I was expecting a better eperience. If you are looking for a quick bite that is near where you live/work this maybe the spot. However, if you have time and want a better colombian restuarant then I would look elsewhere. I ordered the daily soup lunch special, and honestly it was subpar to other colombian restuarants like la fogata, or la ruana paisa. The soup was water down, and i got a bout load of rice and no protien. It all added to close to $15-not good.
Nice small spot for any meal at a reasonable price.Had their main dish “Paraiso Colombiano” which tasted great and for those who want to take food home.Service was 4/5. Our server was awesome but you can tell she needed another hand on the floor which did cause some delay.
Primero, amazing overall. Had a great experience. Great music, TV, and cleanliness. Guanabana was great. Rice and beans were great, bandeja paisa looked good, etc. Yes I’m Colombian may seem bias, though I am not going to simply give anyone 5 stars. Trust me lol. This place got it tho and they have cash app, Zelle, PayPal, Venmo so if you forgot wallet you be aight . Enjoy people who get to have this delicious food! Thank you for the great service Paraíso Colombia!
Im from manhattan and was currently in queens for the day, so i wanted to have some colombian food. Came to Paraiso Colombiano and was assisted by Christian. Christian was a great host and took well care of me and other customers. The menu was great but i always get my all time favorite, the traditional dish. The food was delicious with great taste. Will defitinely come back here and recommend it to others as well.
We tried this spot because it has great reviews and I’m here to give a great review myself. The food was delicious and extremely affordable. We only had breakfast here and I ordered the Carne Asada with rice and beans and eggs. Super simple but really good! Looking forward to going back.
Late posting, my family and I visited Paraiso Colombiano during the summer. We wanted to sit in the outdoor dining area but it was a little warm. The waiter, whom I should have gotten his name, was incredibly accommodating. He did everything within his power to make us feel comfortable. First, he took out a large fan for us, second, he lowered the volume of the music for the children. And he did everything with graciousness, eagerness and a smile. When the food came out, it was beyond expectation. I ordered the mixed platter, and literally everything was good, the steak, chicken, chicharron, and even the fried egg!! I do hope to visit again in the near future.
The food was mouthwatering and delicious! Thank you Carolina for the amazing service and for explaining all the food items. If you are hesitant of trying Colombian food, I would recommend you go here because it is one of the best Colombian Restaurants in New York! They have an amazing bartender as well. His name is Hernando and he makes some amazing cocktails! He is very kind and very generous with the amount of alcohol in the drinks. I will definitely be coming back! Gracias!
Very great experience and service. The waiter Hernando was extremely friendly and helpful. He asked several times whether I needed my wear to be refillee and quickly cleared a new table for me when I preferred to sit outside. The chicken with mushrooms was really flavorful and honestly the best cooked meat which I had in a while. 5 stars and good luck to the establishment :)
Today was my first time at this place and I love it. The food tasted amazing, it was like homemade. I had the chicken breast with mushrooms sauce, delicious, I highly recommend it. In addition, Hernado provides a very good service, always checking the table , if everything was ok. Filling up glasses with water. Thank you so much Hernando
My girlfriend and I stopped by for lunch on our way to Benfaremo Lemon Ice King (just one block up the street!) before heading to LaGuardia and we were blown away by everything. The food and service are phenomenal. We got the pork chops and the steak with mushroom sauce and were incredibly pleased with both. Their rice was fluffy, buttery, and delicious. Their tostones were wonderfully thin and crispy with just the right amount of salt! Huge portions of food, we both left full and satisfied!! I cannot recommend Paraiso Colombiana enough!
The food tasted and looked like it was freshly made. You can tell this place takes their time while preparing your food. The steak was juicy and cooked to our preference. Every Thing we ate was seasoned perfectly and I couldn’t say one bad thing about the food. The owner was very friendly and we felt welcomed. Due to COVID we were seated outside. Even tho it was hot out we enjoyed the atmosphere and people watching. If we are in the neighborhood we would definitely stop by again.
I went about a week ago with a couple of friends and overall the experience was great! we ordered the steak in mushrooms with rice and beans along with other dishes. The waiter was very kind but my friend thought he called us gays but my girlfriend heard guys. The food is very good and the price is very reasonable!!
Incredible and Fantastic Service, our food came out super fast and our waiter, Carolina was extremely kind! She recommended us to try the Tira De Entrana which was so tender and melted in my mouth. Their Cazuela De Mariscos was also very good, much better than La Pequena Colombia! The food was so good that I want to travel to Colombia now! The people at the restaurant are so warm hearted and welcoming, you wont regret going! If you cant go, you can make a delivery with Don William and he will get you your food fast and hot!
We came here because of the review. The food was excellent. We had the skirt steak and it was perfected. The food actually matched the pic in the menu compare to other places. Well seasoned and with some sour into it. Service was good although tiny little bit slow. I will definitely come again and they are also on seamless if you dont want to travel.
Hello! Ive been several times to this restaurant and it never disappoints . My first time was back in 2015 and the food was amazing , im Colombian myself so the flavor is pretty authentic and thats hard to come around . For the past 3 years Since i moved somewhat closer to the area ive been going here more frequently and the last time i went with my family it was a hit ! Good ambience , amazing food , pretty cool music and service is overall great! It wont disappoint and pricing is fair . Check them out !!!
So the restaurant is small but the food was amazing ! I had breaded shrimp ( which were big and clearly hand breaded to perfection! ) with rice and sweet plantains ... the service was GREAT ! They have this ketchup/mayo sauce but they add something else to it that makes it 100 times better.. it was so good that I put it on EVERYTHING ! Anyone who is in queens needs to go to this restaurant you won’t regret it
Good food, great service, beautiful neighbor, this is different than any other Colombian restaurant. The flavor is original, the fish is always fresh, and they really make sure you are happy with the food and service. I would drive 2 hours just to eat here. The funny part is that I found out about this restaurant just by pure coincidence. Now I love it, after Jean George restaurants this is my favorite.
*Good fresh food, indoor dining, credit card accepted, allergen friendly, child friendly, has high chairs, delivery available, friendly staff*Nice fresh Colombian food made to order. Ate there twice with a gluten allergy and had no issues whatsoever. Food was great - chorizo, steak, chicken and pork chops were all good. Would be better if had more fat / less lean to make it more filling. Wasnt a fan of the pork belly but plenty other things to choose from. Our server Christian was great, really accommodating and friendly despite us having annoying kids. Kids enjoyed the sausage and fries.
My husband and I are from out of state, we were looking for Colombian comfort food and decided to stop by. So happy we did, the food was absolutely delicious, friendly and welcoming atmosphere. Our waiter Christian was so nice and very helpful. I would definitely recommend coming to Paraíso Colombiano, you won’t regret it!
The food was delicious and brought out fast! The staff was welcoming and friendly! If you are in the area you must check it out! So convenient it’s just minutes from La Guardia airport!La comida estaba deliciosa y buen servicio! Se los recomiendo! Gracias por la atención!
Stopped by on a Saturday with my family and we ordered the paraiso platter. It was a big serving, Ivan recommended that dish as two can eat from it, poor Ivan forgot my drink and a few details of my order. Less calories I said to my wife. The food was ok, it lacked flavor but it wasnt bad. The service was good Ivan was very attentive.
So so so very good! Come here! Cozy little place but the food is excellent and flavorful. Satisfies all your cravings. Christian was very helpful with the menu, making sure I knew what came with each dish (girls gotta have her sides) and suggesting a dish of two I was thinking of. Go here! Can I come back? Will you guys open for breakfast???
El Paraíso Colombiano it’s a brand new restaurant located in Corona Queens. The restaurant has a variety of Typical Colombian dishes such as “La Bandeja Paisa” that is one of my favorite typical Colombian meals. The place was pretty busy @dinner time. It has outdoor as well as indoor sitting. It’s expanding its outdoor capacity in this present time. It has a waiting bench & 2 tables of 4 outside and 6 tables inside. The restaurant Server Hernando was attentive as well as the Host Christian. The food was delicious. It’s great choice not to cook the next day because the orders are good enough for 2 people. The restaurant is family oriente!
This family owned restuarant is a great place to eat if you are looking for traditional Colombian food as well as other other Latin American dishes. The staff is friendly, attentive and professional, so do yourself a favor and visit this place with your family and friends if you are in the mood for great food and family driven ambiance.
Great place, great people, and great food! Me and family got attended by Hernando and Valentina when we went to paraiso colombiano for the first time and trust me; it was a great experience! They were all nice people, making sure you had a great time and make sure you got the right attention. If you want to try food from here I highly recommend you the bandeja tipica its such a delicious plate full of variety and makes you fully satisfied! And let me tell you something; after you had a nice time and some great food, you definitely need a dessert and the tres leches cake they have is the best! You definitely wont be disappointed!Thank you so much paraiso colombiano restaurant for your service! Keep up the great work!I would definitely be coming more !
Stopped in on my way home and I was not disappointed! I ordered the paraiso colomiano plate ( for 2) it came with steak and sausage rice beans and plantains. Easily 3 of us ate from it and it was really good, authentic colombian food. Great price and value and I will recommend to my friends in the area.
This restaurant in my opinion has to improve several things. First thing, it takes to long when serving the food inside the restaurant. Second, They should be more flexible with the special of the day for example a person want a big portion of soup charge more but dont tell the customer that they can only eat a small portion of soup. Finally, the price of the menu is higher compare to their competition.
Very nice atmosphere. Friendly and prompt service. The food is bangin. Go for breakfast and get some calentados. Theyre priced well and you get a lot of food for the money. Good place to take your girlfriend for breakfast and spend less than $25 on a very filling breakfast including the coffee if you get the Calentado Tradicion (one of my favorites). The waiters are super polite. Its very clean and a very easy recommendation overall. Oh, the arepas are so good too 😍 😋
I brought 7 of my family members to dine in paraiso. The food and service was good. I, however, have an issue with the restaurant charging me a fee for using my credit card to pay. This was especially upsetting because it was not stated on the menu there would be a fee, nor did the waiter inform me there was a fee. Upon speaking with the manager she stated that all merchants in NYC are charging their customers a fee for using they credit card. This is not true since I just went to Manhattan and used my credit card to pay for another meal without any such fee. I also asked my credit card company about this and they said they have not heard of this policy. Im very disappointed in this deceptive practice by paraiso. 😒
I was here today, July 1st, and the new management is TERRIBLE, the waiters came after 25 minutes and served us our regular lunch, and when we tried to pay she took 7 minutes!!! We orderedthe soup of the day and she treated us like garbage. She said I will serve them their lunch because they were first. I asked her for the check and she just started talking on the phone 4 minutes later pretending we were not there.
Great little spot. Stopped here for lunch and was not disappointed. The bendeja típica was delicious and came with plenty of good. The mango juice in agua was great as well. Christian provided friendly, quick service . I would recommend this place to anyone and will definitely go back
On our visit to Queens last weekend my family and I found this gem, Paraiso Colombiano. The food was delicious! Our server, Ivan, taught us the Colombian way to eat an Empendada. My brother and I both ordered the fried snapper and love it! The tosdaos were crisped to perfection. It was a great experience and we cant wait to stop by on our next visit.
I visited Paraiso Colombiano yesterday with my wife and we enjoyed our stay. The food was very good and service was excellent. I love it when I walk into a restaurant and spy a smiling Colombian lady in the kitchen, preparing food as if it were for her own family. We shared a refajo, which is Colombiana soda mixed with beer. It was not on the menu to my knowledge but the waiter mixed it for us.I ordered cazuela and my wife a bandeja paisa. We also ordered some empanadas, as well as an additional bandeja paisa and empanadas to bring home to share. The pique was very good, the shells of the empanadas were perfect and the filling was tastefully seasoned. My cazuela continued to boil for about 2 minutes after it was served. Not an issue at all for me, but others may not want it THAT hot. I enjoyed it although a couple of the pieces of seafood were a little bit overcooked. Most of it was perfect though, and the flavor was awesome. My wifes bandeja was perfect, and she put away the majority of it quite quickly. The waiter was very polite and attended us quickly. Specials were recited straight away and all was as it should be. Overall we had a great lunch and the price was very good considering the size of the portions. The restaurant is very clean and tidy, both inside and out, and it had that small family business feel that I like.My compliments to them all.
I was very disappointed with the food. Plus the bill was extremely-ridiculously high to the sky. I still don’t know what that hell in the world added up to $71.34. Here’s the catch up; they show you something that’s not on the menu. So the waitress comes with an IPad loaded with pictures of different dishes, but not showing the prices. So your chick ask for one of those... Kaboom that’s the catch up. Dude the place is in the hood, is hot as hell in there. A/C needs Maintance or probably they invest in a new unit, since they’re making a fortune with their blind dishes. Don’t go there.
I had a very good time the food is so good I came from Long Island witch was about 2 hours away from where I live and it was worth is I will come back the service was great by Cristian and I loved it so much I will come back for a lot more this is my recommendation to you

2021-12-17Celebrated my moms bday there. The place is very small but cozy. The attention was great and the food was amazing. Great find! The fish, sirloin ateak and the regular steak were delicious. Things thay could have gone better: sitting arrangement inside and the fact they didnt offer dessert to bday girl

2022-05-16We were extremely disappointed at this restaurant. We used to eat there often but stopped going after the pandemic. We went back to find out everything had changed. It seems the owners are new, they changed the menu to include less accompaniments and the dishes we ordered tasted nothing like they used to. When we paid, tip was already included which the waitress didnt inform us and when she handed us the credit card receipt (she kept the original receipt) it listed tip again which we almost paid AGAIN had we not asked the waitress if she could give us original receipt to check something. They also included a charge for using credit card and a charge for the take out container. OUTRAGEOUS! I feel that they were dishonest and greedy. We understand its hard times but hiding these fees from customers is not the answer. Sadly, this restaurant is not a choice for us anymore.

2021-07-17Absolutely spectacular Colombian cuisine served in a festive environment. Tasty margaritas complemented authentic dishes presented beautifully by the chef. Salads are fresh, sauces are homemade (must try the chimichurri), and service with a smile by Sarah and Hernando!! Come and enjoy in the heart of Corona :)

2022-05-28Came here on a whim before a Mets game, and what a gem! Inexpensive, reasonably sized portions (just enough!) and excellent service. We recommend the mini arepas and empanadas. Bite sized and delicious.

2021-04-11Service is 5/5, excellent and friendly. Food is 3/5.... It looks better in pictures than it tastes. Overall, its a decent restaurant - food can be better.

2019-05-23After spending the morning at the museum we walked over to Paraíso for a late lunch and were so happy with the service by Cristian. The food was delicious. The grilled chicken flavorful and the steaks cooked to order. The guacamole was super fresh! I would definitely recommend this spot if you’re in the neighborhood!

2022-05-22Dont bother. The food is mediocre at best... The staff refused to turn on the AC even though the temp was over 90°. They will charge you 4% if you want to pay by Credit Card and default 18% tip including the tax amount! Buyer beware! Stay Away!

2022-07-10Went here after the zoo food was horrible no seasoning not even the rice service was ok I order steak churrasco and what I got wasn’t it it was so rubbery not good I paid over 20$ for that will not return it has great reviews that’s why I went there but nope my experience was not good the food needs to have some season at least salt I don’t like to complain to the waitress because I know it’s not her fault it’s the cook
