Raj the manager called me with a complete explanation of the work (brakes and rotors), costs and estimated time needed for the repairs I felt very comfortable having him proceed. When I came to pick up my car I had a discount coupon that I presented to him. He told me he could give me a better price than the coupon!These guys are honest, customer focused and they do great work. I will never go anywhere else for my maintenance and repairs.

They messed up twice with me and it wont be a third , Last year had my car in for a oil change . They didnt tighten a oil plug and almost seized my engine, i had to refill the oil myself to drive it back to the shop just so they can say they didnt tighten it . Yesterday i called to see if they can take my car they said they were booked for the day but to come at 8am . Just so i can make sure i keep my piece of mind i decided to make an appointment online for 8am . Of course on the way to the shop this morning I get a call on the way to the shop that they had to reschedule my car because others got there first? So I guess it doesnt matter if I schedule an appointment or call the day before? Thanks for wasting my time
I don’t normally leave reviews but with the service I received I felt like I have to. These guys are phenomenal. I recently bought a daily commuter car and needed a few things done. The associates were fast, thorough, helpful and very informative. I will definitely be going here again. Thanks so much for the help. Such a relief to know there are good mechanics left.

Do not trust. I was told I needed new rotors and that my break pads were on the sensors and needed to be replaced. I just had them replaced 10k miles prior and knew what the mechanic was saying was highly unlikely. I brought my car in for a second opinion. They told me my rotors are fine and the breaks are just about halfway warn and nowhere near the sensors. It seems a few of the reviews below show them trying to scam people and telling them they need new breaks and rotors as well. He also recommended I get new tires when I still have a few mm of tread depth left. Go to other Pep Boys locations in the area.
I came in got my car serviced the customer service rep Ray did a great job in keeping me updated on what I need to get done with my car. Overall my experience was good although they were busy they still found the time to help me out. Thank you again Ray!

Changed rear brakes and rotors (+$500) on my Rav 4 with an additional 1000 miles from lastYears inspection. This 2010 car with 44K mileshas undergone 4 wheel replacement of rotors and ceramic brake pads at 25K miles leading me toSuspect that the present work was unnecessary and that the boss (not the mechanic) has takenAdvantage of an elderly loyal patron. Shame onPepboys.
The employees in this store (new Hyde park) is very nice and mostly after you made an appointment, you don’t have to wait too long. Last time I went to Pepboy at bayside NY and I was there on time but 4 hours later my car still not start to fix yet. So I highly recommend this store. Nice ppl nice service
Great customer service, came in for a routine oil change and tire rotation. They got me the best promotion pepboys had at the time without even asking. Service was quick and the guys that work there was very knowledgeable. Will be going back soon to get my brakes done as they advised. Thanks guys!
2013 BMW X5 - Came in to have the brakes done and struts changed. This turned into a bigger job than anticipated. The guys made sure my truck was running properly and that I was satisfied. They provided me with many discounts and complimentary brake oil change.I will be switching Pep Boys locations and bringing all my business to them.
Made an appointment for 5pm. I got there at 4:40 and they told me the mechanics left already. All it takes is a simple call.

I came in with squeeky brakes, thinking it was my brakes that were worn and an alignment because of nyc potholes. The service reps. They were very patient and knowledgable. After looking at my car they found out the squeeky brakes were from a pebble and explained I did not need new brakes anytime soon. The overall experience was very professional. I was very nervous walking in, but the reps. They did a great job helping me feel comfortable , answering all of my questions and calming me down. They also did not take the opportunity to charge me for something I did not need and being honest. Thanks guys.

Update: the store did call me back as promised letting me know they have the tire. this time everything went smoothly.I had a confirmed appointment to change 4 tires, but when I went for my appointment, after waiting for 45 minutes, I was told they dont have all 4 tires at hand, and they will call me when they have them. Basically I wasted a trip and 2 hours of my time.
Sanjeev was great and very friendly. He helped me get the tire replaced under the warranty with a reasonable charge. I will definitely go back. Highly recommended.
Took our car early to get an inspection ONLY. They said we can leave it because theyre backed up and we can pick it up by 3. But then we get a call 30 minutes later and theyre telling us the transmission is leaking and the rack and pinion is off. The car wasnt leaking when we brought it to them!!! Took it to another mechanic and they said the transmission pan screws were tempered with and they came out so easily without needing to be forced. Now were having to fix it. NEVER leave your car here and let them just do the inspection, stay and watch what they do to your car!!
I finally found an auto repair shop that is honest and dependable. I recently had new struts and shocks installed as well as a cv axle replaced. The Manager, Raj, was great to deal with. The price we agreed to was the price I paid, nothing more. He never tried to sell me anything I didnt need. I definitely recommend this place and plan on continuing to take all my vehicles there for service.
Very disappointed in the overall experience.1. Not prepared for a scheduled appointment2. Did not have the pre ordered tires and was talked into another brand with the understanding that they would be available that day AND would cost the same. NEITHER of which happened .3. Failed completely to perform a requested oil change even though they kept my car an extra day.The overall experience with the sales department felt like bait and switch, so while I have no issues with the mechanics I will be thinking twice about leaving my car with anyone other than Jimmy.
My experience at pep boys in franklin square was great. Service was done in a good timing and my vehicle drove great afterward with no issue. Adel at the service desk did a wonderful job. I will definitely return in the future and will be recommending my friends and family to this location.
This was my go to place. I took all 3 of my cars there because it was close to my house. Recently I needed a tire $263. When it came time to pay, the bill was $353. They added all kinds of B.S.Also they said it would be ready around 11am. They never called. I had to call them and the car still wasnt ready. They never called me back. Finally, I call them at 6pm they tell me come in. I sit there for 1/2 hour while the counter person (not Jimmy) is handed my folder and tossed aside while he helped a customer (another 15 mins waiting) who was just to make sure he got a discount on a FUTURE purchase. One of the few honest shops out there. Went for to get four tires installed along with a wheel alignment. The shop didn’t try selling me anything I didn’t need. They were honest about everything and very hospitable. I wish I got their names but the two advisors at the desk a man and a woman were very professional. And to top it all off I was out of there in a little over an hour. Thanks again!
My overall experience at this Pep Boys was great. They look at my car and figure out the problem where as dealer couldnt. Costumer service was great. The wait wasnt too long and the service is very satisfying. I wish I could give more that five stars.
I dropped my car off and they did an amazing job. It was late in the day and rather then closing at 6 o’clock when they should have I told them I’m not from the area and I’m by my mothers house and I have to get back home with my new born child and they could have easily closed up shop because they didn’t have my part. But they called around, got the part for my car and stayed open for another hour JUST to get me and my family home. I’ll take my car there anytime and I thank them for going above and beyond to get me and my family home. You don’t find nice people now a days especially a mechanic haha! Thank you, boys!

The synthetic oil change was okay but the $30 coupon was lowered to 20 and then when asked if I had the service indicator on my dashboard I simply said yes. I had no idea until after the receipt was emailed that I was charged $8.99 for the technician to Simply turn off the indicators which I could do myself. Very sneaky very unhappy and tell all my friends not to go here.

First time I brought my car here from when they took over and they were nothing but liars and cheats said they fixed my ac unit and did a bunch of tests than 2 days later it broke again upon brining it back a regional manager happen to be there and looked at my car and stated those tests were never done in fact all they did was give it a charge and charge me over $200. When it was brought to the attention of the man who helped me he played it off like I misunderstood him. The place is a joke
Bought new tires in the fall from Pep Boys in Franklin Square. In April, one of the tire valve stems completely flew out of my tire while I was putting air in the tire. I drove to Pep Boys- thankfully I was less than a mile away- by the time I got there my tire was flat. Not only did they replace the valve stem for me in a timely fashion, but they also did not charge me for the piece- and it wasn’t their fault this happened! The problem was the tire valve caps must’ve been stolen off my tires and the weather ate away the tire valve stem. They also gave me 4 new valve caps!! Highly recommend!

I drove up from Kentucky to help my parents move. My Lexus 400hs coolant system was having issues. They looked at it, and showed me the issues, the labor process and how much it costed - very transparent. I just didnt have the time or the money and I needed to get back to KY. They were not looking at me as a customer, then they wouldnt care if I did not accept the repair. They genuinely cared about my situation. They topped the coolant, checked the oil, and gave me tips on keeping the coolant system healthy while driving back. They didnt even charge for the coolant they put in the car and the far more important consultation. Now, I hope I can find such group of mechnics in KY.

Had issue with front stabilizer bar link had it replaced by my local mechanic turns out was defective called today which is Easter Sunday and was actually open told me come down had me in out no time. Explained and showed me the part was defective. Replaced with new one and with warranty on the part with great price!!! Honest and reliable just wanted say thanks for taking time on a holiday to get me back on road safe!!!! Will return for alignment

The one star is being generous. I would never advise using pep boys for anything. They took 4 hours to do a oil change and charged 80 dollars, I had a recent old change and inspection together somewhere else and was told that my oil filter hadnt been changed in what looked like years since it was falling apart and they charged only 70 for both the inspection and oil change. All in all Pep Boys overcharged me, took 4 times as long to do one job that other ppl do, and didnt even do the job properly. If I could give negative stars it would be -5
I ordered a car part on line, and I don’t know if I fat thumbed the delivery store or what. But the part I ordered was shipped to the Franklin Sq. store, and I live in New Jersey. I called the store to see what could be done about getting the part. The manager Raj got on the phone with me and apologized as if he personally made a mistake. Raj informed me that they had the part and don’t worry about anything, he personally shipped the part to me that day. I offered to pay for the shipping and again he said don’t worry about it.I got the part this morning, what a pleasure dealing with these people.
It’s always a great experience taking my car to this location. The customer service has ALWAYS been outstanding regardless of who is at the counter and that’s appreciated. I highly recommend this Pep Boys location. Check it out !
Hands down this is the place to go!!prior to going to New Hyde park i went to Hempstead with an appointment, when i got there i was told my appointment was canceled with out my knowledge. (worst service rude and inconsiderate at Hempstead even tho i had an appointment and left work early for this). After i tried dealing with Elmont on the phone, the guy was rude and unbothered by my situation and left me on hold for over 30 min. In that time i went to New Hyde Park and was help by SHIV, not only was he genuinely concerned with my situation but his product knowledge was above and beyond. SHIV help me make the correct tire choice for my truck and had me out of the store with in 45 min, i will continue to go to pep boys in New Hyde Park from now on even if it is farther away from my house due to the out standing customer service provided by SHIV and the entire team.thank you very much!!!

I had a flat tire and it was a Saturday afternoon, given that most places were closed or charged outrageous fee for roadside assistance I was lucky enough to run into this location of pep boys who were fast, friendly and had me back on the road in less than a half an hour! Great service highly recommended!
I took my car there for an overheating issue and someone was able to look at my car right away. I was able to get my car back the same day and pricing wasnt bad, they worked with my budget. Manager and girl at the desk was very helpful

BEWARE. I remember when it was PJS they were good. But since pep boys took over it is the worst mechanic shop beginning with Mike the guy at the desk horrible attitude he thinks he can do whatever he wants with costumers cars i went there for inspection and did not pass and ended up paying more then 300 cuz they find out a bolt not working and changed a few lug nuts ..is not amazing??
Such a great place I had a screw through my aide wall on my tire and I went to my local pep boys in elmont and they couldnt replace it ,so I called this one and they were closing in 15 min and they were glad to replace it for me , the man at the front desk Raj was very professional, and a very pleasant person to speak with ,Im definitely gonna come to.this one for now on .
I thought I needed a tire, and it was an emergency, but they worked quickly and determined I only needed a patch. Great service and I really appreciated that they didnt look to have me buy a new tire when I really didnt need it!

I came here when my old car needed what I thought was a new battery. They were nice and helpful. We put a new battery in and it did not help and they did not charge me and they took their battery back.
Had my car towed there after a breakdown and they checked the car the next day. Their mechanics do not find any issues and didn’t charge for their time! I’ll be back for any future repair or maintenance.

2022-06-20Made appointment online to have a nail taken out of tire.Appointment time was 8am. I arrived a few minutes early. Was told there were a couple cars ahead of me, and mechanic not in yet.By 8:35 no mechanics had started working yet so I left.The employee who checked me in was friendly so I can’t fault him. But don’t offer 8am appointment if no one starts working at 8am.My time is important and I schedule it accordingly so I will not refer this business based on that.I can’t speak about the quality of work or pricing since I left without having work performed.

2022-05-26As I left the Northern Boulevard store, I called the Franklin store and a guy said to me if I get there by 12 noon, I said I could be there between 1 and 1:30, he said okay, and I arrived at 1:50 the guy at the front desk said I have one car in front of you, you would be next, I said not a problem, as I continue to wait, I went shopping in the stores across the street and had something to eat. Now Im seating in the store watching the news. I have three cars and I had wheel alignment before. At 3:15 PM I asked him at the desk how long I have to wait? As I observed no one was working on that particular vehicle on the lift for a wheel alignment, he came back and said another hour and a half. I said give me my keys,and I leave, as I was leaving I observe mechanics and couple of guys were standing around having a conversations. It is a small please, but it need Undercover Boss immediately. Unprofessional business

2021-12-31This Pep Boys (New Hyde Park) is by far the best on Long Island, NY. These guys are great, they replaced my front brakes, front rotors and calipers. I dropped my Jeep Grand Cherokee late morning and my vehicle was ready early afternoon. I drove my vehicle and it drives like brand new. Not one complaint, special thanks to Andrew who took care of me with great professionalism. I would definitely recommend this shop. You wont be disappointed.

2021-11-13My family and I have been loyal customers of PJs auto for years. When PJs sold to Pep Boys, I became a pep boys customer. I took my car here for a routine oil change and inspection in October 2021. I was informed that my car needed a new axle. I purchased the new axle ($1300). Six days later, Im driving on the parkway and several lights start flashing on my dashboard (including my check engine light). I bring my car back to Pep Boys and they tell me that they think it may need a new transmission now...but they arent sure. I picked my car up and proceeded to take it to the dealership. The dealership informed me that I do indeed need a new transmission and that I should have been informed that my car may need a new transmission after an axle is replaced prior to fixing the axle. Pep Boys never informed me of the possibility of needed a new transmission. If they had, I wouldnt have fixed the car and thrown $1300 away. I went here for a routine oil change and inspection and am now left without a vehicle. I wont ever visit another Pep Boys location again.
