I arrive at 7:45 am on Tuesday morning at the service gate, I was blowing my horn no answer then I went to the front on Northern Boulevard and start knocking on the glass checking the doors they were lock, as I continued knocking on the glass, I looked through the glass and I saw a guy walking around I continue knocking a little harder no answer, I when back to the service gate I start banging on the gate and blowing my horn back and forth. At 8:05 the service gate open up, and a guy said to me we open at 8 a.m I said your sign and the web said you open at 7:30. Then I said I need a wheel alignment he said I have eight cars in front of you, I call on Monday and the guy said to me if I get here by 7:30 will take care of you. Then the guy said to me they was in the back packing up tires so they couldnt hear me. ( really!!) You need to be an Undercover Boss or have an undercover representative to see how your guys are working, I noticed multiple stores are closing and my coworkers said they dont use your stores anymore. Thats not good...
I am very happy with this location for PepBoys.They are very honest in this place. The car dealer told me that there was something wrong with the cugar lighter and was going to cost almost $500 to fix and replace it. I brought my car to Pepboys and cost me only $50 dollars to fix the problem. They are very hinest
Don’t wastes your time to book on line appointment becas once you get there you reservation is no meaning to them especially if you get a flat tire to fix - too small money for them and hundred reasons to turn you off the booking. Bad bad professional attitudes and customers services
I do not recommend anyone coming here for a state inspection. They told me I had to change my rear rotors and brakes due to rust. There was no mechanical distortion or crack in the rotors. They wanted 500 bucks for this fix which I refused. They failed the inspection because of it, scraped my sticker off, and charged me the inspection fee. I went to another car shop that day and my car passed with no issues.
Shout out to Asif and Clifton for their superior customer service and keeping me from taking my Kia for a swim in the Hudson 😂 They listened to my concerns and found the solution after I have taken my car to other places who could not find the problem, let alone a solution.Thanks again, guys!
Went in for tires and they managed to scratch one of my wheel so badly. I had 4 perfect factory wheels before this. Not to mention my appointment is at 8am when they open. There were cars after me that also went in for tires and they left an hour earlier or even more. I didn’t leave the place until 11:30
I’ve been doing my own oil change and haven’t had any problems. Was feeling lazy n decided to have one done here. They used a oil filter that was causing a leak. Now I have oil all over the engine. As a result, I have to now pay to have my engine cleaned.I’ll stick to doing it myself.
I don’t recommend this location to anyone. I dropped off my Van at 10:19am today to do an oil change . I went back at 1pm to pick it up and it wasn’t even touched. Moreover, they lied on the receipt that they rotated my tire when they didn’t even touch the tires. I was right there when Carlos did the oil change. It took him literally 15 minutes. They had more than enough stuff but their service and commitment sucks big time. Please don’t waste your valuable time.
I had to get my tire changed and pep boys offered reasonable pricing on tires and tire installation. I scheduled an appointment the night before. I came in earlier and dropped my car off with Andre. I left my car with them and they said they will give me a call when it is ready. I received a text with a URL link showing the status of the service. Within 40minutes, I received a text saying my car was ready for pick up.Andre was personable and knew my name and which car I brought over. I was in and out in 5 minutes.
This service center is pretty bad. Besides not being noticed the staff are not a Pilar of customer service. You may not know who is working or who is hanging out because some employees don’t wear name tags or introduce themselves. I had a 5:30 appointment that they were unable to honor. No reason provided - don’t waste your time, save your frustration and visit another location or Try Mavis!
Had my MAP sensor replaced because thats what they said the check engine light came on for. A few months later the check engine light came back on for the MAP sensor. It was past the 90 day warranty so they refused to help me at all. Even to check it out they wanted to charge me another 100 dollars on top of the 350 I already paid for the MAP sensor.When I drove up to the garage the employees are terribly rude. You stand there and they do not acknowledge you. The employee by the name of Chris did not have a care in the world about my situation and since it was over the 90 day warranty by a few weeks, did not help at all.
The team at this location is very friendly and courteous and very informed regarding car repairs.The information I received was very detailed and I was made aware of any other issues that presented itself. No surprises.I find the team at this location is very transparent, which is why I have been a repeat customer for the last 15 years. Shomari M. really has exceptional customer service skills. I was having some trouble figuring out which oil/oil filter I needed and he really helped me out. It always makes a huge difference when you interact with people like him, he made my experience at pepboys stress free and pleasant. Im actually going out of my way to write this bc I seldom come across such excellent customer service.
Made an appointment for 12:00pm for tires and installment. I had to wait close to 4 hours just for that. Did they take an 45 - hour for each tire install? What are they doing there. I shouldve just gone to an ACTUAL car shop that treats your car with value and importance along with my time. Even on the website it says somewhere within 90 mins for everything to be done. But little did I know I was going to spend my whole afternoon there at pepboys. Waste of time and please for others with car needs, go somewhere else. Avoid this place at all costs.
About a month ago . I stopped by Pep Boys looking for scratch removal . But they were all out . A hole section was empty. When I asked about it . I also asked if there was in in the back . He said no we are all out . I was surprised. It is a Big store . They also fix cars as well . I havent been back yet . Simply because Ill been busy with other things ........ I will go back and look around . Hopefully they will have what I need this time .
Made an appointment for oil change and inspection. When I got there they said there are 6 people ahead of you. I said I have an appointment. They said so does everyone else. You have to wait about an hour. Complete waste of time specially that they were $10 more expensive than other places even with $20 coupon for the oil change. No wonder they dont give you the prices online. By the way when I got there first I pulled into the service area and said Im here for service and have an appointment. The guy said go find parking on the street and bring us the key. Avoid this place for service.
Poor in-store customer service. Employees not motivated to do the best and gave me a damaged item, while insisting on giving the customer behind me a newer looking identical product. She said that the item was set aside for me, which is nonsense. Ever heard of first come first serve? The poor service was at 9:30 Saturday, December 5.Also repeated poor online pick up experience. Last time they said my battery would be available after 6 PM same day. It took 4 days and also they close at 6 PM!
Scam. Dont go Pep Boys for any services. They are the worst tire shop i ever had. We went there 4 times with reservations in different days and keep telling us they dont have tires available to install. 1st time and 2nd time , they said they dont have tires. 3rd time, they quote me with high price for same tires, reason was that the tires promotion end on Sep.(which they lied about the price and availability of tires. they just want to sale high price ). so we purchased 4th time online and went there today, They claim that no tires available . WOW
Made an appointment for 12pm, arrived an hour early at 11am. Was told the wait time for my car to get worked on was an hour. I only came here to get 2 nails removed from my tire and patch it up. I waited 3 hours before my car began to get work done (so what’s the point of making an appointment?). People who arrived after me were in and out. Never coming back here again.
Two words: Rip Off. Came into the shop because my car was overheating, when I had no where else to go and not knowing exactly what was wrong. After waiting 3 hours just for them to look at my car, they told me it was going to be $500 to replace the thermostat housing of my vehicle, a job I’ve done multiple times on my car which requires taking just 3 bolts out - that’s $166 per screw. Thankfully they correctly diagnosed the problem, but after failing to convince me to stay “because my car won’t be able to make it out” (which it did), I drove it to a friends and I fixed it for less than $80. I’ve never seen such a blatant try to take advantage of someone - this is my first Google review, that’s how bad I felt like I was ripped off. Never again
This has to be the most convenient place to go for your automobile needs.They have a large selection of items to choose from.Thats like many other stores too,but what this place has is the best customer service.I was helped by Mark,who was extremely helpful and patient in describing all the items he had to fill my needsPlus if I really didnt need an item or it didnt fit in my car Mark didnt try to over sell me eitherAfter all was finished and I bought everything I needed I also met Veneshor was was Excellent as wellKudos to this Pep Boys great visit and I will be back
Bought a car battery in the store, went to the service shop for installation as their website says, since I was the first customer of the day thought it would be quick. I was told to wait few minutes, after 40 minutes, I was told that it will take another 30 minutes. There were 4 techs in the shop doing nothing just walking around and chatting have no regard for your time. Finally I asked one of them to see if he can help me sooner not only he refused, he was RUDE and obnoxious and I had to leave without the battery being installed and lucky enough Battery boost was not required from these lazy people. AVOID THIS SHOP IF YOU CAN.
Not enough mechanics for the amount of cars they service. Was told I would be in and out in 45 minutes-I thought reasonable to repair a flat tire and install a new battery. After an hour and a half waiting, I inquired how much longer and was told about 30 minutes! It was another 20 minutes. 45 min became almost 2 hours. I was given an apology and they made good with a pretty substantial price reduction. The work was satisfactory. The staff out back was friendly.
Why offer appointment times if you dont get seen even close to on time? Made an appointment for a diagnostic check Sunday at 11 pm after arranging childcare. Get there and ask approximately how long the wait is and were told an hr to an hr and a half, fine we kill some time. After an hr and 20 mins we ask how long more and told half hr. So wait again and then ask whats going on was told well we are only dealing with people with appts by which I state we HAD an appt at 11 PM just give me my keys. 2 hours of waiting for nothing and not even an apology just attitude. Never again, will take my business elsewhere.
Set up an appointment 2days ago for 12 noon. At 1pm I asked how much longer and was told it would be 130-145 before car would even be brought into shop. also was told if I wanted to have them document the old tire damage to be covered under warranty it would be even longer. I couldn’t wait even longer then already delayed so this my warranty claim was useless. Why make an appointment if Everyone who was before you are taken first even if no appointment
I’m so happy with Pep Boys services. They know how to make a customer satisfied. They have great work ethic and great customer service. This is my second time getting services from them, and let me tell you they are best in New York area. Plus they gave me a discount just for being a loyal customer.
My car got a flat at 7 PM a few blocks away... And I limped over. Will, Dave and the rest of the crew at the service department were busy handling am the scheduled appointments. They kept it overnight, and had a new tire changed by the time I had to get to work. $96 seems a little high, but totally worth it for the efficiency and pleasant staff.
Poor communication between staff and customers.. they promise to call you to update you about your car and never do. When you call the next day (a solid 5 times because they let the phones ring and ring, hoping you’d give up I’m sure), the car is simply ready for pick up. I also brought in my car because of a rattling noise which they claimed did not exist. Yet, as I’m driving home, lo and behold, there’s that rattle again. Poor customer service in general... like I said before, I called five times only to have the phone ring and ring with no end in sight. I’ll take my business else where next time. The workers are nice enough, which is why they get a 2 star but they really just don’t care. It’s sad.. I was a rewards member but no longer.
After wheel balance and tire rotation, my 16 year old car runs as smooth as silk on the road. Thank you so much for the amazing service! And it only took like an hour. (I should tip you, will do next time!) The sales associate at the front reception is very friendly and helpful.
The service department is very knowledgeable. The mechanics tell it like it is. What your issues are and the cost. What you can hold off doing and what needs to be done.The actual work done in a decent amount of time. Best to go early and leave the car or you wait. McDonald and a few eateries near by.The sales staff in relation to the service area are not all up on the cost and what is involved. In the past, they have rung up the bill incorrectly and missed a rebate item.When I called to see if I can get it rectified, I got the run around until I insisted to talk to a manager. They since have gotten rid of those folks and new people have replaced them.The next experience was much more smooth BUT I suggest you check your itemized bill on the spot.As for automotive needs, the store is stocked and runs sales too.Worth checking out. If you cant find it, ask. Its usually there somewhere.
I have been bringing my cars here for years. I have had exceptional experiences with Chris and Wilkins taking care of all my maintenance needs. I am not a mechanic so they always take the time to explain everything my car needs in very thorough detail. I am so appreciative of their honesty and their diligence. Thank you for all these years of taking care of all my vehicles needs.
Not a happy camper. They dont have prices on some items so you are guessing on how much youll spend. I had a rewards card which had money left but when the cashier checked there were no funds. I was told I had to call customer service. Previous rep said balance would remain for the next time. It wasnt.
These people are down to earth and real. Came for tires and they informed me of other issues I had put on the back burner. For general stuff, the prices are reasonable. Once you get to by the hour work, things start to hit the fan. Otherwise, this may become my regular maintanence spot.
So been having weird problems with my sisters car, thought for sure either alternator or a serious electrical problem.I generally dont trust most mechanics, had a friend in the business years ago and got a 1st hand look at some of the downright dishonest things that go down, so yesterday I called and made an appointment which despite the garage being full we were taken in as soon as we arrived, they run some Diagnostics on the OBD 2 computer and it was just pointing to a bad cell in the battery, no BS just what was needed.The guy who runs the back ( I cant remember his name) was so helpful and professional got us in and out in under 40 minutes, I can honestly say that I will go back to this location the next time I need something, when you find a good honest mechanics shop you hold onto them and treat them like family.
I visited the store and one of them recommended me to make an order at online and call if the tires are arrived. A week later, I placed an order and called them on scheduled date if it arrived, They said no and tires will be in 2~3 business days. In 3 days, I called them again and still no tires. A guy worked there said he will order the tires, telling me that it will take 2~3 days. I then called them again on the day, and they still did not get the tires yet. Furthermore, A guy in charge of tire sales made me hold for more than 32 minutes. Called them again but they put me in a hold directly even without any words. They were extremely rude and not responsible. I feel bad that I cant give them 0 star for rating.
This place is crazy. 8 months ago i came in to replace my alternator,serpentine belt and battery because my cars lights flickered and the car died. 8 months later i encounter the same problem and was advised that my serpentine belt is worn and needs replacing.(after 8 months? Should i expect this belt to break in 8 months as well?) i was told that the belt and battery are being replaced due to warranty but that i will have to pay labor, i am absolutely fine with this,working man needs his pay. I was told the car would be done at 1pm. They started working on my car when i walked in the store at 3pm while they were sitting around in a corner. While im waiting for hours in the waiting room i reviewed my past bill and they sneaked in a 35$ extended labor warranty charge. Works for me. This shop is not recommended.
Took my car here to get an oil change because it was convenient and down the block from where I work. On my way home I noticed that upon acceleration my car was making a very weird humming noise which was concerning because I live in jersey and had a long way to go. The car is only 2 years old and I’ve never had any issues in the past. I had to take it to another mechanic who told me that the humming noise was coming from the air filter housing and assumed that when the mechanics at pep boys checked my filters they did not close the the housing unit correctly. Once it was closed correctly the car stopped making any kind of strange noises. At that point I made sure to ask about my air filter which Pep boys told me needed to be replaced (I declined the service as this was done during my previous oil change at Nissan) the mechanic checked the air filter and indicated that it definitely did not need to be replaced. Needles to say I will not be going back to this location where clearly there is a lack of good service and the push to sell unnecessary parts is more important then correctly completing a simple oil change.
It took over 2.5 hours to get an oil change done with an appointment. They didnt even have a parking spot for their customers. When I tried to pull into their service garage, it was blocked by cones and their employee yelled at me for trying to park next to their garage to check in. If I didnt make an appointment, I would have just drove off to another service shop. Maybe I should have done that.Ive been to many Pep Boys in my life but this was one of the most unpleasant oil change experiences I had in awhile. Avoid this location unless you got 2.5 hours of spare time for an oil change. Your service department need some serious employee training and reevaluations.
I always appreciate when I have to go here because of the professionalism of those working in there in the service department. I am not a car person and so when I bring my vehicles here, I get an explanation and feel more knowledgeable and not talked down to thankfully. I recommend this location.
On August 26th i came in with my car to the pep boys location located at 20411 Northern Blvd, Queens, NY 11361 because i was having bad issues with my car, I left the car there and got a call saying they needed to get a part from the dealer and it would take a few days, I picked my car up a week later to only have it almost cause a accident on the highway since the car was having acceleration issues and break down on me with the exact same issues 6 days later.( My father use to work on cars so we have the computer to hook up and get the codes, The same codes from before was still there, Issue was never fixed)I returned with the car to the location and told them what happen, I was told it could be a issue with the dealer part but they would take a look at it.......2 days go by without hearing anything, I called the location and was told they could not find any further issue with the car...........Later that day i returned to pick up the car, After getting the keys the drive off, The car still had the check engine light on with the same codes( I have pictures to prove this)
Brought the car for 40K miles inspection and replace the back windshield wiper. I dropped the car at 11AM and was told that it will take 2 hours maximum. I came back at 3PM and the car was still parked on the street where I left it. When they saw me, they rushed to bring the car inside to work on it. An hour 10 minute later, I got the car. The wiper was not installed, and the tire pressure light was on. Ive waited all this God damn time and the job was not even done properly.
I have been going there for many years. Their service got worse and worse. They seem short handed. Wait time got longer and longer. I usually bring my car first thing in the morning as I leave closed by.I finally decided to use the local mechanic because their customer service is so bad.Went there to get an inspection and was told no one was available to do inspection until noon.The mechanic in the back told me the guy that does inspection wont be in until noon and asked me to talk to the person at the counter.Went to the store front and spoke with the guy behind the counter. He told me his inspection machine is down and wont be really until noon. If they are planning to make up stores to tell their customer, at least they should get their lies straight.I finally got fed up with all their BS and went to a local mechanic. I got my inspection done in less than an hour and was so satisfied with their service and explanation and took their recommendation and replacement all my 4 tires.PepBoys in Bayside just lost $600 worth of business and another loyal customer. I will never use them again.If they keep up this kind of horrible service, they wont be in business for long. Are you listening management???!!!
Very friendly staff. The mechanics at this location are certified so they know what they are doing. They always give customers the best options when it comes to safety related repairs and maintenance.Please disregard negative reviews as some customers that come here are not very knowledgable about the market for car parts and dont regularly maintain their vehicles. this leads them to think they are being taken advantage of when getting and accepting quotes and estimates for repairs that wouldve otherwise cost less or have been prevented if they had maintained their car regularlyMaintaining your car means: rotating tires every 5000 miles, changing oil every 3-4 months, replacing brakes when they squeak. If its not maintained, this will effect your drivability and more parts will need to be replaced
I have chosen this place to do my regular car maintenance for two years. My car maintenance include oil change and tire rotation.The service department front desk, named Franny ( sorry for my poor English , he may name Frank or Franklin), checked my car in, but he just answered me in orally. When I paid my service bill, I noticed there was not mention tire rotation. Franny explained to me and other front desk the service package including tire rotation. However, my wife and I found out technician did not do tire rotation. I went back to store and I wanted to ask them to do it. When Franny talked to the technician after he learned what happened, they left me alone, and they did not give me any responding. I tried to talk to Franny, but he was avoiding me. The technician yelped me backup your car , I said Will you do tire rotation? The technician shouted backup your car first . They stopped a car at the gate, no car can get in and out, then they were smoking in front of the gate, no one talked to me anymore. One minute later, I decided to leave, and I will not come back again.I hoped they did tire rotation when I came back, and I did not mind if they forgot to do the tire rotation first, and I would pay for the service absolutely. But I cannot stand their service attitude for me, their two-year customer. I would contact their customer service. It is too bad.
Service isnt as good. I got my car back and something was wrong when i left the garage. The car was stuck on acceleration. Someone had to come and fix it (at least they didnt charge me for that). I left my car on my block and drove twice since it was repaired for a new starter. The third time I tried to start it....it stopped working! I only got to use the car 2X! They charged my a total of $800 for a new starter and a full tune-up! What a rip off! Dont go! Beware!
Excellent service at this location!!!Ask for Rafeek...., this guy had his master tech take care of my wifes Jeep Cherokee at a reasonable price and time, no one in the area seems to get the complicated ABS system on these damn cars...these guy do....I had a guy by the name of Alex take care of my tires here before with excellent customer service... made me want to see if they could figure out my ABS problem...couldnt be happier with this PEPBOYS....GREAT JOB BOYS!!!!!!
If I could give this store a Zero rating I would. The staff is pretty nasty. Always speak with attitude. They over charge for stuff to get done here. And I got an oil change but when I check my oil the next morning, they didn’t change it at all. So They charge me for a job not done. If you can avoid this store do so!!!
UpdateI am updating my rating for them. I went first car early morning for inspection today. They took over an hour but I went in without appt and it was a holiday and only one or two mechanical. So no complaints at all.They treated me well . So far, it has been pleasant experience today. Will keep business with them.Give them a second try if you already had bad experience.David at front counter is a gem !Keep it up !-------------xxxxxxxIssue 1) worked on a wheel with flat tire, later same tire flat again, road service tried to unscrew wheel, could not and the lug nut actual mount broke. I was told lug nuts were not properly screwed in.Ignored, things happenIssue 2) oil change performed, I was told later weeks after by another mechanic that I was driving my car with low oil level and I then figured I did notice some engine noise all these weeks. Let it goIssue 3) went for flat tire fix, took three hours, supposedly fixed. Same tire flat again just after so many miles, went back , another few hours. I was told they had fixed the tire with a patch and they were surprised that they now could not find the patch at all... Wow!!!! Some witch vanished the patch with a magic broom?,. Unbelievably, same tire they worked on twice, going flat again the third time., I was several miles away from home in NJ, and could have been completely stranded over the weekend. I took it to 24 hour flat tire fix location and Mr. Jose, with no English and no education took less than five minutes and fixed the tire for ten dollars. The tire never flat again ever.Issue 4). Wanted to have breaks changed, was discouraged that it would take several hours for my turn and to take my car somewhere else! Seriously! Thats how you compete in this world!Issue 5) they could not change a simple lamp on a turn signal, and the guy broke the bulb and had to use the second one in the twin pack I had purchased, he still had trouble and I had to intervene.Issue 6). They say they are busy but then all of them are hanging around exchanging jokes and jabs, laughing over their lame and feeble jokes with each other while people are waiting for their cars.Issue 7) even 800 customer service sounds like people from a third world country with no empathy and no care at all. It is clear to me that their top corporate management is the same. I called several labour my more than one issue, particularly with oil change issue that could be serious, no one cared to call me even upon my repeated requests to speak to a district manager for redressal to my grievances.The single star they are getting from me is for state inspection they had done and that they raised no madeup issue to fix it at their shop for expensive repair s.
Waited an hour for a brake checkup that I had prescheduled online.They quote their part prices at a BIG markup from their own regular store prices when you go to their service department.Id only go to this store if they have something on their flyer youre interested in. Otherwise, Id find a decent local shop you can trust.
I usually do not make any review but this one i had to because even when i made an appointment at 3pm for JUST engine oil change service, i had to wait for 2 hours and 30 min to get it done. I asked the manager for why it takes this long and he just blame on the online appointment. Then why is the point of having online appointment system? Engine oil change service should not take more then 1 hour!!!! I wont come back to this place for any service. Please do not come here and waste your valuable time.
I basically only buy car care like wiper blades, cleaners and fluids. Occasionally I get bulbs. Im not buying or renting parts and tools though they do appear to offer that. It looks like they might offer some maintenance and mechanical help too. They definitely will install your wiper blades for free and in my case teach me how when I went from a j-hook to a different attachment for the first time. Came here for state inspection, was told its a 2 hour wait, its been 6 hours and still no update.Be honest about the wait times, thats the least customers can expect. Avoid this place at all costs. If I could give a negative rating, I would.I was having Car Trouble during my lunch break on Tuesday 12/04/2018; ABS, Brake, Slip, TCS lights were all on, Gas Gauge wasnt working, Speedometer and everything on dashboard werent working, and there was no power to radio/AC. I called Pep Boys, explained the problem to them, they said its probably an electric issue, and that I could bring it in later that day.I bring it in, they tell me their electrician left for the day so theyll look at it tomorrow. I dont hear back from them until Friday morning, and all they say is that theres no power between the Car Computer and the Car. I call back Friday night, 11 hours later, they tell me the same exact thing.Saturday at Noon, the manager calls me and tells me to pickup my car because they cant fix it. They said the found a broken ground cable, replaced it, but it still didnt work. I figure Ill come in, and drive it to a Nissan service station so they can fix it. I get there, and the first thing the manager tells me is that Im probably going to have to tow it because it wont start... They try to jump start the car, it doesnt work. The manager was under the impression that my car got towed there, but I told him that I drove it there, and the mechanic confirmed that the car was starting when it first came in. So they bring the car back into the shop, work on it for an hour and half, and still cant get it started.While theyre doing all this, I walk down to a Star Nissan Dealership to get a towing company they use so I can bring my car to their service station, and they confirmed I can still tow the car there even though the service station is now closed, and closed the next day as well. The manager refused to use that number and used Pepboys towing service. He calls them in front of me and says hell give me a call when the tow truck gets there. I get no call.I call back the next day to see if my car was towed; it wasnt. I ask to speak to the manager; hes off that day. I ask the person to follow up with me when he finds out whats going on and to call me back when he does; he never calls me back. I call back an hour later, NO ONE ANSWERS THE PHONE. I literally had to call back straight for an hour, and sit on hold for 30 minutes to finally speak to someone. The car still doesnt get towed that day.They finally Tow in Monday morning, but not in time for the Nissan Service Station to look at it that day. Nissan looks at my car Tuesday, call me, and tell me the original problem with my car (which wasnt electrical), and on top of that, they say they found that the Ground Cable (that Kadeem from PepBoys replaced) was installed incorrectly. They found the ground cable installed directly to the transmission, and not grounded to chassis, which opened a circuit to the ECM.The ECM and ground battery cable fix will cost $1,552.25 + tax. So I filed a claim with PepBoys to cover the damage they caused to my car. Now I have to wait 5-7 business days for them to have an adjuster look at my car. 5-7 Business days from now will be Friday December 21st. If they dont get it done by then, the next possible business day is Wednesday December 26th. And if they cant get it done by the 28th, the next possible business day is January 2nd. And on top of all that it will probably take a day for Nissan to fix the car.The manager doesnt know what hes doing. The mechanic I saw sucked. The way they were talking about my car problems, they used words like research and looking up issues. They definitely referred to Google to fix the problem. This place is pathetic.
Today is Saturday September 1st at 3:30 I was there. Two guys were at the door smoking cigarette and they told me they are busy and they have a lots of customers. I asked for a diagnosis and they said they close at 6:00 PM. The website says 8:00 and they told me no it is 6:00 pm that we close. No car was at the door and I almost pulled my car in but they said they are busy. Basically they had nothing to do. Very disappointing and this was my second experience with them.
Repeatedly brought in car for repairs around similar issue. We got suspicious and verified with another mechanic that they either purposely messed up our car in an earlier repair so wed keep coming back, or they were extremely incompetent in fixing the car and caused more issues than they fixed and didnt want to admit they messed up. Extremely shady shop no one should go to! It can literally cost you thousands of dollars.
The place is acceptable for changing oil and little things like that. Prices of merchandise is on the high side. Make sure to make an appointment before heading here. One thing I did not like is that they do not do a thorough inspection of the car like they do in other places.
I do all my own auto repair. But I still need inspections, tires replaced, and wheel alignments. After just replacing my own rack and pinion and struts,!i now need a wheel alignment (and a new tire probably again) , but after reading all these reviews- Im scared to go there, but they are so close to my home. I will report back tomorrow to see how it goes.
Amazing experience!! So Vish greeted me and got me exactly what I needed in a matter of seconds, and then came in Feroze my savior! helped me out not only in finding out what I needed for my car but also answered the million and one questions I had for him (Im a rookie when it comes to cars so he was patient explaining to me exactly what i needed help with). I also love that they dont do and say everything just to make a sale; theyre genuine with their guidance. My car is up and running very well again and it only took minutes, all thanks to Pep Boys (:
This was a horrible experience. Called first just to have radiator checked. (Car overheating ).was told to bring it in as soon as possible and they will check it out. When I got there , I was told it would be 2 hours. So I waited. No one ever looked at it. Then I asked how much longer they said a said it should be a few more minutes. Complained again 1 hrs later and was egnored, waited 1 more hour. Customers came after me and left before me. after about 4 or more hours . still hadnt looked at it. I made them back it out and I left. This place needs major overhaul.
I had an appointment at 10AM and after waiting till 11AM, I see my car still waiting outside to have someone see, I asked the most senior mechanic Jerry about waiting time. He gave me a bullshit eg of doctor saying when you have an appointment with doctor does he take you at same time of appointment? This is a business we cant do anything, I have 2 more car to see before your car and I am pretty sure they are just a walked in customer. I dont understand the whole point of taking an appointment. Very very pissed and unsatisfied with the customer service. Jerry who is proclaimed to be the most senior mechanic has so much of attitude and arrogance that he forgot how to talk with customer. Stay away from this place.
Had to wait over 5 hours for an inspection just for them to tell me that they couldnt do it. Apparently you cant inspect a car with a brand new battery, which the ly could have told me right when I got there. If they had told me up front I wouldnt have wasted my entire day! Unbelievable.
Where do I start I spoke to a mechanic or service writer Dillon on Tuesday purchased a battery several months ago having charging problems it was late at night almost 8pm drove by they tell me its better in the afternoon to come by less people. I asked how about Saturday morning Dillon tells me they open at 8am. So I decide to come early Im here at 715 am Dillon finally opens the gate around 820 am. He tells me I need an appointment are you freaken kidding me. Ive been waiting for over an hour he tells me if you want me to look at it park the car on a meter and wait a few hours till I get to you. Common courtesy and work practice would say you need to make an appointment for a Saturday or any given day. Just dont tell me I cant help you after waiting more than an hour. Im F@#$ING PISSED. ONE FREAKEN MILE FROM MY HOUSE AND YOU SCREW ME LIKE THIS. Never again will I do business with PEPBOYS NORTHERN BLVD 204th STREET. What a waste of time.
Worst place to get a service hereDrop off my car at 11:30 am for engine oil change service. They said the car will be ready in 2 hours. Came back at 2:00 pm, my car still sit in the parking lot w/o done anything. They gave me a bunch of excuses instead of an apology. I dont recommend this place to all.
My 21 yr old son went to get his first car, it’s required NYS inspection. This auto was purchased from the mechanic who serviced it.My son calls me and says that it failed, and needed almost $1100 in steering repairs.After having it looked at by TWO independent mechanics, we went to pep boys in Hicksville, on a recommendation from a friend. There were NO steering issues at all, and it passed inspectionStay clear of pep boys in bayside. They are as dishonest as they come.
This is the worse place to go. You have a bunch of employees standing around just talking. The young kids you have working here have absolutely no respect for other folks. They will see you waiting to talk to someone but instead talk about how the club was last night, or some stupidness other than work. I suggest you get you employees in line because If I walked out other people are too. If I was you, I would have someone older as management.
For starters, the gentleman that took my tire information down was sooooo rude, that he barely acknowledged that I was even there, making me feel like he had something better to do. Well, after all was said & done, NEVER received a call, letting me know that my tire had arrived...HORRIBLE SERVICE..Didnt even bother going back..DONT WASTE YOUR TIME
DO NOT GO HERE. I went to this location and they put two new tires, both Michelin defenders, on the car. Months later I took my car to my trusted autoplace in my home town where they told me that one tire was a different radius/number from the rest. Pep boys had put one correct tire and one incorrect tire on the car.
Bought a tire inflator. Trying to return it yesterday while it was well within the 90 days, and was told return policy doesn’t take return of electronic items. They refer you to the return policy on the receipt. If you haven’t bought anything from them, make sure you check out the store policy before you buy anything. If you don’t have time to check out their policy, don’t buy from them.
The worst customer service after 50 years to be in businessI ask the employee for scratch remover and point out which one was.Went home and try and dint work so i bring back the product .The young lady said the scratch remover was the wrong thing because the young manwho sold me the product he dint have experience .Next question was i get the money back.She said let me talk to the store manager .I wait 20 minutes so i got mad i left the products on the count and said .THANKS FOR YOUR HELP
Way overpriced tires... try Auburndale Tires instead... baloney,with the buy 3 get 1 free... they overcharge the other 3 to cover the 4th and tag installation,balancing,aligment,valves,road hazard warranty,etc... same Pirelli tires for my cx9 was 680.00 less than Pep boys and this is purchasing a 4th tire. One charge included all!Shop around... dont suggest Pep Boys for tires...unless money is not an object!
Sold me a defective head light bulb. When returned to get a refund, NO apologies for inconvenience I had to deal with but instead gave me an attitude as if I am trying to scam them by returning them a old used bulb. Especially that little indian guys behavior was absolutely ridiculous. Whole experience was very upsetting.
I like these guys. I came here for what I thought was the issue, they looked it over, found the real issue and got me on my way. But what really stuck out was their customer service. Recommending I stay and put it on the lift when I was ready to go. Thats cool. I recommend checking them out

Ive been coming to Pep Boys for over 2 years, fully trusting the work they did on my cars. Sadly, I will not be going again because of a very strange turn of events that showed me the PepBoys staff in Bayside are either extremely reckless or out to make a quick buck off unsuspecting customers.I brought my car in for a NY State Inspection and 10 days later my rear driver-side tire exploded. Thankfully, my wife was near PepBoys and asked the mechanic to take a look. According to THEIR words, the mechanic found inside the tire a whole boxcutter, which just so happened to knock out the TPMS sensor. How does a whole box cutter end up inside an exploded tire?? I asked other people familiar with cars, and they told me that a tire exploding with a box cutter inside is really bizarre. However, I didnt question them about it and we were charged just under $300 to buy a brand new tire and tire sensor plus installation fees.Over a week later, after they changed my tire, my tire pressure was low so I checked it at a gas station. One of the tires was a little under 32 PSI, however I was shocked to see that the front passenger tire was now at over 51 PSI! That is over 50% of the recommended tire pressure. I now understood how my rear driver side tire EXPLODED. These guys supposedly checked all my tires TWICE and somehow my tire was over 50% higher than 32 PSI. Of course everything started smelling fishy for me and it started making sense how my rear tire suddenly exploded while my wife was driving on a LOCAL street. Whether they did it recklessly or just to make a quick buck off me, the world will never know.Whatever the case, these people put my whole familys lives in danger of exploding tires ... for what??? I would give this play zero stars if I could. Stay away for your own sake!
DONT GO THERE! Bait and switch. They tell you they will give you pepboys deals, but when you get there they tell you they dont have the items but say they have similar items but no discounts. BEWARE!Also they say they wont honor warranty items unless its the same exact item (even the same exact batch!!). Then they say they dont care your items but have similar items but no discounts. BEWARE!They say the price and they raise it later by adding all kinds of fees. Ridiculous amounts of addition costs. BEWARE!
This pepboy location is the worst. I went for a leak. They said they fixed it. Two weeks later another leak which end up being the radiator then 3weeks later another leak. This time they said another hose. I finally took it to another mechanic. The mechanic said all the leaks are in the same location and they shouldve fixed these issues one time. They are crooks and fed me a lot of BS
Very bad experience with just oil change. The price on their website is very misleading, its inaccurate. I wasted time due to these misleading information, the price is doubled. And the service are really bad, ppl are rude, it seems they dont care their bizness that much.NOT Recommended!!!!
Went in for an inspection back in June. The guy broke a stud off of my wheel, claimed it was already like that. Failed me for broken stud and a sagging suspension which is BS, because I just had a lot of things in my hatch. Ironically, they passed the guy next to me even though he had blacked out tinted headlights. The place sucks.
This little nasty India women(she told me shes gm) didnt even bother to answer any questions, when I asked what kind of break light I should get for my Bmw, she replied we dont do that, you should know what you need before you coming here. Well Pep boy you just loose lots of business

2022-02-22I love this place. These guys are so great, thorough and very knowledgeable. Extremely accommodating and genuinely care. They never try to sell you something you dont need, which separates them from the rest of these crook mechanic shops. They are very busy but try hard to squeeze you in if they can. Would definitely recommend as i go there often with my 3 older cars for regular maintenance.

All the employees are professional and courteous - an employee named Troy was particularly helpful and knowledgeable concerning many questions that I had about the condition and general maintenance of my vehicle. 2022-03-07Initially came for a tire pressure check which Carlos was really helpful in checking over thoroughly. Ended up coming the very next day for a separate issue and was equally pleased with the service and attention given to my concerns. This time it was Troy who helped me and I couldn’t be more pleased with the time, service, and attention provided. They worked super fast given I hadn’t had an appointment but desperately needed an alignment. The mechanics were all very helpful, definitely recommend!

2022-03-31Today I went because I needed a battery changed and oil change as well. Being my car did not start it was 4 years since my battery was changed. Staff was friendly and listen to what I needed done w the car. They ran a battery test and it was the battery. It was fixed within hour. Great service and priced right! I highly recommend this location.

2021-03-18Just wanted the oil change and replacement of all eight spark plugs and coils. Thats what I asked for when I made the appointment. I didnt know I was charged for a fuel efficiency package and an extended warranty until I got home and looked at the receipt.
