Used to come here several times a week when I worked by Bryant Park. No frills Italian joint run by an Italian old-timer. Make sure to bring cash & try the chicken parm!
A nondescript small Italian eatery that looks a little rough around the edges. They have variety of very good food offerings including breakfast, lunch, salads and pasta. Everything is reasonably priced and there are a few tables to sit. It is also cash only but worth a visit.
Best eggplant parmigiana in NYC. Old school restaurant stuck in the 70s. Cash only. If you are a Juventus fan the owner will treat you like family. Must do for New Yorkers!!!
The best Italian food I have ever eaten! Portions are huge, too! My daughter and I shared the lasagna and it was amazing. My husband has the ziti and chicken parm and he said it was the best chicken parm he has ever eaten!
Old school Italian deli in midtown serving hot and cold dishes. I find the Hero’s are great the pasta dishes just ok. ( I wouldn’t exactly call it gourmet either) Anyway ... Get there early because it gets busy . CASH ONLY or no lunch for you !
This is my go-to for hearty eggplant parm and other red sauce delights. Take out or eat in (just go past the crowds toward the back of the joint). An old-school NYC survivor in the glass warrens of Midtown. Cash only!

Its not easy to find authentic mom n pop style Italian place in NYC fusion meals.But this place servers soul food.They have got lots of sandwiche selection and pastas.Only accepts cash but you would not spend more than $10.Best parm sandwich , lasagna and MOZZARELLA is FRESH.get MOZZARELLA on your sandwich .

The BEST burger and fries ever! I walk 4 blocks just for their burgers. They dont look extraordinary but they taste delicious!! So bummed when they are short on crew and the burger grill is closed.

The Best in NYC. The prosciutto Is out of this world. The best you’ll ever eat. Get that with fresh mozzarella little Balsamic and it’s heaven on earth.

Google says they are closed at 4pm. Their site says 330pm. They turned me away at 245pm saying closed, after walking 10 blocks to try their food.
The bread was soft and delicious, but the chicken parm was bland.

2021-12-16I went there today for breakfast sandwich and espresso, met Joe The owner for the 1st time, it was lot of fun to talk to him. He has been running this place for 40 years it was great. I highly recommend this place.

2017-10-10Can only speak to their sandwiches because thats all Ive had here. The Midtown lunch scene is nothing but sad chain restaurants so why not patronize a business that has really good food, is relatively inexpensive for the area and is an old school family owned business. Ive enjoyed every visit Ive had so far and its clear the owners and the workers value repeat customers and quality ingredients.

2017-09-13This place is great. Down-and-dirty delicious Italian food. I have tried a few things, but I always go back to the chicken parm because it warms my heart at lunch during a rough day at work. It is cash only and they have tons of food options and a few tables and chairs in the back, but its better to walk across the street to the park to eat.

2018-03-15One of my favorite casual lunch spots in midtown manhattan. Good deli with usually quick service and tasty food. Theres a bunch of tables in the back if you like to eat in. Certain food can run out later in the afternoon, and they may choose not to make more.

2018-06-13Cute little Italian hole in the wall with simple but tasty pasta offerings and a good selection of salumis to assemble a sandwich. The place is cash only. The interior looks like it hasnt been changed since the 70s.
