Patsys Pizzeria in other cities:
🍕East Harlem’s @patsyspizzanyc is East Harlem’s pizza since 1933. All foods sold by slices depend heavily on volume, every time you buy a pizza slice you contribute to keeping your neighborhood fed, this is essential for our city and one of the reasons why New York always bounces back. 10/10
Although I live in Michigan, I had been wanting to visit this, the original, location of Patsys. I wished I hadnt waited so long. This is outstanding comfort food presented in casual elegance.I wanted to taste to taste the coal fired pizzas and we opted for the classic Margherita. it didnt disappoint. The crust was perfect and balanced with the subtleties which define this style. To compliment the pie, we shared the potato croquettes, which surprised us with a generous cheese filling, and the Melanzane Di Rollatine, made with eggplant, tomato, mozzarella, ricotta and Italian spicing that made me not want to stop eating this delight! The interior is perfectly understated and harkens back to an earlier time. Dont pass on this place!
I’ve been coming to Patsy’s for over 2 years now. At first I didn’t like it but my husband did 😢 lol but I’ve never been a pizza fan. Over the years I guess I fell in love with it, this pizza is absolutely perfect it’s so simple yet so outstanding, from the cheese to the crust! It’s so thin and not over saucey the cheese is perfect!!! The flavor is great. We always have Jason as our waiter and he is the best!! We also order chicken piccata and I don’t remember the name of the other chicken dish we got it was something with cherry peppers, they were both decent. My husband has been coming here since he was about 4 years old. So it’s a family favorite and we will always be coming here when in New York!
Only $13 for an amazimg plain pizza. Only $1 for a soda.to go with it. This is always rated as one of the Top Pizzerias in NYC. Super fresh ingredients are used and tge pizza did not dissapoint. The only aspect that could have been improved was the pizza having more Char. I assumed that being a Coal Fire Pizza that it would have been cooked a little more throughout. This under scored the crust as it did not have any crunch to it . I should have ordered the Pizza well done and not assumed. When youbare dealing with the Best Pizzerias in the country, every little detail counts. This place will be included on the Pizza Hunters App as a must stop. Parking can be a challenge here, so have a plan. Be prepared to wait in line as well, but it is well worth it.
Order the pie with extra cheese, when I got there to pickup the guy gave me a regular Pie. I told him its extra cheese he pulled one from the bottom that said extra cheese, which was cold, hard, burnt and it did not taste good at all. 🤔 That was a surprise and a disappointment to me first time having a pie there. I dont believe Ill be going back. 😡
Lets start with the taste...The taste of the Pizza its awesome! They really use just fresh ingredients! If youre looking for a different kind of taste and a fancy one in a Pizza, I strongly recommend it.The service was great. The staff was great, bilingual and lovely. The price is affordable for anyone who love pizza.
Patsy is one of a kind. You walk in and get an old time feel. There was a long time wait before we sat down and once again while waited for our food.We got two beers. They brought one wrong one but immediately fixed it.We got the meatball pizza which was delicious. The fried mozzarella was so greasy that it slipped right down your throat. It was definitely an expierence that I will take friends from out of town to enjoy.Highly recommend.
Have been here probably close to ten times. The pizza here is among the best I’ve had anywhere in NYC. This is also one of the original shops, opened in 1933.The prices are super reasonable. A cheese pizza is $11 at time of writing. The Caesar salads are tasty too. What I love about the pizza - fresh, traditional NYC pizza, delicious taste, and great texture.
Tried it because its supposed to be one of the best pizzas in NYC. Prices were great and pizza was good but not the best I have had. Its coal fired so great thin crust but the sauce or cheese needs something. Crust was great. Lots of great photos on the wall to look at and the same interior from probably 80 years ago. Take out line was very long but sit down was not very crowded. Been there, done that, on to the next one.
We always visit Patsys in Harlem when we go to New York. The pizza is fired in a coal oven, the crust is perfection, the sauce is sublime, the cheese and pepperoni are added with a careful hand. The restaurant seems to usually be slow with only a few tables being taken--but Patsys deserves to be full all of the time! It may be a little trek from the subway, but totally worth the walk! It truly is the best pizza in New York. Be advised--Patsys only accepts cash.
I love Patsys. Been eating at this specific location since I was able to eat. The people that answer the phone there are a little slow though. I asked for two plain pies last time, and the guy didnt know what I was talking about. I figured if you had any common sense, you would know plain pies were just cheese with no topping. Idk, maybe Im wrong
Its not a bad tasting slice for $2. The dough is too thin. I bought 5 slices and still hungry. Was I better off going a pizza parlor and spending $22 for an 18 with a thicker thin crust? Or was better off going to $1 Pizza Parlor?Bring the pizza back, I shouldve asked for pizza straight of the oven.Bring the pizza back a block away, it was warm. The pizza was decent tasting.
Very disappointed. Had the pasta with plum tomato sauce, it was $19 tasted like it was from the can, No basil garlic, etc . Overpriced very small portion. Server didnt even offer grated cheese. My wife had a grilled chicken salad 1/2 the ingredients were missing. Served didnt bring bread and when she did, got annoyed because we asked for butter. Basically Overpriced for portions and quality of food.
Great pizza at such a cheap price. I have been wanting to go here for like a year but havent gone yet because it was so far out of the way. But today I hopped on the chance because I was going somewhere in the same area. The pizza tasted great. They use a coal fired oven, which very few other places in NYC have because they arent legal anymore. The crust had a nice charr to it which made it crunch and split, similar to the way a cracker would. It was also very thin. The cheese and sauce had a great taste as well and didnt have a thick texture.Unlike every other pizza place, they dont have pies on display and then reheat the slice when you ask for one. All of the slices are all freshly made. The downside of this is that you might wait a little bit for your slice, but it is completely worth it.Also there is no where to sit inside, so you are either standing in the small space they have, or you are taking it outside. The price was a steal. Only $1.75 for a slice! I guess the reason for that might be because rents arent as high in East Harlem, which means they dont have to charge as much.Would definitely recommend going if you are in the area. Maybe even go to the area just for the reason of trying this pizza.
The pizza is great but if your ordering at the window the workers would look out for customers over anyone else.Whether you were there first or waiting for 30 minutes if a Mexican or Spanish speaking person comes they will give your order to them! This happens constantly because I live in the area. Just know I’m a Hispanic male and yet still get horrible treatment!!!!Their attitudes are the worst too. Just avoid ordering!!! Do pick up or delivery because like I first said the pizza is great… customer service is TRASH!!!
How great is it to visit one of the oldest pizzerias in the country and the coal oven works well. The pizza was super thin and the hot oven crisped up the dough and imparted a slight charcoal taste. And the slice did not flop at all. See my full review on my Noah Eats! Youtube Channel
Just cant best it, best pizza in the area. As a no frills location the say pizza they mean pizza. Just for laughs try and get a slice with a topping there reaction is pretty muchtake your prissy self back downtown but yes super thin very delicious cheese based pizza. So if your in town you have to pay a visit its $1.75 for a slice and $11 for a pie. $3 extra for any topping other then meatball or prosciutto.
I had an espresso and a margarita pizza. Taste wise, I liked the food. However, after finishing, I had to run around looking for cash for payment since Patsys doesnt accept card. And, although there were several ATMs close by, I didnt have a debit card on me, so it took me a while to figure something out. Th point I am making is- HAVE CASH ON YOU BEFORE YOU EAT HERE.
This is my favorite pizzeria in NYC. I always take the margarita pizza. Perfectly fermented pie, flavorful sauce and just the right amount of mozzarella cheese. ..... all in perfect balance. I have used their dough to develop a starter to bake my own pizza at home. Not a margarita a bit overloaded, but the pie was absolutly amazing.
This place is the real deal, cash only, standing room only, vending machine for drinks. Plain slices are churned out with frequency so there is never more than a 10 minute wait. The pizza is top notch, some of the best in Manhattan and absolutely worth the trip. I will most definitely be back. Should note this is for the takeout joint on the corner not the sitdown place adjacent.
This place only serves pizza between 3-4 PM for dine in customers and we were not rold until we were seated and given water. That was fine, but I came in hoping to try other menu items. I ordered the Patsy Alla Vodka pie, I thought this would be a different sauce from the original pizza that they serve next door but it seems like it wasnt. The pizza was very good but not worth to dine in for.
I just ordered Penne all vodka with chicken from this place through Uber eats. This is the first time I’ve seen penne allá vodka served with dry pasta and no sauce. There was literally no sauce in my pasta. Also the chicken was extremely dry. I wanted to try this place because of the “good” reviews I saw and pasta is my favorite. Very dissapointed in this restaurant. I took one look at my dry pasta and through it in the trash.
The takeout was good but I wouldnt make a special trip. Maybe the restaurant is better. The crust is crispy, the sauce, cheese, and pepperoni seem to be slightly lower quality than what youd find at some other old school classics like Grimaldis, Julianas, or Totonnos.
Patsy’s is a old school pizzeria / casual Italian restaurant. the ambiance is relaxed and from a time in NYC that is quickly disappearing. the sit-down area has plenty of tables—serviced by Patsy’s staff. whether you’re in East Harlem for work or play, this is a must stop for pizza lovers. if you have time order a pie and ask for some char on your crust.however if you can’t sit down for a pie and are in a rush, then the outside slice window is the way to go. slices are cut on the smaller side at the slice window, but slices only cost $2. the slices are very thin, sauced accordingly, and blanketed with a thin sprinkling of mozzarella. honestly, the crust feels like it should be a lot crisper as it is coal-oven pizza. however the pizza tastes good: salty sweet sauce, melty stretchy cheese, and a decent crust. again, the crust is too soft in my book but it isn’t doughy or mush…it is just not firm. for $2 pizza, it is tasty and does the job. also soda is only a $1. Patsy’s definitely delivers on value in East Harlem.the staff are friendly and fast. tip them.
Honestly the pizza is so awesome & amazing that I pay whatever price just to eat a real brick oven pizza .. This is the best pizza in NYC people from all over will come here just to try it.. If they still had the Italian icy across the street everyone would had loved it....
I have been going to Patsys for many years and it is sad to write this review however I was there Saturday night day night April 4th 2022 and could not believe the horrible service we received we sat there for over a 1/2 hour waiting for a waiter to come and then finally when he did acknowledge we were there he had an attitude and told us youre just gonna have to wait for another waiter to come by, needless to say we got up and walked out
The original old Italian pizza place. Been around for over 75 years since Harlem was an Italian neighborhood.Recently they have franchised those name out to places around the city. If you have been disappointed by other Patsys you need to come in and taste the original. There is nothing like the original Patsys in the city. This place is so good that it is recognized by the Federal Government!
As an out-of-towner on the hunt for authentic NY style pizza, I was more than pleased to find it at Patsys. I got the Tres Formaggio with added meatballs. The garlic in the sauce was fantastic, the dough was perfect, the cheese was delicious ... all good things with this pizza! Our waiter was also very friendly!
The pizza here is to die for! Worth the trip up. Nostalgic atmosphere without gentrified upgrades. Our pie came hot from the coal fired oven and was perfectly done - no half burned edges like some other pizzerias. Superb thin crust, foldable, delicious sauce. You can tell by the clientele of old school pizza lovers that this is a hidden treasure!
Great pizza and pasta. I miss being able to eat indoors. This is my familys spot for pizza for the past 10 years.Staff is great, good selection of drinks (wine etc too), but good luck with finding parking. If you love pizza you will love Patsys. Order a whole pie and you will come back for more. Before I go back to GA I will be getting some.Ciao
Looked forward to going. Decided to eat in over take out. Walked in to no one at the door walked to table-asked to sit. Not too busy. Ordered the one size pizza with 2toppings. Took half hour to get pie. Which was good and $20+tip later we are out the door. Non memorable and service was mediocre.
It truly pains me to give this rating, because at one time Patsy’s was indisputably the best pizza in New York City. A special trip type of place. Then gradually, it became one of the best. And now? No better than a better-than-normal slice place. This is based on several trips over the last year. The great blistered dough is now more cracker-like. The delicious taste is now bland and ordinary. The great second bite is no more. So sad, so sad. I’ll go back to check now and then, but I’m not holding my breath.
Classic pizzeria. If your looking for a local slice of NY style pizza - patsy’s is worth the trip. They do not deliver - however picking pizza up is as easy as visiting their window and walking away with a $1.75 slice (worth it). (It was $1.75 last time I visited bit sure if it’s changed)
In Manahattan there are few historic food spots still left and I am happy to write today that Patsys Pizza has stood the test of time as one fo the best spots in East Harlem NYC.There are 2 treasures here the restaurant that serves the best Italian food left sorry RAOs Patsys is better. Every classic old school Italian dish you ever wanted here is the place to indulge those cravings. My favorite veal marsala one of the few spots in Manhattan that make it correctly or the chicken franchise or the Parmigiano both amazing portions and that old school flavor that hits your stomach and alerts your brain with the sensation of comfort. Now lets talk Pizza. Wow old school 2 dollars a slice Pizza and 1 dollar sodas are the standard here. Pies get ordered by the hundreds here and the order window line is always long. Summer Winter its all the same. Why you ask because the taste of this Pizza is beyond words wow. Lite tasteful semi sweet sauce what we call in the neighborhood Gravy yes I said it. The cheese is just the right amount of fresh mozzarella that is in every bit. The crust light yet cooked fully. I can honestly say I can eat a pie of this by myself with pleasure. Today was awesome cause I stopped by the line was short and I had my kid taste what I grew up on. He loved it as well. When in East Harlem goto Patsys Pizza then you can go home.
BEST PIZZA - thin crust - I had in NYC. Crust was perfect. Taste was fresh and not over or underwhelming. Each slice was only $2, highly worth the price. The line was long and disorganized, but owners didnt seem to care as long as the pizza sells. But I guess its alright. If they were to work on the logistics a bit, this place would get 10 stars.
Food was okay. I think due to the fact it was so highly recommend we had very high expectations but I wouldnt rave about it. Would go again for the food as it was a nice welcoming warm atmosphere. The service was timely and the seating had a lot of history on the walls. It is a fair bit away as we were staying near times Square
The food is pretty okay for the most part. but please list all of the ingredients actually included in some of your dishes and when people make special requests, LISTEN TO THEM. not everyone is just “picky”, which is valid in itself, but people have ALLERGIES guys. please do better. you’d honestly be better off going elsewhere with all of the issues this place seems to have combined.
My favorite pizza. The sauce tastes right, the cheese is perfect and I like a thin crust. The price is reasonable, too. I really want to give it 4.5 stars. I rarely give 5 stars but for my favorite pizza I feel like I should but occasionally the crust has been so thin that it’s been a little hard to eat.On my last visit I ordered a pie to bring up to Albany for some Patsy’s fans who live up here.I’ve been going here for years now (I’ve even eaten in the dining room) and always look forward to a stop here when I’m in town!
Walk up window pizza on a Sunday, never got inside the place. This is a hard one to rate. Not your typical New York slice of pizza. Its more like some weird sort of snack. Like its the White Castle of pizza.Small slice, a smattering of cheese, and a tasty sauce.Crust has no discernible taste except for the slight char from the oven. Looking at it on the plate you say to yourself Jeez, this isnt even worth the $2 theyre charging for it.Yet, it is.
Their pizza is delicious and buttery but I have NEVER been treated so rudely by an employee in my entire life. Will be getting my pizza from somewhere where the employees don’t speak down to and hang up on the people who choose to give them their business. Highly suggest giving your team some phone etiquette training.
Visiting NY and our Air bnb host said if we want good pizza we had to try here. Well let me tell ya if you are looking for good pizza....DO NOT. I REPEAT DO NOT GO HERE!!! 2hours waiting to get frozen cold pizza. Yes cold we had to then wait even longer to feed the kids. Nobody wants ice cold!!! On top of that we you have to pay extra for toppings and as you can see buy the slice in the pic $5 extra for pepperoni. You can go to store and get an entire bag for this price. So I called the restaurant and I basically he was like oh there is nothing we can do. Soooo helpful!!! 3 pies of frozen pizza for $80. NEVER EVER AGAIN!!! For this terrible pizza we could have just gotten frozen pizza from supermarket.
Great pizza - we got a single slice (crazy affordable) and made a custom pizza. Just get a cheese pizza, dont get fancy - we enjoyed the plain cheese slice way more than we did the fancy multiple topping pizza we made. Their plain cheese slice was delicious and next time would 100% go for that instead.
Im not sure why people like this place. Ive tried it for a second and final time and again i am disappointed. I ordered chicken parm with past and garlic bread. The chicken was ok but the pasta was bland like they dont salt the water and the bread tasted a day old. I think this place is all hype and wouldn’t recommend it.
You want tradition? You want a place that makes you sit and wait awhile and forces you to have a conversation with one another as your pizza is cooked to perfection? You want a place that makes you feel cozy and not feel stressed about what you have to wear? Patsys is one of the original pizza places in New York City keeping the tradition on what it means to be Italian. This place makes you feel like family. Dont be afraid to order something other than pizza because whatever you order will be on point.
Great food. The pizza and pasta are top notch. It is all cash. No credit cards. The interior is very old and could use some updating, but it isnt bad I guess they do it to keep the costs low.Edit May 23, 2021:. Dining room still closed to indoor dining. Staff said no plans to open up anytime soon. PATSYS WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR?Edit Jan 19, 2022:. Patsys is now open again for indoor dining with a reduced menu. They no longer serve things like the Veal, Frutta di Mare, Scarpariello or Fra Davolo or Bistecca Alla Pizzaiola. Definitely missing a few more. I hate to say it also on our recent visit the quality seems to have gone down. I think they are no longer using fresh clams for the Linguini with clams sauce but canned clams. And the chicken with cheese and mozzarella main dish I had (cant remember the name now) was ultimately too salty. I think this pandemic has really affected this place and Im reluctantly reducing it from 4 stars to 3 stars for now. Hopefully things get back to normal in the near future as I do like this place but this last visit was disappointing.
Expect your Pizza to Be Cold on Delivery. They dont use their own delivery people and it took 1 hr for pizza. I called asked for a manager he said to CALL Uber. Uber said to call Patsys. Endless Loop. Tried everything I could to just get hot pizza.Even offered to come pick it up in person and pay for the cab to get it faster. Was told they would not make the pizza again. If you dont love in proximity dont order. The pizza will come cold. Who really wants to spend $32 for a pie of pizza for it to be cold.Might as well get Papa Johns or Dominos as they can keep that hot.Sad day for customer service. BUYER Beware! Also sad as I NEVER write a bad review.Terrible CSR.Willing to change the review if the restaraunt addresses the issue. Managaer said he would fix it in an exchange of texts and nothing happened
Some of the best pizza Ive ever had! Our table of 5 ate 6 pizzas it was so good! No joke. Make sure you get the garlic oil to dip the pizza in, it takes the pizza to the next level! This is where the people in the know go to get their authentic old school New York pizza! A must visit if you are in the area!
Terrible customer service. The person working the front refused to even heat up the pizza. When my friend asked for a pizza with a topping they gave us a dirty look and said no toppings. I have never been to a pizza place in my life that has no toppings. The person working was rude and argumentative. I’ve lived in NY area my entire life, this place is an embarrassment. Average at best pizza below average customer experience.
The quintessential New York slice, still cooked in one of the last coal-fired ovens in the city! This pizza may sound underwhelming on the outside, but don’t let the simplicity foul you. The genius here is in the balance and execution of the few ingredients involved. Don’t be tempted to stray for the regular pie as this is where you get the full experience. Go and enjoy this American classic!
Whenever I’m in this neighborhood, I have to stop in to the takeout shop and grab 2 slices and a soda from the machine. Best super thin slice, with just tomato sauce and cheese, and with that char you get from a coal burning oven. The pizza here has a distinct taste. No toppings available on slices.Or, go order a pie and sit down next door in the restaurant section. Get any toppings you like. Personally, I enjoy sausage and onions on my pie. It’s so thin and delicious, you can probably finish a whole pie yourself. They’re small at 16” round; you can handle it! Food is good too.
In the beginning I wouldve given 4 stars, but after my 4th time buying from their take out window Ive realized that if it isnt a fresh pie, it isnt worth it. Today the slice was the worst. It was stale, as if it had been sitting in the glass enclosure for too long and they didnt even heat it up. I didnt mind at the moment because I assumed it mustve come out the oven, but no it wasnt a slice from a fresh pie. Very disappointing because I was actually looking forward to it.
This pizza is nothing like advertised! I ordered a margarita pizza and according to what the menu says and the picture, I thought I would be getting something authentic. INSTEAD I GOT REGULAR GRATED MOZZARELLA CHEESE WITH 2 (literally, we counted) PIECES OF BASIL UNDER THE CHEESE. The kicker, it came to $19 for a 16 inch pizza that tasted about like Gionvannis, where its bigger and cheaper. DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY OR DESIRE FOR GOOD ITALIAN PIZZA ON THIS PLACE! I called back about my disappointment and they seemed to think that is just how pizza is done. I expected better from what they advertise and state in the menu. :( :(
Perfect time to go was first thing in the morning 12:00. The house salad is off the hook, they do little things like blanch the onions to quell the bite, and the dressing with olive oil and pecorino is done to perfection. As for the pizza, thin, crunchy, and everything I would expect from a coal oven pizza. Perfect amount of cheese, perfect amount of sauce, which for the both of these is not too much, and in touch of basil here and there. If you havent guessed I had the margarita and its worth the trip.Jason our server was awesome. Greeted us promptly, it was attentive without being on top of us, had a great smile and even better attitude. Theres a pleasure to come here and eat here. For those who really like pizza and actually read the comments, Ill give you another two or three places to go to that might be worth your trip and keep in mind that theyre all different styles of New York Pizza.1) Nicks Pizza in Forest hills Queens2) New Park Pizza in Howard Beach3) VIP Pizza in Bayside Queens, here I would suggest the regular slice and the Sicilian only.Happy eating. Good job Patsys !
Came here after visiting museums and food was great! We got the 17 inch pizza and it was delicious. Staff was really nice and it was such a good vibe/environment. We were greeted immediately, and our food was served very quickly. If you want good pizza, come here after visiting central park.
Yes!.. it’s the best pizza in Spanish Harlem. Maybe, it’s one of the best pizzas in upper Manhattan. Yes, it’s only $14 for a standard pie. And yes, you should get one now!If you live in this area you have probably stood in line at the pick up door (which is the northern-most door), if you haven’t sat in and experienced a taste of history you probably should, and if you care for pizza at all you should try this contender for the best slice.I’m just a random guy that lives around the block telling you to live your life right by going here.
Definitely one of the best pizza places in NYC. You can get a slice as well on the side booth, which is great. They only have cheese slices , and while amazing, the slices are rather small, (but so is the cost).Would definitely recommend it to anyone who is visiting the area, and its been a top lister for many many years.
Ordered on Uber tonight and the pie was a completely undercooked (soggy) pizza (if you can call it that), came very cold, and with the wrong toppings, I tried calling to tell them this instead of putting a bad review but the pizza is so sloppy it literally crumbles when you put it onto the plate. The sausage is also undercooked. I couldn’t make it through a Slice before ordering from somewhere else. Do better!
Old fashioned but way overrated. We were seated at 8.30, just three more tables were occupied so it was a slow evening. It took 25 to 30 minutes before someone acknowledged our presence and brought a menu.45 minutes later we were still waiting for two pizzas. While we were eating the maid asked to take away the plates, half full, and brought the check. We were practically kicked out of the place in a very unprofessional way, all because they took way too long to serve the tables.Pizza is OK, nothing exceptional but enjoyable. Beer is small bottles only and -at 7$ apiece- overpriced.Service is lacking and amateurish. To top it all, the place is difficult to reach from city center and in a dirty neighborhood, we spotted a few rats among the trash bins while leaving.
Wow...just wow. Patsys Pizzeria is the reason people sell everything and move to NYC. Awesome, flavorful NY pizza. Great ambience. Friendly, non-intrusive staff. We had the pepperoni and cheese and fell in love on the first bite. I only wish they would ship to Miami.

Pizza arrived cold and it was the wrong pizza. Called Patsys and they told me I had to call Uber eats for a refund. Maybe they should MARK THE BOX WITH THE CUSTOMERS NAME for the Uber eats driver, not his fault. Shame because they have good pizza when it is the right order and HOT!!!
I went to the East Harlem location. The staff was friendly and attentive and the food came out quickly. The food was DELICIOUS. I got the margarita pizza and the eggplant parm with potato and broccoli and split with a couple friends. Highly recommend! Possibly the best pizza Ive ever had.
I guess I arrived at a busy time. A while after taking my order, the waiter said it would be a few more minutes. Ten minutes later, he said the same thing. Second time, it was true. When the pizza arrived, it was warm.It had a thin, crispy crust. Not as much cheese and sauce as I like, but that is a matter of style and taste. Ditto for the onions, which were sort of raw. With tax (and four toppings) the bill was $27.25, cash only. I paid $42.25, having only 1s and 20s. The change came back: two 5s. That really annoyed me. If they insist on cash only, then they should be able to make change correctly.
The worst pizza and calamari I have ever eaten! I ordered 1/2 cheese and 1/2 eggplant pizza and there was barely any cheese or eggplant on the pizza. We also ordered calamari and it was horrible! The sauce isnt bad but the only good thing off of the menu. Save your money and order elsewhere.
I get that due to Covid everyones hours have changed but its going to be half a year since the restrictions have started. The hours shouldve been updated and posted on their doors by now. My bf and I drove after work to get a pie because I was praising their pizza for a while now. When he went to place an order the employee was rude. We went to get cash from the car and came back to see that the gates were down at 8:50. When the employees walked out they said that they close at 9. Just update your hours and voicemail. At least put a sign on the door.

2022-03-16What is perfection? New York pizza should be so simple, it wouldnt pass an entrance test to a preschool. Basic thin crust, that tears with the resistance youd expect from a 7yo at bedtime, and yet soft enough to warrant the folding we know these slices command. A plentiful sauce, enough to constitute the majority flavour profile, piquant acid and with only natural tomato sweetness. The cheese is there only to create a texture contrast, and this cheese is in the perfect quantity to not dominate the whole. Its $15 of New York pizza perfection. It sounds crazy, but its hard to find a great slice among all the slices that dominate the streets here. Patsys is also in a wonderful neighbourhood. Catch the 6 up to 116th and enjoy a great walk to patsys. Its perfect new york slice pizza.

2022-01-04Patsys what can you say this is one of the Best Pizza spots in NYC. The Historical photographs on the wall are amazing as well. THE FOOD IS GREAT...our server was awesome and followed Covid protocols. However, you will need CASH ONLY in this place. They do not do electronic payments.

2021-09-03I had a slice of cheese from the window. Its a very good slice but if youre visiting NYC and have limited time, the dirty secret is that some of the $1 pizza places in midtown and downtown are pretty much just as good (not all though). The slice here is NY style with a lot of flop and above average amount of cheese. Crust is toward the soft and chewy end.

2022-02-21Quality is very inconsistent. It seems to really depend who is making the pies....Sometimes this pizza is excellent, other times it is very blah. As of late the quality of the cheese seems to have diminished. Really hope this spot doesnt start going down the drain. Was truly a NYC staple for many years delivering some of the best pizza this city has to offer.

2022-03-19The pizza was excellent. The wait was a little crazy; I think they need a better system

2022-04-06My favorite pizza anywhere. Nice thin crust cooked in a brick oven fired with coal. Sauce is delicious. Garlic on top is my favorite. I can eat a whole pie. A must try if you never had it. Its that good.

2022-02-12We scheduled a delivery for 7:30pm yesterday. It arrived on time, but was cold and looked like it had been made hours ago. The side of cheesy garlic bread was clumped together and also cold.I called and explained the situation to see if we could get a replacement pizza since I assumed it was a mistake, but the owner said, verbatim, “It’s not my problem.”He refused to help in any way and shoo-d me off the phone. I reported it to Uber Eats since this pizza had cheese and anchovies, and it was obviously not made fresh. What a garbage experience and I would actively avoid going here or recommending to anyone in the city.

2022-02-23Excellent service, very good food, fair price. We had the arugula salad with candied walnuts that was fantastic, the garlic bread that was amazing. We also had chicken parmigiana and vodka penne with shrimp which was good. Would definitely recommend and return!
