We took a trail ride with Buddy today. There were two of us. I am an experienced rider and my friend was not. First ,the park is adjacent to a state park which gives the riding center access to amazing trials. Wide open , scenic and great ground for the horses. Buddy was entertaining, ez going and gave us a great ride. Perfect placement of rider and horses too. Olaf was great and Tarzan was perfect too. I dont usually take the time to write a review. But I highly recommend trying them out.Rick
I went for a trail ride not too long ago with Buddy. He is a real life cowboy!! My nine year old son, completely inexperienced, had so much fun on Ella and Frank was such a good boy for me. He bucked a few times but I didn’t mind, it happens when they get excited so I’m happy that he was comfortable enough to do it with me on his back! Trails are gorgeous, some of the people seem uptight but I’m sure they are just protective over their animals and I don’t blame them. But I highly recommend Parkview Riding Center to anyone, just be patient with the animals and listen to the guides!
Parkview Riding Center has some of the most beautiful trails on Long Island. I went trail riding here twice and I got to experience different parts of the park both times. Diana is a terrific trail guide and also a good friend of mine too. The horses are all wonderful and each have their own good personalities which makes them adorable. The staff members are friendly and they are always willing to answer any questions. Overall I recommend Parkview and cant wait to go back there again.
Me and my father went to this place for a trail ride. The people here are so sweet, our trail guid knew exactly what she was doing she was amazingly sweet. She didnt force us to do anything we weren’t comfortable with. The horses were well fed and got water and hay after each ride. I am now going back for lessons and I completely recommend coming here
Our time at Parkview Equestrian Center seemed good to begin with but took a turn for the worst.. On the upside the trail is gorgeous and the guides are nice. The horses were very calm and well mannered although their care was less than desirable. All of the horses we had were tripping over themselves due to overgrown hooves. My cousin fell off twice due to this and had to go to urgent care. The saddles are a little tight and uncomfortable. During the trail you do a lot of trotting and loping, I felt very unsafe during the ride as my horse was having trouble finding his footing. The horse my cousin was on was a big draft horse. Draft horses need draft saddles that are made for their wide backs. The saddle they had on him definitely did not fit the horse and was a hazard despite the tripping. Overall the scenery was great but we will definitely not be returning to Parkview Equestrian Center or recommending it to anyone due to the possibility of someone injuring themselves and for the safety of the horses.
Very beautiful trail, thats the only good thing.Bad side: Even though we informed the team that we did not do horse riding before no one gave us any kind of information or instructions on how to hold or ride the horse. Very anxious horses, mine was kicked by the female horse in front of him and I had to pull the lead rope tight every time he gets closer. Because of the lack of instructions, I got bruises on my left hand as it hits the saddle. In addition, I wasnt able to hear the (in-spot) instruction when we did the short runs, I looked at the people in front of me and tried to figure it out my self. When we were finally back, my horse started getting closer to the female again! very scary experience overall.
Was there to look around and meet a friend who boards. Pulled up towards the back and as soon as I got out of the car I was yelled at for parking there. No signs saying no parking posted, a simple please dont park here would have been nice. Was thinking about taking a trail ride with them but not now. No need to be rude.
Im a local.. and the owner Michelle seems to have a very stank attitude. I pay to ride there and I am considering to take my business elsewhere, I do not feel comfortable with the way she makes me feel when I ask questions about the horses and times to ride. Seems to me she doesnt know how to run a business by making people feel not wanted.
I have to respond to Grace and her absurd review. I dont know who she is or what her personal agenda is but I have been riding horses since I was 11 years old...I am 58 now. I have gone trail riding in CA, AZ, NM, PA, here on Long Island and elsewhere. In all my YEARS I cant ever recall ONE incident in which someone fell off because of stable-hand error or horse temperament. Off the top of my head I remember one rider who was abusing the horse on a trail. Another was a young kid who freaked out on the horse for some reason. As for Parkview..... are you nuts? These are LOVED and cared for horses. There are some parents who dont take care of their children as well as these people treat their horses. AND they are VERY VERY careful about trail horse temperament. Safety for the rider and the animal come first. As for Graces assertion about the hoofs and horses tripping, I dont know what color the sky is in her universe but that is insane. Will a trail horse ever buck? YES. Will a trail horse ever get spooked? YES. But my nine year old twin girls have gone trail riding with me dozens of times and my 42 60lb girls NEVER felt in danger, let alone thrown from an 1,100lb animal. I am a helicopter parents who would love to keep my girls in a bubble and protect them from the world and I TRUST PARKVIEW with the two most precious things I have!!!!!!!!
I took my 10 year old daughter here today on a whim and Jeff took us on an hour long trail ride through beautiful Connetquot Park. The ride was awesome and Jeff was an absolute doll. So entertaining and helpful. We are so glad we did this and would ask for Jeff anytime we return.
In response to Christina Nichilo:I’m sorry you feel this way and had this experience. I’m sure what happen was the times you were available for lessons our instructors were already booked with their steady clients that come every week same day same time this occasionally happens. As you can see by other reviews we rarely have unhappy clients. Please feel feee to reach out so we can try to accommodate you in a special way. I’m sorry I did not respond sooner this review was just brought to my attention.- Michele
I dont go horseback riding much but i can tell you that there are better places. for me there was too much trotting which caused the horses to get grumpy and do stupid things. at one point my horse, frank, bucked his rear end up and i would have fallen off if i didnt hold on for dear life.

2022-05-04I booked a trail Ride with Michelle over the phone. When I got to the farm no one was in the office. I waited 35 minutes and when she arrived, Michelle had an attitude and was extremely rude and said who are you ?? I said I have an appointment , her response was I don’t even remember talking to you!! Long story short a month later she calls my phone saying are you on the way ?? I’m like who are you lol 😂?? Terrible service! I hope she treats the horses right and not way she treats the customers . A class of Ethics would be good for her. Her customer service skills are terrible.

2021-09-12Friend suggested that I take my 7 year old daughter for a ride at Park view. Glad I took the recommendation🙂. My daughter had a great time riding Duke and I had a blast too riding Pat. Our trail guide Buddy was awesome...told stories the whole time and gave excellent instructions to my daughter and me. Will definitely be back this fall!

2021-08-23I have been riding here for a few weeks so I dont have too much experience riding here but I love this place so far. I am a beginner who wanted to try horseback riding and the 2 trainers I have had so far are very nice. I got to ride many horses including Dudly, Rocky, Scarlett, etc. The horses are very well trained and you can tell the workers there really love the horses. After each session I got to groom horses and even one time I got to tack them up. They have tought me so much about caring for and riding the horse. Thanks to Parkview Riding Center, I have found a lifelong passion that I am willing to stick with.

2020-10-24We took our second ride in a week! Request for horses was honored. The ride in Connetquot park is great! My sons loves to trot and we did it a lot. Cant wait to go again and sign my son up for lessons. The whole place is really neat and clean, staff is super friendly, Diana was our fabulous guide!
