Pep Boys in other cities:
Do yourself a favor stay away from here was there today and got a price for tires while I was getting service I knew the person was overselling but thats usual in pep boys after I left called the other pep boys in massapequa and got the same tire size the quote from the other store was $800 cheaper and its both pep boys that is disgusting and let me just say they were trying to upsell me while I was getting service too I had to say Im not interested eight times in a row
So I’m always having issues with my car every 3-4 years. Since I moved to Long island I can no longer go to family members that know how to fix cars. I have to rely on my people a pep boys because If Google don’t work out this is where i go. Today, I could have swore it was my starter or my alternator that wasn’t working. I tried to start it for 2hours & it never came on. I had it towed to this pep Boys and they said they would figure it out. I went about my day and right before closing they figured it out. Apparently I didn’t put my battery in right. I had purchased one the night before and didn’t screw one of the piece down. I thought it would be ok but... apparently not . Any way, they went through all that and didn’t charge me a arm and a leg. Nothing was majorly wrong with my car thank God
I would have liked to give a minus than any at all. I went to this location a few months ago and still today am be haunted by them first I was over charged for my service. Also while waiting in the waiting area for my truck I applied for a credit card to pay for the service. When I went up to pay I showed him my phone to pay unaware he for some unknown reason he had me sign for a different credit card. A month after I found this out they refuse to help and have ruined my credit and it is still unresolved because of his error.they are no help after mistakes they make
I gave my service twice to check the battery sign. Battery was replaced still battery sign light was on. I was told no new issues with battery. After 3 months car stopped while driving because of the same battery issue which needed new alternator. They didnt fix or intimate at both times when I left the car for service.I went through horrible situation which ended to towing the car.
The store is being redone inside and is a mess. There are piles of parts and boxes all over the floor. They barely have any oil filters. I used to love going in there to get what I needed and look around for goodies. Not anymore. There is no cashier anymore. You have to wait in line at the parts department to pay. It is very inconvenient. Especially when there are only one or two people helping. I hope it gets back to normal soon.
Scheduled a state inspection for 1:30pm. Arrived about 10-15 minutes early. Guy checked me in asked if I was waiting or dropping off. I told him I would be waiting. Anytime Ive gotten a state inspection its taken half hour 45 minutes at most if theres no issues with my vehicle. After nearly 2 hours I asked the guy at the counter what was going on and why it was taking so long? Response was, well its in now. But it takes a hour for safety and emissions tests and he was down technicians because of covid. Mind you half the technicians I saw were not wearing masks a majority of the time. When all throughout the building was posted how to keep everyone safe both customers and employees are required to wear face masks. At one point while waiting I stepped out to the parking lot and was almost run over by one of the technicians who was moving a car at a high rate of speed. Very annoyed and disappointed in the service. They used to be decent
I have been going here 20 years. Yes sometimes u find a new person but there is always someone to help, the managers throughout years def seem interested in helping customers and they have always had my part. There was one time about 15 years ago they gave me wrong alternator.
They created a new problem when they changed my oil. I never write reviews but I need to warn someone. I know absolutely nothing about cars which is why I go to places like this but don’t be like me! First off, despite my appointment I waited an hour and a half. I get home to find something hanging off my car? I think it’s called an oil pan? My dad said It’s destroyed from me driving like that so now I have to go back again:-) I work this morning and they’re STILL making me wait for a problem that THEY created. This is so unbelievably stressful and unnecessary. Not only will I never go there again, but if you value your car and your time you shouldn’t either.
Where do I start.. To begin I had to wait 2 hours for my tires to be changed. The following day my car started making a clicking noise from the front ( wasn’t making that noise before). I pulled over to check it out. Turns out my tires were never tightened. Called and spoke to the service manager and he said the tech that worked on my car was just learning. He showed up and tightened my tires he was shocked himself. He wanted me to take the car back to fix it. He guaranteed me that he would do the work himself. So I took it back and the same tech that screwed up the first time was back to working on my car again. WORST EXPERIENCE EVER !!! Thank god I didn’t hurt my self or someone else. Definitely doesn’t deserve a star. AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL TIMES!!
The last few times I needed help, the gentleman Anthony was amazing. Very professional, friendly and went way out of his way to help myself and my father. The other technicians that also were working were very friendly as well. If they didnt have something in stock they were going to go out of their way to get it or guided me on how to get what I needed specifically for my vehicle.
I have been going to this Pepboys in Bay Shore for about 3 years now to get my cars serviced. The staff here is very friendly and professional. I have mostly dealt with Anthoney, manager at the service counter. Anthony is extremely professional and knowledgeable. I strongly recommend this location for anyone who is looking to get their car serviced without getting ripped off.
I went to the Bay Shore Pep Boys for a New York state inspection. When I arrived, the person working the front desk was doing something on a computer, and it took about two minutes before he acknowledged me. In talking to him, it was clear his customer service skills were lacking. I gave him my keys and waited for the inspection to be done. While I was in the waiting area, one of the mechanics brought some paperwork to the front desk and for some reason, decided to pop a plastic bag he had in his hands, which made a loud noise, causing everyone in the waiting area to look up, since it surprised the customers. When the inspection was completed, I went to my car and was about to leave. I put the gear selector in drive and as I did this, the side of it broke off and came apart. There was nothing wrong with the gear selector before I brought it in, and I still cant figure out how the mechanic, who only inspected my car, managed to damage it. He denied being responsible for it, so I asked to speak to the manager. While waiting for the manager, another customer who had been there before me, came back after just leaving a few minutes before. He complained to the employee at the front desk that he was charged to fix a bolt that was stuck in his tire, only to find out after he left that it was still there, never being fixed. At this point, I couldnt believe all the things that were transpiring here. The manager eventually took a look at my gear selector and said he didnt have the parts to fix it, but that he could glue it back together, which he did. This seemed to fix the problem, since I havent had any issues with it in the past 2 weeks since this happened. The manager was helpful and pleasant, but this doesnt make up for the horrible experience I had here. I only came here for a New York state inspection and still managed to have something damaged in my car. I cant speak for any other Pep Boys location, but after my experience at Bay Shore, I cant imagine ever coming back here for anything, and recommend that no one else does.
Came in for inspection, as expected with a 15 year old car like mine they found a few things that I would need to replace or repair. I appreciated their honesty that the problems wouldnt stop it from passing, just that it would be need sooner than my next inspection. Due to that I agreed to 1 of 3 future repairs which was new tires. I have had tires replaced, balanced, and/or realigned in the passed and it took about 20 to 30 mins. This go around it took 3 and half hours. I dont understand what the hold up was as my car was brought in relatively quickly. I would recommend them for diagnostics but unless you either have nowhere to go or are able to drop your vehicle off, just have another mechanic execute the repairs.
Ive had my car serviced here a few times. The staff is genuinely helpful and wants to make sure that your car is taken care of while ensuring a quality price for their service. If youre in the area and want to get a quick oil change or ask for some professional vehicle advice, this is the place to stop.
Im a pretty regular customer and get most of my auto maintenance parts here but I was very disappointed today that their oil filter inventory for ALL brands was very low. Had to settle for a Champion version. I asked the parts desk why they were so low and they just shrugged their shoulders and said they just dont send any stock to us. I thought stores were responsible for ordering their own out of stock items? Guess Ill have to go to Walmart now?
Excellent service from Auto Service.I made an appointment by phone for the oil change on my vehicle, and they received my vehicle one hour before to my appointment. And I received a good discount and an additional courtesy service to rotate the car tires.I would recommend this facility to my friends and family.Great Service.
Went to several mechanics about a random check engine light. It would appear and disappear randomly. I got 4 different suspected issues from different mechanics but no one could guarantee me their repair would fix the issue. I stopped in at this pepboys for a final opinion. I spoke to a technician named Chris. He plugged his computer into the car and showed me the different sensors and how they were behaving. He told me the light could be a cause of my catalytic converter or the oxygen sensor. He explained to me that its a little hard to pin point the exact cause and understands why the previous mechanics i went to couldnt give me a definitive answer but he uses other methods to ensure he chooses the right method of repair. He explained to me how reading the temperatures at the catalytic converter and also reading the parameters the oxygen sensor was operating at could pin point the actual cause of the problem. He was very informative and the problem was fixed. saved a lot of money. Thanks a lot, will be referring friends to this technician.
I give A LOT of 5 star reviews but this location was not the very best. It is such a big store, it almost feels like there Should be amazing service here. Man at the service counter for my 9:30 am appointment asked me if I wanted wipers. I didnt want them, but when it was time for me to check out, he rang me up for wipers. Of course we cleared it up and he voided them off. Not to mention I was already there for almost 2 hours for just an oil change & tire rotation. The wipers were a simple mistake and the communication was slim to none, but as I started out with saying, this location seems very busy and being such a large place with what seems like everything you need, I feel like the service should be Very Very Well. It was Just Service. Might stick to 5th Ave & Pine Aire location for my services.
Excellent professional service from the employees at this location. Chris was awesome repairing my car. Great work. Anthony, Katherine and Martinez were very friendly and helpful with customer service. Would definitely recommend this Pep Boys location for your auto needs.
Dont expect the staff to be knowledgeable. A good place to buy parts. Ive made the mistake of trusting their service team too many times for it to be a coincidence. In my experience with them their trend is to create new problems and damage to my vehicle as a free service. Plus its hard to get them to admit any fault as their own. The wait times are also and proportionate to the work being done. I only trust them for great readily available parts, an oil change or new tires. They even managed to damage and strip the wires coming from my under the hood fuse panel causing a short, changing my battery. Parts, oil, tires. Thats about it pepboys.
Nice store, plenty of products to choice but customer service sometimes awful.Went couple of weeks ago to have my vehicle aligned and the experience was obnoxious, I did the appointment online and specifically check the box that it says that I was gonna wait there till the vehicle was ready, I understand that alignment requires time but what it really aggravate me is the personnel they have in the repair shop that simply don’t care at all about customers, beginning with the girl at the front desk that doesn’t know anything about cars or maintenance, rude and missinformed about the job she’s doing, the mechanics, young guys too, smoking, talking or texting on theirs cell phones, making the waiting time extremely and absurdly excessive, they simply don’t care, and that’s the second time that I have been thru all this same situation, after waiting for a ridiculous three hours they told me that they could only align the two front wheels because there was a problem in the back suspension, why make me wait all that time to tell me that? The girl at the desk want me to schedule another appointment because the mechanic was about to leave and he didn’t have the time to fix it, obviously the price for the repair and alignment went up too.I talked to the store managers, they try to solve the situation and were very professionals, but they still need to make changes about the personnel they have in the repair shop, they should hire serious and knowledgeable people in that area, customers want solutions and answers, hope some day they can fix this issue that it has been bothering me for years, mean time I will have to go somewhere else like Midas, Firestone or Mavis for the maintenance of my vehicle...
My husband is a car guy and is always maintaining not just our cars but the rest of our familys cars so needless to say, he spends a lot of time at auto part stores. Last night, when preparing to leave on a trip he realized a fuse blew and he would need to replace it immediately in order for us to leave. He arrived at this store by 8:50pm (store closes at 9pm) to find the doors already locked and the cashier already counting out the register. Id like to add that this is the 2nd time weve run into this situation. I understand everyone hates last minute customers, but it is horrible customer service to close your doors before the posted time. Well be bringing our business to Advanced or Auto Zone from now on.
Hack mechanics. Beware. Had them do a tune up at 100,000mi on my chrysler 300. Car had a random misfire ever since. Now at 200,000 I did the tune up myself an found multiple mounts an bracket bolts on intake manifold were never re-installed and 1 coil pack had a burn through hole that should have been replaced if they bothered to inspect which is standard proceedure. Typical if non-professionals i guess. $400 to change 6 spark plugs. Joke
Ugh. Horrible. Came to have my engine light checked and they were supposed to call me when they were done and let me know the code. No call after 3 hrs so i called and they said Car was done. I went and they told me the code and also my bill for the work they did. They should not have done any work without my approval. How were they to know I could afford it? They told me they changed my oil and also filter which my brother who is a mechanic says filter was not changed. He raised hell to the manager and I was refunded which was great and why they get 2 stars. I just feel they have shady business practice and I will never return here for a damn thing.
I was out pricing a part for my car, I should have turned around when I saw a fight start in the parking lot, however these things happen, the fight got broken up and I kept going. I walked into this place and it is dirty I do not want to touch anything. I was surprised that i was asked if i needed help almost right away by a very nice employee. He took me over to the location of the parts and I found the one i was looking for, it was 4 times the price of any place i looked, 5 times the online price. I asked for a manager to see if we could do anything about that, i went to pull out my phone and show him the pricing and he said it did not matter, the price is the price. and walked away. This will be my last time in this place.
I took my car there, for the first time ever, for a simple service: 2 new tires, an oil change, and a wheel rotation. I arrived at opening and I was one of the first few people there. At first, the cashier tried to charge me $100 for each new tire. When I asked if there was anything a little cheaper, he said no there isnt without even checking anything. It wasnt until another mechanic overheard me, and insisted that there was a cheaper alternative and it costs $72 each, which I accepted. After I gave the keys and got the receipt for the services ($320), the cashier assured me that I would have the car back in an hour or two. I never pressured them at all because I wanted the work done right. Six hours pass by, and I havent heard word about what was going on. So I call the store, only to be put on hold for 15 MINUTES, then the cashier tells me they just started working on my car NOW. Finally, three and a half hours later, they called me saying I could pick up my car. When I came back to settle up the bill, I was initially surprised that they tried to charge me almost $500 for everything. I showed my original receipt, and said it was suppose to be the listed price there of $320, plus I had a coupon for a small discount. The cashier hit a few buttons on the keyboard and the price magically got reduced down to $300, the price I originally anticipated for all the labor and services. I dont know what they were trying to pull here, maybe they saw that I was a first time customer when they entered my data in their customer computer system, but I felt I was trying to be ripped off. I usually have a great mechanic that Ive been going to for years, and I just happen to see that Pep Boys always has deals on tires, so I decided to try them out instead. Biggest mistake ever. This goes to show you that you should stick to what you know. I will NEVER take my car to another PEP BOYS again!!
After having two cars serviced here, I find their prices to be very reasonable, their diagnostics honest and the wait times a bit below average. Pep Boys always has some coupons on their web site (Synthetic blend oil change and free tire rotation for $17!!!) and if you belong to their Rewards club, you earn points and get deals in the mail monthly. My only qualm is that the service desk is often understaffed for the amount of work these guys process and the waiting room is pretty dark and dingy. Best to wait in your car outside til they call you.
Pep Boys has everything you need for your car, which is the only plus. Their service center absolutely stinks. Theyll rip you off at any chance they get. Their service desk people arent the least but friendly. I actually did have a very nice young girl as my cashier one time. Their prices always seem to be retail, offering very few quality sales. At least on the stuff I need. I still go there for parts, but I mind my own business and wont ever take my car there for work.
Ive dealt with pepboys on several occasions. First, its always helpful to be a friendly consumer :). Every time I visit, the staff have been friendly and help me get the best deals for my budget. I would say communication needs to be improved in-house however, Ive had great communication with staff, both desk and mechanics.
Dont go to this pep boys if you dont have to. The staff is very lazy they are always on thier phones instead of helping customers. They lock thier doors more then 5 minutes before the new posted close time. Staff is also not very knowledgeable of the products they sell. I live close by and frequent here and most times are like this I have slowly been using auto zone more and more. Sad because I like the store its self hate the staff choice.
I called the service department 12 times and No one was there to pickup the Phone. And yesterday i went to the store and made an appointment for Today 02/05/2020. I was there around 11:00am. And the Guy at the Front dest said his Technician called off today. SERIOUSLY? You have only one Technician ?Bad Customer Service. HIRE MORE PEOPLE PEP BOY.
I brought my car to Pep Boys to see what was wrong with it. I made appointment first, they told me they were going to order a part to fix it. It was 12:30pm and I still didnt have an answer. 2:30pm the mechanic came to me saying that they couldnt order that part and telling me that the problem was something completely different, but already they had changed a piece that my car needed without telling me. 3:30pm I had to argue with a lady and a man at customer service, they were very rude. I still dont understand why they have people like that, I would never come back to that place. I had to select one star to post this review, but they dont deserve any.
They did good work, but the kid behind the counter was too busy bullshitting with a customer instead of getting my paperwork in for my brake job. A lot of trash talking of another employee that werent there, too.The mechanic was professional and worked fast once he got the job.
Went here for an inspection and they told me I had to replace my wipers in order to pass, no problem. The mechanic breaks my wiper arm and they didnt have a replacement handy so I had to come in the next day so they can fix this for me.I call the manager early in the morning to make an appointment to have the arm fixed,I come in, wait 2 hours for the manager to tell me that I need to go to a junk yard to buy the part. Needless to say I protested and had it replaced for free cost me 3 hours. When I inquired how long it would take, a person behind the desk said it could take days and walked away. Very shady place wouldnt recommend to my worst enemy.
If i could give this store zero stars i would. Got new tires in Nov 2 already blew up and when i brought it to a different place they said tires were installed improperly. I couldve flipped my car and killed myself and my family as well as someone else. Please dont get your tires there. I have filed a compliant with corp because the store said they cannot help me
Products? Yes. Service? Never. I have been screwed over 4 times. They took out my TPMS sensor when I got a tire rotation; they killed my battery so I couldnt start my car right outside the store!; sold me a $90 for $105 and claim they are the cheapest; I wait an average 2 hours every time, even once for 4 hours; they lifted my car from the wrong part and causes my car to slide to a side and dented the under-unibody. The staff doesnt seem enthusiastic at all. I told them I would write a complaint about this store and promise never to come again for service. I came back to get tire shine and I noticed new people all around, and when speaking to the new general manager, she said the previous staff has had multiple reports of bad behavior and service, so she said we are all from Lindenhurst and they original people I had to deal with are in another store. So if you see a service cashier named Mike with an eyebrow piercing or a technician named Bob, you bet you are about to receive some of the worst service of your life.
I just want to say how dedicated the service dept is. I pulled into Pep Boys about 15 min before they close and John and Martius worked on my car until 10:45 pm. They would not let me leave until my car was working. I would recommend these guys in a heartbeat. You never find dedicated workers like that anymore.
I was at the Bay Shore location a few weeks ago, I caught a flat the evening before. I have an Elantra with a tire pressure monitoring system that lets me know when my tires are low on air and a portable air compressor to fill them until I can get it to tire shop for repair. Saturday morning my husband and I walk into Pepboys and ask if the tire can be repaired they said no that we would need a new tire. I purchased a tire that was $72 plus mounting and balancing and labor fees for a total of $106 mind you we only brought the tire not the car. We told the associated at the desk that the monitoring gadget is embedded in rims of tire and if they could handle the job without jeopardizing the gadget we were told it wasnt a problem. We asked how long it would take they said a few hours so we said we would shop around then and were ready to go across the way to Mavis, should have trusted out instincts. Sure enough now he tells us oh they can do it now and it will only take 15minutes. So we said ok and they took the tire to the shop. Five minutes later we hear our name being called, knew it could not be good. The mechanic the supposedly head mechanic ask if we drove on the flat and our answer was absolutely not, He said the monitoring gadget snapped aka broke and tried to assure us that it came in that way not that they broke it. Till this day today we are sure they broke it. Now we have to pay another $80 and he felt so bad that he did not charge tax or labor to replace it. He replaces it and reprograms the system so all four tires to be in sync. Said to mount tire and drive for ten minutes straight and warning sensor light should go off well that didnt happen!! now another trip back to them after an hour of driving straight he tell us that its not working that we would need to order another one through our dealer have them program it and bring it back to them to put on and they would refund our money for theirs. More running around no way. My husband told them to just take it off and refund him his money. He later called the dealer bought the part that was in stock for $28 , put it on and reprogrammed it himself with his own diagnostics scanner and voila the problem was fixed and he is not a mechanic. Never again will i have Pepboys even change a screw.
They call themselves certified technicians yet they cant diagnose or properly repair an Air Conditioner problem. The only thing ithey are good for is to charge customers for half (if you can even call that) repairs. Brought my car for AC repair because it was not cooling they charged me $170 just to tell me that they thoughts the problem was a compressor which was bought from them, a day before, when i told them this, they just said i would have to take my car to the dealership since they had all the original equipment (who does that) i thought you guys were equipped and had certified technicians to perform the job. In conclusion they could not diagnose the problem with my AC and were unable to fix it, but you bet they sure charged the $170 for the work performed Thanks Pepboys for ripping me out $170 and still leaving me with the problem and clueless about the issue; because they also had no idea. DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR HERE.
After bringing my car to the Cadillac Service dept across the street and them telling me there was nothing wrong with my car, I went right over to Pep Boys and asked them to take a look. I have always trusted Pep Boys, I just usually go to the one closer to my house.Andrea greeted me, listened to me, and made me feel confident in thier ability to help. When I came back, after grabbing a bite to eat, Anthony was there and so attentive. Shortly thereafter, the tech came back with an answer!!Crazy how Mike at Cadillac service says, Taking your car to Pep Boys is like taking it to McDonalds...well, who managed to figure out the problem?!? Pep Boys!!After that, I was told by Mike at Cadillac service that it was covered under my warranty. The next day I brought my car back to Andrea and Anthony to have the work done by Pep Boys. Anthony spoke to the warranty company and low and behold, not covered under my warranty!! Thanks again Cadillac Service dept! However, I still needed to get my car fixed! Anthony and Andrea walked me thru the rest of the process, got the parts needed, and I was on my way! My car sounds like its old self again! I will definitely be a repeat customer to that particular Pep Boys! They go above and beyond and thier techs are on point!!
Brought my car to them for simple front brakes. Brought my car to be serviced for other reason and the auto repair guy specifically asked WHO worked on my brakes because now there is a problem with the Master cylinder because the guy fixed them INCORRECTLY. Now costing me over 900 to fix!!
Had my oil and coolant changed before going back to work. Im a teacher and was off during the summer. After they changed the fluids the coolant leaked and my car over heated. They said the plastic water pump part was rotten. I think they broke it. I had to pay $175 for the repair. Now my oil is leaking. I will not go back to the Pepboys in Bayshore NY again. They cant do simple fluid changes.
I don’t recommend this place at all especially for auto work.employees looks like they are just here to kill the time.guy was eat franch fries and was on computer.I wait 25 minutes then i left without oil change.moreover they telling two hours for oil change. dont waste time and money.
DO NOT EVER GO TO PEPBOYS! This review deserved NO STARS! They do not know what they are doing. We went in to get a simple A/C issue fixed weeks ago waited for hours to finally get told about what was wrong they apparently fixed it we paid the amount after haggling with them soo they were trying to pull a fast one & get more money. They also tried scamming us for over $700 for the A/C Compressor. We decided & went to a REAL MECHANIC to get it checked out. The part they originally replaced did not even need to get changed. Pepboys are mediocre they do not know what they’re doing. Do not spend your money here to get your car ruined.
I had a great experience at the Pep Boys in Bay Shore, NY! Luis and Lorenzo went more than the extra mile to help me with my problem. They came out to the parking lot and pulled my battery out for testing. Turns out the battery was ok.....the troubleshooting continues! Thanks guys!!!!
Been there today (Saturday 5th of September) to get inspection. Spent 30 minutes in the line and heard, that they cant do it today, because they already have two more cars... It happened around 4 oclock, while they are working till 8. So the question is - why so slow?! Just too lazy and unprofessional personnel... Just went to the Mavis and did my inspection in 30 minutes!
Awful customer service , this man , he looks like more than 50 year old , white hair, im not sure if hes the manager. Hes really disrespectful , it takes too long just to ask if Your car will be in there for another 4 hours !!!! Is unacceptable that they treat People like that we are not animals and second of all the way he speak to his own employees .he yelled them in from of me !!! Really disappointment .... If I could have him -1 star I will do it ....
Generally not helpful.Called ahead and asked if I could have my rotors turned. They said yes. Took rotors off my car and brought them in only to find out they only turn them on the car. That means they have to charge labor get to the brakes to do a brake job. Took rotors to Budshore Napa instead.
Terrible service first off I brung my truck to this place thinking that they were real mechanics this place is straight fraud they tried to charge me $1400.00 for Alternator and brakes and doing 2 rotors. no work was done just changed my battery for 1000$ they said they was giving me a good price they took off 400$ I broke down as soon as I left on the highway my system in my car was still saying i need an alternator I had a mechanic and a tow truck come out the mechanic tells me it’s a bad alternator after I just paid these people 1000$ to fix it.

Hello Pep Boys! This shout out is for Pep Boys sunrise highway Bayshore!I got stranded and got to their store 1 Minute after closing everything was being turned off but I told them the situation and they let me in to buy a can of Fix a flat and made sure all was ok!GREAT TEAM FRIENDLY AND CARING AND HELPFUL!
Terrible very unprofessional took more time than needed, they destroyed my carpet they did not protect I had to have them clean it, then they took me through the bay where they do the work to bring back to my car and I took a bad fall and their greasy floor never will I go back again. I thought that because it was a national store they wouldnt play you. However, I went yesterday to see if they could replace a tire in the afternoon. I had class so I couldnt do it then. The guy told me I should change the 2 front ones that were 106 for labor and material each and that they had them and when I went the next morning another guy said they only had some that were 150 and change for labor and material. I said okay because I had already wasted my morning.
Went to this location to exchange a defective rear brakes I had purchased a yr ago, yes a yr ago, Wagner severe duty pads that I paid good money on and the manager KAT, did the exchange with no problem and smiled, and was friendly, after the last pep boys in lindenhurst, new york, was worthless and didnt even want to look at my pads,
Josh the service manager of Bay Shore NY attend to our urgent needs at 8:00 morning. He aided my husband and myself and brought us to safety as we were on the side of the road. With such urgent and kind care I would recommend many to frequent at PEP Boys in Bay Shore NY. Kudos to Josh the service manager.Yvette Finlay Gaines
They deserve any star went there to get my tire fix last night,on the internet it said that the store open until 9pm when i get there were three of them one the guy told me the after 7pm the don’t fix tyre so they don’t do anything after 7pm then close the dam store at 7pm why open until 9pm so they just sit there and get two hours pay doing nothing.
Tuesday Morning the snow was coming down . My wiper blades had popped off and i was unable to see , I came into this pep boys 1846 5th Ave, Brentwood, NY 11717 and the Pedro said how they was broken and he could not place THEM BACK ON . I had to continue my drive to Commack with not being able to see . ALMOST GETTING INTO AN ACCIDENTOn my way home i went into the Pep boys which have been going to for over Seven years . 1321 Sunrise Hwy, Bay Shore, NY 11706Hector was extremely busy found time to take 10 seconds place the blades back on and add air to my rear tire . This is what makes me come back and back and back ,
I would have chosen 0 instead of 1 star...I was there for almost 4 hours just for a battery change, I came first and left last...sooo slow, and I am not blaming it on the mechanics, but the managers and the front desk people, and the indian dude in the front desk wanted me to give him a tip, I gave the tip to one of the mechanics who solved my problem and not to this shady guy...would not recommend this place.

2022-02-02I have been going to pep boys for a while now. Recently their service became terrible. A month ago I took my car for an oil change and they damaged the plastic that goes under the engine. Today I took my other car to them for same reason and tire rotation. When I got my car back I noticed the tires were not rotated so I went back to the store and asked them to do it. They said they won’t do it today because it’s only one person working and I need to come back in 4 days. Wow! After I came home I noticed this big spill on the engine. Unbelievable!! I don’t know if they are over worked or what but that’s really bad. Don’t think will be going back anymore. Very upsetting!!

2022-03-27Ben and Brian were complete professionals. I tried fixing the valve stem on my tire and completely screwed it up. I brought it in and they fixed it right away. They were knowledgeable, prompt, and honest. I will definitely be coming back.

2022-07-02Im writing this review 2 yrs after visiting, I hope they changed for the better, but I doubt it. Zero stars, went for state inspection w a appointment, waited 2 hrs and the crooks told me I needed brakes and rotors all-around. Trouble is I just replaced all my pads a few wks before and also measured my rotors for wear and they were fine. I dont think they even pulled A wheel. Waiting for their standard reply of; Sorry, we didnt meet your ....blah, blah, blah........

2022-04-15Waited 2 hours and 40 minutes (even with making an appointment) for an oil change and inspection. Upon failing my inspection I brought my car to a different shop where they called me saying that there was no way they removed/ rotated my wheels and changed my oil at this Pepboys. Ive been to other Pepboys locations before where I was in and out within an hour and they actually worked on my car. If you prefer to get ripped off in a sketchy garage this is the place for you.

2022-07-20Salmon who is the manager is very disrespectful to his worker, omg I was in shock when I hear the manner in which the employee(frank) just stood there dumb, no one deserves to be talking to like that while trying to make their honest bread!!!! Rubbish!!! Boycott pepboy !!!
