Amaaaaaazing breakfast! Nice size menu, fresh food and OJ, great service (small wait but warranted because it’s so good!) the home fries, the French toast- to die for! Breakfast tacos are my fav. Long story short, if you’re contemplating whether to eat here or not, think no more. Fast service, very attentive waitress and staff. We literally got our food in 10 mins flat after ordering and it was fresh and hot. New fav spot for sure. Still wondering how I just found out about it. Better late than never right?!
Found this place on google maps while looking for brunch spots, and this place hit the spot! Their BLT was amazing, crispy turkey bacon, crispy lettuce and crispy toast - perfection! Also really great fries, not soggy at all!Service was okay, the staff wasnt very attentive but defiantly a yummy place to come back to :)
Have to agree with other reviews - its like other diners around so wouldnt come in expecting anything crazy different. The food was good and came out fast. $11 for brunch is a good deal. The orange juice was freshly squeezed so that was a nice touch. Ordered the Kick Ass Benedict and Irish Breakfast.
I can probably write a review every time I come here. Food is always delicious and staff is amazingly friendly they treat you like family. This morning I tried something new ( I’m an omelette guy) which was the banana foster French toast, good God! One of the best French Toasts I’ve had in a while, let’s just say I’m still thinking about it. Absolutely delicious!
All the great reviews for this place for breakfast are all on point. Weve actually been trying to come here for breakfast for the past couple of months but havent been lucky at the times weve tried. Its first come, first serve so theres no reservations and sometimes the wait line can get pretty long. We made it a point to come early Sunday morning hoping to beat the crowd and got lucky. Service and staff are welcoming and attentive. The place is clean and comfortable with booths, some tables in the back, and counter service. We had the breakfast tacos, chicken and waffles, and avocado toast and everything was delicious! Food came out super fast and perfect! My wife isnt really into breakfast tacos but she finished her plate. I especially like thats its chicken strip and waffles which makes the dish an easier endeavor vs pulling meat from the bone. Avocado toast was supposed to be for our little one but she enjoyed the waffles fries and chicken instead so my wife and I enjoyed her dish. To say we enjoyed is an understatement. Keep in mind its cash only but theres an atm in the back by the restrooms. We will definitely return!
Pretty good spot for breakfast and brunch. Food is very good and prices are low. Coffee is ok but they have fresh squeeze orange juice and its very tasty. Service is very good and the restaurant is clean. It can get crowded on the weekends so plan ahead and expect about a 30 minutes wait for a table. The place is not very big so it doesnt feel very cozy when its crowded.
The absolute best mom & pop dinner. Food is always fresh, delicious and prepared daily. Worth every penny! Its best to go early in the morning for breakfast because it is often hard to get a seat, but theres nothing wrong with sitting at the counter. This place just has such an awesome feel and a warm welcoming atmosphere.
I lived in Brooklyn for 3 years from May 2015. My husband and I met there for lunch when we got there and we were blown away at the service and atmosphere of this place. The owner, his wife and children truly care about making sure that customers are pleased with their food and the level of service. My husband ordered their banana pancakes and you can taste real fruit in it. They were so accommodating and let my husband get very creative with what he wanted. I cant wait to get back in Brooklyn NY to go to this great place with amazing food! I have taken most of my visitors there and they were never disappointed. A must try!
I read the reviews of this place before coming in; the food looked great so we decided to give it a shot. Walking in it looks like a regular small diner. I had the eggs Benedict. They were great. The hollandaise was very well seasoned and they use a different type of bread to substitute for the English muffin... it totally made a big and positive difference. My boyfriend had the chicken and waffles. The waffles were delicious and perfectly fluffy. The chicken was juicy and fresh. We will be back for sure!
Lovely little mom and pop Greek diner thats been around for ages.I normally dont like diner food but this has become one of my go-to spotsIts also packed a lot of the times, so expect a wait if you go during peak times.Service is great and food is pretty good as well.Love their french toast with walnuts and bananas.
Called and representative said they were not busy. Place was packed and we had to wait 10 minutes. We had to seat ourselves. Food is overpriced; 7.25 for a waffle I can make at home for 50c. Lemonade is 4.25 and absolutely disgustingly acidic! Water was not offered and when asked the waiter bought only one cup for 2 people. Restaurant does not offer substitutions in meals. What a joke! : (
Food is good. Above average.Service could be way better. Waiter decided to sit down and eat breakfast while serving others.Employee meal should be before or after their shift, Not during. They jump for regulars but ignore others. Also not a fan of their tables. You constantly get people hitting you while their moving around.Very annoying while eating. Then to top it off their Cash only. Thats annoying nowadays.
I dont understand the crazy long lines and rave reviews Ive heard; this is just like any other diner. Its definitely small, which can explain the waits. Staff are efficient but not overly friendly. Fake maple syrup is a cardinal sin in my book. Overall, its okay. Its definitely conveniently located to the subway, but the waits mean walking farther to go somewhere else is just as convenient.
I really cant remember when was the last time I went to a place for breakfast or lunch in particular that reminded me I wasnt in NYC, this is the place. Creative food dishes that will leave you stunned and feeling melancholy. The fresh squeezed grapefruit and more importantly the home made mint lemonade (its not minty but feels refreshing) was incredible. The Kick A__ plate with two poached eggs on top of a fresh and hefty piece of delicious ham, on top of a toasted bread and the sauces gives it a slight spicy(very bearable) kick that just left.me wanting more. Ill be back at least 3x a month when I head to Brooklyn. This place is now on my top 5 in Brooklyn, well NYC for that matter for breakfast and lunch. And not.to leave out the prices are so decent that your just nor going to believe the experience overall. Enjoy, I know I did and will continue to enjoy. Love this place.
Great food, friendly staff and usually my favorite place to have breakfast. There can be long wait times due to the popularity of the restaurant but I would most gladly wait for my table. Small diner with about 10 tables. Not the biggest place but the service and quality of food is exceptional. Worth a visit or three!
What we got was good. Im not a fan of heaps of carbs. The brunch was a traditional American breakfast with potatoes and toast. I asked for a salad instead of potatoes. They accommodated my request but what I got mostly consists of colorless iceberg lettuce. Otherwise, good place for tried and true standard faire.
Bad thing that they dont accept debit or credit card. Their coffee policy is interesting. You can get 1 free if your meal costs more than $10.50. Although two cups of coffee was enough, I would like to have bottomless coffee during my breakfast though. Food is decent.
The food is always good and the service is fast. Its usually crowded- for good reason! I love the French toast and fresh grapefruit juice. Beware: its cash only. I do believe that they have an ATM, but there are several banks on 86th Street between 4th and Ft Hamilton so save your money. Anyway, I recommend Pegasus as one of the best breakfast spots in the neighborhood.
Usually go here about once a month, and overall its a solid breakfast/brunch/lunch option. I like the way they do their potatoes - somewhere between home fries and a big hash brown - and though Im not one for either grapefruit or juice, my other half really likes their fresh squeezed grapefruit juice. The booths have recently been updated as well. Its a small dinner and can be very busy on weekends, so theres often a wait, but never more than 10-15 min tops. The other slight drawback of it being busy is that it can take a while to get a refill on your coffee and to get the check, and usually youll have to flag someone down for those things (when its slower, servers are much better about noticing when you need something and proactively coming over, so they do a good job, just dont expect constant checking in on during a rush).
I really do not know why people stand in line and wait for tables at Pegasus. It is a typical Diner in Bay Ridge where are many other diners and restaurants co-exist. The food isnt exceptionally better the coffee is okay. Then to cap it off they do not accept credit cards. It baffles my mind that this is considered a trendy restaurant. It mainly is a counter with round stools and a few booths. I do not see the attraction. I do not see the value. The people keep coming.
THE BREAKFAST WAS INSANELY DELICIOUS!The place has that old style, small diner feel, but the food was anything but ordinary. I ordered the Angry Crab Cakes Benedict, 2 Eggs Benedict with a light delicious lump crab cake on an English muffin topped with this perfect, spicy Hollandaise sauce. There was a small mesclun salad next to it with these luscious slices of juicy heirloom tomatoes topped with a delectable, reduced balsamic vinegar that tasted like it was a 20 year old aceto balsamico from Italy... MIND BLOWN!!! I was not expecting this, it has to be one of the best breakfasts I have had in a very long time!!! I spoke to their guy, Chef Harris, he definitely pays attention to detail. It was good to know people like this still exist. If you want diner food, dont come here... This is way too good to be called that. Thank you for making my birthday breakfast Special.
As a millennial, the concept of brunch has been turned from a meal eaten between breakfast and lunch into a boozy, multi-hour ordeal that has become more about the champagne and bloody marys than about actual food and a conversation. Thats why I prefer my brunches at Pegasus.Much like the mystical creature from Greek mythology, Pegasus manages to feel magical. Sporting both regular diner fare as well as a more unique brunch menu, this small restaurant in the heart of Bay Ridge is a great place to go to sit down and have a bite. Service is always friendly and quick, on account of the depth and width of the restaurant. One of my favorite items on the Pegasus menu has been the french toast. Thick slices of challa bread, coated in a bourbon glaze makes the morning seem just a bit brighter. While other diners might ground up some dirt and run it through the coffee filter, the coffee here tastes incredible - no overburnt taste or gritty after bite.Prices can be a bit expensive relative to other diners, however the quality of the food far makes up for that. Additionally, given the limited seating the restaurant has, be prepared to wait a few minutes for a seat - even longer if you come during peak meal times!
I order from here weekly, they have great prices, the staff are super nice and friendly and will always cater to your needs. One thing is that in the mornings especially on weekends get there early or else you will wait 45 minutes for a booth or you can sit on the counter.

2022-04-02One of my favorite to go places when I visit New York. I have been here multiple times with family and we absolutely love it. It does stay busy and there may be a short waiting time, but the service is fast and excellent. Ive only tried the breakfast but the multiple times I have been there it has been very good. The food is freshly cooked, tastes very good, and I always look forward to having a nice cup of coffee from here. This is a great restaurant with a cozy environment and a great menu. Highly recommended!

2022-06-03My first time there and was dessapointed and annoyed for the first 45mi, them was ok.Giving 4 starts for the server- very nice & swet young lady Miranda. I got there and was told by the guy at front I need to wait about 15mim.,although they were 3 empty booths, or ,sit at the counter. NOT a smile or Gm. I patiently waited, after 12min a couple came in, was seated right away. I asked the guy, short black hair at front : Let me get this right, so I have to wait until a single table open (it did 28min after my arrival) although theres 3 booth open, but anyone after me ,2 or more can sit? His replay is only for more than 1 person So where is this posted? No answer. Ok good to know to let people know in my review! This was an embarrassing situation 😳. Just I started writing, he said, ok take the booth at the end. Now seated, service was great. Noticed water & coffe was refill but none to last 4 tables.I had to ask for it to the same person I spoke previously who brought it right away, smile, and apologized for the coffe machine having some issues and bringing me a fresh one..Order avocado toast, they were very good ,tasty and everything cook right. I tipped the young lady generously because she was very sweet and on point. My opinion: food is good, great menu ,somewhat expensive , but compare to the Commons at 95St., need more customers friendly personnel. There, they tell you about the table regulations, accommodate you and take your number to notify you when ready. Will try here 1 more time.

2021-07-30I really dont know how this place has great reviews because my food was really tasteless. Seriously no flavor at all. My food was disgusting. Called back to tell the woman and her reply was because it took me 40 min (exaggeration) to pick my food up and she doesnt know what to tell me. Seriously! I from out of town and came here because online it looked good NOPE!!! Straight GARBAGE. I know good food and this aint it.

2021-11-14The absolute best breakfast spot in New York, period. Family owned by some of the nicest people youll meet, and seriously, the best food. The spicy eggs benedict is great, as is the rest. Orange juice is squeezed fresh upon order. Harace and Jane, the original owners, made this place special for 30+ years, and a spot youve got to try.Harace and Jane, thanks again for your kindness, hospitality, and amazing food. Food in Austin just doesnt compare!

2022-07-18Small wait time for brunch, but it was worth it. The food and service were excellent, and the prices were reasonable. Great breakfast tacos! My only complaint was that the music was extremely loud.
