Your car start out as a big financial investment and then becomes something you depend on day in and day out to work without question.so its important to point out the need to have a trusted auto repair shop to go to in your neighborhood. they know your car and can keep up with the changes year over year. from state inspections to oil changes there are a lot of the little things that a local mechanic can look at and care for while these routine checkups are getting done. a mechanic you know will take the time to lay things out for you. a new mechanic may professionally make suggestions but i feel they are limited to how willing the mechanic is, or is not.Pauls Auto Repair has been very honest and up front with me from the start. i was informed of any small issues or changes to my car and feel that i am better informed of the condition of my car since i have been going to Pauls.keep up the good work guys and Ill see you in another 2000miles!!

TWICE, my tire had a nail in it, each time I brought it to Pauls. I was taken immediately BOTH TIMES (a huge rarity) and met with friendly, helpful and knowledgeable service/repairmen and an extremely professional owner. Everyone spoke kindly and reassuringly, each job was done quickly, efficiently and expeditiously. Very pleased!!!

I have been coming to this place to get my oil changed on all of my cars. Paul has a good crew that are quick and thorough. Oil change and an inspection took about 30 minutes. They will also let you know what is wrong and if they cannot do the work they will lt you know and recommend a place that can do the work. This only happened with a tire that was punctured and they could not replace it for a reasonable price. This is definitely one of the more reliable places to get your car or truck looked at.
I have truly never had a better experience at an auto shop or anywhere. Paul cares above and beyond about his clients. He is quick, thorough, beyond fair on price. By far the most honest and professional shop in town. Paul treats every single one of his costumers with utmost respect. Honesty, integrity and courtesy is what you get when you go here. Unlike the other places in town, he doest judge you by the type of car you drive. The staff at the shop are also amazing. If you dont bring your car here, you definitely took it to the wrong place.
Great service!This past weekend, I was going to drive to Canada and noticed the inspection sticker expired. (It was Saturday at 2PM and my Volvo dealer was already closed)Paul stopped what he was doing in the shop and immediately inspected the car.He got it on the lift and went over it like a surgeon, and got me on the road in 20 minutes.Thank you Paul!!!!!
My family has been going to him for over 4 years. Over the years a synthetic oil change went from $100 to $250, and a battery change from $100 to $300. Double to triple the price over a 4 year period, inflation alone doubles prices every 15-20 years, not 4 years.Suspected he was high balling us, and his recent quotes for brakes and other regular maintenance were at least 2.5-3x the normal rate others quoted me. And his OEM parts, he tells me they are top quality, and most recently he had to hold my car for a few extra days because his quality part was not such good quality. After the most recent repairs, I had my car a day later inspected by a close friend who works on all his cars himself and is well knowledgeable. Turns out Pauls parts were the cheapest ones, and often the work he recommended was the easiest ones with the highest margins, typically recommended for highest profits for his business.He acts really nice, and acts really honest, and at first he will be. Once he has your trust, dont be surprised to see prices go up
Had a flat tire and AAA and others that I called were going to take 2 hours at least to get to me. I called Pauls simply by using Google to get the information of a repair place nearby and these guys flew to my rescue. Withing 15 minutes they were helping me with my car. They were absolutely wonderful.
I went on two occasions and was impressed with the high level of service, expertise, equipment, their hours open, price, and friendliness.First time was for a headlight. They changed it in 10 mins. When had to pay, realized I forgotten my wallet (I know, big Duhh moment). Angel, like the angel he is, let me have my car and calmly told me to bring the money whenever. I went back and paid it soon, though.Second time was for my air heater/cooler/or AC. Long story, short, they had it for two days, trying to create an invention, to fix it - only because he was trying to save me money from buying a certain expensive part. Paul and his crew somewhat succeeded. Although not fully fixed, they improved the issue. Paul tried talking with my extended warranty co, trying to get coverage for me, and advised me to cancel it. Upon picking up my car, I asked him how much I owe. Paul just said, Ahh, no charge. I was like hey, let me pay something. He said Next time. So, I said Ill write him some good reviews. He was like, ok. ..Lol
My car had a flat tire and I took it in when the shop opened (7am, amazing! You don’t have to miss work for repairs). The guys there took care of me right away, checked tire to see if there was a hole and such. I asked if they could get new tires if they couldn’t patch the one I had up. They could and I could get the car back end of the same day. Before they got the new tires, they gave me a call to let me know how much it was to repair (great customer service). They drove me to the train station (told me on my way back to call them and they would pick me up, that’s truly great service) and after work, I came back to new tires and the car drives like a breeze. Also, they went above and beyond by telling me why my car was having loud vibrations and they gave me a quote to fix it.
Honesty is the best policy! The dash board light shows B135 which means I needed oil change and tire rotation and a couple of other things. Paul looked up his computer and told me that I already had everything else done and needed only the oil change. So I picked up my car 2 hours after drop off and everything is perfect. Paul came through for me, again.

Very honest shop to bring your car to. They could have taken advantage of my situation, instead, they told me the best options available and sent me home to think about it. I ended up donating the car, but had I moved forward with the work, I would have done it here.
Paul and his crew have helped me from inspecting and getting my first car (23 year old car) on the road to referring me to his tow guy which arrived in no more than half an hour, and I do not have one complaint with service, communication, or pricing. Highly recommended.
The Fastest & The most honest mechanic service You can get around great neck !!!! 100%i think they are very honest and hard working crew $$. i took my car to the shop they have replaced some sensors and after a week i had the same issues again. i was so angry and i thought i would have to pay more money but it was the opposite they replaced the sensors at no coast which is very awesome and the job was done with no time
I brought my car in for a simple flat tire 2/13 and was told that the tire was repairable and was told that I needed to have it replaced, the mechanic didnt even bother to take the tire off the rim to inspect, I ended up taking the flat tire to Costco (which is awesome) and they were able to repair it with no issues and Costco told me to stay away from this mechaninc because they didnt even bother taking off the tire to inspect (could have been plugged) thats what Costco ended up doing, Costco also told me that they should have notified me that on of stud is rusted and needed to be changed. I have attached a picture showing report.I dont plan on returning to this repair shop I felt like they just took money and didnt fix the problem and wasted 2 hours of my time plus they tried to upsell me on a new tire.
This place is by far an away the most straight forward, honest, timely and clean repair shop I have ever been to. They are knowledgeable and have the ability to diagnose even the most complicated and unusual car issues. I would definitely recommend this shop to anyone who is looking for reliable mechanic.
Place is a complete ripoff, overpriced an oil change and wouldnt even give a break despite me providing the filter. This place is what gives auto mechanics a bad name. I’ll never use this place again
Friendly and excellent service. Walked in for an inspection in the rain as a new customer. They drove me home and picked me up later. I cant speak about their skills as I only had an inspection but friendly, helpful and polite. Will definitely be back!

2022-04-01The absolute best mechanic shop in Great Neck! I found Paul’s Auto Repair through a quick google search when I was looking for a shop to help me with a flat tire. I had gotten there at 6 PM, but Paul and the rest of his staff were absolutely amazing in helping me get my tire replaced. He made the whole process so seamless and I felt at ease the entire time. This is without a doubt a one stop shop where there isn’t anything that they can’t help you with. This shop is a great addition to the town and the customer service is impeccable. I look forward to coming back here for all my car needs!

2022-02-28Paul and their staff are always my first choice for work on my decade old car. Theyre straight shooters, will tell you exactly whats wrong, and how much itll cost. Ive brought my car in for some fairly big repairs here and theyve always delivered as quick as possible and nothing theyve done has ever required another repair. If you need your car fixed in Great Neck or even Little Neck, theres nowhere better.

2022-01-04This is not the first time I have taken any of my 4 cars to Paul. Each and every time the repairs and service has been nothing short of exceptional. Checked the car from top to bottom, identified the core issues and repaired, but also indicated when work will be needed on aging parts. If you are looking for an honest and reputable mechanic shop, Pauls is the one. Just to add, I do a significant amount of work on my cars, so I can see the quality. Next on the visit list, my sons car.

2022-01-132013 Altima - shifter was locked in the PARK position and would not release when foot brake was pressed. Pauls tech could not replicate the problem after many tries. No repair needed - the shifter is now free. Was not charged for their efforts. Nice shop - friendly, professional and efficient. Im happy.

2021-05-29Amazing service. Called about low tire pressure and they let me come in right away. They checked out all my tires and lifted up the car. Filled up all of them and checked for holes too. Gave me advice and let me know the issues. Then, when i asked how much, they told me not to worry about it because it was just checking+adding air! Great people and so considerate+kindThank you so much!
