Their food is good but they have no customer service skills...no patient, rude they nice to only people they personally know. When they servicing your food they give what they and when u try to explain or tell them what u want they give u attitude. Im paying its not free so I have the choice to get I want. At the end of the day they lack customer service skills and management needs to take all the employees to go learn some CS skills...

Delicious Ghanian West African food. Very friendly staff and patrons. We had Turkey tails with fresh tomato and onions, and two sauces on the side. Our main entree was goat with white rice and a delicious spinach dish. Absolutley loved the meal and welcoming environment. There arent any bells and whistles but I definitely recommend.

The food was delicious. We ordered the tilapia and jollof rice. It was fresh and just the way I like it. Service was fast and friendly. If Im ever in the area again I would definitely come back.
Papa ye is a place I go to eat any time Im in NYC. Their food is excellent, but customer service is another thing. I was there not long ago and while I was waiting in line with another customer, the janitor was about to mop the floor. At the same time clients were waiting in line to be served. The janitor mopped the floor while patrons were waiting instead of waiting for the floor to be emptied. For the matrons, please smiling doesnt hurt.Youve good food, but customer service needs improvement. Good bye from the great North!
I personally liked what I purchased but my coworker who happens to be from Ghana did not enjoy her food.. she said the meat was to tough and she was unable to bite and chew the goat that she ordered... I really like the food but it was a little pricey
The food here is good. The customer service here, however, is not. Its almost like you are doing them a favor by coming to patronize their business. The wait is unnecessarily long, you dont get specific orders , if you dont speak the language, you may get sub standard treatment... I went back in December 2018 and the service.ia still poor. You wait and there are people behind th4 counter doing other things. You dont get a sense of being served. Youre better off going to another establishment.
I have purchased food here for sometime now. N despite their food ok n nice. The workers are terrible. They waste so much time talking when there is long queue. Sometimes u expect at least 4 people serving the food but u find one or two. Very slow n engages in useless conversation with each other instead of serving people faster. Many occasions I get pissed of n leave without buying the food. Chinese people dont work like that. They are So fast cus they dont wanna loose any customer. Not papaye
Am not sure if only drunkards eat there. The amount of pepper in their soup, khebab etc is beyond craziness... Food taste good but you need an iced water by your side. Not a good place to eat by people with stomach issues
I always rave about this place because I love the food here. The reason why I am giving Papaye such a low rating is because I visited the store on June 11 and I got my regular Jollof and Meat to find out that my food was SPOILED. I got home 20 mins after ordering my food and I knew something wasnt right when I tasted the stew. The smell was horrific after 30 mins of opening the lid. I am very disappointed and I will not be eating here again.
Eating at papaye restaurant is traveling back home in a heart beat. The food is well prepared and not too salty. The environment is clean and the costumer service is professional. I love to bring my associates here to discover African cuisine.
Although, im not from any of the countries from africa, Ive been eating fufu, goat meat and okra for years ( 14 years to be exact), and this restaurant has had the worst. When I brought the food home, I had two to three bites before I had to throw the stew away. The stew ( or something in the stew) was definitely spoiled (the fufu was fine so I saved that lol). The stew had a really strong off putting stench of rotten meat/meat gone bad that was somewhat masked by the spices. A few hours later I had really bad diarrhea and felt really sick for about 24 hours.I regularly eat goat meat and I know that goat has a gamey smell to it, esp smokeys, goat meat with the charred skin on ( which i like). The meat at this place has definitely gone bad 👎, never coming here again and I am planning to file a report with the health department.
Today at 183rd st - Server quotes $14.00 per big plate of jollof rice & $12.00 for small plate buh an older man aka cashier quotes $15.00 for big plate of jollof rice- very sad & impression was unprofessional at all

Good good but the place didnt look presentable when I first visited. Someone open the door to their kitchen to bring my order and I didnt really like what I saw..that was my first time there about 5 weeks ago. Havent been there again do i cant say if things have changed
This place is awesome and roomy, the menu was enchanting and the rates were very affordable. fast, productive service and very attentive waiters. I highly recommend this place.

The food here is decent. Not the best waakye in New York, but if you’re looking for a quick meal this is the place to go. My only issue with this place really is the customer service. Not the friendliest people working here and the service is honestly very slow.
My husband is from Ghana and absolutely loved this place. He heard about it from some friends and stated that it was the best food from his country that he has had in the states.
I cant handle spicy foods at all but that does not take away from how delicious it was nonetheless 😋

I was soo starving after a long day. I rarely go to the bronx because i dont have a reason to go. But having a craving for west african food drove me here. It was really good choice.I had the joloff rice with a side of fried turkey butt. Just simply amazing!! Then because my eyes were bigger than my stomach i ordered the fofou with okra and goat meat. Which is also great despite the overwhelming spice, but i managed.So for sure a must go!!

Great Ghanaian food, with an a thorough and varying selection of food options. The only drawback is that it is cash only and some of the food selections are not available until later in the day. The jollof and waakye are my favorites, as well as the fried yams.
The food is horrible been having stomach pain and have issues going back and forth to the bathroom I called the restaurant to let them know the lady that takes the order was being nasty over the phone

2019-09-07Came here for lunch a few weeks ago and it was a little disappointing. The line had about 10 people ahead of me and still had about a hour wait. How ridiculous. The owner was working the register but he seemed more like the help as he has SOOO many questions for the staff about pricing. I ordered okra soup w pounded yam. The soup was VERY oily and it red... Red? some of you are thinking the same thing as me. Unless they discovered a new vegetable how is the soup red??? It must of been Banga soup or heavily doused in palm oil as I only had 1 piece of okra in the entire bowl. The jelloff rice was fine it tasted like it was made in a pressure cooker instead of over the counter which takes longer and more effort but the flavor and quality is worth it. Moving on I would recommend you grab and go if you stop by for lunch. Although there is seating it isnt advised.

2019-01-02I was on a friendly date. I felt safe on till one huge dud came inside and asked me for $1. I said I dont have any more money. He sat down about two tables from me and started looking at me. He kept on for about 20 minutes lml😄😂. I was kind of scared.On the other hand, I enjoyed the Ghanaian food😋. My friend said its called waakye.
