Pelicana Chicken in other cities:
Solid experience overall! Welt with a group of 4 and ordered a whole crispy boneless chicken with honey mustard and the pelicana signature sauce. The signature sauce can be ordered with varying levels of spice to suit discerning tastes.Atmosphere is low key with dimmed led lighting, very conversational and casual atmosphere.Service is solid and timely. Theres a button on the table to ask for service rather than attempting your best impression of signal flagging down a waiter or waitress.I have not tried the other dishes as of yet but theyre crispy fried chicken is tough to beat even with other competitive options in the area. Would fully recommend to go to at least once!
Great chicken with so many different flavors. Something for everyone. A nice spot to go with some friends or on casual date night where you can just chat it up. I highly recommend the ice cream beers, get them early though because the sometimes run out of the mango flavor due to its popularity. 🍺
First time eating here and I had a blast because it tasted really good. Food came out slow (like 30 minutes upon ordering), and my friend had to wait for his chicken burger order for an additional 5 minutes because they said that something happened with their fryer *shrugs*. One of the servers asked if it was too messy eating their chicken burger and I said yes, so he provided both of us transparent plastic bags he claimed was clean to wrap our burgers with so we would not get any sauce on our hands. It did help with the mess but it sure looks a little awkward. Nonetheless their chicken tasted really good.
Normally, I enjoyed Pelicana chicken but today made me decide I would never go to this branch ever again. We ordered 2 chicken one at level 1 and another one at level 3 but when we got there to pick it up the worker stated otherwise. We were okay with that and just told him that it was not what we ordered and we would like to get it fixed but he started getting mad and being aggressive towards us. He told us that they would give us sauce on the side but we said we just wanted it remade, he was stating things like it’s a waste but that is not what we wanted. I will not be going back anymore because the service is very lacking especially the attitude of the workers.
It was great! We ordered the one whole crispy spicy fried chicken, half regular and half tossed in this white snowing cheese. It was so delicious! Very crispy! They cut up the whole chicken, and deep fry each individual part!We also ordered their truffle oil fries as an appetizer. It was so good, we had to order 2!
Came with a group of friends on 5/21 around 10. Girls had an attitude from the start and wanted us to eat within 20 mins bc they close at 11 but their hours are until 11:30?? Anyways, order two orders of their boneless crispy spicy chicken and it wasnt even cooked. I have a video of it lol. Handed our check, when we needed a jug of water one of them had an attitude bc she was busy talking to someone lmao ended up throwing up on the ride home and after and my friends got sick too! thanks for the service 😃
For $15 10 wings you dont expect the point of the wing that ALMOST EVERYONE CUTS OFF to be counted as a wing. Chinese restaurants have better wings, premium wings?! I dont think so. Even the other pieces have more breading than meatPopeyes would of done the trick too.Update: 1 wing of the 10 was actually good.
This is the second location of this popular chain I have been to. The other being in the Korea Town Food Court in midtown. My kids wanted Korean fried chicken so we decided to go since they enjoyed in at the other location. Parking can be a bit tough in the area so plan ahead. They have family meal and drink deals which are always a plus. The wings came out quick and were cooked to perfection. Tried the soy garlic sauce and it is awesome. So garlicky and delicious. Portion sizes are great for groups and it is a nice little spot to grab some drinks and Korean pub food.
The fry their food very well. I only like it when its not drenched in sauce so Ill either get the sauce on the side or none at all. The chicken sandwiches have toppings like a cheeseburger its sort of weird. I would prefer it with a pickle and coleslaw instead of lettuce onion tomato and cheese. Service is a little inattentive as when I go I only see 1 staff. If you think of it as like a eat in fast food quality place its not that bad
The best!!! Im from CA and we know good Korean food when we try it. Please do yourself a favor and order the Crispy wings with Pelicana signature sauce. Literally heaven in your mouth not to mention the delicious white cheese fries. Yummy! I definitely recommend this place.
I ordered couple times from this place and i had no problem. I ordered on the phone this time for takeout and repeated my order 3-4 times with three other people next to me. When my dad went to pick up the order they got my order wrong. (I ordered level 1&3 but they gave both level 1). The worker got mad at my dad saying he heard a both level 1s. My dad asked for the original order and the worker gave madd attitude saying to come back later then. NEVER ORDERING FROM THERE AGAIN
Whole fried chicken with original sauce no.2 is delicious, juicy and fresh. Quality of chicken seems better than other fried chicken stores in flushing. Fries are not as good as Mad for chicken and menu is not as extensive but the chicken here is juicier but the skin also falls off more easily. I also tried the white cheese snow and it was much sweeter than expected. I personally did not like it.
This is a great chicken place. The sides are as good as the chicken. Service is prompt and courteous. Prices are not too cheap and not too expensive. Great for couples or small groups.I got the spicy fried boneless chicken, and I ate until I was too full because it tasted that good. If you are in the area it is a definte must visit spot.
Pelicana has a chill vibe--perfect for chicken and beer while youre watching a game on television. The chicken is delicious with a good balance of meat and crispy fried coatings. The fries are thick and well-seasoned. The mozzarella sticks are to die for. The restaurant itself is clean. However, when compared to the local favorite Mad for Chicken, the chicken wings/drumsticks are smaller, making the portion look smaller for the price. Its certainly not as pricey as Mad for Chicken but neither is it on the cheaper side. Many sauces, such as those for the mozzarella sticks or fries, do not come with the dish. Rather, you have to pay an additional few dollars for it.Overall, its a nice restaurant with good food. Im not sure if its a place Id like to go regularly to but its a nice occasional place to just hang out with friends.
This is by far one of the nastiest places Ive ever ate from. I ordered $64 worth of food for me and my family. Everything on the menu is over priced and they give you small portions. The sauces are disgusting and I ordered 3 different kind for the half chicken and boneless chicken. The chicken sandwich was nasty. Some parts of the chicken is black and some parts are white. The food was cold. They didnt give me no napkins or folks to eat with. The fries was ok but everything else made me sick. I had to throw up. Just please save your money and order papa johns or somewhere else you can trust!
I got to say they have one of the best fried chicken in all the Flushing area and the radish is very good and the portion is bigger compared to other places when it comes to the price is probably it’s a bit expensive but the quality makes sense for it. The fries as well are very well prepared and their signature ugly chicken sandwich is a must that he should be try be everyone
Great service makes these wings the best in flushing!I had pelicana before and it was good but I didnt get the full experience until I went again. Our server Kevin did a amazing job waitering, he explained and stopped by often to check on things. Now to the most important part, the wings. Im a big fan of the traditional wings(soy fried chicken). I like the good ole sweet/spicy/salty/lightly fried chicken. My lady ordered the classic wings with the signature sauce. Both the wings were served about elementary spicy which I think is just enough to make your mouth tingle without any pain. Im a real man, I like it spicy (but not high school spicy).Underneath the perfect fried exterior, which isnt greasy at all, is some of the juiciest chicken I had in a while. I dont even remember if the last time I came the wings were so juicy. Also order the sweet potato fries and thank me later.
OMG...ive been on this wings kick for the last 30 days. Trying to find the best wings in Queens. Ive been to 4-5 places. I must say Pelicana chicken in Flushing is the best Ive tasted so far. Not greasy, light and airy, tender. U cant stop eating them. A little pricey, but i will pay for good food. You will not be disappointed...B. Francis
Dinner after 9pm New Years Eve. Korean-casual room, many screens showing sports, fairly loud hip hop playing. Nice server recommended their chicken. Got meaty, large wings, fried, with medium spicy sauce on it. Very tasty meat, sauce definitely spicy, will go mild spice next time. Great value, best shared. Nice staff will lead you. Good beers, but went with Soju. Go with 2 or more to fully enjoy.
Lively place, standard sports bar sort of decor...wide selection of drinks, appetizers, seasonings, and sauces. All of my food tasted great, too. However, I am deducting a star for the service - our server didnt write down our order, came back several times to confirm what I had ordered, and then ultimately got several items in my order incorrect. It took so long for the food to get to me that I didnt have time to send the items back and wait for them to prepare them again, so I was fairly annoyed.
Food was above average. The fries with truffle oil and calamari were delicious. The chicken to me was just like any other Korean Bon Chon chicken but very juicy. The special thing about this place is all the side sauce that you can order for an extra dollar or two (go with original garlic if you must). My friends and I had the ice cream beer (grapefruit, mango and orange creme) which I say is a must try. I would give the food here 3.5 - 4 stars but the reason I gave this place 5 stars total and would recommend this place is because of the atmosphere along with the excellent service. We came with a group of 6 which was consider a large group since this place is kind of small. There was a 4 seats table opened and a couple who sat at the next table. The awesome server waited for another random table to leave then asked the couple if they could move to the random table so he could push the tables together and have all 6 of us sit. Its hard to find an establishment who would put their customers first over business! And because it was my friends birthday he also gave us 2 bottles of Soju on the house and asked if we were still hungry so he could give us some food on the house as well!! Would definitely recommend and return again!!
Pelicana Chicken is the ideal spot for a late night snack. They have some incredibly flavorful and crunchy chicken that is fresh as can be. I would recommend the white snowing cheese, as it has a sweet taste to it that compliments the salty nature of the chicken and/or fries. The 2AM closing time is great and makes it the number one spot for a bite while out at night. If youre looking for a Korean Fried Chicken place that offers you a decent variety of finger foods and sauces accesible 14 hours a day, then Pelicana is most definitely the place for you.
Ordered the half spicy chicken with medium-spiced marinate. What I got was a box of fried doughs with a little bit of chicken filling. Its almost like spicy, hardened doughnuts. Very disappointing, especially for a restaurant that touts itself as a premium chicken restaurant. Not sure about their other menu items, but a very bad fist impression wont let me order from them again.Sorry.
Very cool spot in Queens. This place has 48 different types of fried chicken.Food:They use fresh oil every day and organic chicken! My favorites are the Boneless Snowing Cheese and spicy chicken.Service:The staff was great, very attentive and helpful. They had finger protectors on hand to eat the chicken. They look silly, but very helpful if you dont want to get your hands full of sauce!
I ordered food through seamless. The delivery came two hours after I ordered the food (one hour later than the estimated delivery time on the homepage). Even the delivery came with something different from what I ordered, and the sauce didnt deliver. Of course, the undelivered sauce is what I paid for. So I politely asked me to resend mis-delivered food and, when it was delivered again, returned the mis-delivered food earlier. But the second delivery was even missing the sauce I had already paid for. Eventually, there was no sauce, so I couldnt eat for more than three hours.Eventually I had no choice but to send food back in four hours. And still I am waiting for a refund.
Delicious, the service here is amazing, they are known for their BONELESS ORGANIC CHICKEN WINGS, what I suggest is get them naked (meaning no flavor) then getting the sauce on the side SOY GARLIC :) and ask the waiter what he/she recommends and from there you will be well taken care of.They have also have Mango Beer which is deliciously good, but keep mind you have to be 21+ years old and older. Also, keep in mind if you want to take food to go, the BONELESS CHICKEN WINGS are still great when you reheat them in the oven or toaster oven at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for about 10 minutes.Enjoy
I order 8piece grilled wings and it’s same size as the radish pickles... also $20 dollars for this amount of gizzards?I spend $50 dollar with this food include deliver tips worst experience with delivery,I understand the food looks as advertised but I think this is An acceptable
I came here with a party of 5 on a thursday night and we were immediately seated. I heard about this new Pelicana opening from a friend and new I had to check it out as I regularly go to their Flushing one.The decor is different from the Flushing location, but it works very well for the overall atmosphere and environment at this restaurant. They had Van Gogh paintings on the wall with dimly lit lights. Very clean place as well with excellent servers. They were always very attentive to our table, filled our waters once they saw it was running low, and made sure my party and I were well taken care of.On to the food. Honestly I feel like I dont need to explain much. Try it out for yourself and youll see why Pelicana has become my favorite Korean Fried Chicken place. (dont like korean fried chicken? They have other stuff on their menu!) But seriously, their chicken is steaming hot and extremely good and filling. My party of 5 ordered two whole chickens, a half chicken, and an order of fries and we were stuffed.Id highly recommend eating at any of the Pelicana locations as theyll ensure that you have a good dining experience and youll leave feeling full. Its worth it !
I wanted to like this place. Im a big KFC fan (Korean Fried Chicken), so I had high hopes for this place. The vibe is laidback with the look of a bar or pub. The beer selection was just okay, not fitting the feel of the place. There are TVs on the wall playing KPop music videos, which I love, because the production value is always outstanding and the music is very catchy. They also played the music from the videos some of the time then switched to dance music, not related to the videos. The wait staff was friendly, though our waitress was a bit pushy with getting me to like Pelicanas page on Facebook. We ordered a Wings with half marinated and half crispy style. The marinade was too sweet for me and off putting. The crispy wings were better but nothing special compared to other KFC places in the area. The accompanying hot sauce was definitely spicy and added a lot of flavor to the wings. The Fries and Onion Rings were just okay. The food from Pelicana was more on a fast food level and was nothing great. Although we took home leftovers, and the chicken was much better the second day, the flavor was better and the chicken was surprisingly juicy. If I wanted real good KFC, I wouldnt go here again.
My bf and I decided to come here for dinner after craving Korean fried chicken. As local flushing-ers know, there are many fried chicken places in flushing all within a 5-10min drive from each other. What makes pelicana different from other places have to be their service. From the moment we walked in, to the second we walked out, we were warmly greeted and left with our tummies happy. Shout out to our server, Kevin, who was phenomenal! (Thanks for answering the questions we had about the sauces and for welcoming us tonight). My bf ordered the soy wings and I had the pelicana special in elementary spicy- between mild and hot. The wings were perfectly fried and full of flavor. It wasnt drenching in sauce nor was it dry. The chicken was hot and ready to eat! I also tried the soy wings and they were really good! I would say the soy wings are not as saucier as the pelicana sauce- so if you dont like saucy, the soy wings are perfect.I also had their grapefruit-ade. It was refreshing to have with the fried chicken. Also, for those lightweights- this contains 1% alcohol, enough to make you seem cool to drink and eat but not get flushed. Thanks pelicana for a great experience! Cant wait to go for some more!
Ive been here at least twice and can guarantee you a great time. Theyre not just all about chicken, as they also have entrees to go along with your chicken feast. Of course, the main attraction is the organic, free-range chicken. They boast the freshest oil imaginable to fry the chicken in, and they dispose of it daily. The chicken comes in many variation, boneless, whole, wings and a countless number of flavors. I like cheese ppurio and marinated. The winners are most definitely the frozen beer (pitchers). Mango and grapefruit are my fav. Beyond that are the usual suspects, like flavored soju (lychee, citron, etc). If youre feeling adventurous like most Asians are, try the gizzards in spicy marinade. This restaurant is anybody and everybody, not just locals. The staff is amazingly friendly and hospitable. As with most Korean establishments, a convenient ringer/button is used to call attention to the staff to take your order.
My all time FAVORITE place to grab a bowl of korean-chinese food. I have been to A LOT of korean-chinese restaurants since I was younger and I have never tasted better noodles than at Chinese House. Their noodles are made in the restaurant and the sauces are authentic and fresh. I also love that they have the mixed dish of the jjajjangmyun and jjampong. Both are really good! I also always get the sweet and sour beef. They use good cuts of beef and the crispiness is just right. The only thing I have to complain about is that they are only located in Queens and I live in Brooklyn but whenever I go to Queens, I stop here for lunch/dinner.
My friend took me here, I was so surprised that they had this place in this neigborhood but I really really liked the chicken and the fact they change their oil everyday, and I think they use cage free chicken, but the price was not crazy, I would definitely recommend it.
Worst fried chicken place I’ve tried, I order a whole chicken hot and spicy, and some wings with soy sauce and garlic, the wings were completely burnt, the only reason I did not call or go myself to complain is because I live all the way in Staten Island, bad that I did not check when I picked the order, I hope you see this and contact me, really bad seriously

2022-07-12Queens nowadays everyone closes so early weekdays, Pelicana at 162 is the place to be, yes, you have to wait longer to get the food, but it means very fresh, made to order THE BEST Korean Fried Chicken, the KFC of Asia, also many choice of flavored Soju and interesting cocktails to intrigue your taste bud

2022-04-16(2 stars about 4 years ago, with dine in)5 stars in 2022, with take out.Avg 4 stars for now.Their cried crispy wings are the bestest!! Honey garlic is slightly spicy. Spice level 3 is a KILLER (still delicious)! I recommend purchasing lower spice level, then ordering spice level 3 sauce on the side to try it out, if its your first time.

2020-11-27I drive past this place everyday, and today I decided to give it a try. Went there with my wife and kids and really enjoyed the experience. We ordered 2 Spicy Chicken burgers, Original calamari, and Original Fried Wings. The food was delicious, and the service was great. We will definitely come back to try more of the other items on the menu.

2018-12-01I thought their chicken was good but not the best. I really love Korean fried chicken and have gone to many restaurants that offers this. And I must say I wasnt all that impressed by Pelicana. Their wings are larger than what you would find at other places but I find they drench it with too much glaze. I ordered the soy garlic wings and it had way too much glaze. Good thing they give you complementary pickled radishes to help cleanse your palate. I also had their fries which was decent. The food comes out from the kitchen very slowly so be prepared to wait. Also I find the prices to be somewhat high. They do offer lunch combos during the week that is priced more decent. Overall Im not sure I would come back anytime soon. There are many Korean chicken places along Northern Blvd that Ill probably go to first.

2022-07-10New online ordering system is a train wreck. Went inside to pickup and no order. Maybe the girls should get off there phones and pay attention to alerts or check the system every so often.

2022-01-03I often order from this place since it is close to my house. Their boneless chicken is pretty good but i am always leaving this place with a frown because of the service i receive from here. When I called to make an order a female young employee picked up and she hung up while i was talking to her about the order. I get that it gets busy in the restaurant but as a customer it ruins the experience with ordering food because i never felt pleasant when I dined in too. I hope the management can focus better on the service.

2020-03-07Disastrous yet poorly managed delivery orders.First and foremost, their chicken is great. Its the very reason why I have been ordering from them through delivery after they either forget 1 or 2 item (yes this includes a whole order of a chicken as well) within the past 3 months, 4 times out of 7.Forget that the credit they saved on my account was never applied when they checked. The final pull on the plug was when I lost my composure and called them and was told that theyre bound to run into convoluted process of managing orders through apps such as doordash.I immediately replied to the staff that the past 3 mistakes on their part all involved in a phone delivery order. Its a complete abhorrent incompetence for a restaurant to consistently provide poor quality in service without a solution other than the a credit for future order (which is never processed either).Im sure the dine-in option would offer a much better experience to an extent but a 50-50 chance of a shot on a take out order is just asking for trouble. You will also notice that there are handful of other reviews that criticizes their mistakes in fulfilling the delivery orders.

2021-12-24Listen. Pelicana is one of the most expensive chicken joints in town. You cant serve this (photo) size and charge me 2 bucks per wing.
