.
Consistently enjoyable breakfast spot. Pancakes look fabulous and people rave about them. Coffee excellent. Omelettes fresh, delicious and nothing is ever greasy. Just fresh and simple. Dont want home fries? No problem. Easily offer substitute of tomato and lettuce or this time had grilled tomatoes. Just delicious.
We will never eat here again. After being consistent patrons of this establishment for several years, the owner and his unfiltered guests are conservative far right wing republicans with no regard with the people around them. Please keep you political views out of my face and out of my meal.
Stopped here for breakfast on my way to Bear Mountain...my all time favorite hiking place. I had the absolute best pancakes here. The pancakes were whole wheat as we requested it with walnuts and bananas in it and they were huge. They were much better than most pancake places. I wish I had one near my town.
I was very disappointed. This place had such high praise and a high rating.Atmosphere was bland. The servers were very unconventional.I had pancakes, eggs and bacon. Eggs were perfectly fine, sort of hard to mess that up though. Bacon quality matched that of a cheap hotel breakfast. The Pancakes though? These ginormous circles of bread. Lacked flavor. Texture was tough. Dry. Even the pumpkin pancakes were on the dry side.
Great breakfast location in Rockland. Just a minute or two from Rockland bakery. Overall good breakfast spot. Always busy on weekends and there is often a bit of a wait. They were nice about splitting checks when I went with friends. It was enjoyable. On par with ihop breakfast.
Visiting family in town and we went out for breakfast. From the outside, it doesnt look like much. Inside, it looks like something untouched by time. The food, is delicious. I dont know what it is about dinner coffee but it was great too.Its also home to an endangered species, I believe this is the last payphone in the world. Its in good spirits so stop by and feed it a quarter or two.
My family have been loyal customers for years. The food is good, not great, but good, and at nominal prices. Ironically, their pancakes are nothing to desire, theyre just big in size, but not in taste. There are not too many options in this area, so thats the only reason why this place does so well, since theres no real competition in the immediate area.Considering that weve been loyal customers for years, we expect to be treated like valued customers. One time we had an incident with one of the waitresses, which was unprofessional on her end, and we complained about it and we decided not to tip her based on the poor service provided by that waitress. The next time we went, we unfortunately had the same waitress again, and she seemed to have been holding a grudge and she gave us such an attitude the whole time (again, unprofessional), but we were going to tip her anyway, despite her attitude. When we received the check, we noticed that she took the liberty to add a 15% tip to our bill. We thought that was odd because after coming here for so many years, weve never experienced that. So when I went to pay the tab & I looked at all the other checks that were near the register, and none of them had a tip added to it. So I questioned the guy on the register if applying the tip was a new policy, and he said, well, you didnt tip the last time. WOW, really?? Weve been loyal customers for years, we always tip at least 15-20%, and the one time we withheld gratuity for valid reasons, they now treat us differently? Firstly, gratuity is optional and at the discretion of the consumer. Its not even legal to add gratuity to a tab. Theres ways around it to make it legal, but you would have to charge it as a service fee. No one obviously goes to the extent as to ensue litigation for being charged gratuity, and thats why many restaurants get away with it, which is fine, but if youre going to implement it to one client, then you must implement it to every client. You dont single out 1 customer based on a prior experience that theyve had with your unprofessional staff.Long story short, we gave them the benefit of the doubt and continued to eat there, and another waitress added tip to our bill after gossiping with the other waitresses. Im sorry, but this is not how you operate a business. Do this to a few more people and youll see how fast the word will spread and your business will be affected negatively. Unfortunately for them, weve decided to take our business elsewhere. Weve found 2 great diners, one is called the Stony Point Pancake Factory in Stony Point, and Orangetown Diner in Orangeburg, NY. Great food, great service, no forced gratuity, and professional staff! You guys at Pancakes Plus need to get your heads out of the clouds, go take some business etiquette crash courses, regroup & retrain your staff and learn how to operate a business with professionalism, morals, and learn to value your loyal customers. Shame on you!!!
May not seem like much from the outside, but inside you have a great dinner with good prices. Breakfast is my favorite there with plenty of options to choose from. Service is good, but the place can get busy, which can slow things down. Highly recommend this place for a quick Sunday morning breakfast.
I havent been here in years but remember it being phenomenal- I moved back to the area and the lady and I woke up hungry and I wanted to show her a local spot she would love. We were not disappointed even after all these years! (5or so )Anyone who knocks this place is super critical theres a reason its almost 5 stars!!!!theres some miserable Fu*ks out there sadly who cant find the good in nothing - the place is not meant to be made over like a comment I read above - just like an old school pizza joint thats how this place feels to me and its proper and clean always. And UNCONVENTIONAL servers? What were you hoping they would do perform a circus act lol ..Bravo pancakes plus !!!! My only recommendation to the management (as a fellow business owner) PUT THE MENU ONLINE!!! and consider a delivery option through Grubhub or Seamless and watch those profits go way up !!!

2022-04-27We visited on a Monday morning, (we are not locals) it was not busy. We went off of other peoples reviews. We ordered an omelet and pancakes with bacon. Home fries and pancakes were my favorite. Ask for whipped cream- it was the best Ive tried, probably home made. Friendly laid back atmosphere, fast service, reasonable prices. From the outside, the place doesnt look like much of anything, but inside its clean and nice for a breakfast diner. Chloe was our server and she was great, talkative and friendly. Lots of options on the menu for breakfast.

2022-05-22Very unfortunate to have eaten hear alone. After bring seated at a booth for two, which I did not request, I placed my order and received coffee. Then I was approached by the owner in a most excited, hostile manner, telling me that I never should have been seated at a booth. That was a mistake. It could get very busy. It was 2 pm and there were several empty tables and booths and no crowd waiting. I asked if he wanted me to leave. No, I was told, but he hoped that I wasnt planning on having a leisurely meal. He hoped that I would be quick and not take my time. He kept on firing comments at me and did not relent. I almost spit out my coffee. He has no consideration for me as a patron. I was made to feel insignificant and unwanted. I actually felt bad for my server who kept apologizing although his employer did not.I ate quickly and told the owner how I felt before leaving. He saw how upset I was and offered an empty apology with excuses. I said that I hoped he never had anyone speak to him that way or to make him feel small. I left wondering if he had a problem with single people dining, woman, or if he was just a jerk. Possibly all three? Still empty booths when I left. The pancakes just werent that good or worth the negative experience.

2022-04-05Want good breakfast food up til they close? Go for it. Friendly, fast, and the food is good. If you need caffeine, theyll top you cup off every time they walk by. The decor is a little dated but its clean and welcoming. Bring your friends and enjoy a meal together.

2022-04-01First time here, been wanting to try this spot out for a while. Has an old school diner vibe. Definitely a locals favorite. Food was great and so was our waitress. Coffee was also good and price point was spot on. I recommend trying the House special#2 which comes with two big pancakes, two eggs, and your choice of meat (I went with the sausage). I really enjoyed the atmosphere and the food, Ill definitely be back with my family. Thanks 👍

2022-06-26LOVELY breakfast place! Especially if you enjoy unorganized wait staff and MICE running around your feet while you eat food you didn’t order! Really completes the place. WONT be back

2018-06-25Dont let the rough exterior deceive you, this is a decent restaurant. They had a large selection of breakfast options, some Ive never seen before, which was pretty cool. The pancakes were okay, just a little too heavy for my taste. But the deli benedict was super unique and delicious. I would definitely stop by again to try some other unique food.

2021-12-03What a cute breakfast spot! This is what I imagine when you hear the word cafe. Great service. The food is excellent and plentiful. You can have a tasty and filling breakfast or lunch for a very decent price. The menu is large, and everything I have ordered has never disappointed. You cant go wrong giving this place a try.
