Ive been going to this magnificent establishment for 35 years. It has LITERALLY kept me strong and healthy with all the great food they sell. Im proud to say Im friends with the family that owns this store, finer & classier people youll never find. If youre lucky, youll find me there dressed in all my Pastosa garb, the hat, the mask, the t-shirt and the fleece. Im a walking Pastosa billboard and proud to advertise the greatest Italian delicacy store of all time.....bar NONE. Hope to see you there one day , BIG STEVE !!
BE AWARE BEFOREHAND, that they charge a 3% fee for using a credit card to pay for your purchases. I was unaware of this bc it was NOT posted on their website. This was my first time going to that store. If it had been, I would NOT have brought my credit card, but would have brought my debit card with me. I chose not to bring my pocketbook bc I had a small wagon and had to take two buses to get home so there was no reason for me to carry my pocketbook also.I do not mind that they charged this fee, but I DO MIND that it was NOT posted on their website and I did not find out until I waited in line and it was my turn to pay for my groceries (over $150).
Why would Pastosa Ravioli of Bensonhurst need a google review? So weird. But anyway, for those who dont know, just about everything in that sore is homemade. And not only do they make the best mozzarella and the best ravioli in the USA...they make the best everything!
The place was constantly monitoring the flow of people to ensure that everyone was practicing social distancing. Additionally, they provide amazing and friendly customer service! And they detail oriented. The food is amazing and pricing is fair. Definitely recommend shopping there for your raviolis and manicotti (thats my usual).
Theres a reason this place has been around for over 50 years. This small family owned store has all the Italian essentials you could ask for. The meats and cheeses are fantastic, especially the homemade mozzarella. The pasta and ravioli are the namesake for a reason, theyre delicious!
I love this place. Ive been shopping here for almost 30 years. Actually Ive been buying my Extra Virgin olive here for almost 30 years. I cannot find a better olive oil anywhere.Their meats and cooked food selection are always fresh. They also have an excellent Olive selection as well.
Its a good (and the only in the neighborhood) place to get Italian food ingredients, fresh mozzarella, prosciutto, etc. Wide range of pasta, house made ravioli. They have a butcher and ready meals too. Great place to get your fresh meal cutlets. Place has overall good quality food but its way overpriced.Customer service is poor, the cashiers look at you like you are thief while you pay a $100 bill. If someone opens another Italian store in the area and guarantees good quality, this place will go out of business fast.
Walked in here and the choices were endless. The fresh ravioli is to die for! I wish I bought more. I almost overlooked the antipasto salad in the deli section and wow Im so glad I bought some. I couldnt believe how delicious it was. This place is a MUST for any Italian ingredients you may need. Absolutely superb!
Ive been a fan of Pastosa from the 1970s. Quality selection of homemade pasta and ravioli. Wide selection of appetizers and imported foods. A must stop for any Sunday dinner preparation. Friendly, courteous and knowledgeable staff. We highly recommend this wonderful neighborhood shop.
Very friendly place! I just wanted to buy ground meat around the place where I did my laundry, so I didn’t walk to the supermarket which I familiar with. Its a busy supermarket, so I quickly scan the store. I didn’t see ground meat in the supermarket, so I left. I was standing on the street and searching if there is any place that I can get ground meat near by. An worker walked out and asked if I had gotten anything I want. I asked him about the ground meat. He led me back to the store and got ground meat to me. (The store is colorful, pretty and clean. I like the cheese wall.)
If I could live in a market, this would be it. They have a huge assortment of ravioli and tortellini for purchase! They also have outstanding gluten free gnocchi for people who cant have the flour based goodness.I went in there to buy a pound of ravioli and ended up leaving the store with 4 pounds of assorted ravioli, stuffed peppers with goat cheese, mini porcini mushroom dumplings, gluten free gnocchi, and 2 pounds of pizza dough...The staff is very friendly and it really is a local joint with a great name and reputation despite operating multiple locations throughout jersey and long Island. I will be adding this place to the list of Brooklyn staples.Warning: You cant possibly walk in here for ONE thing...
Fantastic Italian grocery products of the highest quality.SaucesRaviloi in multiple flavors. Frozen and fresh. Fresh pasta and sauces, cold and cooked dishes for home meals with no hassle. Friendly systematic customer service. Reasonably priced. An institution for so many more reasons. This location also makes the ravilois for their expanding franchise locations.
My sister and I went over to Pastosas specifically for the ravioli and sauce. This time we picked out the mushroom and the spinach and got a small container of vodka sauce. We had company over and everything was a hit! There were so many other things we wanted to try, rice balls, mac and cheese bites, and many other dishes that looked amazing. Were only a neighborhood away so we will be back for sure!
This is my favorite place in the world hahaa! If you love fresh pasta, then look no further! Ive eaten from here for over 20yrs! This is part of my childhood! You will catch me on all the holidays waiting to get my ravioli, manicotti and stuffed shells!!!! The staff is always helpful and its alwaus super clean! The best food ever, you wont be disappointed!
Its so easy to fall in love with Pastosa Ravioli. The Italian grocery is full of fresh food, boxes of frozen raviolis you will want to purchase in Costco proportions, sauces, and other Italian staples. While in line, pick up a bag of foccacia bread. Its the perfect appetizer. Store closes early but dont fret. The staff will guide you along the way so that you have everything you need just in time to be home for dinner.
One of my favorite Italian store in Brooklyn. There are known of their Raviolis that come frozen but only takes about 8 - 10 minutes of boiling water to cook into a delicious meal for the family. There are also dry and fresh pastas, riceballs, prepared food and other imported Italian goods. And if youre not an Italian grandmother, you can pick up some fresh and frozen sauces.
If you are remotely in the area, you MUST stop by to buy lard bread, cheese/parsley sausage and spinach ravioli in the largest quantities you can possibly carry. They really know how to make the best Italian goods and I would probably buy fresh items from here every day if I lived nearby.
What an amazing place this is. The product is traditional and absolutely superb. The staff is wonderful to deal with. Everyone is polite, efficient and take pride in what they do.There are very places that deliver this service along with a great product.Keep up the good work.

2019-12-23First time visiting this location and I was highly impressed. The fresh raviolis, graded cheese and marinara sauce was exactly what we were looking for at the last minute of our Christmas shopping. Highly looking forward to enjoy the authentic Italian food for our Christmas Eve family dinner. The customer service was also good and very friendly. They even sell cryo ice packs to keep the food and sauces cold for the ride home. Excellent store and would highly recommend!

2020-12-15Even though I no longer live in the city, it’s never a wasted trip when you end it with a visit to Pastosa. I went to the flagship and it never disappoints. The mutzadel is wet and creamy. It’s mouth watering. The ravs are 2nd to none. They are boxed fresh and ready to go. Take a look at some pics

2017-07-12Stopped by for some prepared foods. The store was spotless and the counter staff was very helpful. You should know that the aroma when you walk in is enough to make you hungry. I have happily purchased freshly prepared chicken cutlets, broccoli rabe, garlic bread, eggplant parm and cavatelli with sausage in a cream sauce. I also picked up imported Italian soda. Will return soon to get fresh made pasta and antipasti.
