I bought a used Bernina sewing machine from this shop and couldn’t be happier. I couldn’t afford a new one. They have a stellar reputation for quality, honesty and service. I got an excellent value on a high-end machine with an embroidery attachment. It is such a relief to be able to visit a certified Bernina shop nearby and even receive a demonstration on how to use and care for the machine. Usually, you have to ship the machine to a factory at your own expense to be serviced. I appreciate the personal connection and the fact that this business is locally owned. The staff are pleasant, courteous and knowledgeable. I’m sewing all kinds of creations, including curtains and dresses for my granddaughter, on my Bernina now. I’m confident that it will last for many years. I highly recommend Penn Yan Sewing Machines.

These people are amazing and have fixed my old singers and my Kenmore’s.. They also sharpened my sissors. They have a great selection of machines new and used. They also have a place to donate quilt books and donate money to pick used patterns.. They also have lots of needles, thread and feet and tools for sewing and quilting..They would get 10 stars if I could give them that many!! They are well worth the drive!! Great people!!!!

I’ve been taking my machines to Penn Yan sewing for over 20 years! They are the most amazing machine repair shop and dealer! An hour and a half drive is worth the miles! 5 stars is not enough!

We were camping in the area and I am an RV Quilter. My Bernina Nova had a capacitor burn up while we were camping near Ithaca. I called Penn Yan Sewing and Harvey told me if I brought it over, he would fix it while I waited. He replaced both capacitors and charged me a whopping $ 10.00 (ten dollars). I bought a few nice notions that they had on the wall. I highly recommend this shop if you have a sewing machine of any type that needs repair or are looking for a new or used one. He has many.

Had embroidery machine fixed in less than a hour. Certified repair places could fix it. Almost 3 hour drive, fixed for $25.00. Place is great.

After taking my Husqvarna Viking Designer SE in for repairs 3 times to the approved repair services and bringing it back home still not repaired 3 times, each time being charged the standard fee to clean and repair of around $130, I drove 3 1/2 hours to Penn Yan. I wasnt ready to give up on this machine yet. WOW is all I can say. The gentleman there took a look under the stitch plate, opened the cover next to the stitch plate, replaced the cutter which was chipped and snagging thread, replaced a missing felt pad, and closed a cover (improperly placed on the front of the machine by the so called approved H-V repairman) all for a fee of $10, I was on my way in less than 15 minutes. I truly cant believe how fast he diagnosed the problem and fixed it. Like Magic.THANK YOU PENN YAN SEWING MACHINES!

I drive an hour just to have them work on my machines, and have been doing so for 30 years. They are very knowledgeable, and can fix any problems! I wouldn’t go anyplace else.
