Absolutely worth finding, even if its out of your way. The food is excellent, and perhaps some of the best service weve ever had. David appears to truly care about his profession and took pride in every element of his interaction with us. Combined with a very nice little outside seating area, was a perfect beginning of a short trip back to the area.
Amazing! This is the second time we have dined here and that’s the word that comes to mind. The food, wine list, service and atmosphere all amazing. The lasagna is absolutely delicious as well as the deserts I highly recommend trying them all!Our waiter was so friendly and welcoming. We will definitely be back again and again.
As always, an amazing experience. High-end, family-owned feel that always makes you want to come back. You pay for the quality (and quantity), which always exceeds expectations. If they have their tuna steak special available be sure to get it. Make sure to get a glass/bottle of their wine - its a lovingly selected wine list with fair prices.
Me and the gf went for dinner at this great place in the village of Cornwall.Cornwall is very quiet, friendly, small town on the Hudson and this place is the Cheers rerun of Cornwall. Everyone knows your name, etc.The food is great and served in large portions. You can sit outside and actually watch people walk by or kids riding their bikes. Its a nice place with good food. Be warned it can get pricey but I think its worth it. Go and enjoy.
Some of the worst service I’ve ever experienced. Child size water bottles are your water option and no glasses to pour into. Soda cans are given for soft drink orders. Our table waited 45 minutes for a drink order and another hour for a food order all while we watched tables (staff clearly knew the patrons at) turn over all around us. Comments also overheard from patrons to staff at nearby table of how annoyed they were that people that don’t live in the community were there. We then waited for food to come out, one or two plates at a time.3 out of 9 orders were wrong when they came to the table, and 3 plates were not eaten because the food was not palatable. Very disappointing would definitely not return.
Our groups visit to Pepettini was dramatically unpleasant. We came to celebrate an upcoming wedding. When we arrived, the owner seemed wary of us but lightened when we said wed made a reservation weeks in advance. It was the middle of their dinner rush and they seemed short staffed so we were happy to chat amongst ourselves while we waited to sit and then order. As the rush died down though, we noticed that our server was still incredibly inattentive. We waited 45 minutes to order wine for the table, then another half hour to order dinner. Throughout this time, the server went from apologetic and self-deprecating to rude and defensive. He seemed to think we were younger than we were, and treated us as though we were petulant kids. When we commented on the timing he informed us that this is what this place is.After the meal, he offered to comp a round of drinks. By this time wed been there for three hours and just wanted to move on with the night, so we asked if he could take that amount off the overall bill. Then it got out of hand. Our party tried to negotiate calmly with the the server but he took immediate offense. He said the owner would speak to us. A few moments later, the visibly intoxicated owner CHARGED at us. He made vocal threats and removed his shirt as he threatened the member of our party he felt most antagonistic toward. We ended up shepherding that member out a side door while pulling a table in front of us to further protect him. The owner put hands on several of the women in our group as they tried to stand between him and the member wed helped escape. All the while, staff and other guests tried to hold him back. Everyone was shouting. They yelled at us first as though wed instigated the fight, but then switched to de-escalating the man. Another guest offered to pay our bill (which we tried to refuse) but other guests encouraged us to leave as quickly as possible. Even the waiter was suddenly refusing our money. The cops were called and a report was filed, but they clearly supported the restaurant. This is a local hang. Outsiders should be wary of visiting.
An amazing meal! Warm and friendly service! They went as far as to bring dinner to us in the parking lot across the street. As always, we experienced the over-the-top Italian hospitality and warmth that we were accustomed to when we dined in-house! The meal hit the mark, as always! Delicious! We highly recommend a visit or take-out visit here!!!!!
My boyfriend took me here for my birthday, it was our first time there and it was amazing. Everybody came out and joked and laughed with us, and was super friendly. The place is very cute, and the ambience is great. The food is incredible, excellent, real, authentic Italian cuisine. I would definitely recommend it for anybody to go that would like to try Italian cuisine or that like Italian food. A must go!
My girlfriend and I still talk about the sublime meal we had at Pepettini over Labor Day Weekend (this review is long overdue but well deserved). We loved our waiter who was funny and charming. The food and wine he chose for us was delicious (I will never know the name of the dish I ate - it was amazing - creamy, spicy, flavorful). The wine was the perfect accompaniment and would have stolen the show had the food not been so good. The tiramisu was the best I’ve ever had and absolutely sinful! The after dinner drink was delicious as well. The chef came out afterwards and chatted it up with us since they were closing and we had a really nice conversation even though my girlfriend and I only know a few words in Italian. We understood each other perfectly though. I am not from the area (we came here after a beautiful day at Storm King) but we will surely be back. One of the most memorable and wonderful meals of my life. The absolute cherry on top of what was one of those rare but unforgettable perfect days. Thank you Pepettini!
Took my girlfriend here for her birthday. The atmosphere is so relaxing with the candlelight and Ole Blue Eyes playing in the background. The service is great and very professional. Now the food is absolutely amazing very traditional Italian, very delicious and very good. If you are in the area and want a good traditional Italian meal then I highly recommend this place.
My wife and I had just moved to the area, after living in NYC for 45 years. We felt like fish out of water. Leaving NYC, one of our fears was not being able to find quality dining experiences. Fortunately, our fears were mitigated late on a Thursday afternoon, a mere three days into our new Hudson Valley address, when we stumbled across this place, were charmed by the facade and decided to give it a try.The inside was equally charming, beautiful old world decor, feels somewhat European. The Frank Sinatra and other old jazz and world lounge music add to the ambiance.Menu is mostly Italian pastas and entrees. I ordered the pork chop, which was huge, juicy, novel in preparation, excellent. The deserts were fantastic. The wine selection is good.Service is is excellent. The owner is always out on the floor, and a short conversation soon surprisingly revealed that he is close friends with the owner of a restaurant - now closed - in the East Village that was our favorite and that we went to weekly. It turned out that we were among old friends! This is now a favorite place of ours, we go there regularly.I notice that some other reviewers have complained about being overcharged. We have had 4 experiences with an incorrect bill: 1 was overcharged, 3 were undercharged, one of those by $20. I suggest that management invest in some 21st century automation.
Best Italian restaurant in the area. When we walked through the doors, we were immediately greeted by the friendly staff and treated as if we were family. The atmosphere is great. As mentioned on here the restaurant was a old-time bank and it still has that vibe. The food was excellent and the desserts were some of the best I’ve had.
Excellent dinner with family - we shared a fabulous antipasto; I had the spaghetti seafood which was exceptional; others had the rib eye steak and red snapper which they said were very good. The house brewed sangria was also very good. Service was outstanding!! We dined in the Board Room and I loved the decor!
I love this restaurant! They provide high class dishes, their menu is large, The cook in that place is a real authority in the kitchen, I like very much eating all their dishes. The dishes are consistently good, the service towards the customers is very good too. I frequently visit this place and I not even once was discontended. I recommend this place.
Love love love Peppetini!!! Can’t say enough good things about this restaurant. The ambiance, food, and service are all five stars. My husband is 100% Italian so if he loves it then you know it’s good! The staff know that I love the boscaiola sauce and will make it even when it isn’t a special - absolutely delicious. We also went here for my sister’s 30th birthday. Larry was very helpful in organizing this. All of the guests are still talking about how amazing the food was and many people have gone back because they can’t stop thinking about it! My husband and I have become regulars and Peppitini is definitely our favorite restaurant.
The level of service at Pepettini is second to none. From greetings at the door to amazing table service - Frankie is an amazing server, the level of service is fantastic. On the food side, the baked mozzarella app was fantastic. Cesar salad was too notch as was the scallop with Brandy sauce pasta special. The Ossa Bucco had some high and low points but was overall good.We had a wonderful time and will definitely be back.
Go and experience an excellent Italian restaurant that encourages hours of delicious dining with a host of hilarious and capable waiters to serve and entertain. The old River Bank in Cornwall on Hudson delights with historical architecture while soaking in savory aromas and visual beauty in this quaint neighborhood. The best Italian food in the Mid-Hudson Valley 👌😍
My wife, son and I shared a recent dinner here while visiting at West Point. I enjoyed the charming atmosphere, and the wait staff was friendly and attentive. But Our meals took nearly an hour to arrive, and my wife’s meal (chk piccata) and mine (chk Marsala) were delivered cold. Though cold, the Marsala was tasty, but my wife and son were disappointed in their meals. We did like the bread with pickled veggies that were served before the meal... that was a nice touch. There were enough good things about this restaurant to make me want to try one more time. I will upgrade this review if the next visit is better.
Came here for an evening drink after dinner was long over and enjoyed a very nice anejo! Then to Top it off, the owner had the waiter bring out two pieces of their best desserts, lemon cake which was to die for and the chocolate mousse which was amazing even though Im not a huge chocolate lover! Nicely done
We finally got the time to check this place out.... we couldnt have been disappointed. the service was great, the food was delicious, and the drinks very refreshing. Both my husband I dont get much time to time to dine and wine. We were so glad to Piattinis didnt disappoint us.Cant wait to go back.
I ordered scallop pasta in white sauce. The pasta itself was dry and quite flavorless to the point where the waiter suggested I add olive oil. The scallops had no sear marks on them at all so I can only assume they were boiled or microwaved and Im not sure they were seasoned at all.My wife ordered shrimp pasta and it was quite good. Not sure what went wrong with my dish. The food is expensive so I expected much higher quality. 2/5 only because my wife enjoyed her meal. My meal was 1/5 or 0/5 and in hindsight I should have sent it back. I was hungry.
Not sure what was better the service or the food. My gf and I ordered two things not even on the menu and both were made to perfection with no upcharge. Very hospitable and scene and vibe were perfect.David was our waiter ask for him and Lou the owner was very attentive and a great host. Overall experience was fantastic and I recommend this place to anyone.
This is by far the best Italian food in the Hudson Valley, and Id vote for all of NY. Great wine selection. I took my 10 year old daughter there and the staff was so friendly that she asked if she could work there because Shayne was really nice lol. Thank you guys for a great experience and delicious menu. Cheers.
Shane was awesome at the bar. Offered taste tests on wine to find the one we liked best. Brought a small Anitpaste/Bruschetta that was delicious.Nice wait staff. I asked for something a bit off menu (Franchaise instead of Marsala) and the Kitchen served up what I asked for. Others in my party ordered the Salmon and the Pork Chop on the menu and that was outstanding. An overall pleasant experience. We wish them well.
We had no plans for dinner tonght, so my wife and I decided to try Piattinis out. What a great dinner we had, service and atmosphere, were all outstanding. Chicken Parmesan was very good, the Stuffed Pork Chop was damn good! Artichoke as an appy, was tasty, and very good. Extra treat was the water! Served with mint leaves and lemons. We will be back!
My wife and I been regulars at Pepettini since last fall. At first we were very impressed with the regular menu options but quickly discovered their daily specials. Now when we come in Pepe asks us what do we want. Ive never been to a restaurant and asked what do I want... awesome! Before your drink order arrives they serve you Arthur Avenue bread and a plate of antipasto. The antipasto reminds me of an era long gone by and is a great touch!Menu staples are for appetizers the Prosciutto Sushi, Baked Mozz, Grilled Artichokes and the Shrimp. For the entrees the authentic Bolognese, Lasagna, Chicken Breast and the Cod. Some of the highly recommended specials are the Seafood Spaghetti, Zuppa de Pesce, Cavatelli with Shrimp and Pesto, Bronzino, Veal Piccatta and the Pork Chop. This is without a doubt the best Italian restaurant weve been outside of NYC, perhaps even better than anything in NYC.Weve had their homemade limoncello cake for dessert as well as the homemade tiramisu and cannoli all were OMG good! All full of flavor but incredibly light. The service is always exceptional; a great bunch of fun loving people. Everyone is very warm and attentive and give you time to enjoy and relax the amazing food they know is never far behind.Im glad we found this local gem.
So disappointed. Chicken Marsala was superb. Spaghetti alle vongole was not. $1.50 of boxed spaghetti, 8 tiny baby clams - not too fresh smelling - for $28. Serious buyers remorse. Waiter never came over to ask, very busy chatting at the bar or we would have told him. Had to wait for him to finish his conversation for the check. Very happy with the bus boy who was attentive and courteous.

2022-05-29I took my wife here for our anniversary and the environment was nothing short of inviting and intimate. Our server, Mr. Edgar, was knowledgeable of the menu and anticipated our needs. Our three-course meal was impeccable. I highly recommend this spot if you’re looking for authentic Italian, great customer service, and an intimate setting. We will certainly return.

2022-03-07Pepettini is a great restaurant located in the Village of Cornwall on Hudson NY. The restaurant is set in a turn of the century, 1900’sh, former bank, with a lot of charm. Our food was prepared perfectly. The staff was extremely friendly, courteous and knowledgeable about the entire menu. For a small restaurant Pepettini has a menu with wonderful selections of beef, fish, chicken and pasta. Although only 3 of us, we shared appetizers and dessert. A hidden gem just north of West Point. When you go in, see if you can find the original bank safe. Can’t wait to return!!!

2022-06-10Very friendly, traditional NY Italian. The portions are large. Had a really nice dinner. We do not eat meat or shellfish but they accommodated us nicely.

2022-03-22Nice restaurant but we waited 90 minutes for appetizers. We arrived at 6pm and our appetizers arrived at 7:30. Our mains were served around 8pm. Far too long of a wait for food.

2019-08-07Let me start by the fact that I rarely give any establishment 5 stars simply because I hate to give the build up and have them not deliver. In this case, however, it is well deserved. This is as pleasant of a restaurant as I have come across in all my years of travelling and finding great places to eat. The setting is quite simple, I recommend out by the sidewalk under the umbrellas, yet pleasant and ellegant in a way that Italian restaurants are in the Lake Como area. The food takes a reasonable amount of time to get (even when they are busy), the taste of the food is just right, the service is fantastic without being overwhelming, and the wine list a nice surprise. We had the pleasure of having Dave as our waiter on the last visit and he was great. Thank you Sir!For dessert all I can say is try the tiramisu... I dont know what sort of witchcraft is used to make it, but wow!A great dining experience... Well be back for sure!😉

2021-08-07An absolutely great place. When we arrived we wanted to sit out on the deck but they only had a table for 6 and we were but a party of 3, however they sat us at the table anyway. Our waiter Dave was excellent, he knew the menu and specials perfectly. He was attentive to all of our needs and wishes. It was honestly one of the best dining out experiences Ive had in years. Will definitely return.
