Excellent location and wonderful menu with many options to choose from. Service was prompt and attentive. We ordered the fried calamari as an appetizer, highly recommend. My son ordered the penne alla vodka which he enjoyed, my wife ordered the grandmas thin crust pizza and loved it! I ordered the fettuccini/mushroom parmesan cheese wheel special which was amazing. Our waiter prepared this table side in an enormous wheel of cheese, dinner and a show!! We will be returning to Pasta Lovers during our next NYC visit!
Staff and Manager were friendly and attentive. Food was excellent. Went on June 25, 2022 to commemorate my 33rd Wedding Anniversary.Though I went alone, as my husband passed away on June 27, 2020, 2 days after our 31st anniversary. It was a pleasant experience. Will definitely return. Happy I made the trip from New Jersey.
Best Food we had in New York hands down. Very nice atmosphere with a nice classic rock radio station playing hits everyone would know. My first bite of Fettuccine Alfredo almost made me cry because it was so good in comparison to most of the stuff we had eaten in New York. Great service as well.Side Note: I see a lot of people complaining about portion sizes... why? The dishes are made for one person dont order a dish for two people then complain when its not enough. I was stuffed full by the time we left.
Staff attentive, friendly and customer focused. Food tasty but a bit overpriced. Lobster bisque was 10$ and it tasted like true lobster stock with imitation crab. Seafood salad was good except ridicchio was inedible and sadly I only got 1 single scallop. Recommend 8/10
The ambiance was amazing and the staff were pleasant enough but every single item I had that night was extremely salty. I could literally feel my blood pressure rising and I left with an intense headache. It was disappointing because I wanted to go for so long and their Instagram feed gave me such high hopes of them.
My boyfriend and I went to this location for dinner before a show and were both blown away by the speed and service we received by Spiro (I hope Im spelling his name right!!)I ordered the Baked Ziti, he ordered the Spagetti Carbonara and we both had a drink with our meal. Weve never seen food come out that fast - to the point that weve waited longer at McDonalds than we did here. Both were delicious and the wine was exceptional. We shared a slice of cheesecake after dinner. It was a really nice atmosphere and we enjoyed our experience. The only thing that affected our overall experience was the price. Tip included, our bill came to around $50 each which is probably reasonable for this type of dining in this area, but it was significantly more than we typically would have paid for a night out.
Staff was extraordinary rude, I could clearly see a young lady and gentlemen who were serving my family and I making fun of us at the staging area. Waitress seemed high and was very quiet. Large quantities but food isn’t worth writing home over. Terrible service, bad food, 1 star.
I went yesterday with my family after sister graduation and had a good time. Romantic setting and spacious environment. Spiro (hope thats how you spell the young man name) provided excellent customer service and was terrific waiter. The food (I had fettuccini alfredo & margherita pizza) was delicious!!! Definitely will be coming back and recommending this restaurant to friends & colleagues
Absolutely worth the 2 hour plus drive from Philadelphia. Due to covid-19 restrictions I couldnt eat inside the restaurant. They have n outside shed built which is sufficient. Could be made to be warmer but it works. The food was very good. The portions are not what you expect, but this isnt a chain brand. The service was great. Everything was clean and on point.Once they allow inside dining Im definitely coming back.Highly recommend this restaurant
My son and I came across this restaurant after visiting the Top of the Rock. We were pretty hungry and we wanted a nice dinner. This is a brick oven pizza and pasta restaurant so we couldnt go wrong especially with an 11 year old. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, you have the option of eating indoors or outdoors. We chose to eat indoors for the first time since the pandemic. Everyone was seated in social distance from each other. The customer service was very good. The waitress was very nice to us and we got the food and drinks we wanted pretty quickly. We had calamari for appetizer and had a toss between spaghetti and meatballs and baked Ziti so the waitress suggested baked Ziti with meatballs. It was very tasteful and filling. She also made me a great Chocolate Martini. I would definitely recommend this place and I hope it stays open for a long time.
Good quality Italian food. Pizza is baked in brick oven and are delicious and of good portions(even if you order small) and salads are great and of good portions. Service is good. The restaurant had a typical New York feel and is bustling. Reasonably priced for Nrw York standards.Coffee, however, is poor!
Located right next to Times Square, this restaurant has a classy setting and really generous staff. Special mention to Nick, Dennis and Ronnie who were super friendly and the sweetest guys serving us! As the name suggests their USP is their huge variety of Pasta. If youre active on Instagram then you must have definitely watched the viral video of their incredible Fried Mozzarella so of course we had to get that! The Fried Mozzarella is basically like Mozzarella sticks but way beyond perfection. The marinara sauce served along was absolutely delicious and went so well with the fried Mozzarella.Next, we ordered their Special Cheese Wheel Hennessy Pasta which is a MUST TRY or else youll regret it all your life! Firstly, the presentation was on point. They brought in the whole Parmesan cheese wheel at our table and torched it up with Hennessy and doused the Fettucine into the cheese. The pasted was supremely buttery and creamy and we totally loved it!From their variety of Pizzas, the Grandmas pizza struck our eye so we got ourselves that. This was a square shaped thin crust pizza with the goodness of marinara, cheese and pesto drizzled on top. The pesto was a game changer and it blew us away! Loved it!For dessert, we went for the New York Style Cheesecake and the Molten Chocolate Cake. The cheesecake was just so smooth and delicious but the Chocolate cake was the one which won our hearts! The Molten cake is filled with molten dark chocolate at the center and it literally defines the term soul satisfying!Overall, Pasta Lovers is a perfect spot for good food and drinks and for any occasion like a date or casual meal. Huge thumbs up to the nicest staff!
2019 and is our 2nd visit to New York, we tried this place and I have to tell you were ate both 100% Italian. The food is good, the service is very quick and polite and the price is spot on, but despite the name and looks it is not a Italian joint. The pasta was well cooked but the sauce was just an impression of the real deal, Ill definitely recommend the pizza because its fire oven cooked tasty and has the right size.
Restaurant was nice and clean. Staff seemed nice and respectable. we did feel like Gordon Ramsay was going to jump out once the food came out. My sister’s pasta looked like it’d been microwaved and my partners pasta was cold. I had a pizza which was nice.Maybe it was a bad time, the restaurant didn’t appear busy which should of been a give away.Didn’t think the food was massively over priced but I wouldn’t go back.
Randomly dropped by after a day of museums, the mushroom pasta in the Parmesan wheel seemed delicious but tasted like vodka and mushrooms. The rigatoni giadenera was delicious but we could not taste or see the $4 proscuitto. The clams were cooked in 500% of the normal amount of salt. Overall not terrible but definitely would not come back.
Best margherita pizza I’ve ever had. We also had the lasagna since it said on the menu it was one of their best dishes. It was really good and I liked that they let us finish the pizza and then brought out the pasta. Everything was delicious including my ginger ale! Service was great! I would definitely go back!
We picked this place when we were just walking down the street. I checked reviews before solidifying our decision, of course, and was excited. My initial reaction was confusion. Their name and the ambiance don’t really match; the ambiance is nice, however. The waiters were nice, but didn’t really wait on us. Our table was near the kitchen and we could see them chit chatting and laughing with each other. They never came and checked on us.Food was not worth the money. The lasagna we got had noodles that weren’t cooked all the way through. Everything else in it was good, but it’s hard to enjoy when you can even chew the noodles. We also got the fettuccine Alfredo, which I was sorely disappointed about. Reviews raved about it, but it was bland and below average. We are more bread than we did our dishes. The bread was 5 stars, no doubt. The butter that came with it during our first round, was hard as a rock though.
We recently came here on our trip to NYC. The restaurant atmosphere was pretty nice, however about half of the staff here were not wearing their masks. The man who led us to our seat and took our order both were not wearing their mask. Our food came out pretty fast which was great, however we were never checked on once while eating. We had to physically get up to ask for water during our meal because no one had come the whole time. We asked for the water pitcher to sit on our table because of the lack of service and they refused.I ordered a margarita pizza which was ok, but there was no tomatoes on it and barely any basil. The texture was nice, crispy crust, but lacked flavor. Others in my party ordered Pasta plates which were burnt on the bottom but they said it was good overall.Wasn’t amazing but not a bad place.
It is a place that I likely wouldnt have picked except for the fact that we had walked so long that day and done a SITC tour. So we stopped for the Cosmos in honor of the tour. It was busy enough, definitely a tourist joint. The cocktails were on Happy Hour so that was a bonus. $8 bucks. Bartender seemed decent but too busy. She got us our drinks on time. We didnt order food. I would go back for another drink but am skeptical about eating here because it is reminiscent of a chain restaurant.
Best Lasagna Bolonese I have had in my life and the calamari was awesome and flavorful. Our waiter was a little brusque but we still gave him a good tip. Shrimp and spaghetti was a bit overpriced for the size, I would prefer a bit more pasta but my cousin said it was ok. We would go again.
Didnt know what to expect based on the name but we were pleasantly surprised. We saw the Saks Christmas show then walked over and were seated within 10 minutes. We ordered the Pasta Lovers, Spaghetti with Meatballs, Chicken Alfredo and then had the Lava Cake and Nutella Pizza for desert. All were great dishes.
Awful. The second we walked in they asked if we can afford to eat here. Waiters were rude and service was awful. No one came to check on us once. We were given a choice between sparking water and were not told we had to pay an additional $18. We ordered apps n entrees at the same time and we specifically said make sure the apps come first so all the food isnt shoved into out face. The food wasnt that great. Pasta was mid and a bit hard/crunchy. Save your money and eat somewhere else
All the food we got was excellent and most of us could not finish what we got, there was a nice cozey atomsphere in the place, but why i gave it a 3 star is the service my god bad bad bad im sorry to say, may be it was just us but we had to send food back because it was wrong, we asked for tea and got leamon tea and had to keep askig to be served, the food was good but would i go back hmmm ?
Delicious food but we had best waiter in town... Our waiter, Tajek, was the most considerate waiter Ive known; during the outage last week, he helped us relax in the midst of something crazy for a non-local to witness. Recommendations were spot on and the whole family benefited... desserts were fantastic!
Took my little sister here since she has been wanting pasta for awhile. I got the fettuccine alfredo and she got spaghetti carbonara. They were not good, we should of tried the pizza instead. We took 2-3 bites and we wanted to throw up. I am not sure how someone can ruin a dish like that but they did. I will pay for good food but not for this. Save your money! One good thing is the fried mozzarella was good but it is 2 for $17.
Writing this review because you should eat anywhere but here in NYC. Try La Pecora Bianca two blocks away instead. My boyfriend and I had come to Pasta Lovers for dinner. After being seated we were asked if we would like regular or sparkling water, we requested regular. The waiter circle backed moments later and said you said sparkling right? We said no, regular water please. We then ordered our drinks and dinner. I ordered penne ala vodka and asked if a breaded chicken cutlet could be added to my dish, the waiter responded “probably not.” My boyfriend ordered baked ziti with eggplant. He came back after with confusion on if my boyfriend wanted eggplant or chicken and another waitress had to intervene to understand the order. He was dismissive and rude. After our food came, no one came around to check on our meal, refill our water, or our drinks. We then received our bill and noticed we were charged 12 dollars for water. If you only offer your customers regular or sparkling, you should make clear you charge 12 dollars for regular water. We paid our bill and left a 10% tip after the rude and poor service. As we gathered our things to leave, the waiter came up to us and said why did you only tip me this much on your bill? I was speechless. My boyfriend let him know the service was awful and if he would rather no tip we would be happy to take back what we left. We’ve never tipped less than 20% anywhere we go. Even if service is mediocre. But to be blatantly rude to your customers is unacceptable. Had service been fantastic and someone stiffed a tip, you shouldn’t approach customers demanding more money. Very unprofessional and disturbing.
I went here on a student tour from my school in another state and they have amazing service and food. The pasta was delicious, although there was a lot of extra oil on the bottom of my plate. Im not a picky eater, so I was pretty content with my food. They offered extra cheese on your meals as well. When I went, the restaurant was dim but provides a wonderful place to eat, talk, and laugh with friends and family.
Horrible. The only saving grace is their service which was just okay. I got the carbonara...it was not a carbonara at all more like a sad overly creamy flavourless Alfredo with some bacon bits. I couldnt finish it and I actually threw up about 4 hours after consuming. My Aunt got the risotto/sea bass special, the risotto was like a spinach porridge/slop and the fish had a strange/bland fried crust. There was no flavour whatsoever, she was also nauseous later that evening. I have no idea what was going on in that kitchen or how they thought this food would be acceptable to serve but I wouldnt wish this experience on anyone. My stomach was churning all night and into the next evening. Do yourself a favour and pass on this place. My only regret is not taking photos to demonstrate how bad it all was.
First of all the restaurant has a very nice atmosphere. However our experience was poor. I first asked our sever Gino if we could have 2 checks for our table. He rudely said no because it was too busy tonight. Seriously is it that difficult? He took our drink order got them and then took our order. Someone else dropped of our meals. 3 lasagnas 1 baked ziti. He never came back to see if we got or liked our meals. Our drinks were filled after a very long wait. The food was just ok. Perhaps I was harboring from the way Gino was treating us. Seriously it was like we were invisible. Other tables were get there drinks refilled and getting fresh parmesan on the entrees. He got a $5 tip on a $132 check, more then he deserved. Spoke to the manager on the way out. He apologized and said we should have called him to our table. Well pass on this restaurant next time in NYC!
Such an amazing place. The staff is wonderful and so kind. The first visit we ordered the homemade cheesecake and it was phenomenal. Since then weve been two other times. The prices are amazing for the quality of food and service they deliver. I would definitely recommend Pasta Lovers to anyone and come back again and again. They have sidewalk dining available.
Honestly for a NYC Italian restaurant this one just doesnt hit the mark. I understand this is Times Square and not some place like Bay Ridge, Brooklyn (Where I live) with some old Italian roots but this could have been much better. I dined in last Friday with two friens from out of town. I ordered the shell lovers pasta, they had the spaghetti and meatballs and the chicken Alfredo. The pasta was too salty the first two or three bits were fine but after that the salt and low quality ingredients just overwhelmed the dish. The Sauce was salty and too thick, the broccoli seemed to be microwaved or just old, the chicken and prosciutto had an overpowering saltiness as well. Honestly the best thing was the bread they brought out for the table, no complaints there. Now the reason I really felt compelled to write this review was not the subpar good but the staff. Its one thing to get food you dont love but if the staff is helpful and attentive then you can atleast give the restaurant credit. We had a dark haired girl as our server, she was pleasant but seemed to lack finesse and confidence. She just seemed as though she needed more training. She seemed a bit distant and meek when dealing with customers. Then we we waited on by a separate waiter in a white shirt and piano key tie. An older gentleman with a balding spot on his head. This waiter was just not friendly, he hardly spoke when serving us. Hed pour water or place something on the table and when we said thank you he stayed silent, didnt even seemed phased by his customers. When our pasta came he brought over a plate of parmesan cheese and my fiend asked if he could put a bit more to which he put a heaping scoop and just threw it on splashing a whopping amount on my friends plate. He just dont seem to care to be there and it was showing in his service. He definitely needs to be retrained and taught about proper ediquette and customer service. Also the bathroom needs to be updated. The toilet had a cheap old browning seat, the entire bathroom gave off this 80s vibe but not in a good way. Just old and dilapidated, faulty gold sink faucet, the soap dispenser was hanging off the wall to one side with a small bread plate under it to catch falling soap, it kinda grossed me out actually. The dilapidated appearence of the bathroom just made me feel like this establishment wasnt very clean and after eating there made me question the state of care and cleanliness in the whole restaurant especially with this pandemic going around. Finally after eating there I actually got a stomach ache and diahreea later in the night and thats not like me ever. I had felt fine the whole day then after eating here I felt sick and at one point ever felt the urge to throw up. Something just was not right about the food here. Buyer beware especially if you have a queasy stomach.Overall a pretty bad experience, my friends didnt even finish most of their food and declined to take it being that they just knew they had no interest in eating any more. I will nolot be returning to Pasta Lovers. I hope management sees this review and takes action to make this restaurant a more pleasant experience for customers. Best of luck Pasta Lovers.
We found a hair in my friends plate. They made us all pay even though we felt nausea after we saw the hair. I also got home and felt extreme nausea for hours. They only took out the plate with the hair, even though no one touched their plates. They offered us 2 free small cakes for 10 people only.... we ended up paying 310 dollars for untouched food. Horrible restaurant. Money thrown in the air.
Great food and service! We went in as a last minute decision to grab a bite to eat. We were seated quickly (even after a seat change request) and served quickly. It was really busy when we went but everyone was very attentive and the food and drinks came quickly and were delicious. It was my birthday weekend and my boyfriend casually mentioned it when the owner asked what brought us in, and she had cake with a candle brought over. So thoughtful and sweet.
This place is a tourist trap. Their pastas are cold, overpriced and feels like straight up from the freezer. Staff is very very rude. They make you feel like a criminal because you ordered only three plates of pastas and 4 drinks instead of “seven courses and four bottles of wine”. Yes, the restaurant business is tough, and if the servers don’t turn those tables the boss will not be happy. But that is ultimately not the diner’s problem. However, just because I am eating light today, or not ordering the requisite amount of small plates that is deemed “appropriate for a party of this size,” shouldn’t mean that I should be treated like a problem. Treat me equally well when I spend $10 and when I spend $500, and things will probably work out for everyone in the long run. At this restaurant, some servers get together in one corner only to gossip about customers which is very apparent. Never going there again. Run away from this place. Seriously! Good service can save a bad meal, but there is no level of food that can save bad service. There are better Italian restaurants near Times Square who serve decent food and treat their customers with respect.
I didnt expect your grandmas all day sauce and hand rolled noodles from a shop this close to Time Square. For the price, the atmosphere and the $9 L of water, I did expect a little more than Marie Callenders and boiled chicken. This food is for the people that think salt and pepper are the only seasonings needed in a spice rack.
My daughter and I stopped by for dinner after a show on a whim. (We love Italian food!)Soooo glad we did!! This place is amazing. The food was delicious, high quality and second to none. The staff was attentive and very friendly. The atmosphere is charming, spotless and beautifully decorated. We met the owners on our way out who couldnt have been more grateful for our unsolicited compliments. Thankfully, we live less than an hour away so we are already planning our next visit. You must try this gem!
We visited due to seeing a review on tiktok and how cheesy the food was, but we went for lunch and I was looking for the abundance of cheese :-( mozzarella sticks were really good, chicken parm was ok, the ziti needs more cheese. After you eat the top layer theres no more cheese. My daughter loved the calamari
The food. a 10/10. but the water. the water is out of this world!!!! i left that place with my thirst quenched. it is immaculate. when the water (the tap water that is) ran down my esophagus, i heard angel singing. and the mozzarella, oh the mozzarella… you have to try it
“Besides big portions of pasta in a variety of sauces”They claim to have big portions so my girlfriend & I ordered one entree to share & a side as well. However, it was hardly enough for one person. We will not be ordering again due to being misled about how much food we were paying for.
I read some mixed reviews from this place before we went there. Family made the choice so we went with it. I have to say it did not disappoint. The food was delicious Id recommend stuffed mushrooms as a starter. What stood out to me was the house special. They cook it table side and its a unique experience, basically its a diner and a show. Besides being busy this place was enjoyable. I say give this place a chance and form your own opinion. After all a lot of the reviews are opinion based.
On our last day of our vacation before heading back to Colorado, we had such a wonderful dinning experience, amazing food and the best service ever! Thank you Carlos and Ronnie for making our experience in New York a memorable one! Food was exceptional and so was your service! Highly recommend Pasta Lover!!!!
Drove over 2.5 hours from Delaware to be disappointed. I sat down at 7:30p. My boyfriend and I both ordered an appetizer and an entree each. My boyfriends appetizer came out, about 15min later, his pizza came out. Where is my food? Ill wait. Its now 9pm, I ended up asking the hostess, yes the hostess, the person who seats you, to find my food, since neither the manager nor my waitor could be found. The only person iv seen for the last hour was a young lady who walked around with a water pitcher, iv had about ten glasses of water by now. They finally bring my food out, at this point Im not hungry, I ask for a box, and the waitors response was did you order that? He then explained that the table behind me ordered the same thing and they havent gotten their food; long story short the waitor refused to give me a box until he determined that I wasnt trying to steal. This place looked very appealing on instagram, but I would not suggest it to anyone.
When we walked into the restaurant, we were told by the hostess that we would have a 2-minute wait and walked away. Maybe about 5 minutes later, another man went up to us, asked us our party size (2), and then told us we would have a 5-minute wait! Already we had a sour taste in our mouth about the service. We ordered our appetizers and entrees. One of the entrees was the pasta that they prepare inside the giant cheese wheel. It was cool but the server ended up splashing melted cheese all over my pants. It wasnt that big of a deal but what I found upsetting was the servers immediate response was Its just cheese. That was unprofessional and unpleasant. He also ended up putting way too much Hennessy so the pasta tasted more like brandy than anything else. Our waiter also ended up completely forgetting about our appetizer order, and when we asked another server who walked by where our appetizer was, he angrily responded So do you want to put in an order or cancel it?!... which we wanted neither... we wanted to find out where our order was. When our waiter then came by, he asked us what the commotion was, and we asked about our appetizer, which he then realized he forgot about. The food itself wasnt bad, really. But most especially based on the level of service we experienced as a whole, I wouldnt recommend this restaurant.
Our pizza was delicious. We did have to wait to be seated, but it was only about 30-40 minutes and we had time to kill anyway. Our service was a bit slow; however, they were pretty busy. Im not sure if that was why or if our server is always just a little slower at serving customers. My husband and I both ordered a coke and we didnt get it until the end of our meal after we were completely finished with our pizza because they ran out of glasses. We thought our server forgot about our sodas, but she did finally come back, probably 15 minutes after we ordered, and told us that they were out of glasses. We had already gotten our pizza by the time she told us. Other than that, it was a really pretty place with a nice bar. We didnt try anything other than pizza, but other peoples pasta dishes looked very tasty.
I loveeeee this place. Honestly all the other places we ate at in NYC were not what I was expecting, given our trip was a little unorganized and we weren’t prepared to wait for things as long as we had to. That being said our waitress was amazing (wish I would have gotten her name) but she was working the bar and lounge area. Anyways she was great and fast and picked the best food options for me. I’m in love with this place and sad I have to go to NYC to get it.
The food is excellent. Very convenient location. It is a slower-paced meal so be sure to tell them if you have a time crunch! Another table did that while we were there and they accommodated them just fine. Staff were friendly but the service wasn’t great. We had to ask for water refills every time we needed them, ask for the dessert menu, ask for the check. Wait staff never came and just checked to see if we needed anything; we had to ask for everything. An otherwise great meal that was only slightly dampened by the lack of responsive wait staff.
Nice comfortable restaurant with good food and excellent service. We chose this restaurant simply because it was close to our hotel and we saw it from the tour bus driving in our first night in New York. It turned out to be a good choice. When first walking in it was extremely noisy but we were in the bar area and once we walked up to the dining area it was much better. We were seated not far from the top of the stairs so it was still a little noisy but not uncomfortably so. Our waiter was excellent and helpful with both drink (beer/wine) selections and with the menu. There were four of us and we had a variety of the pasta dishes and they were all quite good. Three had salads and I had the Pasta Fagioli soup which was excellent.
All the waiters were extremely rude to me and the rest of my family, a guy set us at a table and literally came to check on uns every 30 minutes, it literally took so long to get the bill and the food, I’ll never come back and will never recommend this restaurant to anyone I know, I do not go to places to me mistreated and not get paid attention too, a little detail is that the restaurant was very empty, only 3 tables were full, including mine, kept starring at our table and the food was not good. I’m extremely unsatisfied.
Not ashamed to say i was humbled by how unprepared I was for such a valuable experience at this location. Ordered the classic dish Rigatoni Bolognese and my legs were shaking. Dennis provided the finest service I have ever had the pleasure to receive. I will never forget my time here.
This place is a tourist trap that sells overpriced frozen pasta to people not smart enough to go anywhere else. I went here because my girlfriend saw their Instagram and said it looked good. She was wrong. The service was rude. “Here is a menu.” “What do you want to order?” That’s all she said to us all night. Gross food. One dish came out cold. Terrible atmosphere. I would have rather gone to the Olive Garden a few blocks away. This was somehow worse than that.
Would you really be better off going to Olive Garden? Well... Depends on what you order. The Service- Really great! Everyone was kind, professional, and rushing to meet our needs. The Drinks- My friend and I both got martinis. Probably the worst tasting martini Ive had, but it was so potent that Ill forgive them the taste. The Food- Fried Mozzarella: Okay, some of the best fried mozzarella Ive ever had. However, for $13 I would really have liked more than TWO pieces. We were a bit shocked.- Shells Pasta Lovers: While I enjoyed the dish, I stayed away from the pieces of chicken. They lacked flavor and were a little rubbery. The sauce, while tasty, was very watery. My favorite part was broccoli.- Breaded Chicken Parmigiana: The spaghetti was the star of the show, for sure! While the chicken was fine, my friend and husband could not get enough of the spaghetti.Overall- I dont believe I will be visiting again, but dont really regret my decision to eat at Pasta Lovers. If you go, get something with the red sauce, not the cream. Get the mozzarella if you can bear spending so much for two pieces, and dont expect the Instagram moments youve seen.
This place is literally the cream of the crop for italian food. Forget Carmines, in my opinion. This is where you need to go. Covid friendly right now as well too. Food is a bit on the pricey side but not too pricey. I highly recommend it if you love authentic italian food.
We stopped by with 2 kids and my mom for lunch. We wanted to sit downstairs, because we had a stroller and it was heavy. But the waiter offered to go upstairs and helped with the stroller. We made an order. Alfredo was good, but the second meal with broccoli wasnt worth the money. I told the waiter that the second meal wasnt good. After that he tried to avoid me. When we were leaving I wanted to ask for help to get the stroller downstairs, but he turned away from me demonstratively. It was very rude.
One of my favorite places near time square, great menu, excellent wine selection and world class service. I took my family for.my daughters birthday, she loved it as well. We will certainly be back...oh I forgot to mention the flavor....their sauces are very flavorful and the pasta is paired with correct sauces.
If you want to get metal in your food then you found your place. They took and offered to get me another plate claiming it came from a decoration (nothing from the metal I had in my food resembled the decorations) and by the time I got my food my friends were halfway through theirs. My glass of beer was empty for 30-45 minutes and wasn’t offered a refilled. When the check came I asked about the inconvenience and he had to talk to manager and I was only offered to get a free dessert mind you also that the manager never came and talked to me and the server never checked on us at all. I talked to the manager to let him know how awful the service was and about my experience and his response was I was told they replaced the pizza and he didn’t know the rest that I told him and I was like maybe you should of come talk to me. Just such an awful experience.
Just got home from dinner here tonight. It was super busy and the staff was able to handle it and seat us as quickly as possible. Our waitress Marina was fantastic! We had the fried calamari appetizer and the mozzarella triangles. Both were incredible! For entrees we got the Hennessy cheese wheel pasta which is available in December upon request, carbonara, and a bacon cheeseburger. I was pleasantly surprised with the bacon burger. It was seriously DELICIOUS! the carbonara was also fantastic and flavorful. For dessert we had the chocolate molten cake with vanilla ice cream, it was so good!! My friends and I also LOVED the holiday decor. It was simple and BEAUTIFUL! I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone in the Times Square area looking for good food and good prices.
Very good Italian fare in the heart of Times Square. The fried calamari was crispy and delicious. Our pasta was flavorful and plentiful portions. Overall it was a very nice dinner. The waitstaff is EXCELLENT. Our water glasses were never empty and they answered every question about the menu with a smile. They treat you like family at Pasta Lovers. Reasonable prices too!
We were walking by when we spotted this restaurant. We were a group of three and ordered 2 burgers and a large meat lovers. Waiter advised it was a lot of food .... Yep he was right. Had a med rare and medium burgers ... both were cooked perfectly and were accompanied with fries and a large salad our Pizza was great and the prices were more than reasonable. I will return here next time.
Waiter was extremely welcoming to our group of 7 at first. But once he realized we were splitting meals, ordered only water to drink and werent getting any appetizers, he became very rude/short towards us. He tried to force a tip that no one wanted to pay.Food was okay, but not worth the price. The buns they gave us at the table were very hard. Would not go back. Would not recommend.
Pasta itself seemed almost homemade and the sauce (frutti do Mare) was excellent. While they advertise large portions, I would argue that perhaps for the City this was a large portion, outside the City this would be considered a standard portion. Appetizer (mussels marinara) was a large portion.
Enjoyed Very Much,Excellent Service, Great location.Nice Decor, without the unneeded Buji-ness.Love our Service Provider, very down to earth.Great Food, with a good crowd of conscious people,I have sensitive Hearing, however there were no issues.Filled with Couples, Families,Friends. good vibes. There were, No Inadequate and Irrelevant Attention Deprived Idiots.I certainly would recommend for a Family and Nice date out.Enjoy !Love to Our Service Provider and the Team who sang the birthday song.
Yummy food - most dishes on the menu are tasty and pleasant, the sea bass with spinach risotto is to die for! The place is so much larger inside than one would think walking in. Good food, very reasonable prices (especially given its location - between Rockefeller Center and Time Square), and generous portion of drinks, this is a jewel in the middle of the midtown restaurants scene.
A lovely upscale Italian restaurant with full bar, pasta and pizza options. The deep fried ravioli is a fabulous appetizer and their pasta entrees are genuinely excellent. If youre in the area looking for a great meal, especially at a late hour, Pasta Lovers is a fantastic option at more than reasonable price.
Now, I did not have to pay directly, since I was traveling with a group, so I may be biased. I had to come in earlier than the group and was let in without a hitch. The rolls came warm, and they were, well, rolls. Nothing too special. Service is excellent and the waiter treated us like family. The margarita pizza is delicious, as was the penne con broccoli.
Went here for dinner in July. I was visiting NYC and decided to go for dinner. I was very happy with the food, it was great. The service was borderline hostile. After the waiter saw that we left a 15% tip, he muttered people are so cheap these days from behind the counter. when we went to leave, and I said thank you to him, he didnt acknowledge me.Was disappointed that the waiters friendliness was directly related to how much we were going to spend.
New York has the best pizza, and Id have to say this is probably our favorite pizza place. I dont even think it is known for their pizza but we LOVE it. It is also always very quiet and we have never had to wait. It is in a great location, has a romantic atmosphere, and they have very kind servers. We often take people here when they come to town, and we have never had any disagree that is one of the best. We highly recommend it! You wont be disappointed!
Ok, lets address whats good. We were seated right away, even though we were 30 minutes early for our reservation. Not bad for late Saturday afternoon. The food was good, a little above average for an Italian restaurant in The City. The portions were decent sized and reasonably priced. Now, whats not good. We waited almost 10 minutes before our server came to the table, and while he was very friendly, he basically dropped the menus and left. Another 10 minutes before he came to get our drink order. We all received a glass of water, but had to wait for our drinks. They forgot one of our drinks (diet soda), which we didnt receive for at least 15 minutes. They brought us bread which tasted like it had been sitting out all day. Very dry and crunchy, not moist inside like good Italian bread should be. I could go on, but basically, the service was poor and EXTREMELY SLOW! We got to the restaurant at 5:30 PM (Saturday, 5/6/2017) and had to leave before having coffee and dessert because we had an 8:00 PM show to get to. 2.5 hours just to have apps and entrees, especially at an average place like this, is way too long. It seemed like we were constantly flagging down our server or bus boy to ask for something they had forgotten, i.e., silverware, appetizer plates, drinks, etc. Its a shame about the service because I would come back because of the food, but the service is so poor, it will most likely keep us away.
Fantastic place. Was just walking by and decided to cancel reservations at Tony di Napoli. So glad I did. I dont normally just order a baked ziti dish, but this one was awesome. Not shy with the cheese like other places. The eggplant rollatini was also great. Its on the starters menu so order it.The staff was also friendly and helpful. That makes for a more pleasant meal.
I generally try avoiding restaurants anywhere near Times Square but Im glad I ventured to Pasta Lovers. The portion sizes were large and priced very well. Not to mention the food was delicious! Dessert was also very good too. I would definitely recommend this spot if youre feeling pasta/Italian food.
Great food, great service, great atmosphere! This restaurant surpassed my expectations of an Italian restaurant. One of the best Italian restaurants in the city. I ordered the Garden Pasta, calamari, Camilo, and tiramisu.. all amazing.. you definitely need to order the cannoli after your entree! What a great finish to the meal
I just ordered pasta bolognese and ricotta cheesecake. It came fast and OMG. I am a pasta lover, that’s all i eat. And i can say that was really good pasta but what blew my mind was the cheescake. OMG BEST CHEESECAKE i’ve ever had!!!! Moist, texture taste. I don’t know where to start. Excellent!
This place is disgusting, staff AND managers rude and the cleanliness is non existent! If the kitchen looks and is kept up like the bathroom, you’ll get definitely get food poisoning. The managers had the nerve to raise their voice and act like bully’s and that is unacceptable in this time and day.If I had to say anything to warn you from this place is think twice, run, run far far away from this rat infestation dump of a restaurant.
My first impression was pretty good. They said welcome and they gave us a table and a menu. But then everything changed...We we’re ready to order and I ordered a spaghetti and meatballs. The waiter didn’t even look at me when he took the order. Then after about ten minuets the food came. The spaghetti was terrible, the tomato sauce were cold and the the meatballs weren’t even tasty. It felt like a meal that anyone, and with that I mean literally anyone could make with some expired spaghetti, a can of cheap tomato sauce and som frozen meatballs. I definitely don’t recommend this to anyone to go there, so don’t. Go to McDonald’s instead!
My husband and i have been going to Pasta Lovers for 22 years. The food is absolutely amazingly delicious. The service is top notch. My son loves and devours the person pizza! My daughter loves the pasta! It has been our family tradition to go see a show, the tree and pasta lovers every December!!!
What a fantastic meal!! Everything was absolutely amazing starting from the baked clams appetizerr to the homemade pineapple butter cake topped with home made ice cream for dessert! The star of the show was the house special pasta prepared tabkeside in a parmiggiana reggiana cheese wheel ! Just spectacular. Service was top notch as well. Highly recommend this hidden gem.
I was finally able to try Fatto a Mano, The Pasta Shop and it was definitely worth the wait! We were starving so we decided to eat elsewhere and just try this place out a different time. I highly recommend you order early so that it will be ready around the time that you want to eat.
Awful service. Awful food. Bad treatment by the management. We came in as a group, and the management was rude and unaccommodating for one of special needs. The manager was incensed and rude when we wanted to sit an extra person at a table of 4, but when the table opened up next to us, he gave it to somebody else, and continued to be nasty to us. We were quite taken aback by his behaviour. He should not be running a restaurant. The pizza and the calzones were burnt. They were clearly unable to accommodate the number of people they had in the restaurant at the time. I realize its a stressful job to run a restaurant in the heart of Times Square, but if you cant take the heat, get out of the kitchen. If you are a large group looking to come here, I would reconsider.
We ate 2 small pizzas, a pasta, and a bottle of water as 3 people. When the bill came I didnt really focus what the waiter included so I didnt ask much. I didnt give the tip he wanted either because he wanted too much and he insisted uncomfortably. So Ieft a reasonable tip and left the restaurant. After, I flew back home and I saw that the waiter included a bottle of wine for $20+. Such a careful and helpful waiter! Getting extra money from me and requesting an insane tip with disrespect! Even though the pizzas were good, the disrespectful manner I saw was unacceptable.
Pricey but good food, we had a good experience, tasty mussels, salad and puzza and a few glasses of wine & beer. Until it was time for the tip. I tipped 10 bucks which was under the standard 15% and the waiter came back and asked why I didnt tip more!! I asked him if tipping was mandatory, he said no but this was New York city. We caved in and gave $5 more on our $100 dollar bill.
Seemed like a nice place to get well prepared pasta. Staff was friendly enough and environment was decent. My daughter ordered a burger. I Ordered the rigatoni with pesto, topped with mozzarella, figuring that a pasta place would make it well. The burger was great and came with a nice side salad and fresh fries. No complaints there. My pasta was cooked perfectly al dente and was fresh and a fairly large portion. However the pesto was like soup. As much as I stirred it, the greenish flavored water just washed off every piece. I heard that they make a good vodka sauce, maybe you should try it. But the pesto was disappointing.
Whatever you do, never order the buffalo chicken pizza. I thought since I was working in New York today, Id go out and try something local, they always say NY has some of the best pizza. Lord was I wrong. Buffalo sauce tasted like 5000% sodium as I could feel my blood pressure calling the ER. I thought Id try and wipe it off with some napkins, maybe that would help. Yeah no chance, the salty after taste was too ridiculous. Even the cheese tasted plain and the chicken was meh at best. For the price they charge and the location their located, I was feeling confident it must be decent, nope. Not a chance in hell Id ever walk near this place again. One good point though, the crust was decent.....
Visiting NYC for the week and was looking for a nice Italian restaurant to grab a quick bite to eat, this place was the best. Came in and almost instantly given a table. The people working here were very friendly and helpful. Ordered fettuccine alfredo and it was perfect. Highly recommend stopping in here if youre looking for a nice Italian restaurant.
This was my second time to this restaurant. I stopped in for some dinner on New Years eve while the rest of my family did the Times Square thing. Dining alone at the bar on one of their brick oven pizzas was just great. When my husband and I were in the city for a show last week, we stopped in for dinner, hoping it was as good as I remember. It was. He had lasagna and I had veggie pasta. Very nicely done, as well as nice bread and a great caesar salad that we split. Service was very attentive and the atmosphere was lovely. We will certainly stop there again when we are in the city.
It was pouring rain outside and we were on Ellis island craving Italian good. We thought our best bet would be to get uptown to our hotel in Times Square and search there. We found this quaint, cozy restaurant with good wine and pasta playing Frank Sinatra. Just what we wanted. The price point was good and the atmosphere clean and welcoming!!!10/10
We went to eat with my friends in this Italian restaurant and ordered pasta. I took a carbonara but carbonara had nothing. Just a lot of cream. I dont understand why the dish was in those conditions in a cream lake. This is not a carbonara. It is not italian. My friend had a Bolognese pasta and felt an aftertaste of cream (obviously) and ham or salami combined with meat (something like that). The pizza dough wasnt bad but the tomato and mozzarella werent that great. He felt that they were non-Italian ingredients. The only good thing is the portions which are slightly large and the prices are not excessive. As an Italian, its not a place that made me feel at home. I definitely dont recommend anyone who has to eat Italian to come to this place. I was disappointed.
We were sat and had to wait 5 minutes for a menu, then it took another 5 minutes before anyone even brought over some water. Ok, I tried to be patient but then the bread came and it was gross! Hard as a rock. We shared the ceasar salad and that wasnt that bad but when they finally brought over the chicken parm we were like 😳 but even still we gave it a shot.... ugh it was the worse. We couldnt eat any of it. We had it taken off the bill and left.
This place is set up with tables to accommodate mostly large groups. Not knowing this, went in with party of 2. Waited an hour plus, watched parties of 3,4,6,7,8, 9 go in front of me with no wait. When I finally asked the manager if I could have a complimentary drink for having to experience this, he went off and said why should he seat my party of 2 when he had a four header and h---l no he wouldnt give me a coke or glass of wine. This was New York City, he went on to say and he didnt have to do anything. Wow. Food was awful, but huge portions. After meal server came out with slice of cake compliments of manager who had insulted me, which was ridiculous considering I wanted a drink not a cake, which I sent back and told them to have him eat it. OK I guess if you have a large group and would eat frozen food quality entrees. Too bad, this is a great location with limited competition.
Hands down the BEST Spaghetti Bolognese Ive ever had in my life. I have even introduced friends from all over the world to this dish and they say it is better than what theyve had even in Italy. The owner/manager is a handsome fellow who wears the most gorgeous Spectator shoes and he is very friendly and accommodating. The atmosphere is lovely--brick walls with inserts for wine bottles or candles. It really is a quiet, quaint place to escape and enjoy a great meal.

2022-01-23Me and my family stopped here while on vacation. The location is great and the waitress was very respectful and even suggested which pizza to try we ended up loving the taste that we decided to go back again. Unfortunately, the second time the pizza was burned as you can see from the pictures the one slice is from the first time versus the second pizza. Overall I did like it and I know the pizza is made in a brick oven I would just suggest to the chef to keep an eye on next time. Since it is not cheap!!! To dine in.

2022-06-29I went here with my sister to celebrate her birthday and once the food arrived I was shocked beyond expectation. The food here is absolutely amazing. I personally recommend the Chicken Alfredo, but all in all, one of the best places Ive ever been to.

2022-01-05The overall ambience of this place is nice. Seems romanticish. We were asked what we wanted to drink. We opted for water. He asked if we wanted bottled or tap. We said bottled. Didnt expect to get a 12 dollar bottle of water. He kept asking if we wanted something else to drink. I finally asked what else they had since they had drink menus on the table. The waiter seemed annoyed and pointed to the drink menu. I asked anything besides that he said of course we have mixed drinks too.(not on the menu) The next time he came back and asked again about drinks I asked if they had coke product. He said sure. We got our food and it was hot and pretty decent. Husband said his chicken was way overdone. Nothing to write home about unfortunately. After we were done with food we were pushed on getting dessert.. didnt expect for our waiter to be so pushy.Probably wouldnt come here again but if youre looking for a romantic setting thats more expensive than olive garden-look no further.

2022-03-08This food was delicious! SERIOUSLY!!! I took it togo since I was working in Times Sqaure. People hear me!: I ate this hours later & it was tasty. Full of flavor! Reheats well in the microwave. Scrumptious and yummy! I had the Lobster Ravioli and the Eggplant appetizer. I will definitely be catching a flight and passing by here soon. The bar staff was friendly and the ambiance was pleasant. I want the full experience next time. Pasta Lovers.. Ill be back.

2021-08-08This was a nice pasta shop! Looks from the street is small, but it opens up to a nice dining room. The pizza was actually very delicious. Many options for water. This would be awarded a 5 star review, but the evening we were dining there was a very loud annoying static-buzz coming from the restaurant’s main speaker system. Walked here from Rockefeller Center

2022-01-31The appetizer and bread were very delicious, but not a huge fan of the main course. The pasta’s sauce was hard to enjoy.

2021-11-16The food was excellent and overall they good service. However, they are a bit pricey as there are other Italian restaurants in the area with equally good food. Also, while reservations are not required anyone without a reservation was offered outdoor seating immediately but indoor seating was a substantial wait.

2022-04-30Loved the atmosphere of the Pasta Lovers restaurant. Its cozy with beautiful choice of background music. I ordered Spaghetti with meatballs and I loved it. Every bite was very delicious. Also when I ordered this dish, they were very considerate to ask if I wanted meatballs with pork or no pork. So if any people who doesnt like pork in meatballs, you can eat here! One thing I would love the restaurant to change is their menu on Google Map because I was very new to this restaurant and many of the dishes price were different from what it was shown and described on the menu here.Nevertheless, I thoroughly enjoyed my time in there and the restaurant was spacious too with a bar on the ground level.
