Everything was just alright (or not good). The service was fine, especially for a busy Saturday night. They couldn’t seat us earlier than the reservation even though there were empty tables. We ordered the poutine - they should have left out the bacon, it did not help the dish at all. If they had left out the bacon this dish would have been good.I decided to play it safe and order the half chicken crispy. The server told us it takes a half hour to make (I remembered to take the photo after I started eating). The only bright spot about this chicken is the skin was actually very crispy and tasty. However the chicken itself was dry and flavorless. The gravy tasted as if they just poured a bottle of wine and forgot to burn off the alcohol. The mashed potatoes LITERALLY have caramelized onions (and rosemary) in them - never seen that before - it was odd. I didn’t eat them. The only part of this plate they didn’t mess up was the spinach. So if you are thinking of going here, skip this dish.
Food was very good and service was friendly. I have a gluten allergy and asked if something was gluten free, waitress advised it was so I ordered it. But I ended up getting very sick later on that day so I think she was mistaken. Cant confirm either way unfortunately. Otherwise though, had a pleasant time just think the servers should be more weary of food allergies.
This was a great unexpected find after my friend and I found our original place was closed. Fortunately they had 1 table outside, were seated in 3min on a Sunday. Ordered wings, hummus and pita, and chorizo and corn hash browns. All presented well and very delicious. Our waitress was very pleasant and attentive. We would definitely recommend this place and will be back.
Food was great. I guess they dont look at the glasses they serve you drinks in. They served me a $13 alcoholic beverage with a chip and a crack halfway down the glass. Half the beverage spilled allover the floor and on the table. My wife saw the piece of glass missing once I had finished the drink. Other then that incident I had a great experience. I would definitely go back. Im going to inspect my drinks from now on.
Excellent eating experience. From walking in the door and being greeted by employee, seated and drink orders taken, was maybe 5 minutes. Meal was delicious, drinks are also highly recommended. Server was very friendly and helpful which was very much appreciated especially after having a very unpleasant experience at another establishment prior to arriving.
I have been here several times. Amazing food!!!! Decided to take the plunge and make a reservation on NYE this year and was extremely disappointed on the waitress we had. Bella was stand- offish as if she didnt want to help us at all. Sat at the table for 30 minutes before getting glasses of water/ drinks. No eye contact, until I said can we be helped. Instead of having an appropriate response she snapped back. Then after we got our food she was explaining to us how she cant wait to get out of work being they close at 10. HORRIBLE experience. Hope she enjoyed the nice tip which was definitely not deserved..........
The service and food were good. The porkchop I had was huge and very tender, a little bland (for my taste) but still delish. (Dash of salt remedies that) The Brussels sprouts were very tasty but could have cooked a tad longer (again, for my taste). The sweet potato mash, yes!! The seafood risotto was good but bestie said the rice was a bit under done, so it was a little toothy. Our table neighbors had the same dish and agreed. I told my bestie about this place and how good the food and creme brulee were. Unfortunately when we visited together there was only one left so we ordered that and the skillet cookie sundae. Yuummmm!! We will return!!
Overall this place isnt bad. The food is good and the portions are huge. Only thing I would say is ordering and getting a drink...takes forever. Having lunch outside, we had to order two drinks at a time, otherwise it took forever to get another drink (we learnt this after ordering drinks the first time). Service was also a little slow and appetizer plates were left at the table after entree was delivered. This attracted some bees that were floating around. The place was not busy, so there was no real reason for things to be so slow. The place is also a little on the expensive side, though the food is good. I would go back again and have been previously. Probably would not be my go to place, but a good place if you want to change it up. Not a place I would recommend price wise if you are on a budget.
I *wanted* to rave about this place because the menu is so full of interesting little details but the food was very....meh. Short rib app was hard and stringy like the part of the corned beef that stuck up above the water for too long while the rest of it boiled. The sauce was nice and the ramen cake was interesting but relatively flavor-free. Dry rub wings were juicy and were nicely seasoned. Flat iron steak was so tough that after two bites I gave up trying to cut and eat it. Short of standing on my chair so I could put my back into it, there was just no way to get my knife thru it. Gorgonzola crusted usually means brown and bubbly under a salamander. This was just an uncooked smear of blood stained pink goo on top of an already sad steak. Yes, a rare steak bleeds, but a properly browned cheese handles that beautifully. This just looked like strawberry cream cheese. My husband got the NY strip, which was fine but thats because a NY strip is a decent cut of meat, not because anything (at all) was done by the kitchen to enhance its flavor. Im not even sure they salted it. Both steaks were cooked properly to the requested temps. The truffle fries didnt have even the slightest hint of truffle. The creamed spinach was not at all creamed. Just a bland, wet lump of hospital food. The onion and potato hash was slightly less interesting than what comes next to your omelet at the diner. Portion sizes were not at all generous. This is a 5 star menu with chain restaurant execution. The decor was Quick Draw & Pal Mal chic with ripped accoustic tiles that look like old rubber door mats and nondescript pictures hung crookedly in awkward places. The service was absolutely excellent and attentive however there was a clear aversion on their part to ask a question of the kitchen if they didnt know an answer. As a long time server myself, I suspect fear. Your probably deeply talented, hardworking kitchen is unhappy, Perabell. And it shows in your diningroom.
I usually don’t do write poor reviews based of my experience but here we go... food and services were average nothing to complain or nothing to write home about. What was really terrible was my experience at the bar!I was waiting for the bartender who made eve contact twice while being cut in front of by another customer(male). I was alone. Bartender serves about 4 customers then comes back to our end and serves him. Eventually he moves i get my chance to order. He come back over, places his hands on my waist. I ask him please not to touch me, bartender served me my drink and told me I was rude because I needed to understand she was alone behind the bar. I left crying because not only was I touched inappropriately I was told I was rude by the less then friendly bartender for feeling so.
Go for the Blackboard Specials! We had a spectacular experience. I went here with a date for an earlier dinner. We ordered the baked mac & cheese, potato puffs as appetizers. Entrees, were the Hake special with snap peas stir fry and rice and the lobster ravioli. I cannot say any bite throughout the evening was better than another. The entire meal was a marvel of flavor and delight, I simply couldnt get enough of. It truly stood out in every way, impeccable timing and service as well. The mac and cheese was perfectly baked and Ive never enjoyed snap peas with a fish before. The wine sauce in this dish made it a true culinary experience, likewise with the Ravioli. The cocktails are similarly unique and creative. Blueberry Tea infused Titos anyone? or a liquid snack with toasted coconut around the rim. Please continue exceeding expectations. :)
This place is great. I got some great deals at the sprint store down the street, and then came here with the 300 dollars sprint gave me for switching over and celebrated. It was a fantastic meal and i was ecstatic with the food. Waitress Marissa was extremely polite and courteous, as well as funny. Will definitely be coming back soon!
Ordered take out... 14 oz steak with fries and spinach... the spinach tastes like fish. Also the steak, fries and soaking wet spinach were slopped together in the same container so the fries are soggy and taste like the fishy spinach and it’s gross. Putting wet dripping food on top of crispy fries is never ok. Steak was good but rest was disgusting a waste of $50 I won’t be ordering again.
Service was great. They have a happy hour during the week that is worth checking out. The food has never let me down with specials that adhere to the season. French Dip sandwich is always enjoyable and their mussels are comparable to other restaurants in the area. Decent beer selection that entices connoisseurs of all palates. I will be coming back here.
The food is surprisingly good. The noise level and decor suggests otherwise, but the staff is fantastic and really present. Food came out piping hot, properly cooked, well seasoned. Flavors were generally creative and interesting. Great things happening in the kitchen.
Never had a complaint with this place, food is always good. But they pulled off the menu best appetizer, the Thai chili shrimp. That’s the only reason I go there. Very disappointing!! Even all the servers would say that was the best, and would suggest that. So I won’t be going back there. Sucks
Best burger on Long Island hands down... went there two weeks ago with my family and greatly appreciated the detail to service by the superstar bartender Grace. We will be heading back for dinner at the bar real soon. The salad with short rib was off the charts as well. Fair warning as Grace said, you must try their speciality deserts.
The food was delicious, and the atmosphere is fantastic. The service however, leaves something to be desired. It took close to 40 minutes to be served our salads and once they arrived they were not the ones we ordered. I had to go up to the bar to get a soda refill and we were forgotten about more than once. While the food was wonderful, we won’t be back.
The service was not good tonight but usually is good. The food was good. Good specials. But today I have to go with a 3 star. Our waitress only came to our table once. she never asked if we wanted dessert, our water glasses sat empty, we had to ask other servers and bussers for everything we needed.
We had reservations for after theatre, and were promptly seated. Tables are on top of each other. $14.00 for vodka and cranberry juice! Really?!? Very nice service and server; no problem there. Entrees were very good; steak for my husband, fish for me. I ordered key lime cheesecake for dessert, which was a round cupcake sized something. Hint of key lime; surely not cheesecake as we know it. Dry and tasteless. This also was outrageously priced. If we ever return, itll be no booze or dessert. Think well try the Irish pub down the block next theatre day.
The atmosphere was nice, staff was nice, and the service was excellent. It was our first time at this restaurant so I decided to order their award-winning burger and my friend ordered the pork shank with potatoes and broccoli. My french onion soup came out with no cheese on the top, just two pieces of bread floating in the broth. The hamburger was inedible- the dressings were so heavy-handed, it could not be picked up and eaten at all. It was such a mess that I had to use a knife and fork, a total disaster. My friends pork was tough (overcooked) and the potatoes tasteless . . . the broccoli was initially tasteless and had a terrible aftertaste. The meal was a total disaster - John - the owner/manager/chef - was irate about it and a total idiot. He comped our meal, which I was actually willing to pay for. His resistance and inability to take criticism for the garbage he served was unacceptable. We will never be back, nor will we recommend this place to friends.
Monday night,,,, slow and confrontational service and food cooked incorrectly.... heard good things about this place but not sure why?Fries were as if McDonalds may have dropped by ,,,risotto cakes were over cooked hamburger was rare instead of as ordered and when i asked a question about what came with the burger the reply was what I just told you really???? if i wanted to be scolded it i would have stopped at my parents.... great night out! NOT!!!
Boring, dark, dull, except for maybe the bar area. Not sure what this place is, its not a place Id come for steak, and its interior doesnt look like a burger place. Maybe wannabe fine dining? The burger was excellent, cooked perfectly, so thats worth a star. Minus a star because the male server was more of just an order taker and food runner. The fact the few items we tried here were cooked really well, this place has a shot, just needs to figure out its identity. This area could use a good steak house.
We go there for Happy Hour specials. Were it not for the three young men that seem to be frequent clients at the bar during Happy Hour, Id give five stars. They are openly vulgar. Vulgarity begins with every sentence containing at least two f words. Vulgarity then runs rabid with burping. The senior host at the front end as well as other staff must be used to their vulgarity because no one bats an eyelash. I remember coming here in the he past, a time before these 3 were regular Happy Hour customers, and youd be lucky if you found a seat at the bar, never mind a high top table, also in the bar area. Ever since we have been clients during the same time these 3 clients are present, there is a wide choice of seating.Too bad...
First time dining and used a gift card we won at a fundraising auction. Food was great but our waitress was not. However, there is at least one exceptional waiter there. He ended up checking in on us. We could hear him explaining specials to his tables yet our waitress said nothing! I totally would have ordered one of them after hearing his spin in it too! Im really disappointed because I wanted to love this place. I loved the vibe but bad service is something that really deters my husband and I from revisiting an establishment. GREAT dessert!
I ate at Perabell on a Friday night when there was live music, so plan accordingly if you want to be able to have a conversation during dinner. I would definitely recommend a reservation at all times. The Poutine appetizer was amazing!!! The Apple Crusted Horseradish Salmon and the Chicken Milanese were both delicious. I will be returning as soon as possible to try the Butternut Squash Ravioli! Arrive early because parking in Patchogue can be difficult.
Excellent mothers day with family. I had the special seafood risotto & wife had the herb chicken pasta both excellent. Flavor full, arrived at appropriate time. Chocalate lava cake & blueberry cheese cake was also quite the treat. Waitress was great on the spot with all. Not to busy at the time we went, so no wait & service was delightful.
Seated quickly due to reservation. Drinks and starter were quick and good, but that’s where it ended. Server was missing in action. Drinks weren’t refilled. Food was cold and had to be sent back. Came back covered in a hot sauce. Was never asked if it was ok. Cutlery was never replaced and due to missing server had to go search for some. Was never asked if we enjoyed our meal or if there was a problem. Understandable really as we never really saw our server. Did I say she went missing. Very quick to deliver the check. Wont be back.
I got the burger special for $8 - it was on the sign outide on the sidewalk ... I ordered it as the $8 burger special to be clear to the server - when the bill came they charged me full price, $16 because you had to sit at the bar to eat it - hubby and I were at a table. Im totally fine with that but you should really state that on the sign outside and the server should have told me that as well. Then when I asked why didnt you tell me when I was ordering it the staff was very rude to me and made me feel shameful for asking ... I dont know if I would go back.
Every dish Ive had at Perabell has been very good but I wish the menu was a little more expansive. This is one of the few restaurants Ive ever been to where I feel the menu is slightly limited. As I mentioned, the food has always been great and they also have a good beer selection. Try their burger!
I cant say enough good things about this place. Excellent food (best in 25+ miles Id say). Solid service (of course there are a few bad servers now and then, but on the whole its good). A bit loud at times (its a lively joint). But Ive never once been sorry to be heading into this place, and I walk out satisfied every time. One of my absolute favorite eateries. Dont hesitate.
FOOD: 5⭐Muscle starter dish was ridiculously good and enough for 2 to share. All courses were large and enough to split and all very good. No salt or pepper needed. Very fresh tasting.SERVICE: 4.5⭐It very well could have been 5 stars but took off a .5 star because the specials are on chalk boards which were hard to read from a distance and the waitress didnt make us aware of them. Food was delivered in a timely manner with not much time between courses.not overly attentive but filled waters when empty and bussed table in a timely manner.INTERIOR DESIGN: 3.5 ⭐We sat in the corner and the wall was beat up and drywall was exposed in places. Needs paneling and more wall art in areas. Edus9n bulbs highlight the interior with exposed mechanicals giving it a standard city/urban/trendy feel which is common for the area. My wife and I are designers so we see and appreciate design and a unique feel when we go to eat. Still a nice atmosphere.Would give an overall rating of 4.5⭐ but Google allows only 4 or 5 stars.Definitely worth a visit and will be going back.... Especially for the muscles.
We made reservations for dinner after the show next door last Sunday evening for Perabell. Its a good thing we did cause everyone had the same plan, but I get the feeling theyre well prepared for the situation because everyone seemed to be sat and attended to in a timely manner. To me that was quite a feat especially since all our meals were delicious
A friend and I had lunch, here, before seeing a show at the Patchogue Theater. We were seated immediately and our waiter was very attentive, despite being very busy. It was a hot day, so all we wanted to drink was water & my glass was refilled several times without asking for more. Some places get upset if you dont order a drink. Not here. I ordered the thick cut BLT with fries. Very good. Fries were excellent. The only thing I didnt like was the bacon was a bit tough to eat, since it was so thick. (Yes. Thats what I ordered, but I never had bacon that was 1/3 thick) We definitely will return in the future!
My husband had my baby shower here and everything was PHENOMENAL. The lay out was very nice with lots of room for everyone. The food was beyond great - we had an omelet bar, eggs, sausage, bacon, pastries and bagels, pasta, a balsamic chicken, salmon, french toast (regular and banana nutella) among other things. One thing about the shower that deserves special mention - is the service. The staff was super attentive, kind, and all about making sure we had a great time. I have been there for dinner in the past and my experience was just as good however their private parties just deserve so many more than 5 stars!! If I could give 10 I would. Thank You for making my baby shower such a great and special day!!!
When we walked in, we were told 45 minute wait for a table..... 1 hour and 10 minutes later finally seated. It took 25 minutes for the waitress to take our drink order, which when it finally arrived was the wrong order. Asked for a coke and received a Jack and coke. We dont drink alcohol...Our food took another 40 minutes to arrive. The food was mediocre at best. Potatoes were cold and my steak wasnt even cooked as ordered. On top of all this unpleasantness, our waitress was not only incapable of getting the order correct for a table for 2 people only, she was very cold, impatient, and unfriendly. When we spoke to manager regarding this unprofessional and substandard service, we were told, Sorry, its a little busy .As if having more people in your establishment is an excuse for getting entire orders wrong, being rude, lying to customers about wait time, bringing out cold food, prepared incorrectly, and generally not giving a damn about your customers service. All this, and it wasnt even prime time in the evening yet. We arrived at 5:10 pm.It was one of the most unpleasant experiences I have had in a very long time. Will NEVER visit again, and have already shared this experience with friends and family. You guys have officially lost a number of customers...... if you care at all.
The dining room was closed this afternoon for a private party so I ate at the bar with a friend. Our bartender, Athena, was pleasant and attentive. The food was good and the portions were sizeable. It was nothing to write home about. I might try it again for Happy hour.
Its pretty good. I tried going to this place a Friday night and it was packed. They said it could take up to 1 hour to sit us so we left. Last Saturday we were passing by this place around noon and decided to eat lunch there and see what the hype was all about because some people have told us they have amazing burgers.I have to say they are good... not the best Ive ever had but good. The price was around $12 and they charge you extra for cheese but only like a dollar something. I tried a piece from my husbands plate. I got the crabcake sandwich and it was good but it had no seasoning or salt so it was more on the ok side.Overall I have to say I did like it because the ambiance was good, the waiters were very nice and polite and it was fairly priced.
Our only area of discontent has not changed from past reviews and that is that we wish they offered the same great chicken deal that they offer with beef. The music is better now, and the loud and obtrusive trio men customers that we always encountered the many times we went there havent been there lately, regardless the days weve gone. The bar hostesses are terrific!!!
Its a very nice upscale restaurant with a modest price. The food here is very delicious and professionally made. I have no complaints about the food but I will complain about the service. It was a bit too slow. After we sat down we waited atleast 6 minutes before someone even came to give us water and then we waited another 4 minutes for someone to take our orders. 10 minutes just waiting to have our order taken is ridiculous when there was only 3 other groups in this dining room, some who were already eating. The food came out really fast but we had the same issue of waiting too long for the waiter to come back and give us the check. The food was great so you should give them a try but just pray they dont keep u waiting too long.
Went to this restaurant yesterday with great anticipation after eating at the Patchogue location several times. Had a brick oven pizza as an appetizer, which was good. We wanted something light so my husband and I ordered a salad with grilled chicken. The grilled chicken was dry and like pieces of leather. This was one of the worst salads Ive ever had out. The service was not good, and the server came over after we gave up on trying to eat this. I told her it was terrible and the chicken was dry. We did not want to take it home. Her comment I know everyone complains about the grilled chicken. No offer to take it off the bill or replace with something else. They lost a customer and I told at least 5 people today not to waste their money eating here.
Again, another misrepresented establishment in Patchogue. Poutine should not be made by those who have clearly never had the real thing. It was French fry soup (broth consistency) with a muddied variety of flavors. Adding bacon can’t fix everything. Meatball sliders were good. Thai shrimp tacos were a fresh incarnation of a generic frozen tv dinner’s take on Thai. Burger was average. Service was not good. Will not return.
Over rated and over priced...Shrimp and Spaghetti had my families mouths on fire yet nowhere did it mention it was spicy and it shouldnt have been with the ingredients listed on the menu. The chicken tasted like rubber on both the chicken sandwich and chicken tenders. French fries were cooked to the point that they shattered in your hand. This place basically serves BAR FOOD and has no right charging the ridiculous prices they do...New name Perabell BAR FOOD not Food Bar...

2022-04-04The food is great. I just wish they would do away with that one seating area, the one with the coffee tables right next to one another. At the very least, space the tables apart more. Typically, parties of two are seated at these tables. When we arrived, my partner and I had the whole section to ourselves, then the greeter sat another couple right next to us. You have the all the coffee tables to choose from and you put them right next to us? I realize that the waiters are assigned sections, so that may have been a reason why, but there is still zero privacy between the customers. Its awkward, its uncomfortable, and it hurts the dining experience. I did request a booth, which we were not given, but I realize those are designed for large parties, and that is fine. But those booths as well as the tables in the center of the room have a noticeable distance between another.

2022-05-15Our waitress Laura was cheerful, efficient, and lovely! The food was much better than we expected. Everything was bursting with flavor! The Chicken Milanese was perfect! The creamed spinach was smooth and so flavorful. The twice baked sweet potato was melt in your mouth delicious and the bacon brussel sprouts were a treat in your mouth! The maple bourbon pork chop was tender and yummy. The brownie sundae dessert was so pretty as well as delicious. The brownie was crunchy on the edges and soft in the middle, perfect! It is right next to the theatre so it made for a wonderful night!!

Finally we were ready to walk out but a waitress came out from the back and asked if we were being helped. We decided to stay which was a mistake. Ordered Mussels which were horrible a side of mashed potatoes which were bad I had a burger which was average. Could not wait to get out of there Never going back again

2021-06-24Went to dinner with my boyfriend and mother last night at Perabell and was not disappointed! They sat us fairly quickly even on a Saturday evening. Also I absolutely adore their seasonal cocktails! Ive had my fair share of seasonal cocktails and both the cinnamon mule & the coconut rum were incredible to look at and to drink! Then the appetizers came. Meatball sliders were awesome! Just wish it came with more than two! And the spring rolls and croquettes were amazing as well! For entrees I got the chicken milanese with balsamic reduction, very yummy! Over all for the price, we were not disappointed at all! Would come back with family or friends!Update , I went to Perabell Wednesday night around 8pm . Our waitress was not attentive at all , very kind but not attentive. Also I asked for cheese to be brought with my asparagus she forgot that. She didnt come to ask if we wanted refills on our wine and cocktails . My steak was supposed to be medium well and it came out medium rare . Had to send back . Also meat was SO chewy . I know a good medium well steak and this was so ROUGH. Also my mans tuna was no great . Tasteless .Also , I dont care what time of day it is , just because its a slow night does not mean you should be unprofessional . Their staff was on their phone sitting at booths while I was eating , on their phone just being super unprofessional.(Can see in photos) Atleast do that in private , us as customers dont need to see that .Overall , I think hey need to work on staying CONSISTENT.

2019-12-03It’s always so nice to be there, the appetizers the main courses are great, the music it’s not that loud so you can have a nice talk, I like this place a lot! If you are in the area you should stop by. The portions of the food are pretty good if you compare with the places around it.Short Ribs so good, I do really recommend them a lot!!!Buffalo wings the give you like 10 pieces for around 12$ and when I was a game they were 5$ pretty awesome deal

2018-06-09The food was excellent. Our waitress was excellent. We arrived to a very quiet restaurant for an early lunch and in the middle of our meal a large group was being seated. In front of customers the Host or manager or whomever he was yelled across the restaurant and snapped his fingers at his staff like they were his puppies to do his bidding. The rest of the restaurant was empty (many empty tables), yet the manager or host, whomever he was decided the large group needed to sit right next to us and then decided to just to grab the empty chairs from our table without saying anything or asking if we minded. Then people started to file in and all stand around where we were sitting and trying to enjoy our food. Our two seater was no longer important. We packed our food and rushed out of there. What a nightmare.

2022-05-08We had a large group including 3 children on Mothers Day. The service was excellent and so was the food.
