Parm in other cities:
After three years finally made it to Parm on UWS. Really attentive servers, perfect portions, fresh pasta, and while they were not crowded early on a Wednesday night, their delivery and take away orders were non-stop. Rigatoni Carbone was tasty and mildly spicy. Fusilli Bolognese hearty with ricotta on top. Buffalo cucumbers unexpectedly light and moderately spicy. Well be back!
Was told it would take 15 to 20 minutes for a to go sandwich. It took less than 3. Clearly the ingredients were reheated and assembled. I walked the five minutes to Central Park to eat it. Nice bread, with a good bite and crust. Eggplant was soggy. Cheese not memorable. Sauce red. The basil leaf verging on too much.
Parm is a reliably delicious meal for a reasonable price. Weve moved beyond our usual Chicken Parm to try other things on their menu and have been pleasantly surprised. Their Italian sub is very tasty. Their Bolognese is delicious and has become a regular. They are not as quick to turn around sandwiches as other take out spots but cant complain when they keep up the quality of their food.
Came back here after a while. I honestly forgot how amazing the mozzarella sticks were. Seriously don’t sleep on them. Made fresh and have a great crisp to them. It doesn’t end there, grab yourself the Chicken Parm Dinner Plate, you’ll be treating you’re self and your tastebuds to a unique experience, I won’t spoil it for you, you’ll just have to trust me.
Great service and the atmosphere is nice. I didn’t really care for the chicken parm platter. The cheese was good, but the chicken wasn’t very tasty and the skin was not enjoyable. The marinara pasta also kind of tasted like pasta sauce you get at the store. I wasn’t really impressed unfortunately.
The food was fine but the service was a terrible joke. Ordered one app and two mains. It all came out at the same time.... so my main got cold white we ate the zucchini fritters. Oh, and I had to just get up and go get silverware at the waiter station myself cause the space cadet on duty hadnt noticed we needed it.... and could barely be flagged down. It was busy but he couldnt have handled half the crowd effectively
The Mulberry location is so much better. To be fair, we came here an hour before closing so maybe that affected the quality. The service was not great. We went there specifically for the eggplant parm so we ordered as soon as the server came. We then waited about 20 minutes to be told that they were out of eggplant. Overall the food was bland. Returned the salad because it wasn’t fresh. I’d probably give them another chance earlier in the day. Maybe they were tired and ready to go home.
Stumbled across this cute family friendly spot while biking. It was the perfect casual stop for dinner. The staff were all very friendly and attentive and the food was delicious. The chicken parm was the best i’ve ever had and my husbands penne scampi was really good too. We shared a CaesarSalad, and it was prepared with authenticity. The dressing tasted fresh and the croutons, home made.
Got the chicken parm sandwich, aperol spritz and side of fries. Decent sandwich size. However, if you plan on ordering fries with your sandwich, make sure to order it at the SAME time so they can be included together for a cheaper price. As I was eating my sandwich I wanted to add fries and had to pay full price (for the same portion size) $5 vs $8
Good Italian place to eat if you are in the upper west side of Manhattan. The service is very good and the food tastes great. We went to have lunch and it was very quiet. We ordered one pasta each only with water and we ended up paying $23.5 each with tip included. Overall recommended.
Had to give a great review. Id give 5 stars but people would think it was spam. I broke my screen (dropped, purple>black samsung note) called, guy said 30 minutes, i took it there, they showed me the screen they would use first, said 2 hours, I said OK, any warranty, they said 30 days unless dropped or water
Placed a delivery order at 7pm. at 7:50 they informed me it was going to be delayed. when I called at 820pm they said they couldnt find my order so I should cancel. Long story short, no Parm for dinner. *IF YOU ORDER DINNER YOU MAY NOT GET DINNER* No apology from the resturnat either. photo is of my empty dinner table
OMG! This place is not only cute the staff are so amazing especially, Johnathan who tends the bar. My friend and I sat at the bar. I ordered a Vegan sandwich- spicy avocado with arugula and tomato. My friend got the chicken parm. We both had the Italian french fries which are to die for. So freaking good. The music sets the tone as if youre in the 50s. I felt like I was in a Happy Days episode or the movie Grease. Service is super quick too. In and out during lunch (40 min.)
Service was great ! The French fires were amazing some of the best I ever had but the chicken parm sandwich came very short . Very bland no real favors if your looking for a great chicken parm unfortunately parm isn’t it . But if you want the best fries in New York City then go for it .
This place was a recommendation from a friend, and frankly I was quite satisfied. The grade is between 3* and 4*, but I gave them a little bit higher review due to pandemic situation which affects all industries, especially Hospitality.Parm is a great diner option if you are nearby UWS.I had a homemade mozzarella cheese (a big chunk) generously served with a few slices of prosciutto ($16). Both cheeese and prosciutto should be served cold though (mine was room temperature). After that I enjoyed their famous chicken parmigiana as a hero sandwich ($16). It has a really good taste. The bun was so fresh and with a lot of sesame. The restrooms are a bit old, but neat and clean, which I think is important. The service is fair.Laid-back environment, dont expect too attentive service, but the food is generally tasty and good.I will come back for sure to try fried zucchini, garlic bread and their pastas.Coffee was unexpectedly good.
The service here was fantastic (they never once ignored us and went out of their way to be attentive and kind) and the food was great for the prices. The chicken parmesan is probably the best thing on the menu. However, the one thing I would suggest that they improve on would be the garlic bread. It is a little too expensive for the quality.
Very good food and considering we told them we were in a rush to see a show, they combinated us spectacularly. We had the chicken parm with pasta and broccoli and garlic side as well as a calamari appetizer. I wouldnt say too much about the calamari it seemed overcooked for my liking, but the pasta was fantastic as was the chicken parm. The broccoli in garlic was a little heavy on the butter or oil, but still quite tasty. The overall price of the meal was surprisingly low considering the neighborhood.
I ordered takeout from this location via Postmates. We got the rigatoni, mozzarella sticks and chicken parm roll. Everything was very dry and under seasoned, which was really disappointing because we’ve eaten here before and it was better. The food was also completely cold upon arrival and needed to be reheated. Needless to say, we barely ate the food and I would recommend not doing takeout from here, especially for the price point.
The prices are a bit on the higher side, however the food quality is definitely more than just satisfactory. Had the chicken parm hero sub and it turned out pretty well. The chicken itself was slightly soggy but barely noticeable. The mozzarella sticks were 12$ for five small sticks and they were decent but definitely should have been cheaper as it basically costed the same as my sub. The workers, however did argue very loudly with each other and it was a little disruptive. Overall not a place to be angry about the food you receive but nothing amazing either and the tense atmosphere wasn’t too pleasant either.
Their chicken parm is the gold standard. I must say, the best way to go is halvsies on the hero and sandwich, as it gives you the best of both worlds and the right amount of food (even if you lose some integrity on the cut). But alas, my better half had to work this time.
Got the chicken parm hero to go. took about 10 minutes and the people were very kind and friendly. a beautiful and intriguing place inside. the sandwich was amazing! only giving it 4 stars because $17 for a sandwich seems a little excessive, but this is new york after all....
I made a reservation for 6 people on 11/20/21 at 6pm and received 3 confirmations of my reservation through text message. When my party arrived at 6pm and after showing our vaccination cards and ids, we were told by the Manager that unfortunately they cannot accommodate my reservation and the best they can do is sit us at two separate tables. The Manager was completely dismissive and did not even attempt to uphold the reservation. I have never experienced this in my life where I show up to a restaurant with a reservation and they tell me they are not able to accommodate my reservation. Who does that? The Manager should be fired. It was absolutely disgusting. I will never go back to this place again. They lost multiple customers. Luckily the Santa Fe restaurant around the corner on 71st St went out of their way to accommodate us despite being crowded. I highly recommend Santa Fe for great food and service.
If I could I wouldn’t even give a one star. We went to go have an early dinner, there were 9 of us. We all had our vaccine cards and all of us had ID except our two 8 year olds. They would not allow us to eat their because the 8 year olds didn’t have an ID to match their vaccine cards. Some of us are from NC and some of us are from FL. We do not get ID for our elementary age children. We have been here for 3 days and have had atleast 3 meals a day and no one else has asked for ID for our children.
So I just did a pick up a fried calamari and Bolognese over fusilli,,, the fried calamari had a very weird taste to it, not that one I am accustomed to,, and fusilli with lamb Bolognese over it ,,,Mary had a little lamb but it certainly wasnt over my fusilli 😂barely any kind of sauce on it at all with a big hunk of ricotta cheese in the middle who does that to bolognese sauce,, what I found really aggravating considering Im staying at a local hotel was that they had no eating utensils in the bag,no napkins,,not even a slice of bread really for $40 plus I left a 20% tip really cant you guys do better
Everyone on staff was so nice, and I want this place to do well. I’m leaving this review as (hopefully) constructive feedback. The portions are huge but the food is under-seasoned and the ingredients aren’t good quality. My suggestion is to focus on quality over quantity. I know this is a no-frills spot, but it can be delicious and non-fussy at the same time.
One of the few places to dine inside during this pandemic. Lovely place and Service was great! The server was excellent and very nice (sorry I dont know her name 😔) she took care us. Their Chicken Parm on a roll is so good. Their Italian fries are good. But I had to pass due to my girlish figure😉 Looking forward to returning during the cold weather. Great place!
On my Birthday,July 13th. I went to the Upper West Side location. I wanted to come to this location since is closer to home. I LOVE the Woodbury Commons location and the food quality so much ! I never though that food would be this horrible and the worse service ever at this Upper Westside location. The best was the meatballs. My sister ordered the Cesar salad with chicken. The lettuce in the salad was old like it has been sitting in fridge for a while. The calamaris were hard to chew. The Italian sándwich was hard to eat since they do not toast the bread in this location. My penne Scampi was okay. The pasta was not freshly made like in the Woodbury Commons location and the shrimp were hard to chew. Overall. DO NOT GO TO THIS LOCATION! Service and food quality is not the same as Westbury Commons! I should has take pics of the worse salad ever but I want to be nice. We asked to be seated outside and the table was dirty from all the dust from the cars and stuff. The server was very monotone and not accommodating at all.And... they didn’t wish me an happy Birthday which was wack.
For what you have to pay, the portions are the only upside. Generally the food was under seasoned, with the chicken parm tasting the most bland. The pastas were just a hair under overcooked and to top it off, getting shared apps and a drink makes this an expensive date night meal
Service is TOO SLOW. I ordered pasta at 7 pm, it arrived to my table at 8:15. They tries to serve first for online orders and customers instead of customers in table. After bringing my pasta 1.15 hours later they just explained it as “it took time, we mixed some orders” Super rude service. No discount offer or apologize with dessert. TOO EXPENSIVE for this quality italian restaurant. Atmosphere is okay. There are better ones on the same street I am sure they are nicer and having similar atmosphere.
I liked this place a lot. First off the prices are a little high but for the location that is to be expected. I liked the fact that they had a small menu. Limited items means they can concentrate on quality. The staff here was superb. Especially our waiter. He was very attentive and always there with some more water when needed (it was an unusually hot day). They even went out of their way when we seemed disappointed about not getting a booth and gave us some mozzarella sticks on the house. I had a meatball hero and it was good. No complaints from anyone else in my group. This is a good candidate for a chain. Simple menu. Modest surroundings and quick service. I would like to see one in New Haven. They would do well there.
Amazing food! I had the best rigatoni with the freshest ricotta cheese Ive ever tasted. The garlic bread was amazing, the mozzarella sticks were amazing. Everyone loved what they ordered! The staff was very attentive especially with our group of 10. They were so nice and accommodating and we would definitely eat here again!
Parm brings the charm. Theyre a great go-to for your standard and specific go-bag sandwiches. Parm personalizes items on their menu as well upon request. The overall vibe the staff sets is kind, helpful and accommodating. They use quality ingredients to make the right kinds of tastes. Worth checking out this spot if youre in area and it fits your food fancy.
Parm was great! The service was very friendly, the food was good, the atmosphere was not that great, I will get into that later, it is pretty comfortable! The service was very friendly! They were very humorous, very quick, and they always come to you when you need them! The food was very good as well! The French fries are very clean, which makes them taste really good and fresh! I ordered the Ham Sandwich. The Ham sandwich has very nice bread, very nice cheese, and also very nice ham! The bread looked like a burger bun, and it tasted like bread, the same bread you would get anywhere else. The atmosphere was bad when I went to Parm. We got seated next to these people opening candy, opening presents, shouting, and they were a bit too excited. Hopefully these people do not come when you go to Parm.
I visited for the first time last night. They seemed to be a little unexpectedly busy so I wasnt sure what kind of service I would get. Even though he was going between the dining room and bar, I got my drink order within the first couple minutes. I ordered a chicken parm sandwich and it came out lightning fast. It was delicious and a really good amount of food for 11 bucks. The bartender was super nice and stayed on top of service. My drink never went empty and he had a pleasant demeanor. 5 stars for the food and value, 10 stars for the service. Very well done! Im definitely going back sooner than later.
I had the chicken tomato basil sandwich which was tasty. 3.00 for a 12oz can of coke. A bit overpriced. No excuse for that. Wait staff not very attentive. My daughter had the spaghetti with meatballs. She said it was good. Although, she took half of it home. I wont go back. Too many great places to choose from in NYC
The food quality has definitely gotten worse over time. It has become bland and doesnt have nearly as much substance as it once did. I even had to add my own sauce to my chicken parm sandwich the last time I ordered because it had almost none. I dont think Ill ever be able to justify getting food from here again especially given how much they charge for every item.
Best meatball app and eggplant parm dish Ive had in a long time. Food was flavorful. The menu was simple which is a refreshing change from so many places that offer way too many options. Our server was polite and friendly. Will definitely return when we are back in the city.
It’s Glorified Pizzeria food, The food is ook. I was expecting something different I guess that’s why I’m only giving 2 stars ...In my opinion when ordering chicken parm on a hero the bread shouldn’t be spongy (try toasting it a little) usually the sponge is from day old bread and shouldn’t be served on the weekend.Garlic broccoli was heavily red peppered , and didn’t indicate that anywhere on the menu. There were a few other things but I’m not going to get pickyBut like I said Glorified Pizzeria, and I bet I can find pizzerias doing it the right way near by
Pretty good slightly upscale red sauce Italian style deli food. The food is pretty good but can only be called good for the cost they charge for such basic food, though the pasta I had was sub par at best. Its a good place for kids, loud but not crazy crayons etc.. The service is fine when things are slow but they get overwhelmed easy. There is a large semi privet room in the back that looks nice from a distance. Its a nice place if you want a good chicken parm and beer with friends or with the kids.
We went to Parm tonight and it was literally the first time that I was dining outside since covid started, the food was only ok, nothing amazing, but our waiter was the worst waiter Ive ever had. He didnt care about us at all, when I asked him for a beer, he only brought us a bottle, without any glass. When we asked him for fresh parmesan, he brought us the powder parmesan that usually goes on pizza and was probably sitting out there for a long time. When I asked for the bill, he just brought it and put it in front of us, no eye contact etc. It was like we didnt exist. So I tipped him 15% and this the lowest that I tipped a waiter/waitress for a very long time. For sure we will not visit this place again, as they dont appreciate their customers.
Its okay. Pretty overpriced for what it is. I ordered the 18-layer eggplant. Wish I just went to a local pizzeria where I could have gotten something 3x more satisfying for 1/3 the price. Also the $25 ribs are flavorful enough for a toddler. If youve ever had ribs anywhere before, you should just avoid these. Three stars (rounding up maybe) for cleanliness and decent table service.*I love the Parm restaurant at Barclays Center. Its a buffet. Though its not cheap, the food is fresh and delicious as hell and very plentiful.*
The BEST meatball app and eggplant parm dish Ive had in a LONG time. Food was flavorful. The menu was simple which is a refreshing change from so many places that offer way too many options. Our server was polite and friendly. Will definitely return when we are back in the city.
I had high expectations.First problem: we had reservations for 5, and they only had a 4 top available because we had a lot of reservations that we didnt expect. So we crammed into a tiny table. No apologies.Service was fine once we were seated, perhaps a bit distanced. Food was good, but not raveworthy like many other reviews. Pastas were decent, my sandwich was mediocre. Fries were underseasoned. Food did come out quick, although 2 of the 5 dishes had clearly been sitting under the heat lamps for a long time.Bottom line: the place is fun, the menu is small, the hosts leave something to be desired and the food is good but not outstanding. Id rather eat elsewhere but it aint bad.
YES! The Best Meatball Parm Hero Ever.So I heard somewhere that they made the best Meatball Parm hero in town. Look on the website, no prices. Oh oh,So I call, okay it was a little pricier than most, but what the heck.I call: some young lady answers, I tell her I’m on lunch and would like take out. With a wonderful attitude she goes above and beyond to make me happy. Tell me be here in 15 mins.I get there, this very same young attractive lady (Mimi) tells me it’s not ready yet, but please sit and wait, as I did patiently. She comes out, with my hero and fries in hand and even offers me a free drink. This you lady was amazing, and the food was just that. Amazing! I even had the Italian fries that were just as good.It was well worth the price, actually you would expect food and service of this caliber to me more, but it wasn’t it was well worth what I paid.Thank you Parm, and Mimi for such a Wonderful lunch.
Food was really good. Went here with people visiting from Spain. Zucchini fries and Greek Farro were delicious. I heard good things about the chicken Parm and the eggplant sandwich from my friends. I got the patty melt and I loved it. A bit pricey but good. The portions were reasonable. Order the melt and fries if you are super hungry.
I have been here several times. The service is always friendly and attentive. I’ve lucked out not calling ahead for a reservation and being sat right away (or sitting at the bar) but it does get crowded, so parties more than 4 it’s a good idea. As one would expect, the chicken parm is phenomenal. Highly recommend. I’ve had the entree and the sandwich. Additionally, I’ve tried their eggplant and chicken caprese too.
I got the $11 chicken parm which tasted extremely good. On the down side it was not a lot of food and I was hungry not too long after my visit. My girlfriend was also very happy with the taste of her meal. The inside of the restaurant feels cheap which does not match with the prices of the food. But they are definitely going for a certain vibe there which I understand. The fact that a few flies kept buzzing around our heads was also not too pleasant. Overall it was an okay experience.
One of the worst experiences. Showed up at 630PM on a Sunday evening. There was clearly not enough staff so we waited an hour for our food. Waiter brought over comlimentary garlic bread in the meantime which was burned to a char. (I mean, how does one mess up garlic bread?) The pasta used to be served piping hot but tonight it was cold and congealed. The manager came over to apologize and he handled it very well. Waiter was very nice too. Im hoping this was an off night.
Went in with a group. I had to take my daughter in to the restroom after we were seated and when I came back out they had already taken orders. It took a while to get my waitress back to take my order. And when I finally get my order in they never brought out by drink and one of the sides I ordered. The food was great. If I didnt have such a tough time getting it Id probably have given 5 stars.
Ok! Yes I have a type and yes this place checked off all the boxes! Kind of low key and quaint. I mean that in the best sense possible. Had a nice day time date here and we both loved it. Look forward to our next trip to try more on the menu. The garlic bread is crack!
Parm giveth, and Parm taketh away. Consistency is lacking - just last night got two heroes which were zeroes - how on earth does a red sauce restaurant make dry meatball / chicken parm sandwiches? There was nearly NO red sauce! Advise checking take-out orders if possible.
The most outstanding eatery Ive experienced in New York, bar none. The service is prompt and friendly, the main seating has a lively atmosphere (quieter back area for dates also exists), the menu is focused but the food is amazing. The garlic bread you eat while waiting youre meal alone is *transcendent*- if my meal hadnt come at all, I wouldnt even have been upset. But it did! And it was piping hot and perfect; so perfect I couldnt stop eating it, hot or not. My dining party are all the sort who eat off each others plates and nothing failed to please. I cant recommend this place enough.
Ordered a Caesar salad to go with grilled chicken. Waited a while for them to prepare it. Charged me 21 dollars & change, gave the bartender 22 dollars, did not even offer me my change back.Got the salad back to my truck, which was 6 blocks away, only to find that my grilled Chicken Caesar salad had no Caesar dressing. It had chicken, lettuce, croutons, and shredded Parmesancheese. Not HappyOnly had 1/2 hour for lunch, could not walk back.
The food here was okay, nothing extraordinary. Service was not good at all. Our waiter was very rude and acted as if we didnt exist. The waiter also rushed his time with us. Definitely would not recommend. You can find better food and service at a different restaurant.
This would have been 2 stars if not for the fried calamari which was one of the best Ive ever had, it was cooked perfectly and the peppers were a unique addition. The chicken parm however did not live up to the expectation, especially at $25 dollars. It was dry and the sauce was scant. I dont think I would return.
I had some really great linguine vongole here while meeting with family. The mozzarella sticks (which may not be listed on the menu, but I recommend asking for them) are also really good. Ive heard that this is because they make the mozzarella fresh, and I guess Id believe it.Its a good-looking restaurant, and the waitstaff was really quick on keeping my water filled. Eventually they got the hint and just left the carafe at the table, which I really appreciate.
Solid Italian American place. Great for kids. The menu is relatively small but offer a good variety of choices for every palate . No matter what you order you must try the spicy rotini. The sandwiches are huge and very tasty . Fairly priced for NYC The staff is very nice and accommodating.
Honestly not worth the hype. My chicken was a really weird texture and the bread was crumbly and my sandwich was cold. The ice cream cake was good but it is literally just ice cream so it’s hard to mess up.There’s a chicken parm truck right outside Rockefeller center that is both cheaper and more delicious.
Thank you Parm! You truly understand customer service. We were stuck in traffic coming into the city from NJ. When we finally made it to the restaurant we only had about 40 minutes to order and eat as we were attending a show around the corner at the Triad at 7pm. The staff had prepared appetizers for us to have while we waited for our food. Everything was delicious! We wish we had more time to savor the food. We will definitely return!
The food was OK for what it was, but the service was poor. We were the only people there for a while, and still no one stopped by to refill our drinks or check on us. It took longer to get us our food than those who ordered after, although we ordered the same thing. The servers seemed unconcerned and stood around eating scraps in the kitchen while we sat waiting for someone to come check on us. All things considered, its not a $15 sandwich when you get service like that. The employees ruined my experience this time around.
Great hero and Caesar salad. Upon entering, they had a pasta extruder out expelling fresh rotini, which was a good indicator of the quality that would follow. The menu size is perfect - just do several things well and not try to appease every age group or demographic. Thanks Parm!
During the cooler months, the front section/half of Parm gets absolutely freezing. My friend and I had to wear our jackets sitting in the front section, and our tables were too close to the tables around us to even exit the restaurant without knocking over peoples purses and water glasses. They need more insulated glass or better heaters up front, and to space out the tables more generously. Otherwise, the food is good. Highly recommend the eggplant parm! Breaded to perfection and 10 layers of goodness, though maybe not $18 worth.
This is the place for Italian red sauce and meatball kind of place. Casual and comfortable when u get in, and menus are friendly. (Ex. Sandwich, pasta salad, sides, kids). It is It used to be my favorite place cuz the food were good.I think there was some changes lately, food is not as good as before and it makes me feel like im overpaying for what it is. I ordered two hero sandwiches, spaghetti and rosemary potato. Spaghetti was not seasoned and tomato sauce were sour. Rosemary potato was not an oven baked but crushed and deep fried which is fine but half of the potatoes were undercooked. Sandwiches were good just not special. Total was little over $80. If im in the area, I might go back if im super hungry, but wouldnt make my trip to go there.
I love this place. I ate here and I used to work here. Definitely tried an eggplant parm for the first time there. It opened my taste buds and my mind . Absolutely loved it. And Im no type of vegan at all. Also the meatballs. Omg and the parm fries with the spicy mayo. Lol dont take my word for it. Go try it. 235 Columbus . Wait and its a sandwich I think its a zertsky but I could definitely be screwing the name. Its roast beef tho for sure. Its amazeballs. Kk now Im done. Go try all of that!!
Obviously well known for their Chicken Parm sandwich, but their Roast Turkey sandwich is probably the best Ive had anywhere. You can tell their it spends hours slow cooking with ever bite. Used to go out of my way to their location in the village, so Im very happy to welcome this location to the UWS.
It is an italian style dinner. We ordered an eggplant parm and a chicken parm. It was good but nothing extraordinary. However, I founs it very expensive for the amount of food we got. Specialy the chicken parm, 25 dolars for three chicken cuts! I would not rrcommend anyone to go there. Maybe it is better if you order a sandwich.
Very nice place to eat, excellent chicken parmesan sandwich. When placing your order youll see a machine making fresh pasta, A great service staff with the old school way of doing things with style, it brought back memories of good food at a great place to eat it at.
I walked here the other day because I was checking out the neighborhood which I just move into a few days ago. Anyway I hear of this place but never got a chance to go here. I was excited and came in just to look around but Frank(owner I think) was so nice and he keep giving me sample to try and of course I took it and started to think what I wanted to make. I like how personal this place was and it felt so much better then Eately in Midtown. I cant wait to go back and buy more things to cook with. A gem of a place!! Plus the food taste decent.
My vegetarian friends raved over the eggplant parm so we came here for dinner. I got the chicken parm, which I enjoyed but didnt love a much as they did the eggplant. At $25, the chicken parm dinner seemed overpriced for what I got. Another friend got the zucchini fries, which she loved. For dessert four of us shared a slice of their smores ice cream cake, which was outstanding. Id definitely buy a whole ice cream cake from Parm. Overall we had an enjoyable dinner. The wait staff were efficient and friendly and their welcoming nature only increased the enjoyment of our visit.
Omg, near the 68st lincoln AMC theaters, great food & kind and friendly service. They give complemtary bread service with crisp drinking water. The food was great, as they offer a great kids meal and unbelievable dishes, such as their chic parm dinner and chic parm sandwich. The wait was less then 5min, but the host was not social at all, no smile no enjoy & no nothing. Its a great family oriented restaurant to have a good dinner before or after your local events.
Just ordered takeout and was very disappointed in the size of the portions. Ordered the Cavatelli pasta and the portion looked like a childs. for the price , I think they need to reexamine there portion size. The food was tasty, but there are other places nearby which also have tasty food and adult portions.
Parm is a step up from from those $6 heroes you get at low end barely Italian places but its nothing to rave home about. I split a meatball and chicken parm hero with a friend. The meatball was really really good, one of the best meatball subs Ive had. The parm wasnt that great. Chicken was too thick, overcooked, and lacked flavor. I would not order it again. Prices are on the high side and $15 for a meatball sub is a bit much. I dont think I would come back personally, really didnt woo me.
Looking for a solid Italian meal on the UWS but dont care for vibe or too many menu options? Youll love Parm. My partner and I started with the Chicken Caesar Salad (so good) and for our entree, shared the 10-Layer Eggplant Parmesan (good but not mind-blowing). I will be back and next time Im getting the chicken Parmesan!
The most obnoxious and condescending staff. Called to place an order and the guy told me he doesn’t have time for me asking him questions about a dish because he got soooo many people on the other lines waiting to place orders. This place should be ashamed of its employees and reevaluate their hiring process. I cancelled an order worth over $150 and I suggest you do the same.
Went to the opening of Parm last night.Atmosphere: lively, but not too crowded, even for opening night. Lots of waiters and front of the house staff. Speakers pumping out the oldies, nonstop.Appetizers: Ordered the fried calamari, garlic bread and mozzarella sticks. The mozzarella is top notch and the breading was well-seasoned with a great crunch. The garlic bread was delicious - soaked in butter, garlic, oil and seasoned beautifully - it comes with a side of marinara sauce and ricotta with a bit of olive oil. The ricotta, similar to the mozzarella, was superb- fresh and perfect.Vegetables: NOTE- these are served chilled, like antipasti. Ordered the brussel sprouts, charred broccoli, and mushrooms. The sprouts and broccoli were flavorful, but I couldnt get past them being cold. I think they would have been far better served warm. The waiter did mention that a hot vegetable option would make its way to the menu soon.Main courses: Ordered the chicken parm sandwaich on a hero and baked ziti. Originally wanted the penne fra diavolo in pink sauce with shrimp, but the kitchen was out of that. The baked ziti was a delicious second choice. Perfect combination of noodles, cheeses, red sauce and a great crunch. My partners chicken parm sandwich was incredible. The chicken was tender and juicy. The semolina hero complimented the chicken, sauce and cheese perfectly.Beverages: Wine list by the glass was decent. I had a pinot grigio that was sweeter than usual which I enjoyed. My partners parmacolada - Parms take on a pina colada - was extremely tasty and heavy on the alcohol.I will definitely be back to Parm, many times Its a great neighborhood italian restaurant from the great Torrisi brothers. Having been to Carbone, their more upscale eatery, Parms food quality and taste is just as good.
Was there today (9/10/18) around 4pm. Waited ten minutes to be seated even tho there was only 2 other patrons inside the establishment and multiple workers just mulling around chatting amongst themselves. When seated, I waited 20 minutes and didn’t even get offered water, no waiter/waitress even said “please give me five minutes”. Because I would’ve understood that bc I’m not unreasonable. Nothing but the other employees continuing to look at me like an imbecile. And after those twenty minutes I gave them an extra 5 just to be fair. Then I just grabbed my things and left. And they still just looked at me.
Although Parm’s specialty is obviously its namesake, I personally am a fan of their appetizers. Their Zucchini fries are thin, crisp, and the best thing on the menu. Their mozzarella sticks, although pricy, use really high quality mozzarella, and you can definitely tell the difference. Their s’mores ice cream cake is also a fun dessert.
This was a real awesome spot if youre looking for real great pasta, parm and other sandwiches. Honestly, save room for dessert and get the Smores Ice Cream cake; I promise you wont be disappointed. Just an FYI, they are huge slices and can easily be shared by 2-3 people.
Favorite restaurant on the UWS. Always get the fresh mozzarella, garlic bread, and baked ziti (always comes well done - as it should!). The Sunday salad is fresh and crisp. If you somehow still have room, they have terrific ice cream cakes that change every couple of months.
I love, love, love Parms Mulberry location. For some reason when they expanded to UES they completely changed the menu - in particular they left out the sandwiches on crusty sesame bread that everyone associates with Parm. What I ordered was fairly tasty but well below my expectations for the Parm name.
Just went to Parm for the second time. So good!! Had the chicken parm dinner, rigatoni fra diavolo, crispy zucchini, and Italian fries. The chicken parm is the best Ive ever had and a large serving. The sauce on the rigatoni is spicy and full of flavor--my new favorite. Zucchini fries are shoestring and very crispy- good choice as a side. Italian fries are a classic. Only downside is that they serve coke instead of Pepsi.

2022-07-17Went there on a weeknight, right before happy hour ended. Happy hour deals only apply if you’re sitting at the bar. We ordered aperol spritz and pizza knots. We eventually ordered a chicken Parmesan sandwich (no picture taken) and fries (also no picture). The chicken parm was big enough to split among two. Great food and nice environment.

2022-04-22Best eggplant hero I’ve ever had!!! Sauce is so delicious and the bread is so fresh. I absolutely loved it and maybe I didn’t get the best picture but it is a tasty sandwich. I also got takeout and ate this at Central Park which is steps away. Hidden gem

2022-05-19I genuinely love this place. Every time I go, the staff are friendly, the food is great, and the vibes are right, even when they’re busy.Having a smaller menu has allowed Parm to perfect every dish. Even though they’re famous for their sandwiches, the pastas are great too. I especially love the rigatoni with pink sauce; it has the perfect amount of spice. Their Caesar salad also has excellent cheese coverage and yummy croutons. I tried the baked ziti with meat gravy today for the first time and it was very flavorful. They have a happy hour at the bar 4-7pm Mon thru Fri with $6 apps and half off certain drinks. Highly recommend!

2022-05-08The restaurant is so cute, it looks like a combination of an old school 50s diner and a pizzeria. I heard about the restaurant through the internet and decided to go on a rainy day so I knew it wouldn’t be packed. We went early afternoon, the hostess greeted us and sat us. The back of the restaurant has beautiful natural light coming in from the ceiling. We started with Mozzarella sticks and the batter and cheese were delicious, I believe it was cake batter but it was the best mozz sticks I’ve ever had. We both ordered the chicken parm dinner and upgraded the pasta to home made pasta for $4. The food came out quickly and our waiter was very attentive. The chicken parm dinner with the pasta was unbelievably good. My boyfriend is a big fan of chicken parm and he couldn’t stop saying this was the best plate of food he’s had in awhile. We didn’t get desert but definitely plan on going back in the future.

2022-01-19Got the chicken parm from Parm. I was absolutely not disappointed. The serving size was hefty and I had leftovers for lunch the next day. The use of the fresh mozzarella was perfect. I got the spicy rigatoni as the side. Wasn’t that spicy at all. I got it through Door Dash so it was a little cold when it arrived but that’s to be expected in the winter. Can’t wait to order this dish again!

2021-10-21Usually bike past parm restaurant though today decided to go there for take out dinner. it was a weekday and got there before 6pm. there was outdoor seating which was getting full compared to the indoor seating which had just 2 tables occupied. as mentioned, the restaurant is along the uws bike lane and is 2 blocks from a citibike docking station. the last time I biked by was on a Saturday night and it looked pretty full.I had looked over the menu online and chose to order their parm chicken parm on hero and the eggplant parm also on a hero. the reviews I read mention garlic bread but not just the regular one but one must order deluxe.Take out order took a little over 10mins and the paper bag emitted a pleasant chicken aroma. couldnt wait to get home. So, how was it? We tried the garlic bread first (make sure you add the accompanying garlic spread) and it was delicious. my wife even said it was the best ever that she has tasted. Got a half slice of the chicken which was good though my wife said it was ok. We both liked the eggplant parm.I think there are other locations but this is nearest to me (about a mile walk one way). Highly recommend for a quick bite.

2022-04-15I heard babish, the guy who cooks on youtube, recomended this place. I was around the city, so i gave it a go. When I tell you, this is the best f*cking chicken parm in my life, i am not lying. The spicy rigatoni paired those juicy cheesy saucy breaded chicken thighs in a way that i can’t describe. Literally incredible in every way. Don’t miss out on such incredible plate. The flavors are amazing and every bite is heavenly.

2022-05-02Rigatoni Carbone was SPLENDID (and 1/2 the price of Carbone!!). Spicy and saucy. Pasta was cooked Al dente (traditional, but not my favorite. Will definitely be back.

2022-06-03Great place with good food. I sat and ate at the bar, and the bartender was friendly and inviting.Theyre selection of non-cocktail alcoholic beverages isnt the largest, but this was a restaurant first, bar second so I cant complain too much. They do have the ability to make an assortment of cocktails if that interests you.The food was great and had picture perfect presentation. The Baked Ziti I had didnt come out hot, but otherwise tasted amazing.I would recommend going here for the great Italian food.
