The best part is location. You can walk everywhere from their place. Its an older motel, so its, well, old. Free parking is a plus. Linens were clean as was the room. The bathroom is in desperate need of a redo. Old school sink with a crack in it and a tile rimed tub that is probably not possible to get the grout clean. They came in mid day and straightened up and nothing of ours was messed with. But really, the location for the price cant be beat. We walked to the Falls several times, and if you walk straight towards the river, you can go through the old power plant. That was cool. I recommend passport inn because it was safe and close to everything and the young man running it is very nice and helpful, but dont be expecting 5 star hotel.
Great location! Within walking distance to the falls and many restaurants. The owners were incredibly nice and accommodating. My family needed special accommodations that they honored for us. They also shipped me back the ring I left in the room. The AC worked great, which was fantastic because it was a particularly hot day.
Got to the Inn early in the afternoon. Only one other vehicle in the parking lot. As it was advertised online to be $98 a night for one night, but our stay became less than desirable. As we entered the establishment the front counter person was nice and informative on local attractions. The key thing is the neighborhood, abandoned buildings and all around desolation that gave off a creepy vibe. We went to our room but didnt have the chance to really look at it because we were excited to see the Falls. However our excitement turned sour when we finally came back to our room. We turned on the over head light and we noticed there were no bed side lamps to use, no hotel telephone in case of an emergency, only a single power outlet for personal use that wasnt even by the bed to charge your phone. The bathroom had no outlet for a blow dryer, mis matched sink, toilet and tub. The bathroom had a nasty film of some gunk that looks like it hadnt been washed For awhile. For the price that we paid you would think they could maintain a theme. We have traveled to other hotels that cost less and still had matching furniture and amenities. It took 30mins for the water to get just warm enough to shower. The bathroom door was in need of repair as though it had been kicked in and resprayed by cheap products. My husband went to turn the heat up in the room after his shower but oh my god when it kicked on it started smoking and caused the fire alarm to go off. So he had to unplug the A/C so it wouldnt catch fire but since there were no hotel phones in the room we would have had to scream and yell for help if something really happened. No locks on the inside of the doors for extra security so my husband put a chair against the door along with our suitcases. Lots of banging sounds through the night which was very uncalled for but since no phone, cant call front desk...No one came to take ours keys back when we checked out in the morning. The whole experience was eye opening and almost egregious. I want others who read this review to understand why I took the time to type this. Dont rent a room here unless you are in desperate need of accommodations and you better off sleeping in your car. Never again and sorry to those whom this review will not be read and taken as a warning .If I could, it would be 0/5 stars.
This is an older drive up to the door property but that does NOT detract from the fact that it has been well maintained and was spotlessly clean. An absolute GEM of a find if youre seeking reasonable prices for facilities rendered. It certainly is not a Hilton or Marriott by a long shot but it was comfortable, hand plenty of hot water and was warm and cozy over two snow days without the heated pool, the overly decorated lobby or the perpetually boring breakfast (non offered, BTW). Fridge, microwave and hairdryer a plus in this clean, comfortable basics motel ... absolutely worthwhile!
The only good thing about this hotel is that location was relatively close to falls. Within walking distance. Inside the room everything seemed dirty and I was afraid to sleep in that bed. Shower looked awful too. White towels were not really white. Mold smell is not the end of it. For one night ended up paying $80 on a Saturday. True value is probably around $40. Not to mention busy street next to hotel, could hear honking all night. And the night club across the street didnt help neither. Worse hotel I stayed in...wouldnt recommend.
The room was ok, except had no lamps on the nightstands. The maid didnt change the sheets, but did remove the soiled towels. The location is 5-10 min walk to Niagara Falls, so that was the excellent. In other words, it was cheap for two nights, so you get what you pay for
Terrible experience. I got sick before my travel ( fever and I actually went to the hospital) and I called to cancel my reservation. Hoping they will understand They didnt even care about if it was the Covid 19, they just care about the money, they said they couldnt return the money, which was a lie. ( If you booked through Booking and if you dont stay at the hotels; the hotel cant charge your card bc they dont have it anyway, I realized everything later). I didnt want to travel I was feeling so bad but I didnt want to lose my money either, so my and my mom ( 71 ys) amd my bf traveled. The place was dirty, the coffe bag from previous guest was still there, sheets were with stains, bathroom dirty, the walls dirty, beds extremely uncomfortable. The man in the front fesk charge me for an extra person, the trip was originally planned for my mom and I, but bc I was so sick my bf joins us so he drove us. I had booked 2 queen beds, I asked as a favor if he can just not charged for the extra person bc we didnt need an extra bed, and like I said I feel they just care about the money. The indu man said if u pay me in cash I can do cheaper, he didnt even gave me a receipt for that. The floor was disgusting and just the lack of humanity was what made me wrote the experience, they helped me moving the date I should arrived for the next day but they should just be more human and consider the fact I was sick with fever that I could carry the virus and just cancel my reservation. Service is important in every single business and even he was trying to be nice, I feel he just want money and money. I said to myself well its a cheap place in a very nice area but I google more places for same days and the Quality Inn at the Falls ( Hotel with pool, and gym, bigger rooms and better location) they have same rate as this joint for that weekend. So for the same price try to book in Quality Inn Im sure you can find a better deal. For me its important to be in a clean place and it was disgusting sleeping in sheets that had stains and dirty bathrooms. I wanted to no stay there and I was wondering how I could do that? But once I gave him my credit card it was over, I wanted to complaint with Booking but i realized later on my email that he cancel the reservation and he charged himself with his business platform. Please dont booked here. Im going to complaint with Booking and chanel 12 for this un-human treatment. Just bc im hispanic and I dont speak very good English they shouldnt take advantage of me and thats how they made me feel.
I dont know since when swindling became legal in this country. I paid about $140 per room since I went during the peak season. It was last minute decision to visit Niagara and this was the closest we could get to the Falls. The location is like 10 minute walk from the Falls area. For the price, I found my experience to be horrible. I did not have high expectations of this place since I had read the review beforehand. But I had hoped that the rooms would be clean. The place has dingy room and is smelly. I dont believe they have ever washed their linen. The toilet leaked and they did not provide us with soap/ shampoo. We were there only for a night (and thank god for it!!!) and I would not recommend that place to anyone for that price. I think it is not worth more than $60/night during peak season.I was also scared that the place had bedbugs since I felt itchy when in bed. So I did not take much of my stuff out. Please dont go there. Plan a little ahead and have an enjoyable experience.
Nothing fancy, but it had the essentials. The Passport Inn seemed to be in a safe area and was very close to the Falls. Great air conditioning and nice sized TV, king sized bed, bright overhead lighting and working shower/sink. The bathroom shelf and sink knobs needed to be tightened, but everything else worked fine. One of the owners mentioned that they had just acquired the business two weeks or so ago, and they seemed ambitious regarding repairs and updates.
The hotel is located in a decent spot, close to everything and literally walking distance to the falls. A $100 a night hotel that is comparable to a red roof in, only a lot less maintained. Stains on the walls, chips in the paint, dingy little dim lit rooms with a motel layout. Toilet is nasty, only given minimum towels, and bare minimum soaps for the bathrooms. On a weekend 10 minute walk from the falls in mid may there is only one other customer here. There is a $50,000 Audi A3 s series sitting in the parking lot (the owners I assume) One person running the entire place who seems to not care a whole lot about the customers. I arrived and checked online and it said $69 a night (I booked 2 months ago). Upon getting here I made a comment about how it says its now cheaper online, and was told that is the price before tax and the taxes bring the price up a whole $31 a night. Unbeleivable. The bathroom is tiny, cramped, and dirty. I dont even want to shower in there. They made me pay in full upon arriving before I could even see the room. Im assuming because they knew I wouldnt pay if I saw. I wouldnt recommend this place to anyone.
The service was friendly, and pleasant. The parking space in the lot are very small. The room was clean, but smells like a horrible mens cologne because of the air freshener. That problem was solved by unplugging the air freshener. The bathroom needs work. The caulking was horrible, some tiles are broke, and the fan doesnt work well.
I honestly wish I could give this place no stars. Blood stains on the walls and bed sheets. Every layer pulled off of the bed was more horrifying than the last. You can tell the rooms are not maintained nor have the sheets ever been replaced. Everything about this room was creepy and uncomfortable. The fridge was filthy and so was the shower. The smoke detector did not work at all and there are cigarette burns in everything. Luckily we had an air mattress in the car and were able to make due. Would never ever ever consider booking here again. Also, we had to go and ask for toilet paper. So unacceptable, this place needs to be burned down.
Looking at other reviews we were worried but when we arrived we found out that place is under new management. Rooms were decent with all amenities you expect. TV, fridge, microwave, beds were new. Thanks for allowing us to park after checkout. Will definitely visit again next year.
Air conditioner did not work. Shower drained very very slow. Stains and bad plaster/paint on walls. Last person didnt flush the toilet. Carpet stained and dirty. Ceiling fan did not work in bathroom. Glass in window broken. View out window is of a faded red brick and cracked cement building. Will not be staying here again.
This hotel does not even deserve one star. It is absolutely disgusting and I have no idea how it is still running. When you try to access the rooms there is an immense amount of spiders outside. Like seriously there is an infestation. Not to mention that it also has bed bugs! Save yourself the money from these people an stay in a much better place.
The bathroom was outdated and not very clean. It did not even have a hand towel. The bathtub was stained and the paint or porcelain was cracked and chipping away. There was not no lamp in the room. No radio or alarm clock. There was food left from the previous guest left in the fridge. I have to say for the price i was not impressed and very disappointed.
The beds were hard. And the bathtub was moldy and the staff didn’t clean it properly. This is a terrible motel and I can’t believe they have this place exist. Indians work here basically they don’t keep there rooms clean. Don’t even come to this place. The less people more it will go bankrupt.
Everything was great the whole week in till we found the mice, or well... they found us. Dont come.here until they get rid of the mice, doubt they will though, a hotel, they are cheapskates. Edit:dont get put in room 101 it has a electrical wiring where if the overhead light gets turned off, every plug except for the one near the tv turns off.
I live here and I would not let my worst enemy stay here. Even a prostitute would NOT rent this room for a 30 minute stay. The owner attempted to rip me off with a overpriced unclean room that made a house in the middle of the ghetto riddled by crackheads more desirable. I felt awful because I rented a room for a friend and QUICKLY paid for a higher priced room. DO NOT STAY HERE. You will need shots.
This is -5 star in rating. Smelly room. Had fridge, microwave, TV and lamp. Non of these above were in working condition. Absolute frustrating things were in the bathroom. Think how you feel when you see some black residue chocking bathtub drain and you are standing in the same water which takes 10 minutes to drain. Same with toilet flush which takes forever to drain. Non of my Wifi enabled devices could see any WIFI connection available at this place. Absolutely worst place to stay. This place should be closed. How come such business is allowed by authority.
These incense in this room smell fantastic. Get u some when u come. Use ur cell cause theres no landlines. They went out of style. Smily faces of the owners and staff. Tubs are old and need resufacing. Dont look clean. Thanky you for giving us the 1st military discount at your business. :) Have a loving holiday #MadamPresidentoctaviawellsobama
Stayed there with my wife for a weekend trip to Niagara Falls. I will always regret that I made my wife stay there. Room smelled like a dumpster. Mattress was broken. Room chairs were broken. Bathroom was smelly and shower curtain was all molded and smelling. Please dont ruin your trip by staying in such a garbage place.....! Il try if I can post the pictures I took, because the pictures that hotel have uploaded on websites are complete opposite.
Worst hotel ever, very small smelly room, dirty fridge and microwave , dirty blankets, sheets, carpets &ceilings, molds in the bathroom and most of all hundreds of bedbugs waiting under your bed to suck your blood !! We stayed there with our 3 month old daughter and i could hve let her sleep on the bed with this yacky smelling and infectious bedbugs!
I dont even want to give them a star this place was a false advertisement of the place & pictures of what the hotel was suppose to be wasnt what they post it to look like the place is a disgrace in plain English its a friggin dump the place was dirty the shower was disgusting u couldnt even take a shower the worst place ever I recommend u do not book here we had to leave & find another hotel & lost money in the process because they wouldnt give us a refund sooo I truly would not stay here !!!!!!!!!!
Me and my fiance stayed at the passport inn for 2 nights and the only good thing about the hotel was it was close to all the attractions in niagra falls...the sheets on the bed had stains on them and the refrigerator didnt work...there room and the bathroom looked like it hasnt been cleaned in a while and when I went to go take a shower the handle broke off of the shower..luckily I was able to put it back on and take a shower....maybe some of the other rooms were better kept but all I can say is thank goodness we only had to sleep in there.
My bf and I just got the heck out of the place. We had come for a nice cozy night for his birthday and laid on the bed to watch tv... Next thing you know theres a fricken bed bugs crawling on the bed. We grabbed our stuff and we were out. Never coming back there again. What a horrible night... 😡😡😡😡
Met the owners, they had just acquired the place 2 days prior, very nice family, despite the way it was,I know that they will turn the place around, very close by to the falls, very accommodating, will definitely do business again, had car trouble and they didnt hesitate on finding an alternative, even though that I live 4 hrs away in Ohio, honestly cant wait to see the transformation, with their renovations, will definitely do business again!!,thanks for everything!!! A+++
The classic American movie motel: dirty, grimy, smelly. It is unacceptable to pay for a service like the one offered by the Passport Inn: if you are looking for a comfortable and clean room, stay away. Beyond the stains on the sheets and the patches in the bathtub, what is most striking when entering the room is the smell: disgusting. For the rest it is the cheapest motel near the Niagara Falls we found (August 2014) and if you want to spend little on the real price to pay is as described in this review. The parking below the rooms is free and reserved for customers. WiFi free.
Just entering the room almost smells like the smell of tobacco and piss. There were drops of blood in the sink, and pubic hairs in the bathtub. When we opened the refrigerator we discovered a phlegm ... the sheets we had to remove the disgust that gave us and still sleeping on towels dawned with bites all over the body. Otherwise, all good.
Dirty and smelly, the room had not been cleaned, the bathtub was black and full of hair. But the worst thing was coming out with more than 100 bed bug bites that have caused me an allergic reaction that has made me go through the emergency room. This hotel has been very expensive for me.

2022-05-09The man and woman at the office were incredibly friendly during check-in, and we experienced probably the fastest check-in I’ve ever experienced having booked ahead with booking.com. They had our name and key ready and waiting. The king bed room was perfect size for a couple. Clean room, bedding, bathroom and towels. We enjoyed the location for easy walking to nearby attractions, dining, etc. excellent choice and the price was significantly less than the other nearby lodging options. Free parking. Good WiFi.

2022-06-21They are friendly, but, provide no services. We went out the entire day to the falls, only to comeback to damp dirty towels, beds werent made, no clean sheets, no vacuum in room. THEY CLAIMS COVID, WHILE AT THE SAME TIME, NOT WEARING A MASK.438.00 FOT TWO NIGHTS, NOT WORTH IT. BUYER, BEWARE.

2022-05-12An acceptable place with the fair price. It’s not the best like luxury hotels but you have a clean room with hot water, quiet environment and very responsive and friendly staff.

2021-06-28I gave five stars not because it was a five star hotel but because for the cost I believe we got an amazing stay. The hotel owner was a very friendly and knowledgeable person. He told us where the best places were and how to get there. We were in a central location walking to action was easy, even with a five year old. I would suggest using a car to drive to cheaper food. The rooms were very clean and place was quiet.

2021-06-15Decided to stay an extra night and needed a room on the cheap. When paying less than $200 a night in a tourist town such as this…..you have to expect to get what you pay for. That’s why I am giving this place 5 stars. I pulled in after booking a non-refundable night and was so scared about what the room was going to be. The worst thing was that it small. And kinda plain, but if you plan to enjoy the nature around you and only need a place to lay your head (for no more than 2 people). It is perfect. It’s old….yeah, but served it’s purpose and I’d do it again. Quickest check-in ever and the staff was super friendly.

2020-08-10Disgusting. Took advantage of the fact that we were young and attempted to charge us over 800$ for two disgusting rooms filled with spiders and garbage from previous visitors. Only good thing was it was about 20 min walk to the falls, but trust me there are better places nearby worth your while. The owner had a disgusting attitude with each guest and made us feel very unwelcome s. Overall, did not completely ruin the trip but definitely did not help it

2020-08-09I really enjoyed my stay. They’ve fixed their problems from before! The staff was lovely and kind to us, and helped us when we were a bit confused on something. The location of the inn was about 5 minutes away from the falls!! I loved it!! The beds were a little hard for my family, but other than that, our stay was very enjoyable! I’m glad I came here.
