Parkchester South in Bronx
The only good thing is how convenient it is to walk to the stores nearby. The customer service however is horrible. Spent 30 minutes to nearly an hour waiting on the phone for legal assistance, and I was met with someone who had an attitude, and kept cutting me off. I called back later, and the best Legal advice I was given, was to do something thats illegal in N.Y. state. One of the worst service providers Ive ever experienced.
Parkchester south construction site if you want a review that you can really belive here it is, construction starts around 830 am by 4pm 5 they stop, its never ending. The elevators are always messed up, walked up to the 11th floor a number of times, got stuck in the elevator for over 30mins once, being stuck in between 4th and 5thFloors a building porter open the door I was so scared thinking I would get smashed he told dnt worry it happens all the time. I left some pictures of the true parkchester that the realtors never show or tell you.
After living there for 4 years ,The truth is the worst place in earth with lots of cockroach, bed bugs and mice, even if u make home clean ,coz it will come from ur neighbours ...horrible is their service too and the building is so old and not soundproof at any cost ,even if anybody just talk u can hear it from another apartment down or beside...The heat in winter also follow at the wish of management to come and go not the wish of the temperature....sometime its overheated ...if somebody with class living over there ,they will find my words true ....
First of all I must say the location is very good. But, there are frequent recurring problems like, water leaks, elevator not functioning, blocked water supplies and some time would have to bad water(only you could observe when you collect in a bucket or a container). To add to that, the service from the management or service department is the worst among what I had experienced so far. It would really difficult for elderly people or people who are living alone.
If i could give stars i would, starting with the management office, they are very disrespectful and rude and do not care about anyone but them selfs and the friendship that they try to maintain among them self specifically a manger name renee and her best buddie carlos and her racist like ways she fired a worker for speaking spanish to a co worker not because its his only language but because he was in his comfort zone she is to concern with making friends and not understand she is making enemies in the process you gotta give and earn respect from your works treat people how you expected to be treated she is not a good face for this company .
Its clean always have heat & hot waterThey keep the garbage pulled every other day.the have one rule they should keep in thats dont all the tenants to have dogs in there weather they are big or small. Because once the 🐕 strat to piss on the grounds in dodo its going to small the place up.
Pros: Proximity of several businessesNearby transportationRelatively safe family neighborhoodTrash pickup and overall cleanliness is greatBig Con: Horrible communication with Parkchester offices (both North and South condominiums). Im unsure why getting in contact with someone at Parkchester is so difficult during normal business hours. This needs to improve. When someone makes an investment in your condominiums, they are expecting a line of communication that can be consistently reliable. We shouldnt have to wait until gentrification hits Parkchester to experience better assistance. Please do better and take care of this communication problem asap.
Parkchester (Condos/apartments) is a fine location to live with conveniences such as the subway 6 train (Express train certain hours) only a few blocks away. There is a Zaros, StarBucks, Macys and other stores to purchase including supermarkets to shop for food. The city or Parkchester it self need to have the street repaved as soon as possible as it is an eyesore and can be dangerous to walk. Other than that the apartments are great and the service is perfectly fine.
I lived in the Parkchester South Condominiums from July 31st 2004 til September 6th 2011. Its a clean, quite, diverse and middle class community with shopping on Metropolitan Ave. Too bad they replaced the Bow Tie Cinema with a Marshalls. They have plenty of dining options from Chinese food to Pizza and even some Cuchifritos nearby in the Castle Hill neighborhood off of Westchester and Castle Hill Avenue. This community has a maintenance crew and security so the complex is pretty much well kept and for the most part, the community is safe, especially during the day. I would definitely recommend this community to anyone wanting to live in a clean, quite, and diverse area thats close to transportation with several buses and subway options and if you want a park like setting. This is the neighborhood for you.

2022-01-24Do not have buyers or renters remorse otherwise youd be looking for another place in 1-2 years. I am a resident for over 10 years. The buildings are very old with 1940s fixtures, poor floor, ceiling and wall insulation. Youll hear your neighbors industrial strength toilet flush, shower or water running clearly through the wall. The pipes are too old for store bought drain unclogging products so youll have to wait for a plumber the next business day since they dont do repairs or maintenance over the weekends or holidays. Residents are suppose to carpet their floors to an extent with padding, but that isnt happening. You can hear everything hit the floor from the unit above your unit. Also, parking is a nightmare that feels like musical chairs when searching for a parking spot that can last 1-2 hours or more. Management doesnt really enforce any of the rules theyve outlined in a multi-page lease. They dont seem too concerned about much except the rent. I am being harassed by illegal next door neighbors for almost 1 1/2 years with them doing nefarious things to my floors and walls from their side of the shared wall to disrupt my peace around the clock. My complaints to management gets redirected to security since they wont address it, security takes reports that go nowhere and community affairs dont return calls or provide follow up. Throughout it all it seems the foreign harassers illegal sub lease situation gets renewed. This is no way to live. Basically you will feel like youre fending for yourself after a while because theres no real help in sight. I have been a Bronx resident for over 20 years and had never experienced anything like this prior to moving to these condos.

2022-03-11$900 maintenance fee & they want to charge for every little maintenance issue. Water damage issues theyd rather paint over than actually fix. Garbage everywhere. Noisy. No parking. I can go on & on. Lived here for decades & Im finally moving out. My advice is dont move here. Anybody leaving a 5 star review works for Parkchester. Ask any resident theyll tell you the truth.

2021-09-13This is my building and my experience living here people pay a lot of money to live here and they don’t deserve this they make it look real pretty on the outside but when you and the inside is a whole different story this place is going down day by day garbage piled up for weeks totally unacceptable for people paying all this money do we live in the condominiums or do we live in Public housing because it’s very close Will be calling the department of health 🤬

2021-09-03The customer service is the WORST! You wait on the phone for 45 minutes upward. Sometimes you get through and then the call is terminated and you have to start all over and do the waiting all over again. The representatives get rude and very defensive when you complaint about the waiting time. And this is NOT new. Ive been living here for 14 years and it has not changed, maybe gotten worst but not better. And if you own a car...be prepared! The WORST! The residential parking is given to their employees. You cannot leave your car in the wrong spot because it will be towed away in no time. Truly the WORST!!

2019-06-20Lovely place to live:-15 min from manhattan-clean and green (trees and flowers)-renovated vigorously recently-safe and busy with stores all over-affordable rent and amenities-lots of schools and families-in 5 years rent will probably soar

2021-08-20I wish if there was negative review option that i could do. The service representative was so rude on the phone. I had an emergency issue that the toilet flush water keep coming out, and they said they have no available date for next 3 days. Like what the heck? There was mountain of water keep coming out and they were being careless. Then someone came and said it fixed but after he left I had same issue back again. The worst place to live in NYC is those apartments in the Bronx south condo

2021-03-06This is the worst place to live or own. The community does not allow bicycles, does not allow any type of sound coming out of the apartment. They have their own police & they will come to your house at 9pm on a Friday or Saturday night to tell you not to talk loud or turn down your television. Im so I did not buy & decide to rent to see how things go. After living there for a month I was ready to go.
