I think the chef hit the mark on this place, evoking a Midwestern feeling with its selection of comfort food. Almost everything all had a touch of that NYC refinement to them. Its a cute place to take your parents or your little one. The only thing I didnt really like was the Mac and green. A bit bland, and bitter. Even though it is samll, I only enjoy the first few bits. The selection of local stuff at the back is cool too.
This is a really special restaurant. If you grew up in suburban America (whether the Midwest or elsewhere), Patti Anns will tickle your nostalgia while blowing you away with the quality of each dishs preparation.I was thrilled to see this restaurant arrive in the neighborhood, and Ill be excited to see where the team takes the menu in the future.
Got a horrible stomach ache after eating here. The food was expensive for what it was and not good enough to warrant it. The Midwestern food felt too “elevated” and ended up with odd flavors, i.e. super sour Mac n cheese and oddly sweet meatloaf.Cocktails were good. Wouldn’t recommend this restaurant.
Elevated Midwestern. As at Olmsted and Maison Yaki, you order at the beginning of the night and dishes are brought out as they are done. Pacing was excellent, cocktails were very good, food very good.Highlights included:Port wine cheese w/CrostiniDuck meatloafMostaccioli w/meatMashed PotatoesAll cocktails (and I bet all the others are great as well)
Sunday Brunch was wonderful. We ordered the Everything Cruller with Gravlax and B.E.C. and both tasted great. The B.E.C. came in a soft grilled potato bun, fluffy silky eggs and bacon. Yum.The Everything Cruller with Gravlax was something we never had before. Its similar to an Everything Bagel with Lox but the cruller made it special. We will definitely be back to try other things on the menu.
Food was delicious. No other way to say it. I read that the portions could be on the smaller side so I was a little bit worried given the prices were not cheap. The two of us each ordered a main dish and shared a blooming onion and we left feeling stuffed. So the sizes do seem a bit small but the dishes are either deceivingly filling or the blooming onion was very filling. Either way, we left feeling extremely satisfied. It was more than enough food for two people. Cocktails were good and the food was great. Would love to come in a bigger group and try more dishes. Country fried pork chop was awesome. And the duck meatloaf was also great. Cant go wrong with the blooming onion!
If zero stars was possible thats what Patti Anns would receive because it was a waste of my money and time. Everything is coated in a pound of unevenly diced chives...a sprinkle is all you need to go the distance, chef greg. The childhood aesthetic is borderline pedophillic. Honestly, this place doesnt need to exist. Also, got racist vibes, just trust me (open kitchen design=listening to the chef de cuisines poor spanish). Save your money and just cook for yourself

2022-04-16Highly recommend checking Patti Ann’s out but come in a chest day! The chicken fried pork chop was exactly the guilty pleasure that sets off an evening. But nothing we ordered ordered wasn’t pleasing. The greens in the Mac & Greens are pretty bitter which at first was a bit of a shock but as you eat the rest of the rich things that bitterness is actually a really welcome complement. If I had a complaint it would just be that our server directed us to add another plate to our order that we surely didn’t need. We came home with a lot of leftovers. But there are worse things than a fridge full of yummy leftovers.

2022-04-01How could I not do the whole elevated Midwestern chic dining experience from the team that brought us Olmsted?! There were some standouts - the Bloomin Onion, the cocktails. Green River! Nothing was bad per se, but when the bar has been set so high, I was a little disappointed that nothing really blew me away. The portions are definitely more tasting menu than Midwestern for the most part. I’m sure it’ll improve with time, and will give it another chance!

2022-04-22A new gem at Vanderbilt! Perfect for an early Saturday morning! Loved the Apple Rye Hazelnut cake. All you need on a Saturday morning is book, cake, coffee and some warm comfortable space to get your beautiful morning started!

2022-06-17Big ol pot of mashed potato’s and duck meatloaf was exactly what I needed after a day like today. Portions are nothing to laugh at. Wash it all down with a Pilsner. They gave me straight As. I feel appreciated.

2022-05-05Amazing breakfast/coffee shop vibe during the weekday and weekend mornings. Everything is freshly baked and delicious. Coffee is great. And amazing little general store in the back with great local produce and in-house baked goods.Dinner is also amazing (don’t be fooled by the menu’s simplicity and kid-friendly dishes…the food’s legit. Try the Royale Roasted Chicken - 1/2 or whole chicken cooked 4 ways.

2022-03-30Had an absolutely standout solo meal at the bar. Got too much food for one person but plenty of leftovers, the Brussels Sprouts Caesar salad surprised in the best way, very tangy and perfectly balanced, the acidity helped break up the rich mashed potatoes and incredibly flavorful chicken. Looking forward to returning with a group to conquer the whole menu.
