Dr. Gottesman has wonderful and genuine bedside manner. He is extremely knowledgeable and has a passion for his work. He will always recommend what is necessary and is honest (rare find!) I have never been so happy to visit the dentist! His staff and hygienist have the upmost respect towards patients and are always eager to help with any questions or concerns. I am forever grateful I was introduced to this wonderful office!
Dr. Gottesman and his staff are the best. Dr. G made sure I felt comfortable every step of the way with my procedures and made sure to check on me as I healed (as did his incredible staff). He is warm, professional, and incredibly skilled at what he does. Run, don’t walk to his office for any of your periodontal needs.
The front desk and all the staff are very friendly, and professional. Great office facility with spacious comfortable waiting room.Dr Gottesman has a very professional yet easy going demeanor. Dr. Gottesman is absolutely amazing, he’s an excellent Periodontist and Implant Surgeon . I recently had my first implant placed, I was terrified but Dr. Gottesman was very patient and kind. He did an excellent Pain Free Implant Placement . I was very impressed . The procedure took less than 15 minutes. Highly recommended. If you’re looking for a Periodontist or you’re considering Implants , Dr. Gottesman is the Best! I will definitely recommend my friends and family. Beautiful and Clean office.
Ive had dental surgeries in the past with other dentists which werent the most pleasant experience and it took many years to feel comfortable to even consider doing it again. Dr. Gottesman has a very calm and reassuring demeanor so I knew I was in good hands. Everything was explained very clearly from start to finish and there was minimal pain. The results of my gum graft were better than I believed was possible. I like it here so much that I also see the hygienist here regularly for deep cleanings. Highly recommend.
I cannot recommend Dr. Gottesman more highly for his outstanding skills in periodontal dentistry. His knowledge, his thinking ahead , his wide range of treatments for many preventive and diagnostic categories of dental needs is truly in the service of the patient. He is kind and perceptive with each patient as he gets to know them. Just as important are the interpersonal skills of his reception and medical support staff and dental hygienists. All are gracious and very helpful.
I have recently undergone major periodontal surgery, done over two lengthy sessions. I had been recommended to Dr. Gottesman by my regular dentist and I want to share my extremely positive experience. Even though the procedures, involving surgery on both my upper and lower gums, was essentially PAIN-FREE. Even the recuperation after each session was both brief and virtually devoid of pain--or even serious discomfort. I can strongly recommend this skilled practitioner to anyone seeking top-quality periodontal work. One slight caveat: such superb care, delivered in lovely surroundings on the Upper East Side of NYC, does not come cheap. But, for anyone wanting to be sure of the quality of this kind of serious treatment, I strongly recommend Dr. Gottesman for his skilled professionalism and for his caring and calming approach.
Dr Gottesman’s practice is excellent. He is a very skilled periodontist and he has helped me through other dental emergencies when I needed specialists in different dental fields. I trust his judgment and advice.His hygienist is wonderful and the front office always helpful and concerned.
I first met Dr. Gottesman at Perio NYC about nine years ago. At that time I had a painful dental infection that needed immediate attention. Dr. Gottesman reassured me and gently explained my options and the future effects of each decision. I had extractions, bone grafts, and inplants and every step of the way Dr. Gottesman and his wonderful staff had walked me painlessly through each. Recently, this past week, I had another needed extraction and Dr. Gottesman and his staff shined again with the same expert gentle care.Perio NYC is a very modern office with the best equipment, and is very clean and well managed. My experience at Perio NYC and with Dr. Gottesman has been very positive. Dr. Gottesman and his entire staff are great at communicating what to expect, not only for the procedures but also with billing. They were able to put me at ease by answering all my questions before, during, and after my appointments. Oral surgery can be stressful so it is nice to know that if I had questions they will get answered.
Dr. Gottesman is the the most patient, experienced, knowledgeable and capable periodontist I have ever encountered. He’s selfless, attentive, humorous, affectionate and cooperative. I call him “Golden hands,” because anything he touches, he makes amazing. He puts all his effort and time into anything and everything he does. He treats his patients as if he knew them for a lifetime. He continues to do outstanding and unbeatable work on me, and I’m sure all of his other patients as well! He did an amazing job on my implants and I consecutively go to his office once a year for a checkup and cleaning. It’s a pleasure to come to his office because Dr. Gottesman’s staff are amazing and make you feel very comfortable in his office. I highly recommend him!!
The Best Periodontist Ever... Dr. Gottesman has Hands like an angel he is such a great doctor. Also has great hygienist to keep you sharp and looking great! Dr Gotteseman is the absolute best!! I had an extraction performed and literally felt no pain! Which I didn’t know was possible.The entire team at Perio is wonderful! I had a great experience all the way from booking my appointment to my visit to their beautiful townhouse office. The team handles everything with great care and they made sure to give me very detailed instructions for my post visit routine which I’m happy to say my healing process has gone very smoothly.I highly recommend Dr Gotteseman and the entire Perio team for anyone needing their services in the NYC area. Some doctors are good Carpenters. (Technically proficient) Some are pleasant and easy to deal with. Rarely do you get a dentist/doctor who is so above and beyond on both counts. Its a terrific combo. (Think Goldilocks) A great Oral Surgeon, pleasant, caring, a good listener. And his office rocks as well with a LOVELY garden out back. As a connoisseur of doctors ( Lifelong New Yorker, Middle Aged Jewish Male. Nuff said?) this guy is da bomb. I half thought of not writing this because I dont want him to get TOO busy. He also has a Great referral network of like minded specialists in other fields. OH, and his Hygienists are also great! When making a cleaning appointment, the office always asks who I want and I tell them I dont really care because they are all so good.

Dr. Gottesman (and his entire staff) made my teeth-cleaning, gum graft surgery, and recovery work simple. I have been treated by Dr. Gottesman for several extractions and implants over the past four years. Last month I came to his office, in great pain, with two cracked, abscessed teeth. He quickly assessed my condition, extracted the teeth, cleaned out the deep infection and grafted the area of bone loss. The procedure was done with minimal discomfort! As usual Dr. Gottesmans operating technique and hand skills were exceptional. The pain was gone and the recovery was swift.The treatment room faces a serene garden, which combines with his soothing, relaxing, and confident manner to create a zen like atmosphere. I truly believe Dr. Gottesman is the absolute best periodontist practicing today.

Dr. Gottesman and his practice helped me with periodontal issues over the course of many years, including several surgeries. He is patient and precise. There is nothing fun about oral surgery but Dr. Gottesman makes it as good as it can be.
I have been seeing periodontists in this practice for almost twenty years—Drs. Nussbaum and Gottesman. Their reputation is sterling—and if you go there you will understand why. Recently a dentist I was seeing referred me to a different periodontist and an oral surgeon who cooked up $14k of problems that needed to be addressed—urgently. Dr. Gottesman sat down with me and carefully explained what was necessary and what was not, what would work and what wouldnt. He made his recommendations based not just on problems that my mouth presented, but on my own particular history—things werent as pressing as Id been led to believe, because some of these problems had been stable for years. He saved me about $10k that day. I tell him hes the closest thing to a Santa Claus Ive experienced as an adult! The people in this practice look out for the whole you—your teeth, your well-being, and your pocket book. Love them!

I had put off having implant surgery for several years and finally overcame my apprehension (FEAR) and on 7/21/21 went forward with this procedure and Dr. Gottesman as well as the staff were so informative and comforting throughout this process I could not believe I had waited so long!!!
Dr. Gottesman performed an implant and supplemental gum surgery. I had a very positive experience with him. His office is professional and friendly. His demeanor is excellent - warm, reassuring and humorous. Of course, he was also spot-on with professional judgments -- my surgery and recovery mirrored the experience he said I would have. I was never happy to visit the dentist for surgery - nobody is - but he made an unpleasant experience much more tolerable.

Dr. Gottesman is the absolute BEST!! He did a procedure on my upper gums, so that more of my teeth would show when i smiled. Now i have the confidence to smile for my upcoming wedding!! The procedure was quick, painless and he was very warm and reassuring during it.
Dr. Gottesman is awesome! He did a gum graft of all my bottom teeth and I am very happy with the results. Before, I couldn’t eat ice cream or drink anything cold without pain and I was starting to lose bone between my teeth. Now I can happily eat ice cream and drink whatever temperature water I choose! The graft got good coverage and healed nicely. Dr. Gottesman was very attentive during and after the surgery - calling me to check in and promptly responding to my panicked text message when my swelling didn’t go down. He’s an all around nice guy and a great doctor who genuinely cares about his patients! I highly recommend.

Dr. Gottesman performed an alloderm gum graft on me in January 2018. The whole procedure with smooth and relatively short. Obviously gum surgery is something nobody wants to have, but it was much easier than I had it built up in my mind. With the topical anesthetic, even the novocaine didnt hurt like I was expecting. I wont lie, the recovery process does suck... but due mainly to the eating limitations. Youre aware you had a procedure for a long time, 6 months later I am finally starting to not feel anything... but its not pain. I would recommend him and his office to anyone needing such work. I am actually about to head there for a cleaning right now.
I have absolutely nothing bad to say about my experience with Dr. Gottesman. He is absolutely passionate about what he does, which is to give people beautiful smiles that reflect the light of the person within.I didnt know that gummy smiles could be corrected until my mother stumbled on Dr. Gottesmans site. His reputation and work spoke for themselves, and I knew that if I was going to get any work done on something as important as my smile, it had to be with the Best. So I took a deep breath and took the plunge.The surgery itself was completely painless, I had practically no swelling after, and in a week and a half I was at a wedding partying it up and taking a slew of photos with my new smile. When I went through the photos I took from the wedding, I just couldnt believe how good my smile, and ultimately my FACE looked.And the best part was that NOBODY asked me if I had had anything done. 2022-07-01I’ve seen Dr Gottesman regarding recession on my lower front teeth. I had this recession for a long time following my orthodontic treatment and had seen numerous periodontists since. I knew I had to have a gum graft but because my situation was extreme I wanted to find a very good and experienced periodontist. Dr Gottesman was recommended to me by my dentist in Brooklyn, whom I trust. I had a very positive impression after my first visit for consultation. Dr Gottesman was optimistic about the treatment and gave me very detailed explanations. I could feel that he really cares about his patients and I liked his personality. I had my gum graft procedure 2 weeks ago and it went very smoothly. I was very scared at first because I’m prone to fainting after long or painful procedures, but on the other hand, this situation with my gums remained untreated for years so I decided to go ahead. I’m very glad I made this decision. Dr Gottesman was sympathetic when I told him about my fear and put me at ease. I felt that I could trust him. The procedure was over within 2 hours and I didn’t feel any pain and hardly any discomfort. I received my post op instructions and followed them during 2 weeks of recovery. I didn’t feel any pain afterwards except a natural discomfort due to swelling, but it passed after 3 days. The healing took less time then I expected because after 1 week I felt completely fine. The results are amazing! My gum level went back to normal and the gums are thicker as well to prevent the recession. I wish I found Dr Gottesman sooner and I highly recommend him to anyone with similar health issues. Don’t hesitate if you are scared of procedure like I was, you will be in good hands!

2021-12-23I highly recommend Dr. Gottesman and his office. They are extremely professional and caring every step of the way. All of my appointments were done on time and each of the procedures were explained in great detail. Dr Gottesman also followed up the day of each of the surgeries to make sure there were no issues. Extremely happy with the outcome of my implants and appreciate the care Dr G takes with his patients.

2022-07-06I’ve had 2 gum grafts performed by Dr. Gottesman. An upper about 3 years ago and more recently one on my lower gums. I could not be happier with both results. My gums are healthy and look amazing. Dr. Gottesman is an extremely gifted periodontist and I was so fortunate to fall into his capable hands. Thank you Dr. G. His office staff are also top notch - very competent and pleasant to deal with.

Dr. G took the time to carefully explain every detail to me and answer all of my questions, and the procedure went as smoothly as possible (with amazing results). 2021-09-17I was recommended to Dr. Gottesman by my dear friend and honestly the best experience so far while working on getting the perfect smile. From scheduling the initial appointment to the follow up on the procedure I felt comfortable and at ease. Dr. Gottesman explains the entire procedure to me while giving me advice on how to best take care of my implants. I am glad that the work is almost completed but will definitely miss visiting this spectacular office and team. Thank you Dr.Gottesman and Team!!!! :)

The procedure went smoothly and the recovery was just as expected. I am pleased with the results. 2021-08-04My whole experience here has been A++++. If I could give this review 10 stars I would! I was very nervous about what was happening to my teeth and on the advice of my dentist went to see Dr. Gottesman. His genial nature, great ability to explain things to me thoroughly really did ease a lot of my anxiety. I could not be happier with my results! I will fully admit I cried a little when I realized that I loved my smile again and that feeling is priceless! Every single staff member was amazing, so courtesy and helpful and checked up on me after my procedure. It is not often one can say that their experience with dental work was painless but I fully can and I cant thank Dr. Gottesman and his team enough! They are ALL awesome!!
