Visiting from out of town and was glad to stop here for lunch. The food was very tasty, and the kids cheeseburger (not pictured) was huge! Service was great, and the view out the back was wonderful. The menu was expansive, and I regret that I couldn’t try more. If I ever find myself in the neighborhood again, I’ll definitely stop back!
Please follow us on Facebook at SNDTravels.I wish I could give this place a better rating, but here it is.Great location on the river and friendly staff. Diane ordered the baked scallops with rice, mixed veggies, salad and fries (strange for scallops). Based on the other reviews she felt comfortable with the order. The scallops were overcooked and chewy, to much lemon and no butter flavor, the rice was ok but one look at the veggies and she said no. The salad was just on the verge of being wilted but was edible. All seemingly done by a small time short order cook. The fries were fresh, hot and good. I had the club sandwich (which doesnt come with cheese, a first) and fries. The sandwich was good with crispy bacon and real mayonnaise. The toast could have been toasted a little longer but overall I enjoyed it. I dont think the iced tea was fresh brewed as is tasted like Gold Peak out of a soda dispenser. I think if you stay with the simple items (burgers, breakfast ect..) you probably would be alright but I would worry about the higher priced menu items that require a skilled touch.
I enjoy coming to the Park Diner mostly for Diner food at breakfast and lunch times. I recently came for dinner and was pleasantly surprised with a meal of penne pasta a la vodka with chicken and shrimp - definitely tasty and above typical Diner fare. It came with soup or salad and though I normally choose salad, went with New England clam chowder. It was bursting with lots of tasty clams. Very happy with the meal and the view over the river just adds to the experience.
I left my credit card there as it was not returned to me after payment. But I got it back from the cashier a few days later. Sure enough a few weeks later I get a fraud alert from my credit card company alerting me about $116 in Lyft charges. I dont even use Lyft. So those pending charges will be declined and investigated. My fault for not canceling my card immediately, right? But I wanted to trust people for once in my life. At the same time, I got overcharged when I patronized Park diner. My total was supposed to be $91.80 (I gave a 20% tip) but I got charged over $97 instead. The folks working at Park are dishonest. Stay away!
Had the Turkey club and it was terrible! there was nothing to it! hardly any turkey or anything else for that matter. Mozzarella stick too. Portion was lame. I saw a picture on here of a turkey club and it looked good but mine looked nothing like it. 13 bucks for the sandwich and 8 for the mozz sticks? Nooo!!! Coffee and a drink with it was over 25 bucks just for me. My friend had a cup of soup and a sandwich and the total for 2 was nearly 50 bucks!! You guys should be ashamed of yourselves for serving that kind of food at that price! But, I said nothing and ate it and paid for it. I will never go back to that place.
Prompt courteous service, wide variety of menu items and a beautiful view of the mighty Susquehanna River! The prices are reasonable for the amount of food youre served! Our girls loved the chicken fingers and fries topped off with black and white milkshakes! (Vanilla with Hersey syrup!)
Good breakfast food but nothing special. Service can be very slow too. The view of the river as youre eating is very nice, probably one of the better views you can get while dining in the area. Place can become swamped on Saturday and Sunday mornings by college kids so coke early.
This is precooked bacon one can easily purchase from a box in the grocery store. It is NOT what one might expect from a diner. That makes me sad. The home fries and eggs are what make me give more than 1 single star. The service is great and our server was nice. The coffee was ok.... DEFINITELY disappointed by the bacon. Yuck.
One of the best views of the Binghamton Skyline. Beautiful view overlooking the river. This place is a part of the history of this town. Food is average for a diner. Speed of delivery was excellent, service was amazing. I highly recommend for both visitors and residents.
I love the park diner. My friends and I are happy with the service and the food. Wish they had their tomato, bacon, cheese soup everytime I go in, its gluten free and wonderful. My friends go for different meals but me Im the liver girl. Been 5 times in 4 weeks and only had to send it back once because it was too well done.
My friend Chris Papastrat has owned the Park Diner forever. He works like a dog and turns out some of the BEST FOOD within miles of Binghamton. Have loved ❤ this place FOREVER and every time I go to Binghamton I eat there PERIOD Kudos Chris, your place is the BEST. AWESOME
The prices are sometimes a bit much but the service is great. The improvements to address safety are wonderful! The tables have space and there are plants that perfectly divide the spaces. The changes would only be visible to regular customers because its still the cozy and lovely place to dine with famiky or a quick meet with friends.
It was good. I had a fish sandwich that was quite good. The onion rings were good although still second to one other establishment. I liked the iced tea that tasted fresh. Service was good but not intrusive. The view of the river was quite pleasant. I would definitely return.
One of the best views I have ever experienced in a diner, this was a huge positive for the experience. It overlooks a large river, with an expansive view of the area. The food was also extremely good, although I felt like the selection was slightly limited. Definitely plenty to choose from overall though. There is also mold in the vents from what I can see, which definitely looks unpleasant. Besides that, this place is extremely good.
20 minute wait for table. 50 minute wait for food when we had a 1 1/2yr old with us which I informed the hostess when we went in. So we would have appreciated if we would have been told that it would have also been a long wait for food after we sat down. So we would have had a choice to stay or go. But once we sat down we had placed our orders not knowing it would be 50 minutes before food came to our table.
Park Diner is almost a landmark in Binghamton...it is located on Conklin Ave right above the Rock Bottom dam...they have typical diner fair...but the food is plentiful...served hot and is delicious...you can get breakfast anytime and they have daily specials. They are efficient and the servers are very attentive to your needs. They have Covid measures in place...you go in the main entrance and when you leave you leave through the side entrance. There are plexiglass shields in place at the cashier and their menus are laminated so that they can be wiped off between customers and everyone wears masks...prices are very reasonable and as I said the food is excellent...so if youre looking for someplace different try the Park Diner and ask for a window seat...watch the ducks on the river while you enjoy a delicious meal...maybe Ill see you there!
Had the meatloaf and fries and it was pretty good. My date had turkey club and fries as she does every time we go there so she must like them. Stopped again started with the taco soup good flavor but alot of beans. I had the hot roast beef sandwich and that was good. The wife had Philly cheese steak and that was good. Staff was friendly. Place was clean.
This is my first time ever being here and let me just say the first impression was the worst… me and my family got here at 9:40 had to wait over an hour to be seated and after 30 mins they finally took our drink order and we had to wait another 30 mins to get our drinks and when they brought our drinks over they had all but 1 drink so my grandmother had to wait to get her drink… we finally got service again after a while of being ignored, we asked to get a spot by the water and we did not we instead got a view of the parking lot.. then a little later another family got a seat right next to us and they got the view by the water and they had a bit quicker service then we did by the time we got our food everything was cold… I am HIGHLY DISAPPOINTED and I don’t think I will ever come here again
Wifes club sandwich was excellent. I had the roast pork dinner. Soup was very good. The gravy on the meat and mashed potatoes was extremely salty, and I like salt. The side of broccoli was overcooked to mush and all the flavor was cooked out. Our waitress was excellent and took care of us very well.
Good overall good for a diner. Eaten here several times as my father likes the place. I usually stick witha breakfast type meal even though the offer a wider selection like a restaurant. Service has always been good. For the wider menus items, Ive never heard any complaints from my dining companions. One other note, even when they are busy and crowded it doesnt feel like that.
My daughter and I watched the river while having a comfort food breakfast recently. Blueberry pancakes, fresh eggs, hot coffee - so good! Staff was friendly and efficient. Food came quickly, nice and hot. Pancakes were freshly made, just the right amount of blueberries. Our coffee cups stayed filled. Price was very reasonable. All this and WITH a view of our river no less (Which Ive always loved and have been fascinated with since I was a little girl). Where else can you get a close up view this beautiful, wild, always changing jewel? Maybe someday other businesses will highlight our river the way Park Diner has.
The food here is always good. A mix of Greek and American cuisine. Steak and eggs is scrumptious every time!Prices are very reasonable. Dinner for 3 was less than $40.Great overlook of the Chenango River, in a spot where it runs east to west.Open til 9:30 most evenings.
The wait staff are absolutely beautiful and perceptive. My Daughter and my bestie and I enjoyed our food and the river view. My bestie lives close and eats there frequently, she raved about the goodness. She tells NO lies!!! Very fast service, and clean. Love love love Thank you. P.S The cooks made eye contact as we left. Its a nice farewell.
The Park Diner has really gone down hill. The area where I sat was dirty, light fixtures were dusty and missing bulbs. The windows were dirty and had smear marks on them. The Belgium waffle I had was flat, rubbery and undercooked.Even the chocolate milk had a peculiar smell to it.My friend complained that their haddock sandwich was dry and had bones in it, making it too dangerous to eat.
Corey is an excellent waitress. Food is great tasting. Only problem is the owner who is also a member of the city council. Parks his car in front of the entrance close to the old Crowleys which makes the walk from the handicapped parking spot a pain. You would think someone in his position would know better.
My husband and I ate breakfast here the other day, which was our first time there for anything other than dinner. Im sold. My breakfast sandwich with homefroes was 5.99 and we walked out of there with a bill for just under $16.00. Also had a window seat. Good value for the money, for sure.
In the cosmos there is a Great Hall. In that Great Hall there is a room, and in that room there is a place where, on display, are the best examples of everything ever made by humanity. There is a section of that room devoted to food, and the Park Diner turkey club sits in that room. Their onion rings are probably there, too.
Rita, its a diner. We love the food. Its not gourmet but what someones mom would have made. Who ever said the portions were medium must have a Super Size food attitude. The portions are generous. Most people take home a doggie bag. If youre expecting 2 meals for the price of 1 its not going to happen cheapskate. I love this place!!!
The food is good, you can get a great view of the Susquehanna, I would say its one of Binghamtons classiest diners, but all in all, I feel like its over priced and their food isnt anything that special... I guess it depends on what youre looking for or what the occasion is.
I gave up going to this place. In Feb 2017 I went here & got fried chicken that was greasy as heck and came with half cooked vegetable sides. And in July 2017, came here for breakfast. The pancakes were good but the bacon was pre-cooked like the kind you microwave at home. Now I just drive past & go to Take a Break in Vestal.

2022-05-28I was in Binghamton for a short visit. I have to admit, the place didnt look impressive & I really wasnt sure what to expect. But, I was pleasantly surprised by the waitress Gwen who kinda resembled Katie Holmes lol. She was pleasant & attentive. Our food was out quickly & was really good! The prices were very affordable as well.I would recommend for sure.

2022-04-29My wife and I read the reviews and decided to try it for dinner. They sat us at a window overlooking the river. Beautiful. After reviewing the extensive menu my wife chose the scallops and I had the liver & onions. The food was delicious and the portions were too large to finish in one sitting. The staff was very friendly and attentive. We had a wonderful time and will be going back. Highly recommended.

2022-05-13One of the best breakfast joints in the area. Sitting by the window and watching the river is as cathartic as breakfast can get. The food is always made well and the service is great. Love coming here with my daughter.

2022-03-05Located at 119 Conklin Ave and overlooking the Susquehanna river, Park Diner is a wonderful eatery which provides a satisfying selection of food for breakfast, lunch, dinner at a fair price. The restaurant has a narrow entryway, but the dining staff, who are generally pleasant, accommodate for any person.photo 1 by Constancio Soto and 2 by foursquare.com

2022-06-02Really excellent local diner with a phenomenal view. Their Greek salad is particularly excellent, and their pasta is quite good as well. Service could be a bit quicker at peak hours but thats not a big enough problem to detract from the overall experience.
